༻﹡﹡No one’s POV﹡﹡༺

The house was silent as everyone waited in anticipation.

On the wooden table Draken had crafted, a cloth was spread out, holding the egg. It was slightly larger than a normal chicken egg, with fragments of the shell scattered around it.

Takemichi wore a worried expression, Draken observed both him and the egg with a troubled look, while Mikey seemed lost in thought.

After two and a half hours of silence, Mikey broke it with a question that made Takemichi want to punch him.

“Um… Ken-chin, Takemitchy… Why is the egg taking so long to hatch?”
he asked with a whine, clearly bored.

Draken and Takemichi both ignored Mikey and continued to focus on the egg.

Takemichi’s mind was racing with worry. He tried to stay calm, but anxiety overwhelmed him.

“Takemitchy, don’t worry. I’m sure the egg will hatch safely,”
Draken said, placing a comforting hand on Takemichi’s back.

The gesture provided some relief, but Mikey soon uttered a comment that only intensified the tension.

“Hey, Takemitchy. If the egg doesn’t have a baby inside… Can we eat it?”
Mikey asked, causing Draken and Takemichi to freeze.

Draken’s eyes widened in shock, and Takemichi flinched.

His face darkened as he stared at Mikey, who was oblivious to the gravity of his words. Draken was left praying for divine intervention to prevent Takemichi from hating them.

“Seriously, Mikey?! Are you trying to get us hated by our future mate? For goodness’ sake, can you use your brain just once in a situation like this?!”
Draken thought angrily, glancing anxiously at Takemichi.

Seeing his dark expression, Draken feared that they might not just be hated but could lose Takemichi altogether.

“What? I’m hungry,”
Mikey said, confused by their reaction. He didn’t understand why they were upset.

“Mikey-kun, I respect you, but what do you mean by that?”
Takemichi asked, frowning.

“You mean the egg? You said it wasn’t yours, and I’m sure it’s not a beast’s egg. A parent wouldn’t just let their egg go missing or be separated,”
Mikey explained nervously, trying to avoid further angering Takemichi.

“Why does Takemitchy look at me like that?! Did I do something wrong?”
Mikey wondered, not realizing the impact of his words.

Draken, on the other hand, had noticed something unusual about the egg-a distinct mark that resembled a fairy’s pattern.

“No, it can’t be… Fairies wouldn’t let their egg go missing unless intentionally. Who would waste a child? This is the Fairy Clan we’re talking about!”
Draken muttered to himself.

“Huh? Did you say something, Ken-chin?”
Mikey asked, noticing Draken’s murmuring. Takemichi turned to look at him.

Draken, wanting to change the subject, pointed at the egg.

“Look! The egg is hatching!”
he exclaimed, rushing to the table.

Both Takemichi and Mikey leaned in, eyes widening as they heard a faint, sweet sound from within the egg.

“Coooo~~”
The tiny, almost inaudible sound was unmistakably the noise of a baby.

“Eh? Ken-chin, did you hear that?! It’s a baby!”
Mikey said excitedly, shaking Draken.

“Baby?”
Takemichi wondered, confused. He was unsure whether Mikey meant an animal or a human baby.

Mikey peered closer at the egg and saw a tiny, adorable baby inside. Draken smiled at the sight, though initially jealous, the baby’s cuteness won him over.

“Takemitchy, come here and see!”
Draken called, his smile barely contained.

Takemichi, nervous but eager, approached the egg. He was torn between wanting to see and fearing what he might find.

Peering into the shell, Takemichi’s eyes widened in shock. The baby inside wasn’t an animal but a tiny human child with wings. It was so small it could fit in the palm of his hand.

He looked at Draken and Mikey for confirmation.

“That’s the child, Takemitchy,”
Draken said, confirming Takemichi’s realization.

Takemichi quickly returned to another room to fetch clean clothes for the baby, understanding the need to care for the newborn. He handed the clothes to Takemichi, who understood what needed to be done.

Draken was hesitant to touch the baby, fearing he might accidentally harm it.

He didn’t trust Mikey’s strength either, so he left it to Takemichi, knowing he would be gentle.

“What should I do? The baby is so small. I’m afraid to touch it! How can I get it out of the shell without hurting it?”
Takemichi fretted.

Draken offered help, though he wasn’t sure how he could assist.

“Um, Takemitchy, need help?”

