Transmigrated Into A Waste Who Married The Villain. Chapter 52: A Big Misunderstanding

Qu Weiyin pressed her lips tightly together, her gaze darting away.

Luo Jinxiao was torn between anger and pain. From her perspective, she could see the turmoil of demonic energy swirling and colliding within Qu Weiyin, and that her celestial veins were being subtly consumed. The fact that Qu Weiyin had managed to endure without saying a word until now only deepened Luo Jinxiao’s frustration.

“Let go,” Qu Weiyin said, taking advantage of Luo Jinxiao’s surprise to break free from her grasp. She stood up and turned her back to her, adding, “It’s just some demonic energy. I’ll handle it myself.”

“But you just recently struggled to even control your sword!” Luo Jinxiao exclaimed, her eyes reddening as a wave of sour emotion surged in her heart.

The frustration was palpable too. She didn’t even know what she was mad about: whether it was Qu Weiyin’s reckless disregard for her own well-being or her tendency to keep everything hidden from Luo Jinxiao.

When Qu Weiyin turned back, she happened to see two clear tears sliding down Luo Jinxiao’s cheeks, falling to the floor with a light *plop.* Though the droplets were small, the sound echoed in Qu Weiyin’s heart like a thunderous crash.

Qu Weiyin’s delicate brows furrowed slightly, and she sighed with resignation.

“I’m really fine,” she said, shaking her head as she slowly approached Luo Jinxiao. Seeing her eyes reddened from crying, Qu Weiyin couldn’t help but feel an urge to smile.

She rarely softened her tone, now trying her best to appear gentle.

“I already have some demonic energy lingering in me; it’s nothing serious. Moreover, that person’s malevolent technique has the ability to consume celestial veins. It can’t just be forced out, it can only be absorbed. It’s fine for me, but you’re not strong enough for this.”

“Enough with the childish antics; go rest up. We have important matters to attend to tomorrow.” Qu Weiyin reached out to grasp Luo Jinxiao’s arm, but Luo Jinxiao countered by holding onto her wrist.

Qu Weiyin was taken aback and looked up at her.

“Master Uncle, let me heal you,” Luo Jinxiao said, sniffing as her nose turned red.

“No need,” Qu Weiyin replied just as Luo Jinxiao grabbed and pulled her back onto the bed. Qu Weiyin stumbled slightly but managed to sit down with her hands propping her up, narrowly avoiding collapsing backward.

“Luo Jinxiao!” Qu Weiyin frowned, her eyes filled with reproach.

“Right now, you can’t even beat me,” Luo Jinxiao muttered under her breath, irritation in her tone.

Hearing this, Qu Weiyin, annoyed, raised her delicate fingers as if about to truly strike her. To her surprise, Luo Jinxiao didn’t even flinch but instead leaned in closer.

“Go ahead and hit me if you want, Master Uncle. Anyway, I won’t leave until you’re healed today,” Luo Jinxiao said, lowering her head.

Qu Weiyin paused for a moment, then slowly lowered her hand. Her gaze softened considerably, perhaps due to her weakness; her usual sharp demeanor had entirely dissipated.

In a gentle gesture, she reached out and wiped away the tear that had slipped down Luo Jinxiao’s chin.

“Why are you crying so easily at this age?” Qu Weiyin shook her head.

Then, with a hint of self-mockery, she added, “But you’re only in your teenage years; you really are still quite young.”

Luo Jinxiao lifted her skirt and sat at the head of the bed, using her spiritual energy to mend Qu Weiyin’s damaged celestial veins. The two of them fell into a comfortable silence, but Qu Weiyin’s brows were tightly knit, and her palms clenched into fists as she attempted to endure the discomfort.

Seeing her like this only made Luo Jinxiao’s heart ache more, yet she didn’t know how to ease Qu Weiyin’s suffering.

The thin gown Qu Weiyin wore had become damp with sweat, clinging to her skin, and cool beads of perspiration trickled down her smooth flesh as if she had been caught in a heavy rain.

Even though her features were tense with pain, she remained stunningly beautiful.

As Luo Jinxiao worked on healing her, she couldn’t help but let her eyes trace the elegant lines of Qu Weiyin’s face, becoming lost in her mesmerizing appearance.

Suddenly, Qu Weiyin coughed a few times, her body leaning back limply. Luo Jinxiao was startled and quickly reached out to catch her, pulling her back upright.

Qu Weiyin then rested her head against Luo Jinxiao’s shoulder.

