This is going to be a little more modern AU because yes!!

The year goes by and it’s already October. As always, with almost every holiday that she decided required celebration, Mitsuri gathered some ideas and prepared a party with her co-workers, and a couple other friends. This time, it was Halloween. She absolutely adored preparing this because the amount of things she could use as decor was endless.

She woke up, October 1st, so excited and ready for this. She got herself dressed, ate a small breakfast, and dived into planning.

This year she wanted a ball. Like, a dance. Maybe, hm.. A Masquerade! These weren’t as common now, but who says that mattered? Masquerades meant costumes. Which was absolutely perfect. On top of that, they would all look so lovely. Ooh, she should really start putting together her costume right now.

First she needed a plan though. And invitations, which she should hand out soon because then they’ll all make their own plans and she’ll have put a lot of effort for only one person to come. So, Mitsuri quickly decided a list of things of where and when it would be.

Of course more towards night, so say.. around 6pm to the next day. That was when. Now where was somewhere she could host a dance and a place where they could easily switch from dance to movies/sleepovers. Did she know anyone with a big house? Ohh right, that was easy. Mitsuri quickly got her purse and left her house, calling a taxi to her.

~~~
“Nah,” Tengen said, when Mitsuri promptly showed up at his doorstep and asked if she could have the Halloween party at his house.
“But.. but why?” Mitsuri whined.
Because, I was planning for my wives, Kyojuro, and myself, to, ah, have our own time together that day,” Tengen explained.
“Awh, but we could all have so much fun if you would just let me use your house,” Mitsuri pleaded. “Pleasee??”
Tengen grumbled but then Hinatsuru came up behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder. “Tengen, we can always spend time by ourselves a different day. Besides, last year you denied her the permission to use our house at Christmas, so at least allow this,” she said, almost amused.
Mitsuri nodded along, look up hopefully at Tengen who stood, crossing his arms and leaning aginst the door way annoyed. “Fucking hell, fine. But you can’t use my house for the next five holidays or whatever, okay?” Tengen ordered.
“Okay!” The energetic girl bounded off, waving to the Uzui’s before she left to her next destination.
She found herself at the store and immediately dashed to the place she knew the decor was. She gathered plastic pumpkins and cloth for mini ghosts. As she added decoration after decoration into her shopping cart, she passed by someone whom she had to do a double take to recognize.
“Tanjiro?” she asked, backtracking.
The Kamado siblings were in one area which contained sweets and candies of all sorts. Tanjiro looked up and smiled. “Hello, Kanroji-San!” he said cheerfully, holding Nezuko’s hand and bounding over. “That’s.. a lot of things you have!”
“Yes, yes! I’m planning a Halloween party, you two can come if you want?” Mitsuri said, smiling back at the young boy. “I’ll be inviting everyone soon, but I had to plan first, you know?”
“Of course! Can we help?” he asked, shouldering his bag.
“I would love the help, if you didn’t mind. What are you two doing here?” she asked curiously.
“Buying candy! We were going to leave some in front of our house for people who went by,” Tanjiro said. Nezuko nodded, a lolipop in her mouth. She smiled at Mitsuri who patted her head affectionately.
“That’s nice! I think I should do that to.”
“Mhm!”
And so Mitsuri managed to drag Tanjiro and Nezuko into helping her plan the party. It took several days, and more convincing of Tengen to let them use the biggest room for it. Mitsuri also said she wanted it to be a sleepover, so Tengen’s wives went around the house, making the guest bedrooms as comfortable as possible and for several people.
Mitsuri gathered up nearly everyone, inviting them all to the Uzui’s house for the party. She somehow had convince near to all of them to come, with the help of Tanjiro and Nezuko.
It was 2 days until Halloween and she still had to convince one person. Sanemi. He absolutely had refused to come, no matter how much they’d bribed him. Shinobu had threatened him as well—as much as the Kamado’s and Mitsuri had protested against the idea—but it hadn’t worked.
So Mitsuri thought of one last thing as a last resort to make him come (cu-) before they gave up. She made Obanai dress into a costume which he definitely did not appreciate—a rather revealing costume of a cat (he refused to do a rabbit).
Then she drove him to Sanemi’s house and knocked on the door. Shinobu and Tengen were there as well, hiding in the bushes and recording, simply because they found that this would be amusing and entertaining.
Which it was.
Sanemi opened the door, annoyed, and took one look at Mitsuri before nearly closing the door.
“Wait!” she said desperately, pushing the door open.
Sanemi grumbled. “The fuck you want now? If it’s about the party shit then fuck off! I don’t care if Iguro’s going,” he said, crossing his arms.
Mitsuri shook her head. “You sure?”
Obanai stepped forward, knowing it was his cue. He had a long hoodie on, embarrassed about the costume and most definitely not wanting to be seen in it in public.
Sanemi raised an eyebrow. “What, you come here to make me go? Bribing won’t fucking work.”
