Of all the days in a week, why the rain choose to poured today? I been stocked outside the restaurant after my appointment with the client. I realized I didn’t even bother to bring an umbrella. What a bad day for me, my clothes are already wet. I decided to call my secretary.
“Hello, Ms Sam?”
“Yes, Sir?” she sweetly replied.
“I take my day off today.”
“Sir, you can’t. I just texted you, there’s a urgent meeting this afternoon. Vice President Kaito ordered everyone to attend.”
“Afternoon? But it already 1 pm.” I said.
“Yes, Sir. You only have an hour to get here.”
“What?! How can I make it, its still raining and the traffic is damn heavy.”
“Umm, do want me to book you a motorcycle ride?”
“What about the rain? Gosh, I’m already wet.”
“Then, start to find an alternative route, Sir.”
“Helpless.” I sighed.
I arrived in the company 15 minutes before the meeting. I saw my secretary looking worried outside my office.
“What’s the matter?” I asked.
“Sir, thank goodness you’re already here.”
“Why?”
“T-The CEO waiting for you inside.”
“The CEO? Why so sudden…”
“Better go in first, Sir. He looked pissed.”
I started to get nervous. This is the first time I gonna see the CEO. Since I started working in the company, I only dealing to the vice president. And I never seen the CEO face, not even once. I quietly come in and forgot my miserable appearance.
I saw the CEO sitting in my chair facing the window glass. His aura is so intimidating. I tried to make little noise to catch his attention.
“Ahem… C-CEO? S-Sir?” I said nervously.
“What time is it? Are you used to wasted time outside while paying you by the company?” he said in authoritive voice. He still facing the window glass.
“What?! I mean… I done a appointment with a client outside, Sir. And because of the rain Im stocked in the traffic. I’m sorry for keeping you waiting Sir. It won’t happen again.” I said while lowering my head.
“Mr Kim, I traveled away here just to meet you. I’m so pissed when didn’t see you here in your office.”
It’s takes me a minute to realized what he said. I quickly rise my head to confirmed what I heard. “Sir? What did you said..?”
He turned around to face me. I was too shocked to see his familiar face. He is the man who I accidentally poured my coffee into.
“You…”
“Yeah. Me.” he said smirking.
“You… my boss…” I said unconvinced.
“Yes. That right.” he said and walk toward me. “I’m Duri Kang, the president and CEO of DK Brewery.” he said proudly.
I don’t know what to say. I’m too stunned. Does he know that I’m his employee? Why he wants to meet me, does he planned to revenge on me? My work, he will gonna fired me?
“Are you not glad in meeting me again?” he asked.
“No! I – I mean…im just surprised. I never thought that you can be my boss… Sir…” I said stammering.
He smirked. “Why? Am I not got your standard as your boss?”
“No. T-thats not what I mean Sir.”
“Its okey. Why would you introduce yourself properly to me, Mr Kim.” he said while standing in front of me.
“Ah? Ah… I’m Lula Kim, the marketing manager here in branch 3… Sir…” I manage to offered my hand.
“Nice to meet you again Manager Kim.” he said and held my hand tightly.
I tried to pulled back my hand when I noticed he doesn’t have plan to let go of it.
“You’re soaking wet.”
“Ah, yes. I will changed before the meeting get start, Sir.”
“Changed now. I’ll wait for you. Let’s head in together in the conference room.”
“Ah? Y-yes… Sir..”
