Alastair was preoccupied with the uncertain thoughts lingering in his mind, an uneasy tension threading through his inner being. He desperately wanted to see his mother. As he glanced outside from the veranda, the night slowly swallowed the surroundings. He knew they were strong enough to fight the abominable creatures.

“Hey,” Rio tapped his shoulder, pulling him out of his reverie. Alastair raised his brows, turning to face Rio, who looked at him with concern etched into his expression. Alastair sighed heavily.

“We’re strong enough to fight them,” Alastair said, leaning his hands against the cold railing of the veranda, staring out into the vast darkness.  I feel like we need to act as soon as possible…” He turned back to Rio. “ I want to see my mother again. ”

Rio averted his gaze to the adjacent wall, his mind clearly bombarded by uncertain thoughts, unsure of what to say.

“Hey, are you with me?” Alastair’s voice sharpened, Rio face Alastai with a blank expression.

“Are you sure you’re ready for this?” Rio said cautiously. Alastair responded with a  nod.

“I can’t wait to face all of them and put an end to their madness,” Alastair said firmly, his resolve unshaken. Rio crossed his arms, pressing his lips together.

“I knew this day would come,” Rio muttered, “but I need you to know that… I care about you. We all do.” He said meaningfully, causing Alastair’s brows to furrow in slight confusion. “I think it’s time,” Rio added, his words hanging in the air.

“Thank you?” Alastair replied, unsure of how to respond. They descended the stairs together, where the others were already waiting for them, their faces etchin with concern. The shared looks between them deepened Alastair’s confusion.

“I hope you’re ready for this,” Eddie said as he ruffled Alastair’s hair with a small weary smile.

“I am,” Alastair replied curtly, his voice firm yet laced with the weight of what was to come.

As Alastair and the others pressed forward into the Lycan’s den, tension wrapped around them like the night itself. Midway through, Aliyah suddenly stopped, causing the rest to follow suit. All eyes turned skyward as Blaze and Marco, in their majestic Phoenix forms, descended with fiery grace, landing softly before shifting back into human form, the embers still flickering from their wings.

“What’s the matter?” Alastair asked, his voice edged with curiosity as he looked at Aliyah. She sighed heavily, glancing between Alastair and the others.

“Alastair, no matter what happen, brace yourself. ” Aliyah’s voice echoed meaningfully in his mind. Alastair cut off the telepathic link immediately to others except from her.

“What do you mean, Aliyah?” he asked mentally, his brow furrowed in too much confusion. ” Are you all hiding something from me? ”

“You’ll find out soon enough. I’m not in the position to say this all to you, i’m sorry,,” she replied, casting a glance at Rio, who pressed his lips into a thin line and shook his head.

“What is going on?” Alastair demanded, looking between Aliyah and Rio.

“You’ll see it yourself,” Rio said dismissively. Alastair waved his hand in frustration, the confusion growing unbearable.

They continued their journey toward the Lycan’s den.  Upon arrival, they quickly cast invisibility spells—Aliyah on Blaze, Kai on Giuseppe, and Alastair on Marco and Eddie. They became like a wind,  undetectable, with a great advantage over their enemies.

Alastair was the first to slip unnoticed into the house, but just as the others moved to follow, Aliyah stopped them. She and Rio exchanged uneasy glances.

“We can’t stop this from happening, can we?” Rio asked Aliyah, his voice low and filled with anticipation.

Aliyah took a deep breath, her eyes fixated on Alastair, who had frozen midway. His body stiffened as a powerful scent filled his senses—sandalwood mixed with cigar smoke and cinnamon. The intoxicating aroma gripped him, suffocating yet strangely alluring. The pull was almost unbearable, like invisible hands dragging him forward, closer to the house, closer to something.

A wave of realization crashed over him as Rio’s words echoed in his mind. His breath caught in his throat as a ferocious figure appeared before him, emerging from the shadows like a nightmare.. His heart raced frantically. The lycan shifted into human form, and with a horrifying jolt, Alastair realized the truth—his mate was an abominable creature. And a man.

Terror surged through him as he ran as fast as he could into the vast darkness of the woods, his legs moving instinctively, trying to escape the reality he had just uncovered.

The others followed him one by one.  Alastair’s fear quickly turned to rage, and the ground trembled beneath his feet. Dark, swirling energy radiated from him as he punched through trees, uprooting them, throwing them. Aliyah rushed to him, trying to calm him, but he push her away effortlessly. His eyes turned a deep, menacing dark-red, his fangs elongating, fingers growing sharper.

Blaze and Eddie appeared in front of him, their expressions grim.

“You hid this from me since from the very beginning!” Alastair roared, his voice dark and terrifying.

“We were just trying to protect you, you idiot!” Rio yelled back, trying to keep his composure.

“If I had known, I would’ve avoided him and prevent this from happening!!” Alastair screamed, grabbing Rio by the neck and lifting him effortlessly. Rio grunted in pain, and Aliyah screamed in terror.

“Son, listen to me! Stop!  ” Blaze urged, but Alastair tossed Rio aside like a ragdoll.

“It’s not their fault. You can’t escape your destiny forever!” Eddie added, his voice tense.

“Destiny?! You call this destiny?” Alastair spat bitterly. “I’ve been cursed by this called destiny!” His growl echoed through the woods.

“Then reject him,” Eddie said sharply, though the words seemed to pierce Alastair’s heart like a dagger. Pain shot through him, as if destiny itself was tormenting him.

Suddenly, a crackling orb of energy formed in Giuseppe’s hand, surrounded by lightning. He hurled it toward them, and they dodged his attack just in time. His mind sharp and deadly. Rio countered his attacks while the rest joined.  They tried to strike him down, but Alastair’s power was overwhelming and out of control.

“𝑰𝒏𝒗𝒐𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒆!” Aliyah’s voice echoed as she cast a spell, invisible threads wrapping around Alastair, immobilizing him momentarily.

“𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒔 𝑶𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒖𝒔!” Rio followed up, casting a bone-breaking spell that made Alastair scream in agony. “Oops, wrong spell,” Rio muttered. “ I’m sorry Alastair. ”

“ 𝑭𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒖𝒔 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒔! ” Kai added, freezing Alastair temporarily. But the spell’s effect faded almost instantly, Alastair’s immense power breaking through every restraint.

Before Alastair could strike again, Giuseppe drained the last of his energy. It took them 30 minutes to restrain him, but finally, Alastair fell unconscious to the ground. Eddie quickly lifted Alastair’s limp body and hurried toward Blaze’s house. The rest followed instantly.

As they moved inside Blaze’s house, the atmosphere remained palpable with lingering tension and disbelief.