Shinobu covered her mouth, stifiling a laugh. This was be hilarious.
Obanai grumbled at Mitsuri’s urging look and said, “we’re going inside if I’m doing this. I’m not going to fucking do it in display for the whole neighborhood to see!”
Mitsuri nodded. “Okay! Okay!”
Sanemi sighed.
They walked in, ignoring the scarred man’s protests. Shinobu and Tengen peeked through the windows and lifted their phones to it so only the camera peeked through.
Mitsuri closed the door and Obanai rolled his eyes and hesitently took off the hoodie, revealing the costume underneath. Sanemi’s jaw nearly fell off and his eyes tracked the shorter male’s body, entranced.
“Oh, get your fucking eyes off me!” Obanai snapped, crossing his arms over his chest.
Sanemi blinked a couple times before regaining his composure. He staggered slightly as he walked and sat down, crossing his legs and furrowing his eyebrows. “So is this your way of trying to get me to go?”
Mitsuri bit her lip, unsure what to do as it wasn’t working. She sighed, defeated. “Alright, fin-“
Obanai cut her off with a different air than a second ago. He sauntered over to Sanemi and sat down on his lap. “Are you going or not?” he asked, leaning closer to him.
Sanemi swallowed, willing himself to stay calm. “I’m.. not. I already said, I’m not going..” he mumbled.
Mitsuri watched now, curious. This hadn’t been part of the plan.
Obanai cocked his head, moving closer, one hand on Sanemi’s thigh and the other on his chin. “You will go,” he murmured, lifting the other’s head up.
Sanemi nodded, shakily, his composure dropping completely. “I’ll- I’ll go,” he stuttered, shifting slightly as Obanai’s hand moved dangerously close to an area rather sensitive to him.
“Good.” Obanai’s mouth twitched into a smile and he hopped off, grabbing the hoodie and slipping it back on. Then he turned to Mitsuri. “Kanroji, don’t expect me to do this for you again. Just doing it.. out of curiousity.”
Mitsuri nodded, still midly shocked, then followed Obanai out the door, leaving Sanemi in the chair, expression blank.
The second the door closed, Shinobu and Tengen made their way out the bushes and burst out laughing.
“His face,” Shinobu gasped.
“Priceless,” Tengen agreed.
(*Laughs in that’s the closest to smut I’ll ever write and post 🤭 (on this acc, at least..)*)
Mitsuri was startled, not having noticed they were there in all her nervousness. “Oh- You were here?” she asked.
Obanai took once glance at their phones and his expression darkened. “I swear to fucking god, if you don’t delete that video..” he hissed.
Shinobu instantly put a face of innocence and Tengen copied her. “What video?” they asked, almost simutaneously.
Obanai jumped off the steps and practically pounced, only managing to make Shinobu fall down, Tengen being unharmed. Mitsuri squealed in surprise and hurried to help Tengen detach Obanai from Shinobu.
Obanai panted, his hair a mess, and he glared at Shinobu and Tengen. “I’ll fucking kill you two if you show it to anyone,” he threatened, then stalked back to the car and slammed the door shut behind him.
Mitsuri glanced at the two, worried, and said, “Just make sure nobody sees it, okay??” then followed Obanai into the car.
And then everyone had finally been rounded up and it was Halloween. Mitsuri was at the Uzui’s house first, making sure everything was ready and getting the food along with Hinatsuru and Suma. Makio finished the last of the decorations and then dragged the three women to their room to change into costumes.
Tengen was at the front of the house, waiting for people to arrive.
 Mitsuri giggled as she showed the female Uzui’s her costume. “Me and Shinobu-San are matching! We decided that she would a cat and I could be a witch—cuz her hair fits more as a cat, there’s not really a pink and yellow cat species,” she said, grinning.
Makio nodded. “We tried to get Tengen to match with us and I’m not sure if he really will, but yeah. We’re going to be-” she started, but was cut off by Suma who presented their costumes giddly.
“All three of us are going to be angels! Hina made the wings, look!” she exclaimed, showing Mitsuri fluffy wings that looks to be carefully made.
Hinatsuru smiled. “It was actually fun to make. Tengen suggested we be this, he said, ‘You three should be angels, because you came from the heavens above and blessed me.'”
Mitsuri’s eyes widened in wonder. “How sweet!! Shinobu-San said something like that about our costumes! I thought we were just being this to match and because they’re some of the more popular costumes, but she said I was a witch because I must’ve given her a love potion for how deeply she loves me,” she said, squealing.
Makio had slapped Suma and was now changing as if nothing had happened, as she responded. “That’s nice, when did you two start dating? I never noticed, it seemed so gradual,” she said.
“Ehmm,” Mitsuri thought, tapping her chin. “I think it was actually Kanae-San who pointed it out. We hadn’t before officially asked each other out, only kind of knew. Then Kanae-San asked if we were together and then Shinobu-San asked me out.”
Hinatsuru gave her a sweet smile and helped adjust her hat. “Kanae is a nice girl, no?”
“Mhm! She’s really good sister to Shinobu-San and always nice to everyone,” Mitsuri said in wonder.
Suma rubbed her cheek. “Do you think I can make the mark of the slap here appear to be blush?” she asked, glaring at Makio.
Hinatsuru laughed. “No. Do you need ice?”
“It should go away soon,” Suma pouted. “But it hurts!”
Makio huffed and ignored her.
~~~

