Reader POV

We had spent ages looking for squishy, just for Bonnie, but to no avail, we couldn’t find it. It was such a shame to see Bonnie so sad. We sat around the fire, the atmosphere was dreadful.

“Sweetie, you need to eat something.” I looked at her from across the fire, sewing my costume for the next showcase.

“But squishy is out there! I need to find them!” She cried, out. Clemont tried to hold her back in fear of losing her.

“I’ll take one more lap around the forest, if that would make you happy?” I knelt down beside her.

“Absolutely not! There are so many pokemon around, you could get hurt.” Clemont argued.

I did little to fight in the opposing corner as I knew that Clemont was right.

“In that case, we can search for Squishy tomorrow.” I replied.

As the child was put to bed, we all gathered around the, Ash, Serena, Clemont and I.

“Those people with the funny hairdo’s. Who are they?” Ash asked.

“Trouble, that’s who.” I replied. “However, they aren’t like team rocket. If anything, they seem much more threatening.” 

“Lets not worry ourselves any longer. Lets just go to sleep and continue the search in the morning.” Clemont ushered us all into our tents and we had slept for the night.

In the Morning.

As the morning had arrived, we had packed up the tents and began day two of the search for squishy. Clemont made an invention for Bonnie, it was supposed to track down Squishy.

“I hope you’re right Mr. Scientist.” I huffed.

“I do to.” Clemont said under his breath.

Within seconds of it being turned on, it shot off towards a clearing. We then heard and explosion, we had ran towards the clearing to see a huge crowd of Toxicroak. I knew things weren’t going to plan out the best. As they began to attack us. I blocked a sludge bomb from hitting Bonnie. We then broke off into full speed racer. Bonnie and I had fallen off of a cliff face. However the other three managed to survive. Bonnie and I had to run and hide before getting hit by more Toxicroak, which had followed us down the mountain.

“Meowstic! Use psychic!” I shouted, throwing the pokeball out. Meowstic had used psychic, causing the Toxicroak to faint.

“Y/n!” Bonnie pulled my hand and we ran towards a river. Looking at my hand, my veins had turned purple, they were pulsating. Suddenly, I felt lightheaded. It appeared that I had been poisoned from that sludge bomb.

“This is all my fault!” Bonnie cried. 

“No sweetie, its not your fault.” I held her face. “I need to find a specific flower, It has medicinal properties which cures poison.

“I’ll find it.” Bonnie said.

“Its too dangerous to go by yourself.” I stood up and tied my arm up tightly. “This should stop the poison from travelling through my body for now.”

We had to scale a huge mountain, get attacked by many pokemon, which we barely managed to take down. However we managed to make it to where we needed to be. However we stopped for a minute as my poisoning got extremely bad. This also sparked the conversation.

“Bonnie?” I asked. “Why do you want Clemont to get married so badly?”

“Because, he can’t take care of himself, he takes care of everyone else; no one takes care of him.” She said as she scaled the tree to grab the blooming flower.

“I care for him; I care for you too.” I chuckled, coughing up purple sludge.

“What are you saying Y/n?” Bonnie jumped down from the tree and handed me the flower.

“I love Clemont, and I’d be willing to take care of him, just as much as he takes care of me…” I admitted.

“Oh yeah, I knew that you liked him.” Bonnie chuckled, my face dropped. “You two just need to get together already, I’m starting to get really bored.”

“What do you mean?” I coughed, ripping off the petals of the flower and digesting them, immediately feeling 1000x better. 

“The way that Clemont looks into your beautiful eyes; The way you longingly wish to be held in his arms!” Bonnie pranced around the rocky floor. My jaw was on the ground. My poisoned body felt so much better now, it was unreal how the pain instantly lifted. 

“Bonnie! Y/n!” We turned to see Clemont rush towards us. “I’m so glad you’re both ok.”

“I’m fine, Y/n helped us out a lot.” Bonnie chuckled.

“Thank you, thank you so much Y/n.” Clemont pulled me into a hug.

“For Arceus sake!” Bonnie groaned. “Just kiss already!” 

“What?” The both of us turned bright red. 

“Just do it!” The girl began throwing small pebbles at us.

“I don’t mind if you don’t…” I mumbled. Without any hesitation, Clemont and I shared a sweet kiss together. Bonnie gasped and we had put our hands in front of our mouths to block her vision.

“Congratulations.” Serena and Ash cheered, appearing from what seemed like nowhere. “It was quite obvious you two needed to be together.” 

“Really?” I asked.

“Yes…” Clemont huffed.

“What’s going on?” I looked at Clemont with a confused expression.

“When we were in Anistar City, I had gone to Olympia the day we left and asked her if she could tell my future.” Clemont started.

Flashback- Clemont POV

“Lady Olympia, please read me my future.” I asked the opulent woman who stood in front of me.

“My dear child, your future would be spoiled if I had read it out to you plainly.” She replied.

“I just want to ask one thing!” I shouted as she turned to leave.

“What may that thing be?” Olympia turned around to face me once more.

“Will I ever find someone who I will spend my life with.” I cried out, I felt so embarrassed as there were so many scholars floating about, they started laughing when I said that.

“My child, I will tell you one thing.” She then projected a picture of a smiling Y/n, his smile made me giddy inside. “Treat him right, battle through the hardships together and things will head only but up.” 

“Thank you Olympia.” I smiled widely and left the Gym.

End of Flashback- Y/n POV

“Wow.” I was in a state of shock. The sun began to set. Clemont and I held hands and we had walked down the mountain together. We had trailed in the back, talking and holding hands.

“C’mon lover boys’!” Bonnie chuckled. I noticed something rustle in Bonnies’ pocket.

“Check your pocket.” I smiled, her face was in disbelief as she was greeted with a smiling squishy.

“Squishy! I missed you so much!” She cried.

And just like that, it was another end to two day’s of searching for Squishy and we were now back on course, heading towards Snowbell City.
