My little brother and I were the first to arrive at the meeting spot, located in the heart of our territory. It had been a week since Takemichi went missing, and the anxiety gnawing at me was almost unbearable.
We settled at the center and waited for the others to join us.
The purpose of this meeting was to inform them of Takemichi’s prolonged absence and to request their help in locating him.
A few days ago, my brother and I discussed Takemichi’s situation and agreed that he could be considered our mate as well. However, I’m apprehensive about the other individuals in my dream who might also become his mates.
With a heavy sigh, my little brother asked if I was alright.
“I’m fine,â€
I replied, though my worry was palpable.
Soon, the others began to arrive one by one. Once everyone was gathered, I addressed them.
“Thank you for coming on such short notice. I apologize for the urgency of this meeting, but it is crucial.â€
A tall, handsome man with black hair and eyes spoke up.
“It’s alright. I understand that something serious must be happening if you called us together like this.â€
Naoto nodded in agreement, and the room fell into a serious silence.
The leader of the mermaid tribe spoke next.
“What’s this about?â€
“It concerns our mate, who has been missing for over a week—â€

As I spaced out, wondering how the meeting on the other side was going, Mikey’s voice snapped me back to reality.
It had been two hours since I informed Mikey about the meeting called by the heir of the Fairy Clan.
Although Mikey had initially been worried about who would attend in our place, he knew it would be the second-in-command. We couldn’t rely on the first leader due to his unpredictable temper.
At least the second leader was there to represent us.
“Look, Takemitchy! This is a crispy fragrant fruit, specially made for females, but males can eat it too!”
Mikey said, offering the fruit with enthusiasm.
“Yeah, Takemitchy, it’s really sweet. You should keep it for yourself and not waste it on us,”
I added with a warm smile.
Takemitchy’s reaction was unexpected. He looked hurt and slightly annoyed.
“What do you mean waste? You two are mine— I mean, you’re my family. To me, you both are the most important. No amount of crispy fragrant fruit is more important than you two! Do you hear me?â€
Takemitchy said with a bit of anger.
The intensity of his words left both Mikey and me momentarily stunned.
‘Right, we are family,’
I thought, and it seemed Mikey and I shared the same sentiment as we exchanged a glance.
Looking at Takemitchy’s face, illuminated by the firelight, his features appeared warm and tender. A warm current of affection flowed through me.
“Takemitchy…â€
Mikey said softly, then jumped at Takemitchy and hugged him tightly, not letting go.
“Why are you looking at me like that?â€
Takemitchy asked, slightly embarrassed by the hug.
I leaned in and whispered in his ear,
“You know, in my entire life, I’ve never seen anyone as gentle as you, Takemitchy…â€
His cheeks flushed with a deep red as he covered his ears, clearly embarrassed.
“Hahahaha!â€
I laughed, charmed by how adorable he was.
Mikey pouted at my affectionate display, but his expression softened as he watched Takemitchy.
While females are rare, they are not completely absent. I had seen several in my life, and they were often spoiled and arrogant. Not all, but it was rare to find one who wasn’t.
The women who raised me, though not my biological mother, were kind and nurturing. They shaped me into who I am today. Seeing a male surpass them in gentleness felt like a miracle.
Takemitchy was truly different and special.
“For the second time, I’ve fallen in love with you,â€
I whispered to myself, just as I had in my dreams.

༻﹡﹡No One’s POV﹡﹡༺
 Â
The females Draken and Mikey had encountered in their lives were often indifferent to the lives of others. They only cared about their own happiness, and their almost cruel innocence made Draken avoid them like venomous creatures.
Mikey, on the other hand, was more laid-back, but he was ruthless if crossed.
This is why there had been no female lingering around them.
They had thought they might never fall in love or find their mate, but here they were.
Their future mate was unlike anyone they had ever met. Takemitchy was special—gentle, beautiful, small, and skinny. But what truly made him stand out was his kind heart and compassion for others.
Mikey stopped pouting as a new idea struck him.
“I’m so lucky to have met you in this life, Takemitchy, my mate,”
Mikey said, leaning over and rubbing his big furry head against Takemitchy affectionately.
“Don’t move, Mikey. I need to bandage your wound!”
Takemitchy said, laughing as he worked.