Mitsuri greeted the last people to arrive—Muichiro (who had forgotten) and Genya (who had only went back to get Muichiro).

“Hello!” she said cheerfully, closing the door behind them.

“Hi,” Genya said, ushering Muichiro in. “Sorry, he put this in his calender but then forgot where his phone was..”

Mitsuri smiled. “It’s alright! What are your costumes? They look interesting.”

Muichiro looked at her with blank eyes. “I’m a cloud,” he said. “I think.”

Genya laughed nervously. “Yes, you’re a cloud. He wanted me to be a bird because apparently birds make their nests in clouds,” he said, shrugging at Mitsuri’s incredulous looks. “So I’m an eagle, I guess.”

(*EVIL LAUGHTER-*)

Mitsuri nodded slowly. “That’s.. nice! Well, come in, everyone else is already here.”

Genya nodded and followed her as they made their ways through the halls. “Is Sanemi here?” he asked hopefully, holding Muichiro’s hand so he wouldn’t get lost.

“Yes, he was the hardest to convince. Right now he’s in the bathroom with.. Iguro-San,” Mitsuri said. “Don’t go looking for him unless you want to regret it,” she warned.

“Oh,” Genya said. “Well, maybe I’ll talk to him later.”

“You didn’t arrive with him then?”

“No, when I first came here I was with Tanjiro and the others. Then I had to go back for Mui,” he explained.

“Ohh, okay,” Mitsuri nodded. She opened a door and stepped inside, letting Genya and Muichiro go in first before closing the door.

Everybody else was spread out there and Genya and Muichiro made their way to the Kamaboko Squad who were in a corner talking and laughing.

The room—the biggest one in the Uzui’s house—had been converted into some sort of dance-hall, with lights hanging on the cealing (Tengen had done that) and music playing from a radio in the far side of the room.

Mitsuri bounded over to Shinobu who stood by the food table, two drinks in her hand. She handed one to Mitsuri who smiled thankfully.

“So.. what were Tokito and Genya? It was hard to tell,” she said, nodding towards the two who had just arrived.

“A cloud and an eagle, apparently,” Mitsuri said, sipping her cup.

Shinobu raised an eyebrow but said nothing more about the subject. “By the way, there’s alcohol in a box under the table. Make sure the people here underage don’t drink it,” she said, indicating the Kamaboko Squad and Muichiro.

Zenitsu ran by, followed by Inosuke who chased him, shouting. Tanjiro attempted to stop them—to no avail, and sighed. He turned and saw Mitsuri and Shinobu who smiled at him.

“Hello!” he said. “Sorry about those two.. Couldn’t stop them.”

Mitsuri shrugged. “They’re always like that, no?”

Tanjiro nodded. “Really chaotic..”