Takemichi, teary-eyed, looked at Draken, causing him to panic. In the background, Mikey snacked on chips, oblivious to the seriousness of the situation.

“Wait, Takemitchy, don’t cry! Mikey, use your wind power to help get the baby out of the shell!”
Draken instructed, and Mikey complied.

“Wind power?”
Takemichi asked, wiping his tears.

“Yeah, we beasts have various elemental powers. Mikey has wind, among others,”
Draken explained.

“What about you?”
Takemichi asked.

“I have powers too,”
Draken replied vaguely, not specifying his elements.

Mikey, sensing he was left out, demanded,

“What are you two talking about without me? Tell me!”

Ignoring Mikey, Draken focused on the egg, which had now fully hatched. The top of the shell was in pieces, while the lower half remained intact, and the shell seemed to be moving.

“Look! The egg is completely hatched!”
Draken announced, moving aside as Takemichi approached.

Takemichi, seeing the baby fully emerged, was both amazed and relieved.

“And oh! I forgot to mention there’s a second one,”
Mikey added nonchalantly.

“Two babies?!”
Takemichi exclaimed, shocked.

On the other side of the Black Wolf Tribe, in a dense forest, a pale blond boy sat on a tree, munching on an apple as he waited for someone.

*Munch, munch*

The sound of the apple crunching echoed softly.

His emerald eyes watched the bustling activity on the mountain below, where people went about their daily lives and some argued over females. As he absently chewed, he drifted into thought, recalling events from two days prior.

‘Why does that memory keep popping into my mind?’
he wondered, feeling a peculiar, bittersweet sensation.

‘It’s… sweet? Wait, why am I feeling this way?’

He clutched his chest, a pang of heartache hitting him.

He wasn’t physically hurt, but there was an emotional ache, a sense of urgency. It felt as though he needed to find someone urgently or risk regretting it forever.

Lost in these deep thoughts, he didn’t notice his friend approaching from behind.

“Dude, you okay?”
the friend, a black male, asked with concern, startling the blond boy so much that he nearly fell out of the tree.

“Geez! Don’t scare me like that!”
he shouted in irritation, though his friend simply laughed at the reaction.

“Hahaha!!!”
The laughter continued, further irritating the blond boy, who jumped down from the tree and began to walk away, leaving his friend puzzled.

“Oi! Where are you going?”
the friend called out, confusion evident in his voice.

Without looking back, the blond boy replied,

“I’m heading to the witch doctor of this tribe!”

“Eh!!?? Are you sick or hurt?”
his friend asked, alarmed, and started to follow him. But the blond boy’s response froze him in his tracks.

“None of your business!”
he said, his voice calm but firm.

“……..”
His friend stood in silence for five minutes, processing the unexpected reply.

“Huh?! What do you mean by that?! None of my business?! You- Come back here!”
he shouted, but the blond boy was already far away.

Just as he was about to follow, a large, blue-haired man, looking quite displeased, called out to him, asking where he was going.

The black-haired boy explained his intention to catch up with his friend, but the big man informed him that the meeting he had attended was already over and that he needed to return to their tribe. Although the black-haired boy was not entirely satisfied with this answer, he had no choice but to comply and follow the large man back.

Meanwhile, the blond boy, whose mind was still clouded, found himself standing before the witch doctor’s stone house.

He looked behind him, realizing how far he had come from his previous location. Puzzled, he wondered why he had arrived there.

‘Um… why am I here again?’
he thought, with no answer forthcoming.

*Sigh* I guess I’ll just go back-‘
He turned around to leave but was stopped short when he saw Lang Zhu standing in front of him.

Startled for a moment, the blond boy’s surprise quickly faded as he recognized Lang Zhu, who was carrying a bundle of herbs and a stack of firewood on his head.

“Ohoho~ Isn’t this Seishu?”
Lang Zhu said, his voice warm and welcoming.

Seishu, as the blond boy was called, widened his eyes in surprise at seeing the old man. Despite his initial intention to leave, he now found himself in front of Lang Zhu. Observing Lang Zhu struggling with the load, Seishu offered his assistance.

“Ah, here, let me help you,”
he said, stepping forward to take the bundle of firewood off Langzhu’s head and entering the house with him.

Lang Zhu, initially taken aback, soon let out a small, appreciative smile and followed Seishu into the house.

