Jiang Tian Got Me to Pass This to You, He Said That You Left It in His Bag.
Sheng Wang was a little stumped.
He truly wanted to know when Jiang Tian would sleep only, he did not expect the other person to reply with that at all. The development of events went way out of hand, the young master was caught completely off guards.
Even more off guarded, was that there was soon a knock at his room’s door. Sheng Wang froze for two seconds, and quickly went to open the door with a shuffle of his slippers.
Jiang Tian stood outside of the door, the hand that knocked was holding a loose leaf notebook, the other hand was scrolling through his phone.
It’s already so late, yet he had plenty of official business to deal with, Sheng Wang thought idly.
Like last time round, Jiang Tian did not look left and right when he entered. He was talking to someone about something, and walked straight to the table as he typed.
Sheng Wang followed right behind him.
He finished typing the last few words right next to the table before he finally locked his phone and tossed it into his pocket. He turned to look at Sheng Wang’s corrections collection and asked, “Where are you stuck at?â€
Sheng Wang laughed dryly, “I wasn’t.â€
Jiang Tian shot a glimpse at the wall clock, “You’re not stuck but it’s already 2.30am?â€
“What’s this look of yours.†Sheng Wang wanted to hit someone. He was at the risk of losing his face. His finger knocked against the notebook as he said, “I’m self-studying, this speed is already not bad.â€
Jiang Tian casually flipped through a few pages with his eyes lowered, “Then what did you want to ask?â€
Sheng Wang couldn’t squeeze any question out.
He wanted to say ‘I actually didn’t mean it’, but if he seriously went with that, he dreaded that Jiang Tian would instantly walk away with a poker-face, and he would never have that patience ever again.
That means that he would have to spam him with tiny people on WeChat again.
Sheng Wang thought about the consequence, and felt he could also have this ‘meaning’.
“How about—†he rubbed his neck, putting his face at stakes and said, “how about you help me sort this out, what’s the typical difficulty level in the weekly test? I’ve only ever taken the test once, I can’t quite grasp it yet.â€
Not so long ago, this was what other people always said to him, he had never ever thought in a million years that the reverse would happen.
He thought that Jiang Tian, as a lucky person who had the fortune to hear this coming from him, should go buy a lottery ticket. After all, this line would only ever appear once, there was no way he would say it a second time.
Sheng Wang thought, self importantly.
There was only one chair in the bedroom. He graciously gave it up to Jiang Tian, and sat at the edge of the table with much familiar ease. He reached to the other side of the desk and fished out an empty notebook. He spun his pen as he said to Jiang Tian, “Done, you may begin.â€
Jiang Tian eyed his improper sitting position, and his thumb pressed down on the pen as he asked, “Can I draw on the collection?â€
“Up to you,†Sheng Wang said, “it will be torn out in the end anyways.â€
“Torn?â€
Sheng Wang explained, “I’ll just strike a question out if I have no more doubts after doing it two times, and then tear the page once it’s filled. Saves me from wasting the few seconds it takes to sweep through them again next time.â€
He himself was already this sloppy, Jiang Tian did not bother with being courteous anymore. He roughly looked through the collection, clicked his blue pen, and drew giant brackets around some questions.
As he drew, he said, “These few pages are key points.â€
“Don’t need to look at the main question for these two pages.â€
He crossed out a few pages with zero mercy while saying, “This part is not really useful.â€
“When you have time, give the remaining ones a look, if you didn’t it doesn’t really affect much anyway.â€
This person said four sentences in total. Out of 20+ pages, he folded five pages, bracketed six key questions, and passed the notebook to Sheng Wang. “Got it?â€
Sheng Wang: “……â€
He actually really did get it. He did have top-notch studying and understanding abilities after all, all he needed was a slight nudge. When Jiang Tian highlighted, he could already tell that the six key questions were the most synthetic questions, if he completely grasped them, he would not need to be terrified of the major questions in exams at all.
As for the remaining questions, they were basically repeating certain parts from these six questions, therefore he did not need to waste his time on them.
For objective questions, Jiang Tian picked those with a strange angle. There was no need to worry about objective questions during the exam at all. If he could figure out a coherent line of thought for these weird questions, then there should be basically no more issues.
