Brady Hutton
I wrapped my arms around Liam as we walked with the group to the final ride. No words could describe how great it was to finally be together with someone after so many years. Back in high school, I’m not gonna lie, I fooled around with some girls and boys on a few occasions but after what happened to my parents, I never really dated anyone in the last 4 years. Liam and I needed to talk more about our relationship but at the moment, I was already happy that we were together.
“Don’t you want to come with me on at least one ride?”Liam said.
“Nah, “I shook my head, “I already told you, carnivals are definitely not my thing. But you go have fun.”
He gave me a small chaste kiss before going with the group on their next ride.
“So, you and Liam got together very quickly.”Dan punch me in the shoulder as if we were buddies.
“That’s none of your business,” I said sternly.
“Even if it’s not, I like seeing you guys.”He explained, “Liam is different from any of us because he is genuinely nice and he deserves you to look out after him. Especially after everything that happened to him.”
“Didn’t realize that the two of you are close,” I remarked.
“I mean, considering that we haven’t known each other that long, I guess we’re close enough.”He shrugged.
“You know, “I started, “You’re the least idiotic one in your group.”
“Well, technically Laurel is but sure.”He accepted that “We should hang out and jam together sometime.”
“I don’t play anymore, “I mentioned.
I did play it for Liam a few weeks back only to cheer up him but other than that, music is dead to me. I used to be just like Dan, playing it all the time at home and can’t stop talking about it, especially when I was around my parents. The truth is, the day I auditioned for Juilliard’s was the day I found them dead in the kitchen and I just gave up on music altogether because I thought it was a sign from the universe that I shouldn’t. Being a cop is nice and all but it does not beat playing on the piano.
“Hey,” Liam returned.
“That didn’t take long, “I said.
“All of us are planning to go get something to eat, do you mind if we take any longer?”He asked.
“It’s getting late, Liam.”I said seriously, “Is your father okay with that?”
“He’ll let me go anywhere if you’re with me,” Liam said.
“Fine, “I sighed, “But after that, we go straight home.”
Liam Rawley
I sat real close to Brady at the diner, that same diner Brady brought me to last time. It was the 80s themed diner and Dan just geeking out over it.
“This is officially our hang-out place now,” Roy stated.
“The food is great. And the music is just awesome here” Dan sipped on his milkshake, “You are a genius for finding this place, Liam.”
“Actually, Brady found it, “I mentioned and I grabbed his hand, making everyone stopped talking.
“So, you guys are dating now?”Laurel asked us.
“I mean, “I turned to look at Brady, who had a weak smile on his face, “I guess we are, yeah.”
“Aww,” Roy swooned, “My baby got a daddy now.”
“Why are you even allowed to talk?”Dan asked sarcastically.
“Babe, attack,” Roy said to Tess.
“You have a bad haircut.”Tess made fun of him.
“For every second you guys are together, a baby dies, “Dan said seriously.
“Okay, then.”Laurel stood up, “My mom is spamming my text, I have to go.”
“I’ll drive you.”Dan stood up too.
“No, you can’t.”Roy pointed out, “We went together, remember?”
“Brady won’t mind giving you a ride,” Dan said and looked at Brady.
Brady looked liked he didn’t want to but didn’t really say anything about it.
“But, Dan, he scares me, “Roy whispered loud enough for all of us to hear.
“Good luck then,” Dan said and went away with Laurel.
“We should get going too,” Brady announced.
“Fine,” Tess said as if Brady asked her if she wanted to come with him.
“I’m sorry, is she coming with us too?”Brady asked me.
“I’m right here, you privilege white pig,” Tess said bitterly.
“Oh my god, you just don’t stop.”Brady let out a humorous laugh.
“Stop that.”Roy demanded, “Let me finish my milkshake and you can argue in the car.”
I picked up the receipt and check on how much I had to pay for my food. I was about to take out my wallet but I felt Brady’s warm hand on my hand.
“I’m paying.”He said.
“You don’t have to.”I assured, “My dad gave me money.”
“Then save it for something else.”He suggested.
“Can you pay for me too?”Roy begged like a child, “I’ll call you daddy if you like.”
Tess hit Roy on the shoulder.
“You know what?”Brady started, “Why not?”He placed the money on the table, “I’ll see all of you in the car.”

After sending Roy and Tess home, we arrived at my house and Brady decided to follow me to the door.
“I had a horrible time.”He stated, “But you made it tolerable.”
“Maybe next time, we should do something that we both can enjoy, “I suggested.
“We should.”He said with a smile, “But for now, you should get inside.”
I took a step closer and tiptoed my feet before placing a small chaste kiss on his lips, “Good night, Brady.”
“Good-“
We heard the door open, “I thought that I heard you guys coming in.”My father said, “In, now.”
I looked at Brady, who seemed unease before the both of us followed my father from behind.
“Do you guys know what time it is?”He asked seriously.
“I’m sorry, sir,” Brady said seriously, “It was my fault. Liam’s friends decided to get something to eat before coming home and I should have stopped him from going with them but I didn’t. So, I’m to blame here.”
“Woah, easy now.”My father chuckled softly, “I’m not blaming you. Just remember that he still has school and needs to wake up early.”
“Tomorrow is a weekend.”I pointed out.
“Even so, you’re still under my roof and I don’t want your mother being all up my ass if something happened to you.”He added.
“That’s not gonna happen on my watch,” Brady smirked at me.