༻﹡﹡Lang Zhus POV﹡﹡༺

As I was nearing my house, I spotted a certain figure standing in my front yard.

‘Hmm? Who might this be?’
I wondered, trying to recall if I had someone visiting today. Maybe it was Takemichi… but no, it wasn’t him.

“Ohoho~ Isn’t this Seishu?”
I said with a small smile. It had been a year since I last saw him, and to think he would visit today was a surprise.

Seishu seemed at a loss, clearly shocked to see me. From the look on his face, it was evident.

Seishu was not someone who easily opened up, unlike his sister. He walked over and offered to help, which was much needed given my burden of heavy items.

How could I let this opportunity slip away?

“Yes, please, I’d appreciate the help,”
I said with gratitude.

Seishu took the branches from my head and entered the house, where I followed him. While he put the branches down, I placed the herbs in another room. After finishing, I approached him.

“My, my, what brings you here, Seishu? Are you here for medicine for your sister?”
I asked, noticing the slight flinch in his demeanor.

I knew he was sensitive about his sister, but as a doctor, I needed to understand how I could help.

“……”
Seishu was quiet, seemingly hesitant to speak.

“Go on, tell me,”
I encouraged him, earning a glance from him.

He nodded and answered,

“It’s not about my sister; it’s about myself.”

This revelation surprised me.

‘Huh?! Weird? Did he just say it’s about himself? Not his sister?!’
I thought, clearly astonished.

“Hmm… That’s new,”
I mused.

“About yourself? Alright, then please tell me: Are you hurt? Sick? Which part? And how do you feel now?”
I asked, grabbing a leaf to write on.

“Ummm… I’m not hurt or sick… It’s just…”
Seishu’s words trailed off.

“It’s just?”
I prodded, curious about his condition.

“I’m weird… I feel weird… I don’t know what that smell is, but I want it so badly! I… I feel hurt here…”
He said, clenching his chest in confusion.

“Feeling weird, smelling sweet but not knowing what it is, and feeling hurt in your chest… or should I say, heart,”
I noted, listening closely.

“Hmm… Hmm… Can I know if you met someone before these feelings started?”
I asked, eyeing him closely.

Seishu thought for a moment, then suddenly widened his eyes before reverting to his usual expression.

“I don’t… think so…”
He wasn’t sure.

“You don’t think so?”
I queried.

“…… Yeah, but it started when Koko and I went to the market…”
Seishu said, then spaced out slightly as if recalling something.

“Then I saw a female…”
he continued uncertainly, still trying to remember.

“Seishu, can I ask if you already have a partner?”
I inquired, wanting to know if he had someone in mind or if this female was new to him.

His immediate deadpan response made me sweat a bit.

“No,”
he said simply.

This puzzled me, as I wondered why many of the younger generation, except for Draken and Mikey, didn’t have partners. It made me worry about their future.

Sigh…

“Then one last thing…”
I said, placing the leaves on the table and turning to face him.

Seishu looked at me seriously.

“What is it?”
he asked.

“Did you feel like there were butterflies in your stomach, like something was fluttering around?”
I asked, studying his emerald eyes closely.

“…………. I did feel it… Why, Lang Zhu doctor? Am I… am I going to die?”
he asked seriously, almost making me laugh if not for his earnest expression.

“No, no, no. You’re not going to die. You’re just in love,”
I said, causing him to be shocked and disbelieving.

“Me? In love? Lang Zhu doctor, are you sure you’re not mistaken?”
he asked, his face awkward with sweat.

“Hohoho, no, I’m not mistaken. You’re really in love with the female you met at the market,”
I affirmed.

Seishu remained silent, processing this new information.

“Well then, why don’t you go find this female and confirm it yourself?”
I suggested. It was a pity since I had planned to introduce him to Takemichi, but if he was already in love with someone, it couldn’t be helped.

Seishu stood up, placed a crystal coin on the table, and left without another word. I wasn’t shocked; I knew he would follow my advice.

“He’ll find the female who captured his heart… *Sigh* Youth these days really make old folks jealous…”

As I returned to sorting my newly harvested herbs, the door creaked open, drawing my attention to the person who had barged in. There stood Takemichi, draped in animal skin clothes, carrying something wrapped in his arms, accompanied by Mikey.

“Lang zhu-san! Please examine my babies!”
Takemichi said with a worried expression, making me freeze at the mention of “my babies.”

“Eehhh???!!”
