“no its not like that.” i spoke to my sister destiny on the phone. Whenever i was away we’d always called each other. it was midnight and we both had school tomorrow but she wouldn’t stop with her annoying questions. I’ve just never heard you speak about a guy like this.” I straightened up. “what do you mean?” Of course I knew what she meant and she wasn’t wrong. It was the first time in a while i never had a guy friend who I didn’t go clubbing with or drinking but i still wanted to hear her thoughts. she chewed disgustingly on her chips, the sound echoed through the speaker. “like he isn’t a toy.” i rolled over and put my phone in the charger discarded on the floor. “he is just my friend and besides I don’t like him like that.” i could almost see her rolling her eyes. “keeps telling yourself that. I give it seven months romen and lets see if your still saying that. “destiny was always interested in my love life. it was the first thing she asked me about when i called her not even a “are you settled in romen?”
“Shit moms coming, bye mwah I’ll call you tomorrow.” By tomorrow she definitely meant a week.
I tossed and turned in my bed before i decided to get out of my room. I couldn’t sleep. I put on a hoodie and slides then went outside. Everyone’s in their dorms right now and It was really dark out but what else could you expect at midnight in cold England. The cold crawled up my skin when i left the building, the faint lights illuminating from the streets were the only signs of life. I had no set destination, i just walked wherever my feet would take me.
The forest. The towering trees concealed any form of sadness i carried with me. I found comfort in them. Like they were bigger problems than mine and more significant. I crunched the fallen leaves beneath my feet as i walked further in. It was quiet and still. The large expanse stretched on for miles upon miles. Ive been meaning to check the forest out but I’ve always been occupied with people and school, but mainly people.
As i walked further in to the forest i spotted someone’s silhouette against one of the biggest trees I’ve seen just yet. It was dark out so i couldn’t really make out the person. I walked further in, not bothering to conceal my presence, and finally caught a glimpse.
