Wanda’s POV
Kate was right about going for a swim and lucky for me that Danvers had no longer been in the water, so I didn’t have to deal with her. I feel like being in the water washed away all of the negative feelings and thoughts that I was having. I knew going into this bet that Carol was going to do everything in her power to get under my skin. I knew that she would try to turn on the charm with Y/N, so I can’t let her get the better of me. It’s time for me to turn on the charm and woo Y/N. Okay, I’ve got this no big deal.
I decide that I’ve had my fill of being out in the water for the day. I start swimming back to shore, so I can go hang out with the girls some more. Around the time the water was at the level of my waist, I suddenly felt someone’s gaze burning into me causing me to look around for the source. I stop for a moment and glance behind me to see if it was Vision since I was just with him. But I see he’s busy messing with some of the boys in the water which makes me rule him out. I turn back around and slowly continue toward the shore and sweep my gaze around the beach to see whose gaze it is that is currently on me.
None of the boys were looking at me so I figured that it was probably just one of the girls looking around for me or something. When I look over at the group and what I see causes me to let out a small gasp. Turns out the person looking at me is Y/N which causes me to flush at the thought that she’s been watching me this entire time and I grow slightly self-conscious. When I finally look into her eyes, the intensity that I see in them cause me to shiver slightly, and the blush on my face only intensifies.
I continue holding eye contact with her and suddenly get a great idea to tease her if she’s going to keep staring at me. Gathering all the courage that I can, I decided to let her know that I’d noticed her staring by sending her a teasing smile. This causes her to blush and I decide to add a bit more sway to my hips as I finally reach the shore. I notice her eyes widen slightly as her gaze drifts down. I continue to walk toward the group while keeping my attention completely on Y/N. I smile once I realize that she has not looked away from me since I started coming out of the water.
Y/N’s POV
Just as I was about to let my irritation with my cousin out after she lied to me about the dolphins, I noticed Wanda was swimming towards the shore. I watched in awe as she effortlessly swam closer all while looking like some kind of model and found myself unable to tear my eyes away from her. When she was about halfway out of the water, I noticed that she had a curious look on her face as she looked at something behind her before looking forward and continuing to walk.
God this woman is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. I feel like I’m about to faint just at the sight of her. She looks like the epitome of a goddess after doing something as simple as coming out of the water. I think to myself as I watch her sweep her gaze across the beach before her eyes finally land on me and catch me looking at her. I notice her brow quirk slightly before she sends me a teasing smile. I blush slightly knowing that I have been caught staring at her like some kind of idiot.
If I’ve been caught in the act, then I might as well take my time admiring her. I decide to shamelessly take in all of her beauty and my eyes widen and are drawn toward her hips once I notice them swaying hypnotically. I drag my gaze back up and hold eye contact with her. Wanda seems to blush once she realizes that I have doubled down by continuing to stare at her instead of folding and looking away from her.
Normally I would have looked away the moment that she caught my gaze. However, after having endured watching her hang out with Vision, I decided it was time to be a bit bolder and braver. I’m knocked out of my reverie when I suddenly feel a sharp elbow to the rubs making me rub them in pain and look over at Kate. She whispers out a quiet “simp” which she attempts to hide behind a cough. I still manage to catch it and I send a scornful look her way before looking back toward Wanda.
Once she has almost reached us, I realize that she will be needing a towel. I jump up to grab one for her one before slightly jogging over to meet her halfway. “Hey Wands, did you enjoy your swim?” She smiles gratefully at me as she grabs the towel and begins to dry herself off. “Thank you! And I did! It definitely helped me cool off a bit although I’m starting to feel a little cold. So I was wondering if maybe you could help warm me up a bit?” She gets slightly closer to me as she says the last bit in a low, suggestive tone while sending me a provocative smile.
My cheeks flare up at the insinuation as I gulp lightly at her suggestive tone and can’t seem to get a proper word out. I turn into a stuttering mess which causes Wanda to giggle at my lack of ability to get out an articulated thought. Her giggles cause me to nervously chuckle as I go to try to speak again. But I’m saved when Tony suddenly interrupts us and yells out “Alright people I think it’s time to play some truth or dare!” Wanda looks back toward me with another teasing smile as she begins to put her clothes back on over her bikini.
Her eyes have a certain sparkle to them as she looks at me before grabbing my hand. “Come on dork, let’s go play some truth or dare,” as she drags me towards everyone else. I smile back at her and allow myself to be dragged away toward the group. All of them are currently gathering around the firepit with their drinks. Wanda and I manage to get two seats next to each other and we both look at each other with shy smiles on our faces. Pietro comes over to hand us each a drink before sitting next to his sister.