Using a bone knife, Takemitchy cut the animal skin into strips and carefully wrapped them around Mikey’s wound.
“Does it still hurt?”
Takemitchy peered up at Mikey, concerned.
“I feel better than ever, Takemitchy! Thank you,”
Mikey replied, touching the animal skin with a smile.
“T-that’s good!”
Takemitchy blushed and quickly averted his gaze, feeling flustered by Mikey’s appreciative look.
“Mikey, you sly lion…”
Draken whispered irritably, observing the scene.
The warmth of the moment was palpable as Takemitchy and Mikey shared a quiet bond, their connection growing stronger with each passing second.

After resting for a while, Takemichi decided to make some shoes. He pulled out the needles and threads they had bought at the market earlier and began his attempt at shoemaking.
Despite his efforts, Takemichi struggled and was growing increasingly frustrated.
His fingers were repeatedly pricked by the bone needle, causing blood to bead up and stain the animal skin.
Draken, who had been watching, looked distressed. With a sigh, he walked over and took the needle, thread, and animal skin from Takemichi’s hands.
“I’ll do it,”
Draken said firmly, beginning to sew.
“U-umm, Draken-kun, it’s okay, I can manage it myself,”
Takemichi protested, trying to take back the materials.
“Takemichi, look at your fingers,”
Draken said, urging Takemichi to see the blood on his hands.
“It’s just a small wound. It won’t interfere with the sewing,”
Takemichi insisted, though he began to relent as Draken continued.
“Aren’t we family? I can’t just let my mate get hurt. Please, let me do it.”
Draken’s concern was clear, and Takemichi, touched by the sentiment, stopped arguing and watched.
Draken worked with swift, practiced movements, cutting the hide, threading the needle, and creating a pair of delicate, well-made leather boots. He added two layers of animal skin to the soles for extra comfort and designed a lace-up style with adjustable straps.
“Wow! I never thought you’d be so good at sewing!”
Takemichi thought, amazed.
“Done! Takemichi, why don’t you try them on?”
Draken offered.
Takemichi eagerly slipped the boots on, hopping around to test their fit.
“Do they look good?”
“Very good. They’re beautiful. You don’t have to worry about stepping on sharp stones in the future,”
Draken said with a satisfied smile.
Just then, Mikey appeared with a nod.
“Wow, you made those, Ken-chin?”
“Yeah,”
Draken replied.
“By the way, where did you learn to sew so well? They look perfect, like a professional made them!”
Takemichi asked, causing a blush to spread across Draken’s face.
Mikey, who seemed somewhat unimpressed, cast a dark glance but said nothing. Draken responded with a victory smile,
“I learned from a friend who really loves sewing.”
Takemichi, eager to help, suggested,
“How about making a pair of shoes for the two of you?”
The two looked at each other thoughtfully. After a moment, they turned back to Takemichi.
“It would be a great idea, but my skin is very thick and I find shoes uncomfortable. Plus, I often need to transform, and shoes would be inconvenient,”
Draken explained, recalling past experiences with uncomfortable footwear.
“I wouldn’t mind if Takemichi made them for me, but Orc skin is very tough. We don’t have to worry about stepping on sharp objects, and transforming would destroy the shoes,”
Mikey added, clearly disappointed.
Takemichi chuckled at the thought of a large lion wearing leather boots and then asked,
“But wait, I still don’t know what beast you are, Draken-kun.”
Draken hesitated, looking away nervously.
“Um… Promise me one thing,”
he said, sitting down, trying to avoid scaring Takemichi with his true form.
Takemichi, excited and curious, nodded eagerly.
“Don’t worry, I won’t be scared. I’ve dealt with similar things before,”
he said, recalling his first encounter with Mikey.
After some convincing, Draken led Takemichi outside the cave. Takemichi, puzzled but compliant, followed him.
Outside, Draken transformed into a large, black-scaled dragon with four legs. His majestic form glowed under the full moon, and the moonlight made his scales shimmer.
“W-what?! Y-you’re a dragon?!”
Takemichi’s eyes widened in awe.
Mikey emerged from the cave with a proud grin. Draken’s dragon form was truly magnificent, and Takemichi couldn’t take his eyes off him, enchanted by his beauty.
