This is a soulmate AU, I got the idea from a BL; hold me tight.
Enjoy.
“Hey, did you hear about the freak who can’t feel heat?”
“Can’t feel heat, what do you mean?”
“Like he can’t feel anything that’s hot, I heard about it when I was in the deans office, this new guy is wearing a bunch of layers and it’s 70 degrees outside.”
“Oh, I just saw him in the hall, he looks like a burn victim.”
“Hey that’s rude to say.”
“Maybe that’s why he can’t feel anything.”
“Or maybe he hasn’t met his soulmate yet.” Said a kind girl.
While the ignorant college students talked, the person of discussion walked in and took a seat near the window.
The sun was out and he tried to stay warm as much as he could.
Sadly he could only feel cold, and it wasn’t fun to always be cold.
“Look at him, it looks so bad.” They continued to whisper.
“Come on, stop staring it’s rude.”
The professor was late, so one of the guys decided to go and talk to the new student.
“Hey, you’re new this term?” The tall blond asked.
“Yeah, I finally got accepted.” He answered kindly.
“Cool. Aren’t you hot with all that on?”
“No, I’m actually cold.”
“Flash come on, class is going to start soon.” Said his girlfriend.
“The professor isn’t even here, and I’m just saying hi to the new student.”
Before he could do whatever he was planning, the professor finally walked through the door.
“You’re meat better be in a seat. That includes you mr. Thompson.” He looks up at the student, full knowing he would cause trouble if he was a second later.
“Now then, for today’s lesson…”
The professors voice gets drowned out, as the heat resistant student stares out the window thinking about how he would kick flashes ass after class.
“Hey, excuse me.”
He looks over to see a guy, a bit smaller than himself, with tousled brown hair and matching colored eyes.
“Do you have a pencil? I somehow forgot one.”
“Oh yeah.” He digs in his bag and hands him the number 2 pencil, their fingers touch for a second, but in that second he felt a strange sensation that was new.
“Thanks, I’m Peter by the way.”
“Wade.” They shake hands and wade feels the sensation again, even more this time.
He was left feeling perplexed and stares out the window for the whole class, wondering what this new sensation could be.
After class, wade was quick to leave, he felt like he was going to be sick.
“Wade?” Peter followed him, he was going to give the pencil back but he became worried about him.
Wade gets to the bathroom and runs hot water over his hands, steam was coming from the water but he felt nothing, just how wet his hands were.
“It doesn’t make sense. Was that heat when I touched him? Or something else?” He says to himself.
“Wade?” Peter entered the bathroom.
“Ah! um I mean hey. What’s up?” He became flustered.
“I wanted to give your pencil back, but you seem troubled.”
“Oh I’m fine.” He said with a shaky voice.
“Aren’t you burning up? You have so many layers, and the water is scorching.” Peter could see the steam from the water as it falls into the sink.
“I don’t feel heat, at all. And I look like this.” He pokes his face that was riddled with scars.
“Oh, that’s what those people were talking about.” He remembers the conversation he overheard.
“Yeah, I knew someone would try to talk shit, I was gonna beat up that one guy, but then…” he trails off, almost spilling to him that he ran off because he felt something after touching him, that wouldn’t be a good first impression.
“Wade, don’t pay attention to flash, he’s always been like that.”
“Yeah, I’ll try to ignore him.”
“Come on, what’s your next class?” Peter changed the topic.
“Um, I don’t have class again until noon, with mr. Briggs.” He looked at his schedule the dean gave him.
“Mr. Briggs is so boring, he’ll tell you all about his favorite era, but not actually teach about history. For whatever reason his class is required when going for any degree. I’m going for engineering and had to take his class.” Peter rambled.
“Wonderful.” He rolls his eyes sarcastically.
“So you don’t have class for two hours, neither do I. Let’s go have lunch.”
“Cool, maybe you could give me a tour too.”
“You didn’t do that when you first enrolled?”
“Yeah but it was boring, they didn’t even show me the dorms, or frat houses.”
“Oh it’s not that kind of college, we don’t have fraternities. But I can show you the dorms, did you get a room?”
“No, I told someone that I wanted a room, but I wasn’t given one.”
“Well I have a two room dorm, you can stay with me.” Peter smiles softly.
“Thanks.”
After lunch, they went to Peter’s dorm so Wade could finally put his stuff down.
He put the two bags he had with him in the second room, it was spacious and had a nice bed.
First day of college and he has a roommate. Wade was excited to experience the college life.
They tour the campus, and enjoyed the nice weather.
“Wow time sure flys.” Said Peter as he checked the time on his phone.
“Is it almost time for class?”
“Yeah.”
“Hey, watch where you’re going.”
“I’m sorry, are you hurt?”
Two girls had accidentally ran into each other, one grabs the others hands apologetically.
they both gasp, and stare at each other.
“I can see colors, you’re shirt is that red?”
