“What should we do first, noona?” He asked.
“I want to see how long you can talk to girls for a start. Do you mind if i ask you to approach some girls?”
“Sure, i don’t mind.”
“Okay…. that girl. She seems to be a calm one.” She pointed to a girl who seems to be messing with her laptop.
“How should i start?”
“Just come up and say hi. I want to see how long you can keep a conversation for.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes i’m sure. Now go, before she goes somewhere else.” She pushed him from the back forcefully. Y/N started walking, this time trying to be more composed.
“H-Hi…”
“Uh? Ah, yeah, hi.”
“Can i sit here?”
“Yeah, sure.”
Y/N sat down across of her, trying to think of something to say. Not even a minute in, and he already glanced at Eunbi asking for help. Like the plan they had arranged, Y/N slowly got his phone out to see what her advice is.
You can do it. The message read.
Noona!!!!!!!!!!!
Y/N thought to himself before looking back at the girl who’s focusing on doing something.
Think Y/N. Think!!
“So.. what’re you doing there?”
“Eh? No-nothing. Just watching some stuff, haha.” She laughed awkwardly.
“Oh? What’re you watching? Can i see it?” Y/N said as he got up getting closer to her.
“NO!!!” She slammed her laptop shut before looking at him.
“I-I’m sorry. I have to go.” She packed her bags and started leaving as Y/N could only stare.
Damn it.
Y/N rested his head on the table as Eunbi can be seen approaching him.
“So. It didn’t went well huh?”
“I was only asking about what she was watching…” Y/N whined.
“Hm… it might be too soon if i give you a feedback. We’ll move on for now. Okay then. Next one. Um…. there.”
“Her?? No way. She’s way out of my league.”
“Come on, you can do it. Go!”
Y/N walked with hesitation to the girl that seemed to be busy with her phone.
Not even having a single word, the girl already left without him having the chance to say anything. This just made him more disheartened than he already is.
“I didn’t imagine it would be this bad… do you have bad luck with women?”
“Sometimes i do wonder about that noona. Do i have bad luck?”
“Hmm…. Nah, you just need guidance. Let’s have a talk, Y/N.”
“Okay, noona.” He moved from his seat to give his noona some room.
“What did you think about whilst coming up to the girls?”
“I was trying to think about what to talk about with them. Like some opening to a conversation, you know.”
“I see.. why don’t you try and maybe ask some small favor from them? And maybe move on from there.”
At least according to my research last night.
“How exactly noona?”
“Hm… ask them for a pen? Say to them that you forgot to bring your pen, and needed to write something.”
“But… i don’t have anything to write at the moment.”
“It’s just an example, Y/N. Or perhaps the park might be too hard for you?”
“…actually noona, i think here might be too hard for me. This is like the pros land.”
“The pro- Y/N. There’s no such thing as pros.”
“Look at him.”
Y/N pointed to a guy who seemed to be hitting on some girl. Surprisingly, the girl got up and they both went somewhere together.
“W-Well… that might be her friend or something.”
“But it didn’t look like she was waiting for someone noona.”
“…..anyway, Y/N. Like i said. There’s no such thing as pros. You just need guidance from someone experienced.”
Not that i am experienced. I’m sorry , Y/N.
“How about we give up here, and maybe start small. Like for example… your class?”
“My class?” She nodded at him. “Ah~ i think i can see where you’re going.”
“You do?”
“…..not really, sorry. Can you explain to me?” Eunbi sighed as she put her hand on his shoulder.
“So~. You will come to class tomorrow, maybe look for a girl that you seem to be interested in. Ask first whether you can sit next to her or not. If she said you can, then sit! But do not engage yet.” Y/N nodded to her every step.
“When the class is starting, act like as if your searching for your pen. And then say something under your breath, like ‘Ah.. shoot. I forgot to bring my pen. Tch.'”
“Ah~”
“And if she didn’t hear what you just said, maybe ask her for a pen.”
“Okay i think i can do that. What happens after that?”
“Hm… let’s see… you really have zero knowledge about this stuff huh?” Y/N can only shook his head with shame.
“It’s alright. Noona will help you until you get a girlfriend. Don’t you worry, Y/N.”
