“I’m surprised you actually brought her along,” Carmen stated as I stood next to them on the street. “She doesn’t seem the type to be a part of these things.”
I just looked over at Cathrine who pushed a bubble from her gum out her mouth and it popped.
Warren just leaned against another motorcycle, tipping his head back as he watched me curiously.
Damon just gazed up with a smile. “You don’t know her, I’m afraid. She doesn’t look the type to enjoy danger, does she?”
They all looked over at me, and I blinked.
“What?” I said then. “Why are you staring at me?”
Cathrine just popped another bubble, chewing on her gum seconds later. “I don’t know, Alpha. She looks normal to me.”
Damon just glanced over at me with a smile.
I watched him back. “I honestly have no idea what’s happening.”
“I know,” he responded as they still watched me.
“I feel uncomfortable when people stare at me,” I stated then.
Damon just smiled. “Would you rather us stare at your breasts?”
“I mean….”
“I was joking,” he said then, annoyed.
“Bummer,” I responded, gazing down as I squished them. “You’re so small that no one notices you.”
“Winter, stop,” Damon said in his alpha tone.
I gazed over at him then, smiling now. “What are you gonna do, kill me?”
His lashes lowered over his green eyes. “Are you testing me?”
“Yes.”
“Winter, he’s not the nicest person to be around when you piss him off,” Carmen stated. “Try not to antagonize him, okay?”
“Why?” I said then. “It’s cute. He gets all red and fumy.”
Carmen and Cathrine exchanged a look.
Damon just lowered his lashes. “Winter.”
“Get as mad as you want,” I said then, smiling now. “You know you can’t hurt me.”
Everyone silenced then, and they all just stared at me for a long while.
“Alpha…” Carmen said then, “have you… showed her what we do?”
“Let me answer this question,” I said as Damon glanced over at me in boredom, “he took me to a haunted house during the Winter Circus, and then he blindfolded me, we played chase in the house of mirrors, he took me to another funhouse circus contraption where someone tried to kill me and he killed them, and then he—”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” Warren said then, gazing over at Damon. “You… you killed in front of her, Alpha?”
Damon glanced over at him. “Yup. Knife right in the eye.”
I smiled giddily. “He has such good aim.”
All three of his underlings just stared at me for a long moment, as if they just met me all over again.
“She’s insane,” Carmen stated.
“Yup,” Cathrine responded, popping her gum again.
Damon just smiled. “She can come with us. If anything, she’d enjoy it.”
“Are we going to kill people?” I asked then, clapping my hands.
“Sadly, not,” Damon said more out of amusement, “we are going on a fun paint bomb spree, though. The police hate us for it, but the college students enjoy it very much.”
My eyes sparkled. “I’m coming with?”
“Of course you are,” he said then, smiling, “you’re one of us now.”
I tried to resist jumping in excitement.
“Are you ready?” Damon said to everyone.
Warren just smirked, lowering a black, expressionless mask over his face.
Carmen and Cathrine pulled some black eye-covering masks from their packs and pulled them on.
Damon gazed over at me, lashes lowering when he tugged something from his pocket.
I gazed down at it, blinking when I found a black masquerade mask in his hand—with a bright, purple feather tied to the side, and lavender embroidery.
“I thought this might suit you well,” he said to me.
I watched as he set it on my face and tied it behind my head, and afterward he pulled the hood of my jacket down to conceal my hair.
He stepped back and smiled, pulling his own mask down.
My eyes sparkled when I realized it was one of those cool white Halloween masks with upside-down U eyes and another U-shaped smile.
I shook in excitement…
Scary.
Warren just smirked, swinging his leg over his motorcycle. “Well? Where to tonight, Alpha?”
Damon pulled his bike out from the garage on our right and swung his leg over it. “I think we should go down main street.”
“Hit the police right in the face?” Cathrine said then, shrugging. “Aight.”
As Carmen and Cathrine got onto their motorcycle, Damon just gazed over at me. “Swing on, Angel.”
I stepped over and straddled his bike.
“Wrap your arms around me,” Damon instructed, amused.
I sighed, feigning annoyance. “Fiiiiiine.”
I listened then, giving him a backwards bear hug as he revved his bike.
Warm…
And we suddenly sped off.
I gasped, clutching onto him tighter as a sudden hollow feeling coursed through me, and I smiled, releasing him a little and gazing into the night.
It was hard to see with the wind blowing in my eyes, so I had to lower my face back to his shirt, burying myself in it.
And about twenty seconds later, Damon and his underlings slowed to a stop, their tires skittering to a stop when a bunch of people gathered around main street, conversing and laughing.
“GUESS WHAT TIME IT ISSSSSS!” Damon called then, making the chatter stop. “IT’S THE SINNER’S HOUR!”
He suddenly caught something from the compartment of his motorcycle and slammed it onto the sidewalk, and I yelped when a loud boom! echoed through the streets.
Everyone shouted when green smoke burst through the air, wafting toward the viewers.
Cathrine just pulled out her phone and clicked on it, and a sudden loud, booming music echoed from the speakers of her bike.
Warren and Carmen threw two other smoke bombs onto the ground, and blueish-yellow dust burst into the air.
The moment we heard sirens from a distance, Damon smirked and revved his bike.
We sped off again, and I clutched onto him tightly when a couple police cars arrived at the scene behind us.
The music kept booming, and I looked at Damon when he glanced back at me.
Do you think you’re bad? His voice echoed through my thoughts. Do you want to have fun?
I nodded. Yes.
His chuckled echoed through my thoughts. Then do as I say. I have to drive, you throw the bombs.
I gazed up then, excitement coursing through me.
I just reached around him when the sirens screamed from behind us, immediately starting to our location.
When I caught a bomb, I tossed it behind me.
A large, red smoke burst right in front of the police car, and I heard the tires screech at the impact.
Damon just chuckled. You have alarming aim.
I just smirked and caught another bomb, swinging it to a couple pedestrians walking by me.
It burst green smoke in front of them, and they screamed in fear.
I laughed.
Yes, yes, I did.
I laughed.
Damon sped forward as more sirens came from our right.
I just smirked and pulled another smoke bomb out, closing one eye as the sirens came toward the end of the alleyway.
I tossed the bomb, and it exploded right in front of it again, making them stop immediately.
I just smirked and gazed back forward as we sped further down the streets as Cathrine, Carmen, and Warren continued to toss bombs at the oncoming officers.
“There!” Damon yelled then. “Aim for that building!”
I glanced over at it, finding the police station on our right, and I smirked, grabbing the last bomb as I aimed…
And I shot right as the other three did.
A bundle of green, purple, and blue smoke burst through the air, and I smirked when I heard millions of officer’s screaming in fear as they exited the office.
I looked back forward when we sped off.
Have fun getting that off your white paint.
Damon was right… this was definitely not legal…
But it sure of hell was fun.
