“So, half a year was enough for you to fall in love with someone else?”

Aiden walked to Joe, took his hand, and guided him out of the room, closing the door behind him and walking them both to the living room.

“What are you talking about?” He let go of the other once they were next to the glass wall.

“Really, Aiden? You’re gonna deny it? Really?” Joe looked mad.

“I’m not in love with Edwin!” Aiden said while laughing crookedly and gesturing with his hands.

“Whatever helps you sleep at night.” Joe let himself fall down on the couch and put his head on the backrest, looking at the ceiling. Aiden sat next to him, doing the same.

Joe broke the silence. “I’m sorry for leaving like that. I didn’t mean the things I said.”

“It’s okay. I deserved it all.” Aiden answered in a quiet voice.

“You partially did, but it’s not like the situation wasn’t clear from the start. It was obvious that you would be busy most of the time. Maybe if I had stepped up sooner, this whole mess wouldn’t even happen in the first place.”

Aiden took his hand in his and squeezed it. “I’m just happy you’re back. That’s all that matters to me right now. You have no idea how much I missed you.” He paused. “You’re my best friend, Joe. You’ve always been and you’ll always be. I’m sorry I put you in a situation like that.”

Joe smiled back at him and changed his position so he could put his head on Aiden’s lap, and turned the TV on while the singer stroked his hair.

Edwin woke up to the sound of the coffee machine. Looking around, he remembered why he was here and then panicked when he saw the time, cos it was 11 and he was supposed to be at the hospital at 8. Jumping up, he felt funny and when he saw himself being naked, only with a towel around his hips, he lay back and pulled the blanket over his head. He didn’t want to believe the plot his head was coming up with, but he really didn’t remember anything after going into the tub. Did Aiden really see him naked? Most importantly, did he actually wash his— …?!

‘Way to go, Edwin. Way to go.’ He scolded himself repeatedly until the bedroom door opened with a small click. Edwin didn’t move. Pretending to be asleep was the only choice he had.

He heard footsteps getting farther and then closer, paused, and then getting farther again.

“Edwin, get dressed and come out to eat.” Then he left and closed the door.

He pulled down the blanket a little to see if he was alone again, and when he saw he was, he sighed in relief. How could he face Aiden anymore? Would he make fun of him? Would he tell others about it? Probably not, but still, he had seen him asleep in all his naked glory, and shit, it was embarrassing! After a while of punching himself mentally, he decided he had no choice but to go out at some point, so he just gave up and got dressed.

Opening the door, he was met with the scent of coffee and waffles.

“Good morning, sleeping beauty.” Aiden smiled at him sweetly.

How could he be this hot in the morning?!

‘He’s always hot, Edwin. But don’t stare too much. You’re supposed to feel embarrassed.’

Looking down at his feet, he sat on a chair quietly.

“I called Chad and told him you’re not feeling well. He gave you 3 days off.”

Edwin lifted his head and looked at him in surprise. “Why? I’m fine!”

“First, no you’re not. You cried for like two hours last night and—” The older put his hand on his forehead. “You’re still a little hot. Second, we’re going to look for Lili. Remember?”

Edwin felt the world crash on him at the mention of his sister’s name. He had forgotten the whole situation out of being so embarrassed in front of Aiden. The man shoved a fork into his hand and made him grab it by pressing his fingers around it. “Now eat. You look like a zombie.”

Edwin couldn’t deny it. He was starving, so he basically inhaled everything Aiden put in front of him and then drank the coffee. He could feel Aiden’s eyes on him while eating, but just didn’t dare to look up. He saw him leave the kitchen and to the living room.

“Joe, wake up. It’s 11:30. Time to go.”

He heard a groan and his heart started beating fast. Joe was here? For how long? Had he seen the whole situation? He wanted the ground to just open so he could jump in and hide there forever.

“5 more minutes.” A sulky voice answered.

“No, you don’t have 5 more minutes. I gave you an extra 30. Now, wake up.” And then there was the sound of a hit. Edwin bet it was another spank, as the two seemed to enjoy doing so to one another. He just felt so out of place at that moment. A hand suddenly landed on his shoulder, making him yelp and slightly choke on his coffee.

