Third Evangeline II ─the youngest lord of the Evangeline household recorded in history, his parents and sister died when they took a shortcut through the Halamaian Forest. Everyone believed that the wild demonic beasts corrupting the forest ate them leaving no bones behind.
And so, at the age of 16 third was introduced as the Head of Evangeline Household.
Losing his parents at a young age, he matured faster than other kids and he was also Sejin’s best friend. Back then when he was visiting the palace to discuss about his situation, he met Sejin by chance. And since then, he visited the palace more often as he learns about Sejin’s predicament one by one. At first, he was angry but seeing his friend’s serene face while watching the clouds he couldn’t take his eyes off him.
“You were the only friend who stayed, the only friend who did not push me away because of how I am treated in the palace…… Thank you, Angeline.” ─ Sejin
So, when Third heard the news that the former crown prince disappeared with only mere black dust left behind, he couldn’t help but question the palace soldier’s effectivity. Searching every nook and cranny to wherever Jin will mostly likely be─ he couldn’t find him.
Even with the used of his own connections, nothing.
As if Jin didn’t even exist, not a trace of mana in the area, no clear evidence to where he was but one thing is for sure, the black lunas took him. The ice god’s enemy.
But he didn’t completely lost faith because the one who holds millions of army and intel connections is Kalev. So, he began his explanation as well as his findings; he doesn’t like this male─ that’s what his first impression was ─but this boy didn’t even meet his brother much less known the circumstances of Jin’s condition in the palace.
“I will help you because he is my brother. I never met him once so letting go of this chance is like a stain on my handsome face─ I won’t be satisfied unless I took care of it.” ─Kalev
Although he didn’t get how the prince’s example was his face, he still got the gist of it. With a large army looking for his friend and the first prince of this nation they found useful intel about the black lunas and while persevering in looking for Jin, their tree finally bares some fruit.
They found where Jin is, but he wasn’t there anymore and what greeted them was a deserted cabin with lingering frost and burst of magic as if someone lost control.
Seven years also changed him, back then he was smaller than Jin but now he stood almost 6 ft tall with a structure of a muscular male underneath his clothing. His pair of pale indigo eyes hidden behind his closed lids and his long eyelashes flattered ever so slightly as his eyes trembled; whether by excitement or anger, you will never know.
Overall, his handsomeness struck Sejin’s weak spot- that is pretty faces.
“Explain yourself.”, his voice gentle like a mild water in a river hitting the rocks with utmost gentleness.
Sejin fidgeted in his sit, he doesn’t know what to do or what to say. If he was Sejin then what would he say? Ah he is so nervous.
Even though third is one of his favorite supporting and comfort character; meeting him in person is overwhelming.
Third raised his eyebrow seeing his childhood best friend’s unusual or maybe the correct term is…weird, yes, weird behavior, stroking his left ear with his hand and the other hand tapping the wooden table softly.
His lips turning into a seductive shade of red was a big giveaway for what he is feeling.
‘It’s been seven years, of course he will develop new habits ‘, Third thought with a hummed.
Sejin’s POV
‘Omygoodness… Why is he so hot? L-like he is just sitting there but the charisma and aura makes him untouchable and like damn those hands, it could choke me to oblivion!!’
“I hope he bends…”, I unconsciously said.
“Hmm? Yes? What was that─?”, I stiffen when he looks at me with curious eyes so coughing or more like wheezing to divert his attention was a-okay success o-lay.
“N-nothing, I don’t think it’s appropriate to tell you what happened…”, my next words turning into silent whispers when his eyes turned even became even colder if that’s possible.
“Nothing is inappropriate when this friend of yours has been worrying for seven years thinking he won’t catch even a glimpse of your shadow anymore but after seven years he instead sees you inside the business guild as if it was his priority when he comes back instead of visiting an old friend …”, he said with an almost happy tone if not for the sarcastic look in his eyes.
I can’t help but release a heavy sigh and started to tell him what happened based on Sejin’s memories and the events; about what happened after he was taken by black lunas, his escape by losing control and isolating himself in the forbidden forest.
When I finished telling him, his eyes didn’t even blink once nor was he moving/tapping his hands like a few minutes ago and sat there like a statue~♪staring right at you~ ♪, kidding.
“How dare─”
And before he could commit mass murder, I convinced him not to and told him that he should keep my identity to himself. You must be wondering why no one has recognize me ’till now, smirk.
It’s because everyone stopped caring for Sejin when he was practically kicked off his supposed throne.
After talking with Third a bit more the desk lady asks me to enter the business GuildMaster’s office. I learned that his name is Takamura, an Asian name belonging to Japan if he was in the modern world.
Mr. Takamura also recognized me unexpectedly and had appraised my body when I first set foot in his office. He told me that my mentality is high, but my physical body is a little average. Although I don’t exceed in physical strength my element makes up for that.
‘But I’m still getting the hang of it, because apparently when Sejin lost control his element lost its shape, and it took a long time to reshape again and he’s back to square one.’
What? Do you think just because I am the main character, I’ll get the hang of this body? Hah! ─ I’m not Mr. Tyrespiel so don’t expect that I’ll just whoosh~ and prangg~ ice around.
‘I guarantee you; I could count with my fingers how many times I slept instead of practicing.’
