Caesar
I didn’t sleep with Igor that night either, and the entire day I could feel his eyes on me when we were in the same room.
The only reason I was annoyed when I woke up the following morning was because I still couldn’t sleep and if anyone tries to irritate me, then no one can save them from my wrath.
Thankfully, no one approached me while I was eating breakfast since they could tell by my expression how bad my mood was.
“Boss, everyone is here” Akim informed and I got up from the seat with Igor and him following me.
I didn’t stop Igor from joining the meeting while Akim stood outside of the room and I entered with Igor behind me. The second I stepped in, everyone stopped chatting and looked at us.
Without acknowledging anyone, I walked to my seat at the head of the table. After settling down, I scanned each face, letting the silence stretch uncomfortably.
“I called this meeting because… you all have forgotten who I am” My voice was low but filled with dangerous edge.
“You think we are having few issues, so you can treat me the way you want to” My gaze locked on one of the dons who immediately casted his eyes down.
The room was dead silent, the tension almost suffocating. Everyone looked at that don who was shivering in fear.
“Boris, you had a lot to say yesterday…Speak now” My tone was deceptively calm.
“Caesar, I…” He swallowed hard but before he could say anything, I pulled my gun out and pointed at him.
“I told you before…no one raises their voice at me” I said coldly before shooting at his forehead.
He slumped back in his chair, blood pouring from the wound as his body slid to the floor. While no one else tried to move or speak.
“You all think, I don’t know what is going on in the world… I’m here to remind you all that you are still under my rule. You live because I allow it. You profit because I make it possible…Don’t mistake my patience for weakness”.
My voice is steady but laced with lethal authority.
“You’ll do what I say, when I say it. Is that clear?” I locked eyes with all the dons and they all nodded quickly.
After making sure they know who is incharge here, I calmed down and brought the main reason for which we gathered here.
“I will handle that officer. Nobody has to be afraid of him. You all continue with your work… That’s it, leave” I said in a commanding tone and one by one, they left the room, except for one.
Without saying anything to Igor, I leaned back in my chair and closed my eyes.
“What’s the status on our losses?” After a few seconds, I asked him with my eyes still closed.
“An intern is behind all this. I have asked Akim to…” I could feel that he chose his words carefully after seeing my wrath.
“Intern?” I cut him off mid-sentence and looked at him with my cold eyes.
“You are telling me that a low level intern slipped from our radar?” The air in the room felt colder as my fury became more apparent.
“I am handling it, Caesar. We will soon find him” His voice was steady and only he is the one who could stand up to me even when I am this furious.
“Oh really? Because right now, I don’t think you understand what’s at stake. This intern made fools of us. He put cracks in the foundation of what I’ve built”.
The room fell into a tense silence. I could see Igor clenching his fists at his sides and resisting the urge to defend himself more aggressively.
“I want you to bring him to me and I want to know every single detail of how he did this. I want to know who helped him and who gave him the nerve to pull this off” My voice dropped to a deadly whisper.
“I’ll get it done” He nodded stiffly before leaving the room.
As the door closed behind me, I stood in silence, my jaw clenched and mind focused…This was a humiliation I wouldn’t tolerate. The intern had made a fatal mistake, and I would make sure his lesson was a bloody one.
Igor
As soon as I left the meeting room, I became enraged. I was aware that he was angry, but he didn’t need to vent on me, and why in the world does he think that I am like his dons—who will just listen to him quietly?…Igor Smirnov will never listen to anyone, he has never listened to anyone.
Since yesterday, I was trying to make up for my mistake but after yelling at me I decided to not approach him. He will now come to me and ask for my forgiveness.
The fight is on, Caesar!
