After a few minutes of gazing out of the window and feeling Magnus’s eyes run up and down my form, he cleared his throat. “Anyways-” He blushed a little, “I also want you start eating more.”
My eyes flicked towards him, and now I was listening. “I know- well- I now understand why you find eating more of a chore, I guess, but you need to start eating more.” I bit the inside of my lip, where I had been scraping away the skin for a while now, and it began to draw blood.
“Just a little more each time. We’ll take it slowly. I’ll help you.” I glanced up at him, the warm glow not seeming as friendly now. “I-“
He interrupted me. “You don’t need to say anything. Just- we care for you. Your family can’t hurt you now.” I didn’t try to hide my wince, and he flinched. “I- that’s not what I meant- god- I should have known it’d-“
“Shh. It’s okay. You… you can talk about. It doesn’t make me sad. Or angry. Or guilty- or anything. You’re okay.” I mumbled, and he moved over to kneel in front of me.
“I promise. It will get better.” He tilted my head to see the tears welling up. Kissing my forehead, he grabbed both my hands. “This- this is okay now? I can touch you?” He asked, and I nodded my head at the gentle words.
“We just want you to feel loved Atlas. We care for you. And we want to help you.” I nodded a little, and he glanced at me. “Words, darling,”
I couldn’t have hidden my blush if I had tried, and he grinned a little. “Okay. Going over everything now. Please- don’t try and shy away from us. You’ll undo everything we’ve achieved. And I don’t think the other boys would be very happy,” I smiled a little.
“And I’m going to help you start eating some more.”
“Alright.” My voice was soft, still processing things. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to go through all of it. Magnus seemed to read my thoughts.
“It will be hard. To break the pattern. To be free from those memories. But I promise you we can do it.” We. He didn’t say you. He didn’t say just me. He mentioned we. He- he was here.
I think that’s what he meant. I wouldn’t be alone going through it. Taking a deep breath to steady myself, I glanced up at him, nodding.
“Do you trust me?” My eyes widened, glancing down at my feet.
Do I? Look how far I’d come. I was… I was happy today. And… and they wanted me. I had joined them. They had brought me to his point. There was definitely more to do but- the warm, fuzzy feeling was back. Bubbling up and down. A warm look came over my eyes.
“yes.”
He smiled a little before standing, motioning for me to do so as well. Bringing me over to the window, he looked down at me, cupping my face into his hands. “I like you a lot.” He murmured, green eyes burning into my own.
“I like you a lot too” I mumbled, and my eyes widened as he pushed our lips together. My hands reached up to grasp the front of his shirt, pulling him closer.
It wasn’t a lustful kiss. It was sweet, and slow. It was full of love, and romance, and I felt myself getting lost in the man before me.
His lips moved against mine, and grabbed my back, pulling me towards me. Bending back a little, I rested back as his arms held me, as he leant down to continue the kiss. He held me there. In front of the window.
As he showed me. Showed me his love. His passion. His desire. His beauty.
I fell even harder for him right then and there.
Magnus POV
My lips moved against his, and it was like he had taken my breath away. I had always loved the way his eyes seemed to shine in the morning light, and the way he seemed to dance across the rooms.
I loved everything about him even more now. The small pitter patter and his panting breaths filled my head, music to my ears, and I gazed down at the man in my arms.
His loose sweater vest that he always wore, that seemed to complement every feature of his.
His dusty, silky hair, and the way it curled around his neck and collarbones.
His dark green eyes that seemed to flash and dart around every aspect of people.
His lips- the pink, swollen ones that I had the pleasure of nipping right now.
Fuck. I had fallen hard. But the others had too. He fit us all so perfectly. And we were going to make sure he knew that.
When I first saw him, as he showed me all his scars, my heart fell. For the poor boy in front of me. He shouldn’t have had to go through anything that he did.
But it leapt, too. Because I saw hope. I saw hope that we could help him. Save him.
I couldn’t help myself from wanting to run my fingers over his smooth body, feel the bumps of all his scars, and gaze at the muscles under my hands. I could tell the others did too. I don’t know how on earth he didn’t catch us staring at him with a dreamy look in his eyes.
He did it enough to us.