I told him that I want to start by making skincare products because people here just don’t know how to maintain beauty. Heh, did ya’ think I’ll sell Lysol instead? Keep dreaming, humans-behind-the-fourth wall.
“Then leave the choosing of land to me, Your Majesty the first prince.”, he clasped his hands together rumbling on how many lands he has and how grateful he is to see me once again.
“Thank you, Taka-san. And I hope you keep my identity to yourself.”, he stopped talking before facing me with wide eyes.
“But, your majesty, it’s been seven years, and you will soon be discovered by the royal family once you entered Helios and who knows maybe they already knew it by now…”
What are they going to do if they knew? Drag me to the palace and lock me there? Even though the palace is the richest place on land, I rather starve and work myself.
“No, this is my life; I’ll decide what I’ll do with it. The moment they chose another compatible fire element user is the cause of what I am now. Then contact me when the land is settled.”
I performed a respected bow before giving him a polite smile and walking out his office and the Business’s guild, while on the way to the inn I bought some snacks, fruit and meat for Levi who’s probably lazing around still.
“I hope you find your happiness in this string of life, my dear affection. May the Embodiment of Time take pity on you, may the Tomb of Life grant you your most prized treasure, may the Mary of the Garden guide you and may the Lord of wisdom give you strength for the near resurrection of the end.”
“How was your trip?”
Once I entered the room Levi immediately jumped down the soft bed and made his way to me. I put my outer layer of cloth at the rack beside the door and plop myself on the bed.
“I went to the business guild.”, that sentence alone was enough for him to understand the meaning in it, so he idly looks somewhere else.
I knit my eyebrows when I saw the dirty paws on the thin sheet of the bed and glance at Levi. He whistles looking anywhere but me.
‘Ever since he possessed that body, he’s been acting like an animal himself even if he denies it.’
Good thing, I managed to make a disinfectant similar to sanitizers although it’s not at its best at pulverizing germs or to simple state, bacteria’s.
〔 End of POV 〕
Oh, how much he hates it when he sees dirt everywhere especially on the streets, every time he sees trashes or even the slightest dirt at the very corner of the alleys, he had to restrain himself from purifying those ‘impurities’.
Yes, he calls dirt ‘impure’, don’t judge him.
Sighing, he started to clean and gently wipe the still wet dirty paws evident that the little beast went out somewhere without his permission.
‘This spoiled brat’ , he thought grimacing inside.
“I don’t know what you did outside but if you fuc─ if you go back here you should at least clean yourself, Lev.”
He takes a deep breath before he can say a profanity and make the prideful demon spout nonsense again.
Levi stares up at him blankly, he knew where the kid went but as soon as Matt stood up to meet up the GuildMaster; he run to the palace where Sejin and him were born.
He jumps over the huge wall landing on the smooth green grass with a sigh. He missed his life in the palace. He was born with Sejin, both of them is each other’s half. They needed each other.
When Sejin first opened his eyes, he could see what he sees too but he can’t communicate with him, so he waited. It was Sejin’s 6th birthday when he first reached out to him, at first the boy was afraid thinking that he was maybe hallucinating.
But after that Sejin started warming up to him, they always talk inside their minds, but Sejin talks verbally so everyone thought that he made an imaginary friend.
Levi sighed when his mind reminisces those times when Sejin forgot him for a second since he was busy playing with Third. He hated that kid because he hogs his other half to himself.
They were like twins sharing the same body but cannot exchange consciousness. And the most hurtful truth was his conscious twin is human while he is a demon.
He roamed the palace unannounced and without getting detected too so he is safe, it actually made him proud, thinking that not even the fire god’s surname bearers could detect him.
He also contemplated whether to steal a few things but disregarded the idea because Sejin will eventually know without even telling him.
In the end after seeing his half-brother, he strolled back at their inn room unknowingly putting his dirty paws on the white bed sheets which lead to where he was now.
‘This brat! Hmp! Just because he does all the business doesn’t mean he can order me around! But since it’s my fault, which I will not admit, I’ll comply, lucky puny twin of mine…’, he thought with pride oozing out of him.
“Haha, do not fret, brat, Understood.”
I am W. A. S, I am the newly created human artificial intelligence, and this is my first world─ that’s all you need to know for now; Then I shall start explaining and further stock knowledge in that brain of yours.
When an element holder loses control they will reboot, just like a game, they will start at level 1 again.
There are three different cases when a holder loses control.
1) Burst – is when a holder releases all of their energy and covering a large area with it. It’s like a mini nuclear bomb and although it does not kill you, it will deal enough damage to the body─ hurting nearby people whether enemy or ally.
2) Vexation – is when a holder loses themselves to their own element. When enemies are closed to them, they could be a victim to their irritation and misdirect anger. This can also be called madness. It’s safer than the first one because vexation do not harm nearby allies.
3) Clandestine – this is the most dangerous out of the two. When a holder loses control, they will imprint something to burden/irritate/or kills someone without dirtying their hands. Clandestine is a type of curse that only major god’s holders can implicate through nearby enemies.
It is like a poison that will slowly but surely kills you within days. Although no one will have a clue when a clandestine case happens, those affected by clandestine will have a burnt mark at their backs.