Shinobu rolled her eyes. “Is there really no way to get ahold of them?”

“I’ve been trying, I’m sorry,” he apologized.

“It’s fine, it’s just irritating how they’re constantly going about.”

“I understand,” Tanjiro said. “I’ll try to lower the amount of chaos they make!” Then he ran off, leaving the two women standing there.

“Want to go somewhere else?” Mitsuri suggested. “There’s the guest rooms that were set up here that the Uzui’s allowed us to use.”

“Alright,” Shinobu decided, putting her cup down. She bent down and grabbed a bottle of alcohol before taking Mitsuri’s hand. “Let’s go.”

~~~
Giyuu was sitting in the furthest corner of the room, far from where everyone else was, alone. It was quieter here, though the music was still loud, and he could keep to himself.
Well, he could but not anymore.
Sabito walked over to him and sat next to Giyuu, cocking an eyebrow as he did. “The hell you doing here all alone?” he asked.
“Trying to find a quiet place here without being bothered,” Giyuu said simply, his head in his hands to quiet the noise a bit.
“Why don’t you talk to the others here?”
“Because my costume’s ridiculous and I’m still unsure how you managed to convince me to wear it,” he huffed. It was of a wolf, with black ears and a tail that matched his hair. He, personally, hated it with all passion, but Sabito had found it adorable on him.
“Liar,” the peach-haired man said, ruffling his boyfriend’s hair. “It’s lovely—on you.”
Giyuu looked up with a pout. “It’s not! It makes me look uglier,” he decided.
Sabito looked at him sharply. “If you call yourself ugly, I’m going to smack the fuck out of you until you stop! And that’s a fucking promise.”
Giyuu blinked. “But-“
“No ‘but’s’, you’re beautiful, and if you lie about that then I’ll fuck you up until you say you are so,” Sabito said.
“You’re going to fuck me?” Giyuu asked, a sly smirk playing on his face.
“Giyuu.” Sabito groaned. “You know what I meant!”
“Do I?”
“Yes.”
Giyuu puckered his lips and leaned forwards as if to kiss him. “Then fuck me!!” he teased.
Sabito rolled his eyed and pushed Giyuu’s face away. “Don’t be an idiot.”
“What? Wanna go somewhere more private??” Giyuu asked, grinning.
Sabito sighed, though he was smiling slightly himself. And it was nice to see Giyuu smile. “Yes, but not to fuck.”
Giyuu pouted playfully. “Whyyy?”
“You know why! Now stop!” Sabito ordered.
“But don’t you want to fu-“
Sabito kiss him, cutting him off, and then pulled back. “Giyuu.” He looked at him sternly again.
“Fine,” he huffed, crossing his arms. “But can we go home? I don’t want to stay here.”
“It’s been only an hour, Giyuu,” Sabito said with an exasperated sigh.
“Then I’ll go home by myself!” he decided. “You can stay here, if you want.”
Sabito shook his head. “No, we’re both going to stay here.”
“Why?”
“You’ve barely interacted with anyone recently!”
“So?”
“You need to be socially interactive.”
“You sound like a parent,” Giyuu huffed.
“Whether I do, or don’t, it’s still true.”
“Fine, I’ll stay here until midnight.”
Tengen popped over, startling the two. “Midnight we’re watching horror movies so leave at like 2am, ‘kay?”
Giyuu rolled his eyes. “Fine. Where did you come from?”
“Heaven,” Tengen said with a smirk. “Now, why don’t you get drunk so you don’t keep sulking here in a corner. Look under the table with the food, I put alcohol there cause none is boring. Bye, now~!”
Sabito and Giyuu stared at him and then he left, seemingly disappearing into thin air.
“The fuck is wrong with him?” Sabito asked after a minute.
Giyuu shrugged then got up. “I’ll get the drinks. Maybe I’ll pass out and you’ll have to take me home,” he suggested.
“You never got drunk easily, Giyuu,” Sabito pointed out.
He shrugged. “Worth a try?”
“Whatever.”
~~~

Aoi stood more to the side of the room, unsure what she should do. Kanao was talking to Nezuko and Shinobu was with Mitsuri somewhere, so she had nothing to do. She stood rather awkwardly, a cookie she’d picked up a few minutes ago held in her hand, untouched.

Inosuke went running by, followed by Tanjiro, and she laughed softly. Inosuke was very disruptive and chaotic, but she found it adorable sometimes.

