“Sabito, why did you become a demon slayer?” Giyuu asked.
The two young boys were sitting in their room, resting after another hard day of training.
“Well…I want to make sure that what happened to us doesn’t happen to other people. And I want to protect them and kill all the demons, especially the ones that killed our families,” Sabito said, flashing a confident smile.
Giyuu smiled vaguely and said, “I became a demon slayer to avenge Tsutako. I’m going to kill that bastard that did that to her.”
Sabito nodded. “We both are! And we’ll avenge my family and all the families of all the people whose parents or siblings died!”
Giyuu agreed and lay back down on his bed, mind racing through the possibilities of killing Muzan Kibutsuji. And even if he didn’t live to see the day the demon king fell, he could see Tsutako again. Just think positive, look into the future, and be happy. Just like Tsutako taught him.
Giyuu felt warmth around his body and looked down to see Sabito draped over him. “Hm?” he hummed, sitting up slightly.
Sabito smiled softly at him. He moved off of Giyuu and settled himself next to the ravenette. Giyuu, surprised, tensed for a second before remembering that it was Sabito. And Sabito was safe. He cuddled up to Sabito, wrapping his arms around the peach hair colored male.
Sabito’s soft laugh echoed in the quiet room as he wrapped his arms around Giyuu protectively. Giyuu buried his face in the crook of the Sabito’s neck, loving the warmth and comfort he was feeling from the other.
“I’m going to protect you, Giyuu. Even if it costs me my life,” Sabito mumbled, playing with the ravenette’s locks of hair.
Giyuu shook his head lightly, looking up at the taller male. “No, don’t die for me, Sabito… You don’t have to protect me. It’s okay!”
Sabito smiled at the ravenette’s words nodding lightly. “I can’t promise that, but I can promise that I’ll always love you.”
Giyuu sighed, content. “I’ll always love you, too, Sabito.”
