Yuan Wenxuan shook his head subconsciously. Although he couldn’t understand what Song Qinghan said just now, he had kept everything in mind. He believed that he could finally digest the knowledge he had just heard one day gradually and slowly.
However, such a reaction failed to please Song Qinghan. Seeing that Yuan Wenxuan was showing a face full of confusion, Song Qinghan delivered the boy a severe expression, asking, “Really? No any question you would ask? Then demonstrate to me what you’ve learnt from it!â€
Yuan Wenxuan thought that Song Qinghan would be a master with a good temper and patience, he was quite shocked towards the suddenly changed expression of Song Qinghan. With his nerve strained, he came to recall what Song Qinghan had just said and then recited them all.
Song Qinghan was surprised, he never expected that Yuan Wenxuan was such an excellent talent of memory, he praised and exclaimed over the marvelously impressive performance of this boy reciting every single detail he had just mentioned. It turned out that Yuan Boshu didn’t lie at all- so much so that the man was humble to say so.
This boy should be sort of a child prodigy which was described in thousand books with some special extraordinary talents.
However, even if he got such a promising talent, his reaction still dissatisfied Song Qinghan. Song Qinghan then lowered his voice, saying, “But this is all from my demonstration, you haven’t told me something based on your own comprehension yet. So tell me, what do you think you can use this scalpel for?â€
He casually picked up a random scalpel in the box and then gestured in front of Yuan Wenxuan.
Yuan Wenxuan pursed his lips, saying tentatively, “Is… Is it used for cutting meat?â€
Song Qinghan smiled helplessly, and then placed the scalpel back in the wooden box while shaking his head and saying, “Hmmm, it’s my fault. Your basic knowledge is not solid. Go get the booklet over there at the corner, and browse carefully yourself. I will teach you after I finish delivering.â€
Then, he lay powerlessly in bed, clenching his fists and trying his best not to make any noise from the pain.
The intense pain magnified in Song Qinghan’s every single nerve without anything distracting his attention. Such a painful feeling suffered him tremendously.
Yuan Wenxuan took the booklet and was happy that there was a book to read, but when he saw Song Qinghan’s expression, he got his nerve strained again. Just as he was about to go out for some help, Youning happened to came in from outside with a basin of boiled water and a piece of handkerchief in hands.
Youning still looked a little restrained, but Yuan Wenxuan brought the basin over directly. And then he soaked the handkerchief and use it to cover Song Qinghan’s forehead and pinched Song Qinghan in his palm, comforting, “Master, everything will just be fine. If you feel pain, shout. Don’t hold your breath and get yourself highly strained.â€
Hearing that, both Song Qinghan and Youning stared at Yuan Wenxuan with faces of utter shock. It seemed that they couldn’t force themselves to accept the fact that this little boy seemed to be an omniscient wonder child.
Yuan Wenxuan found out their confusions on their faces, and then he smiled slightly, explaining, “I read books as long as I got free at home. You may not see it, but you ought to hear about itâ€
Song Qinghan was diverted by the strength on his hand and asked with surprise, “Are you… Are you pressing on the acupuncture point?â€
Yuan Wenxuan paused and hesitated, answering, “Master, am I pressing on the right acupuncture point? I had made a trial on my own body before. This will surely mitigate the physical pain.â€
Well, as a western medicine major, Song Qinghan had never learned something about the distribution of acupuncture points. He asked something like that because he was curious but not aimed to show the boy how. So in responding, Song Qinghan said honestly, “I don’t know either, but there are no key acupuncture points on hands. It should be fine.â€
An astonishment flashed right in Yuan Wenxuan’s eyes. He then pursed his lips and continued his movements without pausing.
This master… seemed completely different from other doctors!
It was a basic knowledge about acupuncture point in Chinese medicine. Even if he became talented in medicine through self-study, he should know something about acupuncture point, more or less. However, this Master seemed to know nothing from it. Well, at least Song Qinghan did not brag himself or pretend to be a know-it-all person. That made this boy a bit relieved.
If Song Qinghan figured out Yuan Wenxuan’s psychological activities, he might have been both amused and annoying at the same time.
It was precisely because he was clueless about acupuncture points that he couldn’t brag about it. Those who would really choose to brag were the ones half bucket of water. They knew few but pretended to know everything. Though they could not cajole someone who understood it, it would be easy for them to hoax someone who did not.
Just as Yuan Wenxuan kept massaging Song Qinghan’s hand, Qin Aye came in and then drove Yuan Boshu and Youning out. But he was stopped by Song Qinghan when he was about to evict Yuan Wenxuan.
Although he had explained that he wanted to keep Yuan Wenxuan in the room because he would love to show the boy the seriousness as being a doctor, Qin Aye still insisted while shaking his head, saying, “That’s a total nonsense. under-age children are not allowed to stay in delivery room. Moreover, doctor isn’t required at all. By the way, where is the midwifery man?â€
After hearing that Wu Dahu had just gone to get the midwifery man, Qin Aye sighed and said helplessly, “Why didn’t he come to find me in advance? But I should take the responsibility too, I should have known that you guys lack of experience. Anyway, I’m here to give you a hand.â€
He placed the pillow under Song Qinghan’s waist and the next moment he took a glance at Yuan Wenxuan, shouting angrily, “Get out of here now, you little boy! This is not a suitable place for you to stay!â€
Yuan Wenxuan glanced at Song Qinghan. He came to know that Song Qinghan would still love to keep him in the room, so he answered calmly, saying, “Well, generally, we don’t need a doctor in the room when it comes to delivery. But what if he is troubled by difficult labor? Or something happens? It’s better for us to take action in advance and be prepared than do nothing.â€
Qin Aye failed to say something in severity, but just responded, “Hey, you’re just a man, so what can you actually do if someone is really going to get a difficult labor?!â€
Yuan Wenxuan got his face sullen at once, saying solemnly, “When we talk about medical skills, we can’t judge people whether they are suitable to treat the others or not by their genders. So according to your explanation, femina male doctors are not allowed to treat other men too? But I’ve just heard that Doctor Luo was quite famous treating people male diseases when he was in the Palace.â€
Qin Aye knew he wasn’t as eloquent as the boy while noticing that Song Qinghan didn’t say anything rejecting Yuan Wenxuan, so he just gave up dissuading, saying while waving his hand, “Fine, fine, stay as you wish.â€
He then tidied up the covers and adjusted Song Qinghan’s posture in bed, letting Song Qinghan’s feet step on the bed to exert strength.