Sheng Wang may have understood, but he still wanted to laugh.
He reached out to receive the booklet, and the other hand raised two fingers in pretense, “I have a question.â€
When this young master spoke, the long legs dangling at the side of the table lightly playfully swayed, just a look and one could tell he was up to no good.
“Speak.†Jiang Tian’s hand, which was delivering the notebook, paused in its journey.
“Have you seriously not been beaten up before when you went through the questions like that?†Sheng Wang started laughing halfway through as he spoke.
Jiang Tian just knew that he did not have any pleasant thing to say. The moment he heard, he immediately drew the notebook back.
Sheng Wang missed the notebook, and instantly behaved, he let out an ‘Ay’ and said, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, please don’t take it away. The book is mine.â€
Earlier on, in order to save time he did not even bother with drying his hair. At this moment, it was already thoroughly dried. The hair was uncombed, and with these two actions and a fuss it was messier than before.
Sheng Wang was able to grab the corrections collection with a reach of his hand, and sat back at the table again. His finger combed his hair for a while, blew the hair in front of his forehead, and finally started looking at the questions with his head down.
There was no longer anyone speaking, the room was abruptly quiet. The stillness in the late night in White Horse Alley slowly, quietly, submerged the room, like the rising tide. Behind Sheng Wang was a giant glass window, in some random bush outside, bugs stayed hidden, and distantly, muffledly chittered.
Out of his peripheral gaze, Jiang Tian did not get up to leave. He took his own loose leaf notebook from the table, leaned against the back of the chair and flipped through it. Sheng Wang took a quick look at him before retracting his gaze, and did not chase him back to his own bedroom to do so. Neither did he ask him how long it would take for him to finish it. He only drew a pen out from his pencil case, and started scribbling on his scratch paper.
After Jiang Tian’s bold and decisive chops and cancellations, he went through the corrections collection at an extremely speedy pace. He only took 10+ minutes from the start to end. Even so, it was nearly 3am.
The two people did not stay up so late before, both their eyelids were heavy at the end, they were basically competing to see who was sleepier. Even the notebooks and pens were kept in its entirety. After Jiang Tian returned to his room, Sheng Wang flopped onto his bed. He buried himself within his blankets in half-alive-half-dead state for a while, before he groped for his phone as if he remembered something.
He used his finger to pull at his eyelids, and mustered up his energy to open up the chat window with Jiang Tian. He bit the tip of his tongue as he sent a ‘oh yeah thank you’ with much hesitation, and locked his phone the moment it was sent. He tossed the phone aside and went back lying down again.
His consciousness almost immediately blurred out, even until the moment he completely fell asleep, he did not hear the phone vibrate at all. He reckoned Jiang Tian probably fell asleep faster than he did.
Second day, early in the morning, Jiang Ou and Auntie Sun went in and out of the kitchen as usual. Around 6.20am, the shuffling of footsteps could be heard from the staircase. Sheng Wang went downstairs with bleary eyes at the usual timing right on the dot.
Jiang Ou settled a bowl of shredded chicken porridge down on the table, and beckoned Sheng Wang to come sit down, while saying on instinct, ‘Xiao-Tian, wait for him a bit.â€
Sheng Wang followed the voice and looked towards the living room, and saw not a single person. He looked towards the entryway, and there was still no one next to the shoe cabinet.
He paused for a moment, and was just about to ask before he heard Jiang Ou slap her hand to her head, and said, “Ay, this head of mind, Xiao-Tian isn’t down yet.â€
She pushed the bowl of porridge towards Sheng Wang, and could not help but mutter, “How strange, he didn’t dawdle in bed before, what day is this even?â€
At that moment, Sheng Wang had the guilty conscience of a thief for some reason.
In the end, Jiang Tian went down later than he did by two minutes. Sheng Wang glanced at the staircase as he listened to the footsteps, and then drank his porridge to the sound of Jiang Ou muttering, nearly burying his entire face inside.

The exam teachers pasted seat numbers for Class A and B and the other 12 overnight. This morning, when Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian entered the classroom, their seats were already filled with unfamiliar faces.
Their tables were at the back, one 44 and the other 45, and just nice both were taken by students from other classes.