“Yeah. And I can smell, the air and grass wow.”
“You’re my soulmate.” They say in unison.
“Wow that was cute. I can’t wait to meet my soulmate.” Said Peter as he watched the interaction.
“Yeah, I’d love feel heat finally. What’s your locked sense?”
“I can’t see colors.”
“That’s why you have mixed clothes.” Wade giggles.
“What? No I don’t. I only ever wear black. I can see the shades just not actual colors.”
“I’m just messing with you.” Wade puts him in a headlock and messed with his hair.
“Hey come on, don’t ruin my hair.”
Wade could feel warmer than before, as he continued to touch and tickle Peter.
“Come on, stop it.” Peter stared at the ground as he was still in a headlock, he didn’t notice the tiny spots of color on the sidewalk, he was too busy trying to get out of wades grip.
“Let go already.” He steps harshly on wades foot and was finally set free.
“God, you play too much.”
When he looked up at the world, it was different, the grass, the sky, wades clothes.
“Holy crap. I can see colors.”
“I knew it. When we shook hands earlier, I felt something.” Wade smiles.
“Wow, I can’t believe it.”
“Believe it, you’re my soulmate.” Wade was quick to pull the smaller adult close.
“Wait.”
“Why?”
“We’re outside, people can see us.” He blushed.
Wade picks him up without a word and finds a small corner hidden from any peeping Tom.
“Now, we’re alone.” Wades lips gently touch peters cheek as he whispered softly.
“Can I kiss you now?”
“Yes.”
Their lips press gently together, the heat that wade felt was amazing, but the layers were starting to bother him.
He sheds the coat and scarf, without breaking the kiss.
Eventually they pull away for air and wade takes the hoodie off.
“I guess it’s getting hot with all those clothes on, huh?” Peter smirks.
“Not as hot as you, baby boy.”
They continue to kiss, wade picks him up and holds him against the wall.
“Wade, we shouldn’t be doing this outside.”
“Wanna go back to, our dorm?” He says with a smirk.
“But class is going to start soon.”
“You’d really go to class rather than get freaky with your soulmate?”
Peter whimpers with a blush, he’s been waiting for this moment since he learned what soulmates were in middle school.
Now it’s finally happened and he’s nervous for it to go any further.
“Are you scared?” Wade asked.
“No, I just- don’t think we should rush.”
“You’re right. I’m sorry.” He sets him down, “let’s go to class.”
They didn’t have any other classes together, but they met up in between and talked, maybe give a kiss or two.
Eventually the day was over and they went back to their dorm.
“I’ll still sleep in this room, unless you want me with you?” Wade said with a smirk.
“Wade, don’t rush it.”
“I was just teasing you.” He kissed his head.
“Okay, well I’m gonna make dinner now.”
Wade sat in the living room as Peter made spaghetti. He would watch him every so often, and look away when Peter would turn towards him.
“Wade, do you need something?”
“Huh? Um no, why?”
“Because you keep staring at me.”
“I just like watching my lover cook.”
Peter blushed brightly, he lost his balance for a second and dropped the box of noodles.
“Don’t say stuff like that.”
“Haha I can’t help it, I like to tease you.”
Peter ignores him and finished making dinner.
“Wow it smells so good.”
“Thanks.”
They don’t talk much as they eat, but Wade would stare at him and smile when he got caught.
“Hey wade.”
“Yeah?”
“Can I ask, what happened?” He gestured to his face.
“Oh, yeah. Well I developed cancer and went to some crazy guy to help me. He turned me into a mutant, the side effects were this.” He shows his arms.
“My whole body looks like scar face had sex with an avocado.”
“My god, but do you still have cancer?”
“Nope, i can’t get sick anymore. But now I look like this.”
Peter didn’t know what else to say, he continued eating with a sad look on his face.
“Hey, I’ve gotten used to it, mostly. I don’t care what people think, and now I have my soulmate, so I couldn’t be happier.”
“Yeah, I’m happy too. I’m glad I can enjoy the bright color of your eyes.”
“Such a sweet talker, keep it up.” Wade gives him a goofy smile.
“Haha, finish your food first.”
They spend the late evening on the couch, watching Netflix.
Wade had his arm around peters shoulders, trying to get him to cuddle.
“Wade, I’ll fall asleep if we sit like this.”
“So? I’ll take you to your room if you do.”
“Don’t try any funny stuff.”
“I would never. Just cuddle with me.”
Peter reluctantly laid his head on wades chest and felt his strong arms wrap around him.
It was so warm and safe, within a few minutes Peter was asleep.
“Hey, Peter. Wow no joke, you really fell asleep.”
He picks him up and takes him to his room, like he said.
“Goodnight, baby boy.” He kissed his head.
Wade went to his own room and flops on his bed, sleep was fast to hit him too, as he falls into slumber.
Cute fluff for once. Maybe a part 2..