“Thanks noona. I wonder why you’re going this far too help me.” She looked at him confused.
“Oh? I thought you knew about it already, Y/N?”
“About what?”
She spewed her old school’s name making Y/N surprised.
“How did you-“
“You helped me going to the school’ office, remember?” Eunbi giggled as he stood up in front of her in disbelief.
“Are you serious? Noona, that was you?” Eunbi nodded.
“Wow! It-it’s been a long time since i last saw you! No wonder you felt similar!”
“Yeah you felt similar too when i first saw you. But it looks like you forgot about me, so i didn’t say anything.”
“I’m sorry noona. It’s just that we only met one time and that’s it.”
“It’s okay. So, when will your class start tomorrow?”
“At about 8.”
“Great. I’ll be in your class then.”
“Are we in the same class?”
“No, duh. I’ll be there to just help you. It’s not like the professor will realize that i’m there.”
“Hm…. alright then. See you at 8 tomorrow, noona?”
“Yeah. See you tomorrow.”
___________
The next day
“Oh. It’s that girl again.”
“Y/N. It’s that girl from yesterday. Since it was a fail, why don’t you give it a try now?”
“Uh… okay noona. Where’ll you be sitting at?”
“I’ll be sitting right behind you. Go on.”
Y/N proceeded to walk to the pink-haired girl sitting alone. Gathering every courage he can before going to the battlefield, he slid over slowly to her seat and said.
“Hey. Mind if i sit here?”
“Oh sure! There’s no one sitting here.”
“Thanks!”
First step, success! But then, what’s next?
Y/N cautiously glanced behind to Eunbi and she gestured for him to look at his phone.
Don’t act first. Wait ’till the professor starts writing and then pretend that you lost your pen.
Got it.
Y/N put his phone on the table’s side and waited for the professor to arrive and execute his plan.
Time skip
Okay, there’s the cue.
Y/N then start rummaging his backpack as if searching for something, when he was actually looking for nothing. About a minute after, he noticed the girl’s glancing at him.
“What’s wrong?”
“Eh? Ah, it seems like i left my pen at home. Do you by any chance have an extra?”
“Sure!” She reached for her pencil case and pulled a pen out of it as she’s giving it to him. A cute pen with a doll on the end of it.
“That’s a cute pen.” Y/N said.
“Ya! This is the only other pen i have. If you don’t want it then i guess i’ll put it back.”
“I was just teasing you. Give it to me.” He said as he took it from her hand. “Thanks.”
Y/N looked at the pen giggling a bit inside and went through his backpack once again to search for his glasses, since they’re sitting quite far from the board.
Damn it. I left it at the desk! How can i be so stupid.
Y/N struggles as he’s trying to make out the words on the board. Everything seems so blurry to him, that it doesn’t look like he’s writing Hangul.
Minju giggles seeing him struggling to write as he squints his eyes.
“Why did you sit here if you can’t see the board clearly?” She asked.
“I thought i brought my glasses. Looks like i left it at home. I messed up.”
Pitying him, Minju slid over to him closer. “Here. Look at my notes. You can’t see the board clearly, right?”
“I can’t. Thanks for letting me see your notes.”
“How can you be so clumsy. First, you forgot your pen, and now you forgot your glasses. Don’t forget to bring them next time, okay?” Y/N nodded to her warning.
“I’ll try not to. Sorry for being clumsy.” She laughed and then continued back on writing the notes when she stopped midway.
“By the way, what’s your name?” She asked.
“Hm? Oh, my name is Hwang Y/N. You?”
“I’m Kim Minju. Born in ’01.”
“Oh really? I was born in ’99.”
“Should i call you oppa then?”
“If that makes you comfortable, sure.”
Wow…. is this really the guy that said she can’t talk to girls? He looks like a natural. Eunbi thought to herself as she’s eavesdropping every sentence they’re saying.
“So.. Y/N-oppa?”
Oppa…. never thought i would hear the day where a girl would call me by that.
“Yup. Like that.”
“Y/N-oppa. Hehe.” She chuckled saying his name. Y/N smiled at her before focusing back on writing his notes. Just then, a message came to his phone.
You’re doing great. Keep going!
