Master Qingchen looked at the pattern on the ground which was formed by the turtle armor pieces and didn’t say anything for a long time. Just as Song Qinghan thought he was asleep, he finally moved his lips slightly and uttered, “Almsgiver, please forgive me to say that you might have met vile character in your recent life, and I’m afraid that you might be going to encounter a man-made calamity. Yet if you are able to get through it, the brightest future is waiting for you. And, for the bigger picture, the folks will be blessed by that too.â€
Song Qinghan was again showing a face of astonishment. He did comprehend about the fact that he had met vile character himself because Wang Huailing and Lin Dafu showed up recently which was totally beyond his expectation, and moreover, he ignited Su Tingting who seemingly came from a noble family. In that case, it wouldn’t be strange for him to encounter a man-made calamity, but, what was the relation with the folks? Or did he bear a responsibility to rescue the livelihood?
Noticing that Song Qinghan was completely confused, Master Qingchen explained slowly, “It’s complicated than you think in your mind. Seeing is not always believing, you have to feel it by your heart. Only by that can you get a closer approach to the divine will.â€
Well, it would be better if Master Qingchen didn’t explain. Now by the explanation it seemed to be obscurer.
Isn’t that just a simple calamity? To feel the calamity by heart? What is the logic? Should he figure out the real intention in a further consideration if he was seized on both sides by the arms?
However, Master Qingchen didn’t seem to have any willingness to continue to explain, he just uttered with an expression of exhaustion, “Almsgiver, I have told you all I should tell, confidential matters shall not be divulged too much in advance, otherwise the hearer might be in danger.â€
Song Qinghan nodded, put his hands together and thanked Master Qingchen. After that, he left together with that little monk outwards.
But how easy would that be if he was not allowed to peek at the confidential matters?
Song Qinghan repeated thinking of the words Master Qingchen said to him. However, no matter how hard he tried, he failed to conceived of any idea.
When Wu Dahu saw Song Qinghan’s bad expression, a cold light flashed in his eyes. He frowned and said, “Did the Master say something rude to you?â€
Song Qinghan snapped back to reality and shook his head, saying softly, “No, nothing. I just think too much over that. It’s alright, let’s go back.â€
It would be better not to tell Wu Dahu the truth about the calamity if it would come one day sooner or later. Otherwise, Wu Dahu would definitely be bothered by such a worry.
Seeing Song Qinghan regained the calmness on face, Wu Dahu didn’t bother him for further details, even though he knew that Song Qinghan might have hidden something.
If Song Qinghan wanted to confess, he would. Since Song Qinghan didn’t want to talk about that, then it would just be nasty to force him to confess.
On the way down the mountain, they took a long detour and found a cherry woods imperceptibly.
There weren’t many people in the cherry woods, but not too few either. People gathered here to pick the fresh cherries from the trees using wooden ladders, all of them were putting on smiling faces, meticulously collecting the fruits into the baskets they brought.
Song Qinghan showed a face of covetousness, his mouth was full of water right now, he couldn’t help but approach and ask, “Do you own this woods? Are you willing to sell some cherries to us?â€
Those people delivered Song Qinghan a bright and warm-hearted smile, and then explained kindly, “This woods is owned by His Highness Hening, it’s your luck to discover here today, at the current time the woods is opened for free, come on and pick some.â€
His Highness Hening? Song Qinghan took a glance at Wu Dahu, but Wu Dahu responded with a head shake. Anyway, forgot who the person was, it would be their lucky day today to have a cherry feast!
Luckily, they had considered entering the mountain today and prepared a big sized basket in advance, they plucked and collected while binge-eating. Before the tree was left only bare branches, the basket was already full. Looking at the cherry trees that were all over the mountains and plains, Song Qinghan was rather envious and he said softly, “How happy we will be if we own such a spacious woods where a myriad of cherry trees grow, we can hold cherry feast everyday and entertain our stomach. And we can plant other fruits in the surrounding areas, fresh fruits will be endlessly supplied.â€
Wu Dahu held Song Qinghan’s hand tight and said firmly, “Trust me, it will come true! Just wait for me!â€
Song Qinghan smiled, but he did not want Wu Dahu to get any overloaded press. Just as he was about to say something in response, suddenly there came a cry for help.
“Someone, help! Somebody falls into the lake! Help!â€
The two of them looked at each other and asked Hualian to stay and carry Little Shitou with Yuan Wenxuan. And then they took the initiative to rush over there.
In the small lake at the end of the cherry woods, a figure blurred by trees and rocks was struggling up and down in the water. Obviously, it could be seen that this person was completely Inexperienced in water, his movements in water were just like a kitten did, helplessly.
Song Qinghan subconsciously wanted to jump but was stopped by Wu Dahu.
“Hey, hey, it’s still early spring, the water is freaking cold, let me!â€
Wu Dahu took off his outer coat, and with a nimble move, he dived into the water and swam towards the man quickly like a fish.
The man who was still struggling in the center of the lake finally came to relaxed when he touched the solid arms of Wu Dahu, he clung tight on Wu Dahu’s back as if he had gripped the last piece of life-saving straw.
Wu Dahu discerned that it was actually a femina male, he frowned tight as all the bad memories about Guan Yiyu popped up in his mind. Yet he did not took a hesitant pause in the water, and brought the man towards the shore.