“Have you told Kurt about this?” Aiden asked him with soft eyes. He shook his head slowly.

“I think we should call him first. Who knows? Maybe he even knows where Lili is.”

Edwin’s eyes widened. Why hadn’t he thought of that?! All he could think about was how heartbroken Kurt would be upon hearing that Lili just disappeared. Just like that.

“You’re right. I’m gonna call him right now.” Taking his phone and dialing Kurt’s number, he waited and after so many beeps, Kurt finally answered.

“Hey, Edwin.”

“H-Hey… Lili… she…” He didn’t know how to tell him and he felt how Aiden squeezed his shoulder again to show support. But he felt his eyes tearing up a little, and that was when his phone was ripped out of his hand by Aiden and he put it on speaker.

“Hey, it’s Aiden.”

“Is everything okay?”

“Listen, remember the day I called you and you said Lili left with Edwin?” He was answered with a hum. “Well, they went to a… shack? That they used to go when they were kids?”

“I know where it is.” Kurt said.

“Okay then. Lili— she kind of left Edwin there, leaving only a note that says not to look for her.”

There was only silence on the other side of the line.

“You still there?” Aiden asked carefully, starting to worry about Kurt.

“Yeah… Edwin, are you listening to this?”

“Yes.”

“I think you should come to my house. I have something to show you.”

Edwin was quiet the whole ride to Kurt’s house, which was not that long, cos they both lived in the most expensive part of the city. It wasn’t even about being luxurious, but the security in this part was amazing and was exactly what people like him and Kurt needed. Edwin was stressed out. It was written all over his face, so when they got out of the car and in the elevator, Aiden held his hand tightly and the action seemed to have calmed the younger down a bit.

Ringing the bell, they were told to come in with a soft smile on Kurt’s face. He told them to sit in front of the TV as he turned it on. But before playing, he took a glance over at Edwin with anxious, mournful eyes. The video started playing. It was Lili, talking straight to the camera.

“Hey, Edwin. I knew you wouldn’t simply let go, so I recorded this and asked Kurt to save it for when you’d come to him.” She paused and looked down at her hands. “I’m sorry. I’m really sorry for all the years I took away from you and for all the things I put you through. I know I’ve said these a million times, but it’s never enough.” She slowly looked back at the camera. “I… I can’t go on like this anymore, Eddie. I’m too tired. I know I’m selfish for leaving just like that, but try and look at it from my point of view as well, hm? What’s the point of living the way I do? Eating, taking pills that never do anything, and sleeping, then repeat. I don’t have anything I wanna do. I don’t have any place I wanna go. I thought about just moving in with Kurt, but then that would be cruel to him as well cos I can’t give him what he deserves. I want you to be happy. I want you all to be happy and think I was never there, or think of me as a good memory in your past. I don’t know… I don’t know where I’ll go, but I wanna just roam in nature for a while before putting a final end to it all. I know you’re crying by now, but please don’t. Stop. You’re so precious to me and I love you so so so much. It kills me to see you putting on that white gown every day when you should be dancing on the stage instead. I wrote a letter for mom and dad, so please send it to them after watching this. I’m really sorry for putting you through this. I hope you’ll be able to forgive and forget me. Do yourself a favor and go after the things you like from now on, please. Start living. I wasn’t built for it from the start, but you have so much love and passion to give, so do it. You even have Aiden now. He’s the sweetest guy. I’m sure he’ll help you with this. I love you, baby brother. I’m sorry.”

And then the video ended. No one dared to speak a word for a long while, and then Edwin turned to look at Kurt with teary, furious eyes.

“You knew about this?” He yelled at Kurt.

“Yeah…” He mumbled, looking ashamed.

Edwin stood up and rushed to him, grabbing him by the collar. “Why the fuck didn’t you stop her? Why did you let her leave? Why didn’t you fucking warn me?” Tears were flowing down his face and Aiden didn’t know what to do.

Kurt put his arms around Edwin and hugged him tightly. “I’m sorry, Ed. She begged me not to tell. You should have seen her while making that decision. She was struggling with it for over a year until she decided it was time.”