“Ken-chin is cool, isn’t he?”
Mikey said, noticing Takemichi’s reaction.
Takemichi, a little intimidated but mostly mesmerized, thought he had seen something like this before. A flashback of a black dragon appeared in his mind.
“Ah, is that why you have a tattoo on your head?”
Takemichi asked, puzzled.
“Uh, tattoo? Maybe?”
Mikey responded, not entirely understanding.
With their conversation wrapped up, Draken returned to his human form, and the three of them went back into the cave.

After finishing the shoes and revealing his true form, Draken noticed that Takemichi seemed a little tired. The emotional and physical exhaustion was apparent on his face.
Takemichi leaned against Mikey’s warm, furry belly, curling up with Mikey’s tail draped around him for comfort. The warmth enveloped him, and he soon fell into a peaceful sleep.
Mikey, in his beast form, rested his head on his front paws, his large, amber eyes gazing affectionately at the sleeping Takemichi.
The tenderness in his eyes was evident, as he silently watched over the little male who had brought warmth and companionship into their lives.
As Takemichi drifted off, he felt a familiar warmth spreading through his body, a sensation that stirred memories long buried.
He opened his eyes, sensing the warmth again and reflecting on its significance. This comforting feeling was something he had almost forgotten, linked to the time before he had lost his family.
A sudden wave of premonition and unease washed over him, a reminder of the loss and solitude he once faced. But he quickly dismissed the feeling, reassuring himself that he now had a new family to cherish and protect.
With that reassurance, Takemichi closed his eyes once more, sinking into a deep, restful sleep, nestled safely in the embrace of his new family.
Draken observed the serene scene with a quiet sense of satisfaction, content to see Takemichi and Mikey finding solace in each other’s presence. He knew that, despite the challenges they faced, this bond would only grow stronger.
The cave was filled with a comforting silence, the only sounds being the gentle breaths of the sleeping trio and the distant whispers of the night wind.

 Â
As morning light filtered into the cave, Draken was the first to wake. He noticed that Takemichi was still asleep and quietly slipped out of his spot, moving to the other room of the cave where he had been cooking the fresh meat he had hunted earlier.
“Draken-kun?”
Takemichi’s sleepy voice called out as he woke and looked around for Draken.
Draken flinched at the sound and turned to face Takemichi, trying to hide his embarrassment. His efforts at cooking had not gone well—the meat was burned, and his hands and face were smeared with soot from the fire.
Seeing this, Takemichi couldn’t help but laugh, which only made Draken more flustered.
“Here, let me help you,”
Takemichi offered, stepping over to assist. He showed Draken how to properly skewer the meat and cook it evenly to avoid burning.
As Takemichi was cutting the meat, he accidentally nicked his finger. The cut was a bit deep and started to bleed.
Takemichi, accustomed to small injuries, tried to brush it off and continued working, but Draken immediately noticed the smell of fresh blood.
Draken’s eyes widened in alarm as he saw the blood staining Takemichi’s clothes.
“You’re injured!”
he exclaimed, his panic evident as he reached out to examine Takemichi’s finger.
The sight of the deep cut and the blood streaming from it made Draken more frantic. He attempted to stop the bleeding by licking the wound, but it only seemed to make Takemichi wince in pain.
“I-I’m not that injured! It’s not serious… Don’t worry!”
Takemichi said, his voice trembling with both pain and embarrassment.
“Don’t worry? You’re bleeding badly!”
Draken retorted, clearly in denial about Takemichi’s reassurances.
“Really, Draken-kun, it’s just a cut—ouch!”
Takemichi protested, tearing up a little when Draken’s panicked grip on his finger intensified.
Mikey, disturbed by the commotion, woke up and quickly noticed the strong scent of blood. He emerged from his resting place and saw Draken desperately trying to tend to Takemichi’s injury.
“Takemichi?!”
Mikey shouted, alarmed to see Takemichi bleeding. He hurried over, picking Takemichi up and looking at Draken who had found a clean leather strip to cover the wound.
“Geez, enough, you two! I won’t die from a cut! And Mikey-kun, please put me down!”
Takemichi said, blushing deeply as he was carried.
Both Draken and Mikey were frantic, believing the situation was more serious than it was. Takemichi’s attempts to convince them otherwise were ignored.