Inosuke backtracked a bit, making Tanjiro stumble, and he looked at Aoi. He lifted the boar mask he’d brought—which he always wore for some reason, but at least now it wasn’t making him appear out of place—and chomped the cookie in her hand.

“Hey!” she said, jerking her hand away.

Inosuke grinned. “Thank you,” he said, his words muffled by the cookie.

Aoi rolled her eyes and offerend him the rest of the cookie. “Might as well take it if you already ate half of it.”

Inosuke snatched it and shoved it in his mouth, ducking out of the way as Tanjiro tried to scold him. He ran off, pushing the boar mask back onto his head, and Tanjiro was torn between talking to Aoi and following Inosuke.

“I’m so sorry about that!” he said to the butterfly girl, bowing in apology.

“It’s fine, I wasn’t going to eat it anyways.”

Tanjiro nodded, though he still looked worried.

“Why don’t you let me take care of him? You should enjoy your night,” Aoi suggested, smiling.

“Would you do that? I’d hate to put him in your responsibility though…”

“It’s fine,” she reassured him. “I’ve got nothing to do anyways.

“Well.. you’ll have your hands full then.. But alright! If you ever want me to watch him, just tell me. I’ll be with Zenitsu, okay?” he said, smiling back.

“Of course!” she said. He was such a considerate boy, she thought, sighing. She turned to where she’d last seen Inosuke and ran off to chase him because he was now trying to eat all the food.

~~~
Obanai pulled away from Sanemi, panting heavily. “We have to go back,” he mumbled, his cheeks flushed and red. “They’ll wonder what we’re doing.”
“Let them wonder,” Sanemi murmured, pulling him close again.
“Sanemi!” Obanai whined. “We’re not even in either of our houses! We can’t just, like, fuck in someone else’s!”
“Like Uzui would mind,” Sanemi said, rolling his eyes. “It’s not like he’s ever cared about where. And I guarantee—he’d fuck in public if whoever it is he’s with didn’t want it. That’s not an exaggeration.”
Obanai pouted. “I know! But, like, what if we’re caught?”
That’s what you’re afraid of? Iguro- I locked the door, and besides if they had brains they’d know not to go in,” he shot back, crossing his arms.
“But what if someone unlocks the door somehow?? Or just straight up breaks it down?”
“Then they’re mental and they’ll have to deal with it.”
Obanai huffed. “I swear, I’m going to fucking kill you if I can’t walk after.”
“Worth it,” Sanemi decided, kissing him.
Obanai responded with a half-hearted grumble, though he kissed back with the same amount of passion Sanemi held him with. (internal screaming)
~~~

Muichiro had somehow found his way to the cealing of the room and was somehow holding on to the light precariously, swinging around, insisting Genya should fly up now and land on him to make his nest.

Genya, however, would do no such thing. He was frantically running under where Muichiro was sustaining himself up and holding his arms out. Nobody else had noticed Muichiro up there yet, though, because the light was one that changed colors and flashed around so nobody could really see him, figuring the way it kept moving was part of what it was programed to do.

Genya was practically in tears, worrying he’d not catch him in time and Muichiro might get horribly injured. He would ask for help but he was too busy being scared to do that.

But then Tengen noticed the boy running around and followed his gaze up to Muichiro. The man was surprised but also not because he knew how Muichiro was.

He was more irritated and barked, glaring up at Muichiro, “Get down here, you’re going to break the light!”

Genya stopped for a moment and glanced at Tengen. “Can you help me? I’m worried I won’t catch him..”

Tengen shrugged. “Yeah, yeah, if he falls near me.”

Genya shot him a shocked look but went back to trying to catch Muichiro.

Except Muichiro wasn’t even on the light anymore.

Genya looked around urgently, his mind racing. He searched the room, his eyes scanning the cealing, then the walls, then the ground.

Finally, he spotted Muichiro hiding in the corner of the room Giyuu had used to be Genya ran towards him and said, relief washing over him, “How did you get here so fast??”

Muichiro looked up at him. “There was a lot of wind. Clouds move faster when it’s windy.”