Edwin loosened the grip on the collar and put his head on Kurt’s shoulder, sobbing. “She could’ve talked to me. I don’t hate my job. She always thought she took my life away. She didn’t.” Edwin talked with a broken voice while Kurt stroked his hair.

“You were not the only reason, Ed. She basically felt like living in hell every day. She didn’t wanna be like that anymore. It’s her life. I know it’s hard, believe me. I love her with all my heart and I always will, but it was her decision.”

Edwin lifted his head and pushed Kurt away full force, shouting again. “She’s gonna kill herself! She’s gonna die alone in god knows where and we won’t even have her body! You’re an asshole. I don’t ever wanna see you again.” And he ran out of the house, Aiden following him quickly.

Calling Edwin’s name a couple of times, the other didn’t stop, so Aiden had to speed up and grab him by the arms to make him stop running. Looking at him being like that, shivering and crying desperately, broke his heart.

“Let’s get in the car and go home, okay? We’ll figure it out together. Hm?” Wiping the current tears away, he led Edwin to the car, not letting go of him for one second. He opened the passenger’s door and made him go inside before bending down and fastening the boy’s belt cos he seemed too out of it to do it himself. He drove back to his place, praying to whatever god out there that Joe had left already, and he was relieved when the apartment was empty. He took Edwin to the sink, washed his face, and led him to the couch afterward.

Edwin was being like a doll, doing whatever or rather letting him do whatever, taking him around with no objection while being dead silent. He was starting to really get worried cos this behavior wasn’t normal at all. He wanted to call Chad and ask what he should do, but he thought maybe Edwin didn’t want his boss to know about this. So he just sat there, on his knees, in front of Edwin, wiping the tears occasionally and holding his hands.

“What are you thinking?” He whispered softly after a while. Edwin shook his head. That meant he was at least still aware of his surroundings, and that was a good sign.

“Talk to me, Edwin. Please. I can’t bear to see you like this.” He said while lowering his head and placing a few kisses on Edwin’s knuckles without being aware of doing so himself, rubbing his thumbs on the hands afterward.

“How am I supposed to live now? She is all I ever lived for. My only wish was to treat her, but I just failed. I let her down.” Edwin said, voice steady and low, face emotionless but tears still falling.

“Like she said, you’re gonna start living for you.” He paused, not sure whether he should say what was on his mind or not after the way Edwin yelled at Kurt. He didn’t want Edwin to look at him the way he had looked at the older guy.

“Do you think Kurt’s right? That we should just respect her decision? Just like that?” Edwin asked while still looking down at their hands on his lap.

“You fought for her for a long time, Eddie. If she could get better, she would have by now. I’m not saying you should be okay with this situation, not at all. I’ve known Lili for 5 months and I would be punching things by now if it wasn’t for you but… but it is her life at the end of the line.”

Edwin lifted his head slowly and looked at him with red eyes for a few seconds. “Kiss me— Kiss me. Please. Make me forget. It really hurts.”

Aiden didn’t need another word after that as he leaned in, putting a hand behind Edwin’s head and making him come closer as well, putting his lips on the vulnerable boy on his couch.

He just barely touched the younger’s lips at first before he pressed closer, starting to kiss him properly. Slow and soft at first, but getting more and more heated by the second. When he needed to have the younger closer to him, he broke the kiss and stood up, only to sit down on the couch next to him, grab him and make him sit on his lap with each thigh on either side of his. Aiden tilted his head back and locked the fingers of his right hand in Edwin’s hair while the left one kept caressing his back, his neck, his cheek that still had tears running down on it, and his sides. Edwin had lost himself in the action, kissing back hungrily and looking completely delirious while grabbing a fistful of Aiden’s hair in one hand and cupping his face with the other.

They kissed for a very long time, ravishing each other’s mouths with their tongues and exploring the other’s body by caressing their hands on the clothes. Aiden knew this was going too far as he felt his body react to Edwin in a way it shouldn’t, and he tried to stop.