Mikey’s face was pale with worry, and Draken’s fear was palpable.
Draken’s own traumatic memories of losing his father to injuries only heightened his distress. The thought of losing Takemichi in a similar way was unbearable.
When Draken’s anxiety peaked, he began to wrap Takemichi in animal skins, determined to find a witch doctor to treat him. Mikey followed closely behind, leaving the cave with Draken.
“Don’t be afraid. I’ll take you to find a witch doctor. I won’t let you die!”
Draken declared, his voice resolute but trembling with fear.
Takemichi, mortified by the overreaction, covered his face with his hands as they made their way to the witch doctor.
The entire situation felt surreal to him, but he knew there was no convincing Draken and Mikey otherwise.
‘But I’m really not going to die from a cut!’ Takemichi thought, feeling both embarrassed and helpless as his two overly concerned friends rushed to find help.!

 Â
Lang Zhu, the witch doctor, was focused on healing a young wolf orc named Baji.
Baji, with his tall and slender frame, long black hair, and fierce brown eyes, had a commanding presence despite the long wound on his chest. His rebellious aura was undiminished by his injury.
“Baji, where have you been? Is this the first time you’ve been hurt recently? I remember the tenth time, right? You’ve almost used up all the herbs here,”
Lang Zhu chided as he applied medicine to Baji’s wound.
Baji, recently returned from an unsuccessful attempt to join a meeting held by the heir of the fairy clan, had been ambushed by enemies of his gang on his way back. He had little patience for Lang Zhu’s questions.
“Just heal me. Don’t ask any useless questions,”
Baji said, his face expressionless.
“This brat! Do you know how much I worry about you?”
Lang Zhu said, pinching Baji’s ear, which made him wince in pain.
“Ouch! Ouch! Wait, old man! That hurts! Stop! Please stop!”
Baji exclaimed, trying to escape Lang Zhu’s grip.
“Want me to stop? Then let me know what happened today on your way here,”
Lang Zhu said with a stern smile. Baji, recognizing the underlying threat, felt a shiver of fear.
Baji hesitated but finally relented,
“I was ambushed by my enemies.”
Lang Zhu sighed deeply.
“You should change that attitude if you want to find a suitable partner,”
he said, trying to redirect the conversation.
Baji’s impatience was evident.
“Females hate me,” he replied with a slight frown.
Lang Zhu continued, undeterred,
“I just hope you find a female soon. You could use a partner. Oh, my poor tribe!”
Baji scowled at the mention of finding a partner. His disdain for the female members of his tribe was well-known. He saw many of them as lazy and self-serving, which only reinforced his reluctance to find a mate.
“I know you’re jaded because of your father’s death, but not all females are like the ones you’ve encountered. Consider the females close to you, like your mother,”
Lang Zhu said, trying to offer a more balanced perspective.
“Enough! I don’t want to hear about my mother or that old woman! Just stop reminding me of those incidents, old man,”
Baji snapped, his frustration palpable.
Lang Zhu’s face softened with concern as Baji stood abruptly, his anger evident.
“Stinky boy, your wound is still uncovered. Come back here! And if your mother saw you like this—”
Lang Zhu trailed off, shaking his head in exasperation.
As Baji stormed out, Lang Zhu gathered his supplies and prepared to follow.
Just then, Mikey and Draken burst into the room, carrying Takemichi, who was clearly injured.
“Witch doctor, save my partner! Takemichi’s hurt!”
Mikey pleaded, holding Takemichi tightly as Draken followed closely, both of them clearly distressed.
Lang Zhu immediately shifted his focus to Takemichi, his expression a mix of professional concern and irritation at the interruption.
“Bring him here,”
he instructed, his tone brooking no argument.
With a swift motion, Lang Zhu cleared a space and began assessing Takemichi’s injury, his hands steady despite the urgency. He glanced at Mikey and Draken, noting their worried faces.
“Get him on the table. Let me see how bad it is,”
he said, his voice calm but authoritative.
As Mikey and Draken carefully laid Takemichi on the makeshift table, Lang Zhu started to work on the cut, his skillful hands applying healing herbs and bandages with practiced ease.
Despite his initial frustration with Baji’s antics, his focus was now entirely on helping Takemichi recover.