Genya raised an eyebrow. They were inside, there was no wind. “Alright..”

~~~
Nezuko swayed around to the music, her hands clasped with Kanao’s. They were doing some sort of dance because Kanao had found Nezuko sitting in the middle of the room quietly and had asked if she wanted to dance.
So that’s what they were doing.
Nezuko hummed as the song continued, unaware that the lyrics were definitely not something she should be listening to—Tengen took care of the playlist and had, for some reason, picked the most dirtiest songs to blast loudly in the room. Kanao could make out the lyrics but decided not to say anything in case Nezuko tried to decipher them.
The song changed ubruptly, making Nezuko stumble. She tripped on her own feet and fell against Kanao who wasn’t expecting this and fell over. The two girls tumbled to the ground in a heap, and for a second they just stared at each other, then burst into fits of giggling.
Nezuko untangled herself from Kanao and helped the other up.
“Sorry,” she apologized, hugging Kanao.
Kanao only patted her and said, with an amused tone, “Let’s get something to eat, we’ve been here for a long time.”
Nezuko agreed and the two made their way to the food table which they found was half ruined. Kanao cocked an eyebrow at that, but then her gaze found Aoi’s apologetic one and the mess of Inosuke who was being held down by Aoi and understood.
“…Maybe we should just make something else,” Kanao murmured, taking Nezuko’s hand and leading her to where she assumed was the kitchen.
They found themselves in a hallway with a lot of doors—which Kanao realized were the guestrooms that Makio had said they were to sleep at—and walked down it, trying to figure out where the kitchen was.
Nezuko heard some sounds coming from one room and suggested they asked whoever was there. Kanao was about to agree, but she put her ear to the door to better hear and reccoiled, deciding against it.
“Why?” Nezuko asked, completely unaware.
Kanao hesitated. “It sounds like.. they’re having too much fun right now to be interrupted,” she said slowly.
Nezuko nodded. “Okay!” she said, clueless of what Kanao actually meant. She went on, skipping, and Kanao followed her. Eventually they found the kitchen and got to work finding ingredients for something.
Nezuko paused. “Wait, what are we making?”
Kanao shrugged. “What do you want to make?”
“Can we make.. brownies?” Nezuko suggested. She smiled. “I found this new recipe of them I wanted to try sometime!”
“What are the ingredients? We’ll see if they’re here,” Kanao said.
Nezuko tapped on her phone, her fingers moving quickly across the screen, then handed it to Kanao who scanned them and started looking through the cabinets and the fridge.
Eventually they found everything they needed and got to work.
They deciding to make double the recipe for other people as well since Inosuke had mostly ruined the rest of the food, and so while Kanao got the containers, Nezuko mixed the ingredients.
They continued for a bit, pausing every now and then to help each other, until all they were left to do was to bake it.
Nezuko dipped her finger in the batter and offered it to Kanao who ate the chocolaty mix.
“It’s sweet,” Kanao remarked, smiling.
“Like you!” Nezuko giggled, booping her on the nose.
Kanao gave her a sweet smile, and helped her pour the batter into the pans. She checked the recipe one last time before they put it in the oven to bake.
~~~

Kyojuro was dressed as a ghost. Mostly because, though he’d had many ideas, he ended up thinking it too much and not having enough time to get what he needed for all of them. So, he was a ghost. Simple and classic, but he found it funny because Zenitsu was so very easy to scared and because the walls of the house were white so it was easier to sneak around mostly unnoticed.

He was looking for Tengen now, the holes he’d made in the fabric a bit too small now that he thought about it. And he nearly bumped into Tengen—who he hadn’t noticed because he’d also been drapped in white—whilst he made his way through the halls.

Tengen laughed and helped Kyojuro steady himself.

“Are you a ghost? That’s surprising,” Tengen remarked.

Kyojuro looked up and squinted at him. “What are you?”

“God,” Tengen said proudly. “My wives are my angels!”

Kyojuro smiled. That was a very Tengen thing to be. He both praised himself by being ‘god’ and he loved his wives for making them angels.

“Hmm, I should’ve had you have a costume,” Tengen said thoughtfully. “You could be a devil because you’re constantly making me think things I shouldn’t be,” he teased.

(giggling)

Kyojuro pushed him playfully. “Tengen!”

He smirked. “What?”

“Nevermind.”

Tengen cocked an eyebrow suggestively but said nothing about it.

Kyojuro changed the subject, sighing. “Where’s the kitchen? I’m hungry and someone messed up all the food in the other room-“

“Uhh,” Tengen paused. “I’ll show you the way.”

