I just realised that I already published a part without the one before that :/
So yeah; here you go. Sorry for the confusion
The next day was a day off and the whole crew flew over to Nashville, Tennessee. After a four hour long flight, they finally arrived and several drivers picked them up to drive to the hotel. “Just arrived in the city!”, Evie quickly texted Taylor while they left the airport. Taylor had already flown over in the early hours of the day and she usually didn’t fly with the other crew members of the tour as she had her own private jet. “I can’t believe it’s your first time in Nashville. Like, where have you been???”, Taylor texted her back and Evie had to suppress a laughter. “Who are you texting”, Nick, her guitarist, asked her and tried to get a glimpse of her phone screen. “Hey! Give me some privacy.”, she snapped back and was luckily able to lock the screen before he could have read anything. “I just want to know who the new muse for your songs is that’s all…I hope he’s not a dick.”. They all had no clue was was going on between Taylor, which was fine because Evie wanted to protect their new dynamic as much as she could but it also annoyed her a bit that she was so straight-passing. Of course, she had never had a girlfriend before and had never opened up about her sexuality but she new well that it would become a big thing if she would come out to anyone because it wasn’t that obvious. And she hated big announcements. But this was problem for future-Evie, she thought to herself and told nick: “You would find out sooner of later but for your information, there is no guy. I was just texting a friend that’s all.”. And that particular friend sent her another text just in this moment. “I know they booked a hotel room for you in advance but I told you that I stay at my own apartment here. Do you want to stay at mine today?”. Evie’s eye lit up and she tried to hold her head as low as possible to make sure that no one saw the expression on her face. Of course the wanted to stay at Taylor’s apartment as it meant that they could spend the whole night together without her having to rush back to her room because of bodyguards. “Sure. Thanks for the invite”, she texted her back and Taylor told her that she’d send a driver to pick her up at the hotel later. Evie put her phone into her bag and turned to her bandmates with a big smile on her face. “Oh guys, I love being on tour. Have I already told you that?”. “Yeah, multiple times honey.”, Sarah laughed and added “Sure there’s no guy that is responsible for your mood?”. Evie only rolled her eyes and pretended to try to sleep even though the never slept well in any moving vehicle. She didn’t want to talk about it.
“Welcome to Nashville!”, Taylor said as she opened the doors to her city apartment. Evie stepped in and was already welcomed by the smell of food, plus a quick kiss on her cheeks once no one could see them. “I am cooking lasagna…it will only take 10 more minutes I think.”, Taylor announced took Evie’s jacket to hang it up. Evie was looking for award to spend some time in Taylor’s apartment because she kind of missed staying at her own or someone’s homes while being on tour and in hotels all the time. Taylor took Evie by the arm and showed her around in her beautiful rooms which where though fully furnished just like her townhouse on Cornelia street, the place where they had shared their first kiss. It will forever have a special place in Evie’s heart. “I love it and it’s so…you!”, Evie told Taylor as she glanced around and found little cat decorations here and there. “Speaking of cats…”, Taylor said after she had followed Evie’s glance. “My cats should be somewhere in the kitchen. You need to them.”. Evie laughed and followed an excited Taylor into the kitchen. Taylor had already told her a lot about her cats and she had missed them quite a lot. “They probably don’t care about you because they don’t give a shit about anything but I’ll still introduce you. I bet they didn’t even miss me while my mom took care of them when I was away…”. In the kitchen, they found the three cats eating from their feeding bowls, minding their own business. One was cuter than the other, Evie thought to herself. Taylor went down on her knees to pet them and Evie copied her to do the same. She had never had a pet in her life and had always envied others who had their own. “So this is Olivia, this is Benjamin and this is Meredith. My babies.”, Taylor grinned and Evie could sense her love for them just by the look she gave them while they really didn’t seem to care if they petted them or not. “They’re really cute. I’m sure you’re a great cat mom.”. They were both on their knees, smiling at each other when Taylor took a strand of loose hair and put it behind Evie’s ear. It was a perfect moment; Her cats, this beautiful apartment and them both sitting on the kitchen floor. “But more importantly is that I am a great host today.”, Taylor suddenly said and stood up to look inside of the oven to check on the lasagna. Evie was a bit thrown off by that quick mood -change but it was okay since she was also a bit hungry and ready for dinner. Evie gave Taylor’s cats another glance and finally stood up to see what Taylor was up to. “I am a bit scared to call it my signature lasagna in case you don’t like it but here isss.”, she said as she held the steaming oven dish in her hands with her cat-print oven gloves over her hands. Evie chuckled. How could Taylor be the literal music industry and such a weirdo at the same time and in the most perfect way? In her own apartment, it was easy to forget about their roles in the public eye. They were just two young women enjoying their free evening in each other’s company. “Should I help you deck the table?”, Evie asked and looked helplessly around because she has no idea where to find Taylor’s cutlery and plates. “No no, it’s fine. You’re the guest, you can sit down.”, Taylor came to help and pointed to the dining table, which was in the room next door. „Alright.”.