The warm, soft touch rendered Luo Jinxiao momentarily frozen. She swallowed hard a couple of times before gingerly supporting Qu Weiyin, wrapping her arm around Qu Weiyin’s shoulders, and gradually lying her down on the bed.

Qu Weiyin’s complexion was even paler than usual, and she turned over, sinking into a deep sleep, or perhaps she slipped into unconsciousness. Fortunately, the chaotic demonic energy in her body had settled, and her celestial veins had become more stable.

Luo Jinxiao channeled more of her spiritual energy into Qu Weiyin and let out a sigh of relief. Standing up straight, she considered getting some water to wipe away Qu Weiyin’s sweat.

She asked a waiter from the tavern for a bucket of hot water and carried it upstairs. Dipping a cloth into the water, she carefully wiped away the sweat lingering on Qu Weiyin’s skin—from her cheeks to her delicate neck, and then down to her arms concealed by her robe.

While there were supernatural methods to resolve such issues, Luo Jinxiao felt that this way held more sincerity.

Qu Weiyin’s figure was exquisite; even lying down, her body displayed graceful curves, her white robe smooth like water, accentuating her slender and elegant form.

As Luo Jinxiao wiped away the sweat, she felt her cheeks inexplicably heat up. She froze for a moment, pressing the cloth against her face, silently chiding herself for her inappropriate thoughts about her Master Uncle.

Qu Weiyin had just rescued her, and here she was acting so frivolously—what a disgrace for someone affiliated with the righteous path!

Realizing she couldn’t continue in this manner, she tossed the cloth into the water and extended her index finger to cast a spell. Instantly, Qu Weiyin’s body dried. Luo Jinxiao quietly observed as she covered her with a blanket, sitting beside her in a daze.

Qu Weiyin seemed to be in a deep slumber, mumbling in her sleep and reaching out from under the blanket, searching for something.

Luo Jinxiao quickly grasped her hand and whispered, “Master Uncle?”

But Qu Weiyin didn’t respond. Once Qu Weiyin’s hand found something to hold onto, her anxiety seemed to dissipate; she held on tightly to Luo Jinxiao’s hand, resting it against her chest as she sank back into a deep sleep.

A wave of sorrow washed over Luo Jinxiao. Kneeling by the bed, she rested her chin on the edge, quietly watching Qu Weiyin.

The bloodthirsty Demon Lord from the rumors lay defenseless before her now.

“Master Uncle, I shouldn’t be angry with you; you’re only doing this for my sake,” Luo Jinxiao murmured softly, squeezing Qu Weiyin’s delicate hand.

“As long as I’m here, I will never let you succumb to demonic power again.” Luo Jinxiao whispered gently.

As the morning light filtered through the window, it bathed the bed in a soft glow, the bright rays resembling a thin veil that stirred Qu Weiyin from her dreams.

Squinting against the glaring light, Qu Weiyin tried to lift her hand to shield her eyes, but after a couple of attempts, she found she couldn’t raise it at all.

Resigned, she switched hands and managed to sit up. However, upon taking in her surroundings, her hand went weak, and she almost fell back onto the bed.

“Luo Jinxiao,” she said through gritted teeth, her voice low.

Luo Jinxiao was in a deep slumber, her hand instinctively tightening into a fist and pulling closer to herself.

“Luo Jinxiao!” Qu Weiyin raised her voice in frustration, finally jolting Luo Jinxiao awake. She sprang up from the bed, eyes still bleary as she looked around.

“Let go of me,” Qu Weiyin said, suppressing her anger and attempting to maintain a calm facade.

It was only then that Luo Jinxiao realized what was happening. Panicking, she hurriedly released Qu Weiyin’s hand, clasping her own behind her back, her expression still dazed.

Qu Weiyin pulled back her hot, clammy hand to her side and threw off the covers, getting out of bed to put on her outer garments. She concentrated, using her energy to check her body. Thanks to Luo Jinxiao’s assistance, her celestial veins were nearly restored. Aside from feeling a bit weak, there were no other issues.

“You slept like this all night?” Qu Weiyin asked, trying to conceal her embarrassment.

Now fully awake, Luo Jinxiao nodded. She attempted to stand up but discovered that her legs were numb from kneeling for so long. Not only did she fail to rise, but she also stumbled and fell to the floor.

Qu Weiyin’s expression softened a little. Turning around, she shook her head, and a pale golden aura enveloped Luo Jinxiao, lifting her gently from the ground.