They walked down the halls, their lively chatter filling the house as they moved. Tengen stopped, suddenly, and a sly smile crept up his face. Kyojuro looked confused and said, “What happened?” and stopped as well.

“Let’s go to a different way here, Sanemi and Iguro are breaking the bed,” Tengen said simply, steering Kyojuro to a different hall.

“They’re what.”

Tengen only smiled and pushed him along.

They got to the kitchen and opened the door. Nezuko and Kanao were already there, making something that smelled so chocolatey and sweet. The two girls were laughing and smiling as they spoke, seeming to be waiting for whatever it was they were making to be done.

They stopped when they noticed the two men walk in. Nezuko greeted then and Kyojuro smiled at her.

“What are you making? It smells delicious!” he declared.

“Brownies,” Kanao said. Nezuko nodded. “Nezuko wanted to make them.”

“I love brownies!” Kyojuro said.

“What food do you not love?” Tengen asked. Kyojuro shrugged. “Ehm.. rotten cheese?”

“Who the fuck would like rotten cheese anyways??” Tengen said incredulously.

Kyojuro shrugged. “Dunno. I tried it and it was horrible! So don’t try it!”

“WHY WERE YOU EATING ROTTEN CHEESE??” Tengen said, grasping Kyojuro by the shoulders and shaking him.

“I was 2!” Kyojuro protested.

“THAT’S WORSE!!”

Kanao and Nezuko stared, unsure what to make of this.

Then the timer beeped and they went to go and check on the brownies, glad of the interruption.

Tengen stopped shouting at Kyojuro and watched them take out the pans, carefully setting them on the counter. Kyojuro looked at it like a child whose favorite food was ready and his eyes stayed on the brownies.

Nezuko smiled. “We should let it cool down first, though, Rengoku-San.”

“Awh..” he pouted, but agreed and waited.

~~~
Tanjiro sighed and turned to Zenitsu who was standing next to him. “Well, what do you want to do now?” he asked. “Inosuke’s with Aoi-chan now, so we mustn’t let ourselves worry unless she needs help.”
Zenitsu shrugged. “To be honest, it’s annoying when he’s going around like that but when he’s not here there’s nothing to do.”
Tanjiro laughed. “Yeah.”
They were silent for a moment, unsure what to do, then Zenitsu said, “So.. What are you? I’m being a lightning bolt- Cause my hair is like the color of it?”
“Ohh, yeah! That’s cool,” Tanjiro said, smiling. “Me and Nezuko are both animals! I decided to be a wolf or dog, I dunno, and Nezuko is being an owl!”
Zenitsu smiled and reached up to pet the ears Tanjiro had clipped on. “It’s soft.”
Tanjiro nodded. “Kanroji-san picked them for me!”
“Oh-?”
“Yeah, we were shopping and ran into each other there.”
“Ohh, okay,” Zenitsu said. “Well, I’m going to go now. I don’t know what to do here-“
“We can go trick-or-treating?” Tanjiro suggested. “I know Nezuko wanted to because some of her other friends were. We can bring Tokito and Genya too!”
Zenitsu nodded. “Okay! Besides, I heard that the adults here are going to be drinking alcohol and it’s best not to be in a house full of drunken gay people,” he said with a light smirk.
“Why are you saying that like it’s an insult??” Tanjiro asked.
“It’s not- Anyways, let’s go find your sister first. I think the other two will be still in this room. Should we bring Aoi and Inosuke?” Zenitsu asked.
Tanjiro hesitated. “Maybe not, Inosuke might go on a rampage. But I’d hate to refrain from askign Aoi to go.. If she wants to go, I’ll take care of Inosuke, okay?”
Aoi, who had just walked by, said, “It’s fine, I’ve got him under control.”
Both boys raised an eyebrow, not convinced, but then Aoi called out to Inosuke who bounded up to them and sat at Aoi’s feet, looking up indignantly at Tanjiro and Zenitsu.
“Oh. Wow.” The blond stared at Aoi in wonder. “How the hell did you manage that??”
Aoi smiled. “It was easy.”
“Okay..”
Nezuko, Kanao, Kyojuro and Tengen walked into the room then, all of them holding pans of what looked liked brownies.
Inosuke’s eyes lit up and Aoi sighed. “Take one piece only, okay?”
The boar-headed ravenette nodded disappointedly but obediently and went to go get one. Tanjiro and Zenitsu followed.
“Nezuko! Want to go trick-or-treating with me, Zenitsu and Aoi and Inosuke?” Tanjiro asked.
“Oh? Sure!” Nezuko said, smiling. She turned to Kanao. “Want to go too?”
She nodded, bringing the brownies to the table. “Is anyone else going?”
“We’re thinking of asking Tokito and Shinazugawa—the younger one,” Zenitsu said. “Figured it’s best if everyone underage left while the others were drinking-“
“Drinking?” Kanao asked, raising an eyebrow.
Zenitsu pointed to the table. “Someone brought alcohol. Wine, maybe.”
Tanjiro nodded. “I can smell it.
“Ookay..”
Tengen glanced at them. “Should’ve kept it more hidden, huh.”
Zenitsu rolled his eyes and didn’t respond.
Just then, Genya walked over to them, Muichiro held tightly in his arms. “What’s happening?”
“We’re going trick-or-treating, wanna come?” Nezuko said expectantly.
“Okay. Though I’m not sure if itll be easier to watch him, but at least he won’t hang from the cealing,” Genya decided.
“What??”
“Nevermind.”
~~~