“Edwin, let’s put you in a cold shower so you can relax a bit. What do you say?” He suggested while rubbing his thumb on the beautiful boy’s cheek.

“I say stop this bullshit and take me. Now.” Edwin clashed his lips on Aiden’s, kissing him desperately while breathing loudly through his nose. Aiden found himself wanting to rip every piece of clothing from the younger boy’s body, but at the same time, he didn’t want to be that person. The one who would go all out when someone was in a depressive mood. He didn’t want to be Edwin’s tomorrow’s regret. So, with so much hardness, he broke the kiss again.

“I don’t wanna do this, Edwin. you’ll regret it later.”

“You don’t wanna have sex with me? I’m… not your type?”

“God no, you’re gorgeous.”

“So what’s the problem, then?” Something was different in Edwin’s eyes. Aiden wasn’t sure if it was hurt or confusion or both.

“You’re being emotional right now. Thinking having sex will solve it all. It won’t. You’ll wake up later regretting this.” He paused. “And I don’t wanna lose you because of that.”

Edwin chuckled brokenly. “I’m a psychiatrist, Aiden. I know what I’m doing and this is what I wanna do despite the emotional state you mentioned. I won’t regret it. I’m functioning enough to know that.” He stroked Aiden’s hair while talking. And then stopped. “But I can’t force this on you either.” He stood up, walking to the kitchen counter. The tears had finally stopped, and he didn’t seem to shiver anymore. Seeing that made Aiden lose his mind as he walked toward him in fast steps, turned him around, and clashed their lips together rougher than before. Edwin was fast to follow, curling his arms around his neck and kissing back with the same intensity. Aiden moved his hand under Edwin’s shirt, moving up and down the boy’s back, feeling the soft skin under his fingertips. And then, in one quick motion, he pulled it over his head and let it land on the floor. Grabbing the lean thighs, he picked him up and put him on the counter. He let go of the beautifully plump lips that were now blood red due to the intense kissing and attached his lips to Edwin’s neck, nibbling on it hard. He made his way down on Edwin’s chest, placing feather-like kisses on every patch of skin his lips could find before taking one of his nipples in his mouth and sucking on it. Edwin moaned for the first time, and it sounded beautiful. So beautiful that Aiden wanted to hear more. A lot more. Letting go of the bud and going for the lips again, Edwin beat him to the action by tugging at his hair, pulling him closer, and catching his bottom lip with his teeth, nibbling on it while trying to take his shirt off.

Letting go of Aiden’s lip, Edwin pulled the tight t-shirt over the man’s head and was fascinated by all the lines that separated each part of the muscles on the body. Feeling impatient, he put his legs around the other’s hips, pulling him as close as possible. Leaning in, he whispered in his ear: “Take me, Aiden. Take me now.”

Aiden grabbed his thighs and picked him up, walking to the bedroom and placing him down on the silky bedsheets gently. Hovering over him, he captured those delicious lips again while his hand was busy undoing the zipper of the blue-haired boy’s jeans. He pulled down the underwear with it too and when he looked back at the beautiful sight spread out for him on his bed, he felt how his heart skipped a beat. He expected his mind to be against this, to want to stop him from sleeping with another person, but the more his eyes wandered over the beautiful boy’s body, the most certain he became that he wanted this too. Giving himself the confirmation that he’d been actually longing for this moment for a while now.

He came back to it when he saw a tear rolling down the side of Edwin’s face. Cursing himself silently for zoning out for too long, he bent down, propped up on one elbow, as he kissed the tear away.

“It’s gonna be okay.” He whispered next to the reddened ear before sucking on it gently.

A shaky breath hit his own, and arms wrapped around him. “I should… go clean up, shouldn’t I?” His voice sounded reluctant, but if Aiden wanted to make him forget his pain to his best ability, he had to say yes.

He nodded, caressing the puffy cheek. “I could help you.”

He witnessed how super red the younger’s face became at that and how flustered he became. “No, I-I can do it myself. I’ll be quick. Do you have—”

“Yes, in the left cabin under the sink.” He rolled off of the boy so he could get up. The way the lean body moved as he walked to the bathroom had him biting his lip, imagining all the things he wanted to do to him.

