The clock in my room struck midnight. The sheets were all dirty because of my constant crying. I still could not believe what I read a few hours before. I snuck out of bed and to his room. 4 rooms down. 511, 510, 509, 508. The signs in front of the rooms read. I slowly pushed open the door and stepped inside.Â
When I saw him lying there, unconscious, with tubes connecting his body, my tears fell even harder. If I realised 6 years ago, we might not be in this position. I cried next to him, until I unknowingly fell asleep.
~~~
It has been 5 days since he has been in a coma. The doctors said that if he does not wake up soon his life may be in danger. I sat next to him and buried my head in his arm. Today Chan and Jun hyung was to take care of us and they had went to get lunch, leaving me alone with soonyoung.
“soonie, please wake up soon… ” I mumbled as I sat on the chair next to the bed and further snuggled into his arm. I pleaded every day, but nothing happened.Â
Suddenly, I heard a soft groan and his arm move slightly, the only sign of movement for the past 5 long days.
“Hyung??”Â
I watched as his eyes slowly fluttered open.
“Hey ji,” He croaked as he smiled that stupid smile I fell in love with before hugging him. Making him wince in pain.
“Do you know how worried I have been?! Not only me the entire group and our managers also. Do you know how many times I thought that you would die?! Why were you so impulsive!”
“I-I’m sorry ji… I just was so worried about you that-“
“You should worry about yourself more than me. Look at yourself now.”
“I’m sorry…”Â
I shook my head as I pressed the button to get the doctor, but started coughing right after.
“You okay? You didn’t get the surgery didn’t you.”
I shook my head.
I could hear him sigh loudly.
“Don’t harm yourself so much ji, you are also a patient and you need to recover…”
I heard him wince as he tried to help me clean my lips.
“You see, you are not much better are you?”
“We can be a pair of broken best friends then.”
I shook my head but could not help grinning at his twisted logic.
Then, the doctor walked in and destroyed our moment. He was given the to go and since my illness has stabilized in the past 5 days, we would be discharged in 2 days after some more observation. The members soon crowded over us as turns out, jun and dino decided to inform them and shout through the phone while doing so, causing some patients who were resting to get disturbed by them.
Soon after, the members left for another schedule.
“Ji, come up and sleep with me.”
He patted the space on the bed next to me as I slowly climbed up and hung my IV drip next to his, before carefully settling next to him. He wrapped his arm around my waist and brought my head to his chest. Lulled by his breathing and rhythmic heartbeat, I fell asleep.
