Caleb
What was he doing here? How did he know where we were, where I was? Of course he came here when I’m enjoying myself on a date.
“I miss you baby—” He reached for my chin, but Damien’s voice made him retract his hand.
“Don’t you fucking touch him.” Damien darkly retorted, a scowl forms his face.
“I can’t talk to my boyfriend? Caleb tell them you still love me.” He grabbed my wrists, his grip tight as a fake desperate smile pulled the corners of his lips.
“G—Get away from me Nathan, this relationship end—ended years ago.” I attempted to rip my wrists away but his grip was too tight. He moved closer.
“I can tell you’re scared, your voice is shaking. You know what I can do—” Damien hooked an arm around his throat, holding him in a chokehold.
“Say anything else to Caleb and I will choke you to fucking death. Let go of him, now.” Damien demanded, which made Nathan slowly let go of my wrists. Subsequently Damien slowly dragged Nathan out of the seat with me.
I look down at my wrists, which were already turning colors even though he only held me for a short time.
They definitely were gonna need to be iced when we get home.
“How the hell did you know where we were?” Milo interrogated coldly. Nathan looked more than pissed, then he looked at me and smiled.
“You think they’re going to save you Caleb?” Nathan laughed, Damien tightened his hold on Nathan.
“Say one more thing to him fuckhead, one more fucking and I’ll kill you.” Damien scornfully threatened.
“I’m going to ask you one more time, how the hell did you know we were here?” Milo’s guard was up, his body tense like he was ready just in case Nathan slipped out of Damien’s chokehold somehow.
Nathan didn’t respond, only a mirthful smirk painted his lips.
Oh shit, does he have his gun on him?
Before I could get a word out Nathan pulled his shirt up revealing the gun and quickly reaching for it, but Milo grabbed his wrists just before they reached.
“Fuck, Damien he has a gun.” Milo looks up at Damien who still had a hold around his neck, “Caleb call the police.”
I grabbed my phone, but just as I was about to dial the number Nathan had manage to shove Milo off and wiped his gun out pointing it at Milo. I watched the color drain from Milo’s face as he looked at the gun being pointed at his head.
Terror had traveled throughout my entire body and my heart sank to my gut. Every fiber in my body praying that Nathan wouldn’t pull the trigger.
“Everyone’s going to listen to me. Put the phone on the table, and let go of my neck, or Milo’s going to have a bullet through his head.”
Carefully, Me and Damien slowly obeyed. I hate that this place is basically empty right now, usually this place is full as shit. No one was around to help us.
“You’re food is— what the…” The girl from earlier had a large plate with our food on it. Her eyes shot open seeing what was happening. Nathan looked over at the frightened girl.
Damien immediately took this chance and tripped Nathan, causing him to fall to the floor, his gun dropping and sliding across the floor. The moment he tried to sit up Damien stopped him by stomping down on his body.
I grabbed my phone and called the police.
“This is 9-1-1, what is your emergency?”
“At Timmy’s, on Boulevard Street, a man came in here armed with a gun.” I hurriedly explained, “We have him on the ground with the weapon out of reach.”
“We’re on the way.” The woman on the other line informs us.
“The police are on the way.” I say as I stand up from the booth chair and going over to Milo, “Are you alright.”
“My life flashed before my eyes, but yea. I think I’m ok. What about you? You’re wrists?” He looks down at my bruising wrists.
“I’m fine, I’ll deal with it when we get home.” I say before looking down at Nathan. My eyes are narrowed and full of hatred, “I hope you rot in jail, asshole.”
“Thanks Damien.” Milo breaths, Damien nodded, still not saying anything. Now that I think about it ever since Nathan pulled out the gun, Damien hasn’t said a word.
His expression was stern, serious, focused, but it looked as if all his anger and emotions had traveled to his fists. His hands were clenched so tight that they had started quivering.
“Um, this is on the house.” The girl sits the plate of food down on the table before scurrying off.
After a few minutes cops show up and take him away, we tell them that we don’t know him so he doesn’t ask us, especially ask me a lot of questions. As they take him away, Nathan keeps his eyes on me until I’m no longer in his vision. The cops leave and immediately I let out a breath of relief.
We all decided to go home instead of eating here. Once we’re at home we take individual showers and go in my room. No one had said a word to one another since we came back from Timmy’s. But we all silently laid together in the dark. Me being in the middle, Damien behind me and Milo in front of me.
Nathan was gone, he was in jail and away from me and my loved ones forever. I was safe, and so was everyone around me. If it weren’t for Milo and Damien.
“Thank you.” I softly whisper, after a few moments of silence they both shifted before responding.
“You’re welcome bun.” Milo planted a soft kiss on my collar bone, before resting his head in the space in my neck.
“No problem angel” Damien responds, which was the first time I’ve heard him say anything within the hour or two. He presses repeated chaste and loving kisses on my skin as he slightly reaches over me and grabs Milo’s hand. “I love you guys… so much.”
“We love you too.”
“Damien, you haven’t said much since Timmy’s. How are you feeling?”
“I’m just still trying to process what just happened. I got a bit of deja vu.” He took a light breath, “Do you guys remember what happened at the end of camp years ago?”
“The camp burning down? Or being separated?” Milo quietly asked.
“The camp burning. When I realized that the camp was burning I ran back and fought with the camp director guy. Even though I got you guys out of the burning cabin, I kept thinking about how wrong everything could have went if I hadn’t made it back in time.” He paused for a few moments before continuing, “And my mind keeps thinking about what if I hadn’t tripped Nathan, or if that girl hadn’t come? What could have happened?”
“Damien—”
“Sorry, it’s stupid—”
“No, it isn’t. Remember what I told you, your feelings matter to us if not anyone else.” I scolded.
“…I don’t think I’ve been scared like that since camp. Just the thought of either of you… dying scares me. I don’t have many important people in my life, so if either of you die, or something happens and I won’t be able to see you again, I think I’ll lose myself. I know that might’ve sound corny as shit, but I love you guys so much.”
“I promise It doesn’t sound corny.” I continue, “I love you too, a thousands times more.
“Don’t worry, Caleb sounds corny, not you.”
“I do not”
“You’re a little corny.” Damien added with a chuckle, and I scoffed.
“Last time I’m nice to either of you.”
“Its not a bad thing that you sound corny. I like your corniness.”
“Yea, you sound like a cute little dork.” Damien added.
“Whatever, but Damien just know that we’ll always be here with you and for you. I promise.”
“We promise.” Milo correct.
“I promise to protect you guys until my body physically can’t anymore, and I’ll love you until my spirit dies.”
Tonight wasn’t perfect, anything could have happened to us tonight. But Nathan was no longer in my life, I could live peacefully with worry. I love them, and they love me, what more could I ask for?