When he finally made it to the shore and was about to leave, the crowd who gathered over and pointed at the man who lay on the ground, “He is doomed to die! He got no breath!â€
Song Qinghan cleared the crowd and broke in, squatted down and took the man’s pulse. True, just like what the crowd argued, the man now was already breathless and without any pulse. With eyebrows sank tight, Song Qinghan opened the man’s mouth by pinching the lips, and then commenced making an artificial respiration and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
Such a ‘queer’ action completely shocked the crowd while there was a sudden disturbance among them. Even Wu Dahu who had always supported him now couldn’t help but approach, trying to lifting Song Qinghan up.
After all, even if he knew that person was a femina man, he would still feel a little uncomfortable when he saw his husband having such close contact with someone else.
Song Qinghan wasn’t influenced by the surrounding disturbance as if he had already been disconnected with the surrounding environment. Seeing that, Wu Dahu withdrew his hands and stared at the man on the ground, seemingly praying that this man should wake up earlier.
A quarter of an hour later, the man on the ground suddenly turned his head and coughed up, spitting a mouthful of water out from his mouth.
A group of people who dressed up like servants rushed into the circle, and carried the man up. Out of caution, Song Qinghan fell and sat directly on the ground. He wanted to stop at first but just as he noticed that those people were acting meticulously, he turned his attitude into a softer one, frowning and saying, “Let him spit all the water he drank in his lung before leaving here, make him a warm bath in case he will catch a cold.â€
After that, he was supported by Wu Dahu and walked towards the place where Hualian stayed before the group of people reacted.
Well, this probably was just a brief interlude which was totally insignificant for them. Yet as for of the rubberneckers, it wasn’t.
Another three days passed in the blink of an eye, and then final tournament finally came. Song Qinghan carried Little Shitou in his arms off the stage. Beyond his expectation and to his surprise, at the corner of the judge gathering there stood a familiar figure, it was actually the femina man they saved three days ago in the lake!
Yet the female man didn’t show his true appearance and wore a thin layer of fine gauze on his face. Song QInghan recognized him because he could clearly see that there was a port-wine tiny cinnabar mole at the corner of the man’s eye. It was just an unforgettable trait which impressed him the most that day.
The man didn’t seem to recognize Song Qinghan, but his eyes stayed on Wu Dahu for a moment before he turned away quietly.
The strange thing was that the other judges were introduced one after another expect that femina man. It seemed that the femina man was completely ignored bu the rest of them.
Of course, Song Qinghan knew that the femina man wasn’t introduced was not because they deliberately ignored him, but because that his identity might be unsuitable to be exposed.
Did this mysterious femina man come here by his schedule to watch a performance, or was it his plan to see Wu Dahu after a further investigation?
Ever since Song Qinghan came back from that temple and met with Master Qingchen, he did everything meticulously and cautiously. Probably he was a bit ‘mentally ill’ now because he would connect every single trifle with a big event which would result in a bad end. So when he noticed that femina man, his mind was already messed up by diverse wild thoughts while he was trying to analyze every possibility he might encounter.
Thinking of how Wu Dahu carried the femina man onto the shore with his wet body, Song Qinghan got his mind wilder and wilder, seemingly he had got a presentiment in his mind that something might happen sooner or later.
Could it be that the femina man learned that he had intimate contact with Wu Dahu from his servants, so he wanted to see what kind of person Wu Dahu was and check out if he could marry him?
Thinking of this, Song Qinghan got his expression changed violently. He stared at Wu Dahu who was extremely calm on the stage, he wished so much that he could rush onto the stage and drag his husband off the stage now and quit the competition.
No one knew better than him about how charming Wu Dahu was when he fought on the stage. He could now draw a fully assured conclusion that as long as the femina man witnessed the whole competition Wu Dahu was engaged, he would surely have a crush on Wu Dahu!
Well, he never expected that he would encounter a way more horrifying pressure in this state capital after the evil scheme made by Guan Yiyu!
Just at the moment Song Qinghan sank deep into his wild thoughts, one of the servants escorted around that femina man suddenly pointed at the direction where Song Qinghan stayed. The servant approached close to the femina man and seemingly was whispering.
The femina man fixed his sight on Song Qinghan after hearing the servant’s words with his eyes lit up with a trace of sharpness. He moved his fingers slightly on the handle, and seemed to have found something fun to himself.
The final tournament finally began. For most of the participants, Wu Dahu had already made contact with them, so they silently prayed when drawing lots to not meet Wu Dahu so quickly.
Probably the Murphy’s law reins anywhere. The ones who prayed for that got the chances. Wu Dahu drew several rounds of lots and found all his competitors were the ones he had defeated. Several rounds of battle later, Wu Dahu finally made to the top three beyond all doubt.
After the competition started, Song Qinghan now had completely forgotten the things about that femina man and immersed himself in watching the competition. Seeing Wu Dahu was as mighty as a god of war, he got excited and stood up from his seat and shouted, “Dahu!â€
The onlookers seemed to be affected by his emotions. They also stood up and shouted cheerfully at Wu Dahu on stage, “Dahu!†Dahu! â€
Wu Dahu was stunned and instantly fixed his sight on Song Qinghan who was standing in the crowd, with a gentle smile on his face.
Just as they looked at each other affectionately, the femina man in the judge’s seat suddenly frowned and his fingers twitched as if he had encountered a problem.
The servant who had been paying attention to the femina man’s expression quietly bowed and softly said, “Your Highness, should I…â€
The man suddenly raised his hand and said calmly, “Forget it, Let’s wait and see!â€
