2 In 1; In Unity & More [Completed] Kong

I went back home to check on my dad. He had sustained a fall in the day and, as usual, was playing hero.

Ever since Mae had passed away from cancer a few years ago, it has only been me and him. He’s been my rock as I got through university and was in my final year. He ran a business, oversaw the home, and did everything independently, not getting married just so he could focus on me.

It may seem weird that I run back home to check on him just because of a fall but when he’s the only parent, he becomes extra extra important and I know my dad also always downplayed anything that happened to him.

Thankfully, it was just a small fall, and he sustained a cut on his arm. However, he had gotten it dressed. I was pissed that the guy who had caused the accident did not help him, but I found out that my ever polite dad had sent him away as he was rushing for something.

I rolled my eyes at my dad for always being so kind and letting people step all over him. I was by far very easygoing and amicable but got super protective and like a mother hen when it came to my dad.

He meant the world to me, and I would not give up on anything for that. My closest friends knew it and respected it. I also made sure it was something my university knew, too, so they understood when I opted out of some events, especially if it clashed with looking after my dad.

I had dinner with my dad before I made my way back to my dorm. I felt bad about skipping out on Sotus so I wanted to swing by Lam’s dorm to apologise to him as I knew he has to fill in for me when I am absent and it was already my 5th time this month alone!

I got to Lam’s dorm, went up to his room, and knocked on the door. Finally, a little while later, Lam opened the door, looking tired despite having showered judging from his wet hair.

“Lam.. hey, I wanted.. ”

“Say sorry? For the emergency again? What is it like? 5th time now? Can’t you be more responsible? Do you know how tiring it is for people to constantly fill in for you? Don’t know what reason or excuse you keep cooking up, but clearly, the others are falling for it. Well, I am not. Either play your fucking role or step down from the hazing team!”

Before I could say anything else, Lam had just slammed the door shut on me! I was this close to losing my shit on him but I bit my tongue back. He didn’t know why I kept missing the sessions so I could understand his frustrations. I was thinking I should let the juniors know so they understand my situation better but…. seeing how Lam had reacted, I wonder how the others would too.

I sighed softly to myself as I made my way back to my dorm. Arthit called me to check on how my dad was and I filled him in. I also shared with him on Lam and he was so pissed.

“But it’s really not his fault too. He doesn’t know why. I would let him know tomorrow. Hopefully he understands my situation better.”

Arthit agreed albeit reluctantly but was still seething pissed over how Lam had spoken to me. I told him to lay off that boy till I spoke to him myself.

Lam had a temper but Arthit wasn’t any better and me? I was just the peacemaker for all.

But right now, in Lam’s eyes, the biggest troublemaker I guess.
