Ian was met with a deadpan on his husband’s face when he came back home.
His son seemed to have banded together with his father and is now posing similarly with a deadpan expression and crossed-arms beside Chenyi.
Ian couldn’t help but feel amusement. They looked more adorable than intimidating.
He sighed softly, his lips turned upwards into a small smile, “I’m home!” he said and continued inside after closing the door.
Wenduo looked like he was ready to jump at him and give him a hug in greeting.
But he turned to see his father hadn’t shifted one bit, so he stayed in his place now sporting a stubborn look.
Ian really couldn’t help the small laugh that left him. “Hello everyone, is this some sort of intervention I’m getting?”
“You didn’t tell me you were going to take over the project.” Chenyi said, a little grumbly.
“I wasn’t about to let you go to work when you’re sick. And I knew that project was important.” Ian answered and patted Wenduo’s soft black hair.
The little bun blinked owlishly at him, struggling to see if he should hug his mommy or keep up with the ‘intimidation’ with his daddy.
“You didn’t have to.” Chenyi said with a sigh, relaxing his posture.
“I wanted to. Don’t worry, love.” Ian gave him a smile before kissing his cheek which still seemed warm from the fever.
“…can I hug Mommy now, Daddy?” Wendup piped up.
Chenyi gave a long sigh, “Yes, you can.”
Wenduo grinned as he finally hugged his Mommy enthusiastically, making Ian laugh.
“How was work?”, Chenyi asked once Ian set his things down.
“It was great! Everyone was really nice and cooperative.” Ian said with a smile.
“I’m glad then. I assume everyone’s been keeping up with their work? And no mishaps happened?”
“None at all.” Ian said before reaching towards Wenduo then carrying him in his arms.
“Everything was just fine, no need to worry at all.” he said before stepping into Chenyi’s arms.
Chenyi sighed once again before hugging his family tightly.
“…I’ll be going right back to work once my fever subsides.”
“I wouldn’t think of anything else, love.”

…can anyone tell that I like Outsider POV? Idk I just like it when we get to see how everyone else sees the main protagonist/s. Because we see them for how they truly are, but the other characters don’t, so I find it really interesting to know what they think of them.
Thank you so much for the anonymous Kofi tip! And of course, here we have an extra chapter for this month’s last update :))
Anyways, that’ll be all for today! Hope you like it!
See you in the next update!
