Random Kny One Shots [Requests Closed] Flower Crowns | {Doukaza}

Theme: Fluff

Akaza sat quietly on a tree, looking off into the distance. He didn’t have the energy to go out and do much so he’d just went by a house and watched until everyone had fallen asleep then he’s kidnapped the men and ate them quietly before retreating here. He was bored now, however, and rested his head lazily on his hand. The air was warm, it being the middle of summer, and he enjoyed the soft breeze that flew by him every now and then. Eventually he heard the air shift behind him and he turned, though he felt he didn’t have to defend himself. He saw Douma balancing on the branch above him and he stood carefully, crossing his arms and lifting an eyebrow.

“Douma? What are you doing here?” Akaza asked, cocking his head in an almost judgemental manner.

“I’m only just passing by, no need to be so hostile, Akaza-dono!” Douma laughed, hopping down to a different branch and lowering himself onto it. He sat down and kicked his legs back and forth playfully.

Akaza sighed and stayed standing. “Okay, sure, what do you want from me? You obviously knew I would be here, no?”

Douma nodded. “You’re quite smart, Akaza-dono!”

“You didn’t answer my question. What do you want?” Akaza grumbled, picking a branch off from the tree and snapping it in half.

“Well, I was out in this wonderful field earlier—and you know how it’s summer, and all the flowers are blooming so brightly and beautifully? Well, I picked some flowers and, in the past around a decade ago, I met this woman who liked making flower crowns! So I wanted to tr-” Douma was cut off when the other Uppermoon spoke up suddenly.

“A woman? Who stayed with you long enough to the point you knew what she liked doing?” Akaza asked incredulously.

“Yes! She died less than a year later because she was being rather careless but I rather enjoyed her company. Anyways, that’s not why I came here,” Douma laughed, waving his hand in the air as if to dismiss the subject.

“Alright then. Continue.”

“Yes, okay. Where was I? Right. So, I wanted to try making some to see if I could remember how, see she wanted me to make some as well! I was picking a lot of pretty flowers. I brought some here with me,” Douma explained, moving his hair over his shoulder and picking out some flowers he’d stuck in it. “This one is.. is a rose! There was bushes of them! There was several pretty ones but I liked the red ones best because they reminded me of blood! Oh, here’s some clovers I thought would look cute, and some really big floppy flowers which names I don’t know,” he said, reminding Akaza of a girl he’d once seen gushing over a bouquet.

“Oh? And? What does this have to do with me?” Akaza asked, still confused.

“Right! So I made some flower crowns,” Douma continued, patting his head and showing the flower crown he’d put on himself, which Akaza hadn’t noticed earlier due to the yellow and white shades that had blended in with his hair. “I thought I should make some extras because it turned out really pretty!” He stood up then, the same height as Akaza though he was some a branch lower, and got another flower crown from wherever he’d stored them and showed it to Akaza. It was an assortment of lovely shades of light pink, pale yellow, and sky blue, all entwined together to a beautiful crown of flowers. Douma carefully placed it on Akaza’s head, leaning a little closer to adjust it.

Akaza flushed, noting the closeness of the two and quickly pushed Douma away once his hands left Akaza’s head. “W-What was that for?”

“Because you’re my friend! So I made you a flower crown. I used those colors because they reminded me of you. For the blue is of your stripes and the pink is for your hair and the yellow is for your eyes! There weren’t any flowers quite as pretty as you, but they should do, right? Besides, it looks lovely! On you, I mean,” Douma clarified, not seeming to notice the way his words could be intepreted. In fact, people would only intepret it one way, most likely, if told this, but he was completely oblivious by the way Akaza’s face was tinting pink. “Do you like it? I made sure to pick out any thorns if I saw some.”

Akaza opened his mouth to respond then closed it. He looked at Douma again and their eyes caught each other’s. They gazed at the other for a moment before Akaza quickly turned away, breaking their eye contact. “Yes.. In your stupid twisted self you twisted something to seem surprisingly lovely. I didn’t think anything twisted could look.. look beautiful. Y..you.. I.. Nevermind,” Akaza stammered, turning away. He went to step back but remembered at the last second that he was on a tree. His hand flew up and started to grab a branch but Douma quickly caught hold of Akaza’s arm and helped him steady himself on the branch.

“Are you okay?” the blond asked, his face lines creased in slight worry.

“Yes, you didn’t have to do that!” Akaza grumbled, although he reveled at other’s touch.

“But.. you were going to fall,” Douma protested, though he quickly let go of Akaza, mistakening the look as fury.

“Whatever.” Akaza huffed and turned to look away. He’d never been given a flower crown before. Was this the same as someone giving a lover a bouquet? Or was he taking this all wrong? Was this just Douma’s stupid mind deciding to give him some flowers? Probably. Did this stop him from blushing? No. And so, Akaza ran off, muttering a quiet “bye” while he departed from the tree, hiding his secret smile as he recalled how close their faces had been just moments before.