Evie went over to the dining room which had a floor to ceiling glass front which allowed one to have a breathtaking view over the city. In the dark, the city lights created a beautiful atmosphere which reminded Evie of New York, her favourite place on this world. The dining table had room for six people and Evie was a bit lost as she didn’t know where to sit. When she finally sat down, she glanced at the little photo wall on the wall opposite the glass front. There were different pictures from Taylor and her loved ones from various times in here life, all in different picture frames, which were all a little bit crooked. Taylor was very loved, not only from her fans but also from her friends and family who supported no matter what and who were also able to count on Taylor themselves. Evie felt lucky that she had also become a part of Taylor’s life and happy to be able to spend to so much time with her. „Here we go…”, Taylor said as she entered the room and interrupted her thoughts. She put the two plates with each a delicious looking piece of lasagna on the table and disappeared into the kitchen again to get the cutlery and something to drink. „Cheers to a girls only evening!”, Taylor announced and raised her glass, when they were finally both sitting at the table. „Cheers!”, Evie said back and smiled brightly at Taylor. This felt like the first official date; not like a hangout with your friend and not like a meeting to work on music.
It was finally time for Evie to test Taylor’s cooking skill but Evie wasn’t a big cook herself which is why she never criticised other people’s food. But there was also no need to do so as Taylor was actually a really great cook which was something she had not told Evie before. „This actually so delicious!”, Evie announced and looked into the face of a proud looking Taylor. „Thanks! But why are you saying it like it’s a huge surprise?”, she laughed. „I don’t know. You’re always on the run and busy. A lot of big artist have a private chef and some don’t even have a kitchen. I expected you to be more of a take-away-girl…like me, with the difference that I’m not a big artist.”, Evie explained herself. „Don’t always talk yourself down. Don’t you see how full the stadiums are during you’re set?”, Taylor asked and had a more serious expression on her face now. Evie didn’t know what to say and only nodded. „A lot of times, the majority of the audience with fixed seating tickets only come half an hour before the actually show. I saw that with other opening acts. And I noticed that the stadium is already packed when you’re on stage and they are actually singing along to you’re songs, believe it or not…”. Taylor was not wrong. There were always so many people seeing her set which made it even more fun but Evie was really insecure when it came to her career and couldn’t believe that people were truly interested in her. She really needed to work on that. „I try to believe it. I’m still a bit sad tho that I am going to have one audience member less if you’re not watching tomorrow.”, Evie said and referred to Taylor’s appearance in the audience at the last concert. „This video haunts me. It’s everywhere on social media. I saw Harry Styles doing it at his show and he wasn’t catched that early!”. They both laughed. It was a bit of a nervous love from Evie’s side because she knew that Harry was Taylor’s ex and even though Taylor had told her that they were cool now, she didn’t know if it was really the case. To the outside world, she was also cool with her ex boyfriend while in reality she was far away from that.
They both chatted, ate and laughed and time flew by as always when Evie was around Taylor. Everything seemed easy and fun with her. „God I’m really full now. Shall we bring the dishes into kitchen real quick and hang out on the sofa?”, Taylor asked when they were all done and Evie agreed with a nod. In the living room, which also had a great view over the city, they both laid down on the sofa to digest the delicious meal. Evie looked outside the window to watch the street lights, oblivious to to Taylor who watched her. „Thank you for coming today. I wanted to hang out with you like this, just like normal people.”, Taylor said and catched Evie’s attention again. She turned around to face Taylor who looked her deep in the eyes. „Thank you for inventing me. I like hanging out with you like normal people. I hope we can do so more often.”, Evie told Taylor but it was more of a question. They were touring for some more time and she didn’t know if this allowed them to hang out this way. They were always in hotels or at the stadium and when they hung out in public, they hung out as „besties” and were photographed by paparazzis. You couldn’t go anywhere with Taylor without paparazzis following you. They never gave her peace. „I hope so too but I don’t know when or how. It’s quite hard when there are always people around.”. Taylor’s voice sound sounded a little worried and Evie didn’t want this conversation to ruin the good mood of the evening. „Let’s not worry about other people when there’s literally no one but here…”, Evie said and took Taylor hand. It was warm and soft and her heart was full when Taylor intertwined her fingers with hers. „You’re right. Today’s girls only as I said.”. Evie leaned forward and pulled Taylor in for a kiss. She had wanted to kiss her the whole evening but there had not been the right moment for it. They had confessed their feelings for each other but Evie was still a ball of nerves when she stood in front of Taylor.