Tony starts off first and spins the bottle before it lands on one of the other boys. The game continues without a hitch and is rather relaxed and tame which surprises me to no end. Most of the dares consisted of doing stupid and silly things. Thor had to dress up in one of the girls’ crop tops and skirts for the rest of the game. Then Pietro got dared to give Monica a hilarious lap dance. Then other people like Steve, Kate, and Bruce had to answer different silly questions since they all picked truth which made others in the group boo them for being boring.
I was having a good time and didn’t have to do or say anything too out there, but something in my gut was telling me that the game was about to take an unexpected turn. My gut feeling turned out to be right once the dare and questions started to get a little spicier, but it wasn’t anything too bad. Luckily, I didn’t get asked or told to do anything weird. Monica ended up having a turn and the bottle landed on me which made us both smirk at each other. “About fucking time! Okay, truth or dare bestie? Remember who’s asking, so choose wisely.”
Her mocking tone makes me chuckle and I think about it for a moment. “I’m not afraid of you in the slightest, however, I know you’ll make me do something stupid, so I pick truth.” She grins wickedly at me and thinks of what she wants to ask me. This makes me grow slightly nervous and fidget in my seat a bit as I wait for her question. “What was the last text message that you sent and who did you send it to?” She asks with a smirk on her face as I glare at her before grumbling and getting up to go get my phone from inside the villa.
Once I’ve grabbed it, I go back to my seat and sit down as I unlock it and go to my messages and open up my last message. I sigh out loud before looking back at Monica who has a shit-eating grin on her face. “The last text that I sent was coincidentally sent to you and it says: I can’t do that! She’s like way out of my league and would never agree to it.” I am absolutely horrified and embarrassed that I had to read off that text and I refuse to look at anyone as I go to spin the bottle. It lands on Maria and I try to continue on with the game to take the attention off of myself.
Later in the game, I am again forced to embarrass myself even further when Natasha has a turn. I stupidly picked truth thinking that it would save me from further exposure. Once my turn is over, I spin the bottle once again and it lands on Tony who picks dare. I sigh in relief since he takes everyone’s attention off of me however during his dare, I still feel two sets of eyes on me, but I do my best to ignore them.
After completing his dare, Tony grabs the bottle and spins it before it finally lands on Wanda which draws my immediate attention. “Ha! You thought you would escape this game unscathed but now it’s your turn. Alright, then what will it be Maxipad? Truth or dare?” Tony exclaims which makes everyone else laugh and I would have laughed as well had he not called her that stupid name again. I sit up in my chair and go to reprimand Tony for the nickname but stop when Wanda grabs my wrist and sends me a gentle smile which I return.
After sitting back in my seat, Wanda looks back over at Tony and rolls her eyes at him before saying, “Stop calling me Maxipad Stark! And I choose dare.” Wanda’s response causes him to chuckle slightly before he smirks and glances over at Natasha which confuses me. However, I don’t have much time to think about it before he finally responds. “I dare you to sit on Vision’s lap and kiss him for 3 minutes.” Once the dare leaves his mouth it feels as if everything and everyone around me freezes in its place. I tense up while clenching my jaw and looking over at Wanda.
I notice Wanda’s eyes widen in surprise before she glances over at me and sends me a look that I can’t quite decipher. She gets up and approaches Vision who has a smug look on his face. My hands clench into fists and I suddenly feel a hand on my shoulder as I look over to see who it is I notice that Pietro seems to have moved next to me. He sends me a small tight-lipped smile before looking over at Tony and sending daggers his way.
My attention goes back to Wanda, I watch as she timidly sits on Vision’s lap and waits for a moment and waits for Tony to speak. “Your time starts now!” She leans in to kiss Tony’s idiotic brother and I grip the beer bottle in my hand tight enough to almost break it. I painfully watch Wanda kiss Vision for a solid minute before I decide I can no longer watch this happen. I angrily stand up causing my beer bottle to fall onto the floor and shatter which causes everyone to look over at me in surprise. Wanda quickly looks over at me before standing up from Vision’s lap.
I hold her gaze for a moment before quickly looking away as I can only picture her kissing Vision when I look at her. I try to shake the image of them kissing out of my mind and grit my teeth. The kiss has seemingly been ingrained into my mind and I huff in pure unadulterated frustration. “Fuck this! I don’t want to play this stupid fucking game anymore. I’m going for a swim.” I practically spit out before stomping away from the group and ignoring whoever calls out my name.
I need to get as far away as I can before I do something that I regret. God, I cannot believe that I just had to watch her kiss him of all people! What if she actually liked kissing him? Maybe I should just give up on the idea of ever being with her… I sigh at my last thought before walking into the water and taking off in the fastest swim ever. I could swear I could make out the faint sound of my name being called out, but I choose to ignore it and continue to swim out further into the water.