“Rest for now. I have matters to attend to,” Qu Weiyin said.

As soon as Qu Weiyin finished speaking, she strode toward the door. However, just as she pulled it open, she collided with Tang Lan’er, who was returning from downstairs.

The two stood face-to-face in the doorway. Tang Lan’er, holding a roast chicken, turned her head to peer into the room. In shock, the chicken leg slipped from her fingers and fell to the floor. Her mouth fell open as she pointed inside, then back at Qu Weiyin, exclaiming, “You two slept like this last night?”

Qu Weiyin’s gaze was icy as she locked eyes with Tang Lan’er, responding coldly, “Yes. What is it to you?”

“N-no, not at all,” Tang Lan’er quickly shook her head, a layer of sweat beading on her back. She thought to herself that this woman hadn’t seemed so intimidating before, but now, just a single sentence made her heart race in a way that felt like it could leap out of her chest.

“Then step aside,” Qu Weiyin stated flatly, her expression expressionless, but an unmistakable aura of “keep away” radiated from her.

At her words, Tang Lan’er hurriedly retreated. Just then, Luo Jinxiao, having regained mobility in her legs, called out to Qu Weiyin, asking where she was going.

Qu Weiyin’s expression changed instantly. She turned back and said, “You’re tired too, so rest a bit. I have urgent matters to attend to, but I will be back shortly.”

Though her tone remained calm, her eyes seemed to soften and lighten, almost as if they were mixed with water, becoming clear and gentle.

Tang Lan’er looked incredulous, glancing between the room and Qu Weiyin before hurriedly bidding her farewell, her face as red as a cherry as she turned and fled quickly.

Qu Weiyin watched her go for a moment before retracting her gaze. In an instant, her figure transformed into a beam of light, disappearing from the doorway.

Luo Jinxiao rolled over on the bed, feeling her face heat up from her forehead down to the nape of her neck. How could she have made such a fool of herself in front of Qu Weiyin? It was truly embarrassing.

She let out a small wail and began pounding her fists against the bed in frustration.

At noon, the people from No Regrets Sect arrived in the small town and began their demon-slaying efforts. Luo Jinxiao assisted half-heartedly, but as demons were sparse during the day, she soon found herself with little to do, wandering aimlessly around the town.

Qu Weiyin was nowhere to be seen; she hadn’t appeared since the morning, which worried Luo Jinxiao. With Qu Weiyin’s recovery still incomplete and the remnants of demonic energy affecting her, Luo Jinxiao couldn’t shake the anxiety that something terrible might happen again.

As she strolled along the flowing river, she suddenly heard footsteps behind her. Luo Jinxiao turned sharply, only to find Lu Fanzhi’s excited face beaming back at her.

“You’re here!” Luo Jinxiao breathed a sigh of relief.

“I heard that Master Uncle Qu and you defeated the demons and saved our fellow disciples, so both Luo Ning and I came. She’s probably patrolling right now while I sneaked out to find you,” Lu Fanzhi said, slapping Luo Jinxiao on the shoulder carelessly as she pulled her along to continue wandering.

“Where’s Yan Ying?” Luo Jinxiao asked.

“Why are you suddenly so concerned about her? She’s been acting like a completely different person lately, not even arguing with Luo Ning anymore. It’s quite odd,” Lu Fanzhi remarked, shaking her head.

Luo Jinxiao murmured in response, having sensed that Yan Ying’s behavior seemed a bit strange.

“I haven’t asked you yet—what’s going on between you and Master Uncle Qu?” Lu Fanzhi leaned in with a curious expression.

Luo Jinxiao tensed up, pretending to be nonchalant. She smiled and said, “Me and Master Uncle? What about it?”

“I just met that rather charming girl who asked me about your relationship with Master Uncle Qu. I told her you were just fellow disciples, but she looked skeptical and said she saw you two sharing a bed earlier.”

“Don’t hide things from me! The inn is so big, and you could’ve taken any room. Why did you have to go to Master Uncle’s room?”

Upon hearing this, Luo Jinxiao’s face immediately flushed with warmth. She quickly covered Lu Fanzhi’s mouth, exclaiming in anger, “Stop your nonsense! Master Uncle was injured. I went to her room to help her recover. You shouldn’t think of anything else!”

Lu Fanzhi pried Luo Jinxiao’s hand away, asking, “Then why were you so tired last night?”
