{Vincent}Â
   Sitting on the couch, reading through the newspaper, I heard Rody in the other room. He was still upset over the letters, but I told him all I was willing to. He wouldn’t understand. “Vincent, what do I feed the cat, we’re all out of tuna!†I glanced up from the newspaper article. Of course this cat was a problem, I knew sooner or later it would be. Why he insisted on keeping it, I don’t know. “I don’t have cat food.†“Yeah, that’s the problem.†He walked into the living room, and looked towards me. He had the cat in his arms. “Do you mind if I go and buy some food? I wouldn’t be long-†“Why do you bother with it.†He raised a brow, as if daring to tell me what I was suggesting. When’d he learn to be so annoying? “Forget it. You’re not going alone.†I looked back towards the paper. “Great. I’d like to leave right now, because Oreo is hungry..†I sighed, and placed the newspaper down. “Rody.†I glared.Â

{Rody}
   “Yes-?†I set the cat down gently. I would’ve just left, without even asking, but part of me also wanted to spend time with Vincent, outside of the apartment. Fresh air would be nice. But I don’t think he understood the point. “It’s just a cat, Lamoree.†“Fine, I’ll go alone then.†I grabbed my shoes, slipping them on, and then grabbed the cat, taking it with me. I closed the door, and I could hear Vincent getting up off the couch. I didn’t wait for him though. I just walked down the stairs, away from his apartment. And maybe while I’m at it, I’ll go to the Vacher’s house, and ask questions.
   Suddenly, I felt someone grab my coat sleeve. It was obvious it was Vincent, but he didn’t say anything, just held on tightly to my sleeve, before letting go. “Damn you.†He muttered.Â
30 minutes later…
   Vincent continued to walk beside me, his hands in his leather jacket’s pockets. I continued to hold Oreo close to myself, and walk. We’d gotten the food, but I could tell Vincent was pissed off at me. While walking, I glanced towards a music shop, with a “hiring†sign. “Vincent, would it be okay for me to get a different job from the bistro? It doesn’t.. Feel right to work for my lover-†I laughed a bit. I looked towards him. I could see him looking at me out the side of his eye, then look towards the sign. “Here?†“Yeah, I like music, and I know a couple things about a guitar.†Vincent stared at the store, as if trying to tell its ‘worthiness’. He then walked towards the building, and opened the door for me. I smiled, and held Oreo closer to myself. As we entered, there were instruments hanging on the walls, closer to the ceiling than the ground. A guitar, a violin, a cello, a clarinet, a flute, and a trombone.Â
   There were vinyl records on the shelves, cassettes, and CDs. “Hello, how can I help you?†My eyes drifted to a man with dark brown hair, and green eyes. He leant over the counter, looking at me and Vincent. I took a small breath, and walked up to the counter. “I’d just like to get the number of this place-? For example, a job applicant?†I smiled a bit. The dark brown haired man raised a brow. “A job applicant? You thinking about working here?†He looked Vincent up and down, and his face turned into an apprehensive look. “Or him?†I glanced at Vincent, then looked back at the man. “Me-†He seemed relieved when I answered, and nodded. “I’ll be right back then. If the boss isn’t too busy, she might just be able to take your interview with you here and now.†He smiled, then turned, walking away towards a back room. I looked at Vincent and smiled. “Isn’t this place lovely?†His eyes were still on the door that the store clerk had gone through. I nudged him. “Vince.â€
   His eyes snapped towards me. “Hm.†“Still pissed off?†I smiled a bit. He glanced down at me, before suddenly snatching Oreo from my arms. “You have fur all over you, if the owner of this store is anything like me, she’ll-†The back room that the man had walked through opened with a woosh. A short woman, with her hair up in a messy bun, clothes sort of a mess, and glasses taped up, came scrambling out. “So, you’re the new applicant, huh???†She said with so much sweetness, she could be a gummy bear. I nodded, and she smiled widely. “Oh, thank goodness!! I thought it would be the other guy, y’know?†She said that last part, sort of whispered, even though Vincent was standing right next to me. I could see his eyes narrowing out of the corner of my eye, but ignored it, and gave her a smile. “My name is Mary! Alright, how soon could you start working, hmm??†Mary asked, eagerly. My eyes widened. “How soon-? Doesn’t that question come after-†“After an interview.†Vincent said, finishing my sentence for me. The woman glanced at Vincent, but didn’t pay him much mind as she continued with me.
   “Well, yes, but you see, we’re already pretty short staffed, and you seem like a lovely fellow!! And we’ve seen you around before, and you’re a good kid. So? How soon??†I paused, and glanced at Vincent, who was already looking at me with his cold gaze, as always. I looked back at Mary, a soft smile on my face. “I could start tomorrow-?†She practically beamed. “Tomorrow?! Great Heavens, you must be pulling my arm!!†She laughs, before turning around, and shouting. “Len!!!†The man I’d seen before came out with a paper, and another set of the uniform he was already wearing. He set it on the counter, and gave me a charming smile. “It’ll be great to have you as my co-worker. Someone to talk to and all.†Suddenly, Oreo meowed loudly. I looked over, and saw Vincent squeezing the poor thing, although it didn’t seem on purpose, as he was glaring at Len. If his gaze weren’t so cold, he might have been able to burn holes through his head.. I quickly grabbed Oreo away from him, and looked back at Len and Mary, forcing a smile to hide my concern, and somewhat annoyance towards Vince right now. “Thank you both, really.â€