Giyuu was drunk. He’d been so apt in knocking himself out that he’d actually succeeded and now he was wobbling to the guest room he’d been told was his, escorted by and irritated Sabito.

“You dumbass, why’d you drink so much??” Sabito whined, helping Giyuu walk straight (gay).

Giyuu shrugged. “Because I love you,” he garbled.

“That’s not an answer but alright,” the other sighed, holding Giyuu up.

“Is too!”

Sabito ignored him and opened the door, ushering him inside. “Now you’re going to sleep here and tomorrow you’ll deal with the hangover yourself—I’m not going to help you!!” That was a lie.

“I wanna go hoomee!!” Giyuu protested.

“Too bad, you should’ve stayed sober because now you’re going to be too tired to fight me.”

He huffed and turned away from Sabito who rolled his eyes.

~~~
(sobbing bc idk how to end it since there’s no actual plot here)
It was late now and the Kamaboko squad (plus Muichiro) had come back from trick-or-treating with bags full of candy (Muichiro had snuck back several times and had snatched literal bowls of candy which Genya only managed to give back some because somehow Muichiro had hidden a lot in his hair-). Nezuko was eating one when Mitsuri found them and said, cheerfully, “It’s a little to midnight and we’re setting up horror movies to watch. Do you want to come?”
“I’m going to be the only one not scared!” Inosuke declared.
“Oh- Well, some of us are going to change to our sleep-wear, if you want you can stay in your costumes but otherwise we’ve got a lot of onesies that I bought for us!” Mitsuri squealed.
“I want one!! Kanao, can we both wear them??” Nezuko pleaded.
“Alright..” Kanao mumbled.
Tanjiro smiled. “It would be nice to get into some warmer clothes, I’ll change as well if you have any that fit me!”
“Of course I do! I have tons!”
Genya shifted uncomfortably in his costume. “Me too, please-“
“Okay!”
“I guess I’ll wear one. Would be a pain to sit in this costume,” Zenitsu said, sighing.
“Yes, yes, follow me! I’ll take you to them and you guys can change,” Mitsuri said with a giddy smile.
~~~

They all sat in the room—minus Giyuu who was asleep—with some snacks and piles of pillows and blankets. Tengen pressed the button and the projected screen changed to show the beginning of a movie. He’s gotten a stream of movies so they added up to be 8 hours in total—not many movies if you thought about it, only about 5 or so but Tengen figured nobody would stay up till 8am anyways.

As the movie started, nobody reacted much at first, mostly getting comfortable. But then a doll came into view and sent Mitsuri hiding under the sheets.

Tengen laughed at this. “It’s only just started!!” he said.

Mitsuri squeaked. “They scare me a lot.” (Same, which is why I’m not explaining them bc I don’t watch them-)

Tengen shrugged and continued watching.

As the movies continued on, some of them drifted off to sleep and others, mostly Mitsuri, fainted in their own fear. And when morning came and the clock ticked to 8:45am, the movies stopped. Nobody was awake to see it end, though, because everyone was asleep in their big sort of jumble of bodies and pillows and blankets, tired of the night’s occurrences.

Except Giyuu who awoke alone, confused, and with a pounding head.