The moment the boy who sat at table 45 saw that it was Jiang Tian’s table, he immediately rubbed his hands together, “What the heck is this godly seat, if I touch it a couple of times, can I score better?â€
Jiang Tian was bending over to retrieve the things he needed for the exam from the inside of the table. After he heard, he stood straight and glanced at his hand, his face completely written with ‘Why are you so prissy.’
When this person wasn’t smiling, he emanated enough frost to freeze the heavens and ice the ground, and he still had an air of arrogance coming right out of him.
That boy instantly shrunk his hand back. Yet, even if he did not have the guts to touch the table, someone did. Gao Tianyang, while holding his pencil case, brazenly pushed Sheng Wang over there as he said, “Here, the two of us get a touch each, maybe next exam we wouldn’t be exiled downstairs.
Sheng Wang praised, “Good idea.â€
Gao Tianyang said, “You go first, I’ll follow up.â€
Sheng Wang echoed after Gao Tianyang for the sake of it, he did not actually have the intention to touch at all. In the end, the moment he looked up and saw Jiang Tian’s indescribable gaze, for some reason, he suddenly was in the mood to tease. He reached out for a touch, and after a touch he escaped.
Gao Tianyang chased after him, and exclaimed, ‘Aiyo what the heck this is hilarious, you didn’t catch it, but my Tian-ge’s face……â€
These two were roughly peas of the same problematic pod, they both had to head downstairs. Gao Tianyang’s seat was #2 in Class 3. Sheng Wang was worse off, he was #8 in Class 5.
Though he only just transferred over, his face was already relatively famous, when he entered Class 5 he even caused an uproar. It wasn’t only because he’s hot, it was also because everyone knew he came down from Class A.
The reason for his bad grades was known to Class A, but that did not mean that other classes knew too. He just sat down in his seat when he vaguely heard two people’s whispering, to his rightish-front, “This score is pretty bad, how did he even make it into Class A?â€
“There’s discount for inter-school transfers?â€
“That works too? If only I knew I wouldn’t have tested for Fuzhong, I would have gone to Erzhong, made my way into the strong class, and transferred. Maybe I would have been in Class A by now.â€
Sheng Wang dug out his pencil case from his bag, and treated these as a joke.
He wasn’t a particularly modest type of person, as he heard he gave them corrective remarks in his head, his mouth even sprouted, “Can you guys be a little softer? It would be so terribly embarrassing if I end up hearing you.â€
Two girls at the side ‘pffted’ into laughter, the few gossipy ones instantly went red in the face, whipping around and saying, “Who’s embarrassing?â€
Sheng Wang said, “Not me for sure.â€
“Fuck.†Those people were incredibly frustrated, and yet they knew they were the ones who were in the wrong, and could only keep it to themselves.
“Why are you so amusing,†the two girls giggled.
Sheng Wang thought they vaguely looked familiar, but due to his facial blindness, he could not recall where he saw them from.
The girl close to him suddenly covered her mouth, pointed the few boys and said breathily, “These are the boys well known for their scumminess in the level, they would do any stupid thing. If you run into them in the next exam room, you should stay away from them, saves you some trouble.â€
Sheng Wang laughed, and played along by covering his mouth, “Next time round, I definitely wouldn’t be in the same exam room.â€
“Why are you so unhumble?â€
As they spoke, the other girl suddenly frantically slapped at this girl’s arm, saying “Outside the door, outside!â€
“What’s outside the door?â€
Sheng Wang looked up with this girl, only to see Jiang Tian’s figure flash by, leaving from the classroom entrance.
“Jiang Tian?!â€
“Why is Jiang Tian here?†The two girls muttered.
Sheng Wang suddenly recalled why they were vaguely familiar then. The two girls came over to stuff small gifts and notes to Jiang Tian during PE lesson, but they were both rejected.
A boy who just entered made his way over in a light jog, a familiar looking loose leaf notebook in his hand.
Sheng Wang focused, and internally said, isn’t that my correction collection?
Just as expected, that boy placed the notebook on his desk and said, “Jiang Tian got me to pass this to you, he said that you left it in his bag.â€
The two girls, as well as the students who heard this, all violently whipped their head around.
Sheng Wang was more confused than they were.
TO BE CONTINUED.