Song Qinghan’s stared tightly at his belly. The next moment he could clearly see that his belly started tearing slowly, and then he shouted, “It’s time! It’s time!â€
Nervously, Qin Aye stood there but still showed a face of calmness, saying, “No, it’s not. You still get a long way to go. I will go cook a soup for you now.â€
After he walked into the kitchen, Wu Dahu finally came back with a midwifery man carried on his back who was panting for breath.
The midwifery man complained while catching his breath, saying, “HA! It’s the first time for me to get ‘robbed’, they will definitely tear you apart into pieces if the femina male didn’t finish delivering.â€
Wu Dahu wiped the sweat on his forehead and then urged the midwifery man, saying, “Please just go inside quickly, my husband is still in there needing help.â€
The midwifery man walked into the delivery room leisurely, and washed his hands slowly with warm water, and then took a glance at Song Qinghan’s belly, saying, “It’s still early. Prepare some food for him first. That will be better if you get ginseng here.â€
It seemed that Laifu had foreseen that ginseng was required, he approached to Wu Dahu, delivering Wu Dahu an integrate ginseng .
He relieved after seeing that another midwifery man was standing by. He couldn’t get the previous midwifery man here because the man wasn’t free currently. But he was at ease when he saw that everything was just well-settled now.
Wu Dahu didn’t say anything. He only patted Laifu on the shoulder and then grabbed the ginseng to the kitchen.
Since the yard was filled with people, Laifu thought he shouldn’t stay here to add any trouble, so he just informed Wu Dahu and then left.
At the moment Wu Dahu came into the kitchen, Qin Aye walked out with a pot of chicken soup in hands. When he noticed that Wu Dahu was walking in with a ginseng in hand, he grabbed it over without hesitation and then cut it into pieces and threw them in the chicken soup.
In the delivery room, Qin Aye just blocked Wu Dahu outside while Wu Dahu was trying to enter.
Right at the moment, Song Qinghan was totally soaked with sweat laying in bed. He would never want Wu Dahu to see how he was all in a fluster, so he just reached an agreement with Qin Aye to keep Wu Dahu outside the room.
Although the chicken soup with ginseng tasted not so good, Song Qinghan still drank it all and ate all the meat and ginseng.
It seemed that the chicken soup had gained a super magic. After drinking it all, Song Qinghan’s belly started speeding up tearing as if it had absorbed energy from the soup.
As the belly gradually opened, some liquid inside slowly flowed out combined with strands of blood. The blood was kind of creepy reflected on the fairly white belly.
Yuan Wenxuan frowned standing there though he was prepared mentally in advance.
It was promising to see that the belly commenced tearing, but the midwifery man got his face sullen all of a sudden, he placed his hand on Song Qinghan’s belly and then touched it slightly, saying while frowning, “It’s still too slow, the fetus is way too big, I am afraid that he’s facing a difficult labor right now.â€
Qin Aye’s expression changed all of a sudden and then responded in an angry tone, saying, “He hasn’t exerted himself yet, how can you just draw a random conclusion that he’s facing a difficult labor? Which village are you serving to?â€
The midwifery man, the one who was taken away roughly to this place by Wu Dahu, had already nursed a grievance but was ignited suddenly by the suspicion of Qin Aye, so he just got a worse attitude while showing a face of indifference, answering in a cold tone, “You’d better put up or just shut up! The amount of children I had helped deliver are way more than of rice you have eaten. Do you really think that you’re qualified to teach me something?â€
Qin Aye was stunned by the midwifery man’s words. He looked at Song Qinghan who was suffering and moaning lying on the bed, and then he got a bit guilty while asking for forgiveness immediately, saying, “Please forgive me being so ignorant, I am just too old to say something good.â€
Finally, the midwifery man came to a satisfaction when he noticed the look of Qin Aye with tight sealed lips. He then placed again one of his hands onto Song Qinghan’s belly while putting another one on Song Qinghan’s chest, frowning and saying, “Adjust your breathing tempo and follow the wave of my hands, now, exhale…â€
Song Qinghan had heard the conversation between the two, but it was a pity that he was just suffering from the pain right away that failed him to mediate. But now, since the two were calming down as if they were peaceful all along the conversation.
On the other side, though Yuan Wenxuan was expressionless standing there, the helplessness still overwhelmed in his mind. As he stood dumbfounded there, his mind went wilder.
Well, a case involving human life should be treated with the utmost care. This was totally the most crucial moment for two lives, but people here in this room were just arguing for nothing. In this environment, Yuan Wenxuan couldn’t help but just sink into a deep suspicion, he wondered whether things ever happened like some femina males miscarried because of the midwifery man’s dereliction. Anyway, as the door of the delivery room closed while the delivery man was slipping into unconsciousness, no one would really know what happened in the room if none was involved.
The wilder he thought, the more terrified he became. Yet he nursed a far more decisive ambition to become a doctor in the future.
