Eunchae

“Nothing serious, just some business stuff.”, Chaewon assured me.

I didn’t really believe her though. Why would they argue that loud just over business things even though they didn’t know each other that well. I wasn’t oblivious after all.

“So nobody knows that you’re the daughter of the Lee’s?”, Thyme mustered me.

“Are you dumb?”, Chaewon rolled her eyes at Thyme’s question.

“What? I was just asking a question!”, the brown haired huffed and crossed his arms.

“Yeah, a very dumb question!”, my best friend glared at the leader of F4, the other three boys just watching their argument.

I cleared my throat and sat down on my bed, shifting my gaze between Thyme and Chaewon, not really knowing how to act. They both stopped talking and looked at me though after my small action.

“Why are you here though?”, I asked mainly Thyme but actually every one of the four boys sitting on my couch.

“I already told you!”, Thyme rolled his eyes.

“Yeah but why did you wanna come to my room if you don’t even like me?”, I gulped before wondering out loud.

“I…I didn’t want to! They did!”, Thyme blinked a few times before pointing at the other three boys, who sat next to him.

Kavin chuckled before turning to me. “He was worrying about you because of the incident in sch-“, the boy with glasses was quickly cut off by the other brown haired, who put his hand on Kavin’s mouth to shut him up.

“No I wasn’t! Mj and Ren were!”

I smiled at the thought of Thyme worrying about me. It reminded me of my two brothers, who sadly were busy with their work all of the time but still proceeded to be their overprotective selfs. His reaction and apology back in the school really sounded sincere and hearing him now worrying about my condition made my feeling about the rumors being wrong grow stronger.

“Wait…which incident?”, Chaewon turned to me making me widen my eyes and look everywhere but my best friend. The ground really looked interesting all of a sudden.

“Oh that? Nothing serious haha”, I laughed it off but still didn’t look her in the eyes which probably gave my lie away.

“Nothing serious? Didn’t really look like that back there!”, Mj exclaimed but was soon shushed by Kavin, who had noticed my attempt in lying and tried to help me hide the incident, Ren only observing the situation.

“Eunchae? Did you have an asthma attack again?”, Chaewon took my hands in hers and softly caressed them to make me tell her the truth.

I sighed before slowly nodding, knowing there wouldn’t be any point in hiding it from her anyway. Chaewon was always there for me even though I had this condition which wasn’t really making it easy for both of us to live a normal life, so it would be unfair to not tell her. She always knew everything about my current state and recent attacks so she could help me deal with it better.

“I’m sorry. Thyme and I teased each other and I forgot about it and started running”, I bit my lip as I started explaining to her, the boys listening.

My bestfriend engulfed me into a soft hug as I still avoided eye contact with her, but I could practically feel Chaewon glaring holes into Thyme while stroking my back in a comforting manner.

“Eunchae could you please get me a glass of water?”, Chaewon smiled at me as soon as she broke the hug.

I quickly nodded and returned the same action before leaving my room and heading towards the kitchen, eager to escape the situation anyway. It was really awkward to talk about my condition in front of the boys even though I knew that they probably had already figured out what had happened, but it was still a little embarrassing for me.

“Oh Eunchae! Do you need something?”, Chalita gave me a warm hearting smile as soon as I entered the big kitchen, Anchali standing next to her and showing me the same reaction when seeing me.

Chalita and Anchali were our two head maids. They always served every food and at least one of them was always present if we needed something, during the daytime of course. But I like to consider them as my friends more than referring to them as our maids. My parents and brothers weren’t spending much time at home due to their works, so most of the time the two just looked after me. But I guess today was special as Thyme’s mother spent us, or more like my parents, a visit.

“Just a glass of water please!”, I smiled at both of them, Chalita already turning around to prepare said thing for me.

“So I heard the F4 is here?”, Anchali raised her eyebrows while leaning back on the counter.

“Yup! They and Chaewon are in my room right now.”, I sat down on one of the chairs at the countertop and locked eye contact with her.

“You know I heard them fighting while trying to bring you snacks a little ago. Chaewon didn’t really seem happy about their presence!”, Chalita chuckled and handed me the glass of water.

“Yeah they don’t really get along well, but I’ll fix that!”, I smiled and stood up again.

“Tell us if you need something!”, both of them also had a smile plastered on their lips as I nodded and left the kitchen, heading back to my room.

I sighed when I heard loud voices coming from my room. Taking a deep breath I opened the door with one hand and held the glass with the other one. Everything went quiet as soon as I entered the room and approached the five.

“Is everythink okay?”, I handed the glass to Chaewon and sat down on my bed again, the sudden silence being a little suspicious.

“Everything’s okay, don’t worry”, Ren smiled at me while finally saying something.

I just nodded, not really believing him as Chaewon and Thyme looked like they were about to kill each other with their glares and the other two F4 members rather looked shocked. What happened between them? I wasn’t even gone that long!

“I think it’s better if we go now, see you tomorrow.”, Kavin stood up after some time of silence and sent me an apologetic smile while turning towards the door. The others did the same as him and soon all the four of them were gone.

“What happened Unnie?”, I turned towards my best friend as soon as the vanished, trying to find out what they had talked about.

“Thyme’s an asshole! That happened!”, she gritted her teeth as I gulped but took the glass out of her hands and set it on my bed side table, concerned she would break it otherwise.

“I’m sorry, let’s not talk about it okay?”, she shortly rubbed her temples before sending me a small smile but the anger was still visible in her eyes.

I just nodded before engulfing her into a soft hug. To see such an angry side of her was new to me. Never had I seen Chaewon so furious over the behavior of other people. She normally was a very nice and polite person especially in my presence, but seeing her like this made me think about the whole situation.

Maybe F4 weren’t as nice as I thought.