When he was alone and his head got a bit clear, he went to pick the clothes up off the floor, close the bedroom door and lock it in case Joe or anyone else decided to show up. He got his phone out of his jeans pocket, running a quick search for Lili, but he found nothing. Putting the device down on the nightstand, he took the rest of his clothes off and got the condoms and the lube ready. He heard the shower run, indicating Edwin would be out in a bit and he was about to sit on the bed when he heard a muffled sob. His heart sank to his stomach, and he ran in there, not caring about how the boy had become shy a few minutes ago. He found Edwin curled up in himself, kneeling on the floor under the shower, crying again.

“Hey,” He reached over to him, making him stand slowly before he pulled him into a tight hug. “Shhh…” He caressed the wet hair repeatedly, his other arm tightening around the thin waist more. “We’ll figure this out together, Eddie.” He whispered, hating himself for how useless he was at the moment. “Let’s get out of here.” He turned the shower off and took the boy in his arms bridal style to the bed. “Let me get you a towel and some clothes. You need to eat and drink too before I tuck you in for some sleep.”

He had barely turned around when a hand wrapped around his wrist. Looking back, he saw Edwin’s sorrow-filled eyes looking up at him, biting his bottom lip nervously. “Did you change your mind?” The boy then looked down at himself, at how naked he was in front of him, and bit his lips even harder.

Aiden pulled his head up with a hand under the round chin before he put the thumb of his other hand on the abused lip and tugged it down. “Stop biting it.” He inhaled deeply. “I didn’t change my mind. But you’re really not in a good condition for sex right now, Ed. It can wait. I promise I will give you what you want. I want it too. Just… not now.”

Edwin looked to the side before looking at him again. “Please? I know what you’re saying, but I just- I just need the distraction.”

That was it for Aiden’s self-control as he manhandled the boy to properly lie on the bed with his head on the pillow before hovering over him. “If you want it to stop at any moment, no matter what I’m doing to you, you tell me to stop and I will. Okay?”

Edwin’s eyes were so big and, although very swollen, still so beautiful. He could see his reflection in those dark orbs and when the younger nodded, he couldn’t help but devour him instantly. Edwin’s voice was so sexy as he moaned for him, loud and needy, while he made his way down the long limbs. The heels of his feet felt nice against his back when he took him in his mouth as his fingers loosened him up, and those hands tugging at his hair or scratching at his back felt like they belonged there, on Aiden’s body, as he fucked him. When Edwin came, he waited for the over-sensitivity to go away, caressing his hickey-covered skin in the meantime, before he took him again. This time he turned the boy on his stomach as he thrusted in and out of him, whispering praises and reassurances into his ear. When they came for the second time, a few seconds apart, and he wanted to pull out, Edwin stopped him. ‘Can you stay like this for a little while?’ and even though the dampness of the condom was annoying, he said yes. It didn’t take the boy long to fall asleep, and he pulled out carefully. He didn’t wake up as Aiden wiped the lube off of him or, when he turned him around, cleaned his skin off his own cum and changed the sheets. He smiled, glad that it had helped, however temporarily. Lying down next to him, he pulled the boy in his arms. Edwin’s scent was nice and the body fit right into his embrace. Inhaling one last time, he closed his eyes, too.

Edwin woke up, feeling something heavy on him. He looked down and saw it was a hand and his back was in fact pressed against Aiden’s chest while the other was asleep. He slowly turned around to be able to look at him.

He was beautiful, even in his sleep, with his lips slightly open and his face at peace. His bare chest caught Edwin’s attention again and he let his index finger run over the lines of his muscles gently, barely touching. He stopped when Aiden’s body reacted and the older changed his position a bit, pulling him flush against his chest. Edwin let his head rest in the crook of Aiden’s neck and inhaled his scent. He smelt like the woods; fresh and deep. It was funny how the other man had attempted to stop because he was scared of him leaving and regretting it afterward when all he wanted right now was to be in this position forever and more. Before he knew it, he fell asleep again. In the arms of the man he had secretly loved for months now.