I smiled as I broke off the kiss, and he looked up at me, panting slightly. “You’re okay,” I told him, resting my forehead against his, before bringing us back over to the chair. “Can we go downstairs now?” I question him gently, not wanting to startle him after what just happened.
He nodded hesitantly. “Y- yeah” He murmured, pressing a hand to his lips, eyes widened with wonder. Cute. Holding back laugh, I grabbed his hand, leading him down after me.
The chatter in the room paused for a little as my gaze swept over the boys’ snakes and ladders. “Snakes and ladders? Really?”
“Shut up Mag.” I narrowed my eyes at Colten playfully, before he gave me a wink, and joined the others in laughing. Feeling a tug on my hand, I looked down a little to Atlas.
“Can I… call you Mag…?” A warm smile broke over my face as I nodded, and he squeezed my fingers a little.
As we went to sit down, I could feel the questioning glances from the boys. I shook my head. “Tell you later. Right now, Atlas and I are going to come and beat you all in snakes and ladders.” Atlas’s eyes widened. “M- me?”
Ah. I had forgotten about that. Turning to face him, I placed my hands on his shoulders, bringing him closer. “Atlas,” I murmured, “You will always be included. We care for you just as much as we do for each other. It was always that way. We’re always going to want you to join us.”
Atlas blinked, before nodding slowly. “Words, darling.” His fingers fiddled with each other as he blushed, and I could feel the amused gazes on us both.
“Never thought I’d get to see Atlas blushing without trying to run away from us,” Riftyn grinned, and Atlas sent him a glare, before pulling me down to sit with him.
He hummed a little as he looked at the little characters he could choose from, before reaching out for the penguin. “Will we start a new game now?” Niko’s voice rang out, and Milo nodded.
“Yeah! This time Cyr and I are gonna beat you Arlo!”
I rolled my eyes. “Not unless Atlas and I do first,” I grinned, before rolling the dice for us.
Turns out, Atlas is really fucking good at snakes and ladders. Like, I know it’s a game of mostly chance, but holy shit. This boy must be a fucking angel for fucks sake, because his luck-
Arlo and Colten wouldn’t stop groaning as Atlas and I passed them, and Atlas sent a shy smile my way.
Riftyn, Niko and Ever had the same reaction as the first two, and I laughed at their expressions. “Atlas, you never told us you had fucking superpowers.” Niko grumbled, and Riftyn nudged him.
“I can show you my superpowers” He winked, and Niko slapped his arm with a deep blush. Riftyn laughed. “You know what else I can show you now? My dic-“
Colten’s hysterical laugh cut him off as he slapped the floor, bending over from laughter. “Holy fuck Riftyn. You fucking lunatic-“
Arlo rolled his eyes in amusement, dragging Colten back up off the floor, making him sit up straight. I glanced at Atas to see him raising his eyebrows at the entertainment. Riftyn caught his look.
“Last night was nothing sweetheart. Just wait for next time,” he told Atlas calmy, before sending a flirty smirk around the room, and this time, I broke out laughing. Shaking my head, I grinned at Riftyn. “You fucking monkey-“
Riftyn let out a large laugh as Ever grabbed his sides, tickling him, and at this point, no one could stop laughing.
Atlas eyes widened along with Milo’s at all the innuendos the older three would call out, and Colten, Arlo and Riftyn couldn’t stop smirking as they snickered at the younger ones’ expressions.
“Alright you idiots, lets get back to the game,” I smiled, and Ever sat up straight.
“Yes Sir!” He saluted, and I shook my head with a grin. Atlas began to roll again, and now Milo and Cyr were chanting in the background. “1.1.1.”
“Stop chanting for my demise.” Atlas grumbled, rolling his eyes playfully.
But as much as Milo and Cyr were hoping for the win, Atlas ended up rolling a six, and my grin widened as we passed them, landing on the last box.
“Done. Won.” I raised an eyebrow at Atlas deadpan, before catching the amused glint in his eye. He leant back in his spot on the floor as he watched the others bicker with each other, eyebrows raised.
“You look content.” I remarked quietly, and his eyes widened. “Yeah… I suppose I am.”
He began to suppress a small smile, before I sent him a look, and a warm smile broke out across his face.
