Unbroken Hopes|| Charles Leclerc X Max Verstappen(Lestappen)Wildest Dreams Book2 Sun-kissed joys

The morning sun filtered through the sheer curtains of their villa, casting a warm glow across the room. Charles was the first to stir, blinking awake as the light touched his face. He turned his head slightly, smiling at the sight of Max still peacefully asleep beside him, his expression soft and content.

Not wanting to wake him just yet, Charles carefully slipped out of bed, padding quietly across the cool floor to the large glass doors that led out to the terrace. The ocean was calm, its waves lazily lapping at the shore, and the sky was painted in shades of soft pink and orange. It was a perfect morning—one that promised a day full of possibilities.

As he stood there, taking in the view, Charles felt a familiar pair of arms wrap around his waist from behind. Max’s voice, still thick with sleep, murmured against his ear, “Good morning.”

Charles leaned back into the embrace, a smile playing on his lips. “Good morning. Did you sleep well?”

“Like a baby,” Max replied, pressing a kiss to Charles’s shoulder. “What about you?”

“I don’t think I’ve ever slept better,” Charles admitted, turning his head slightly to brush a kiss against Max’s cheek.

Max smiled, tightening his hold on Charles for a moment before pulling back slightly. “What do you say we spend the day at the beach? Just us, no plans, no schedules—just fun.”

Charles turned in Max’s arms, his eyes lighting up at the suggestion. “That sounds perfect.”

After a quick breakfast of fresh fruit and pastries delivered to their villa, they changed into their swimwear and grabbed a couple of towels, ready to spend the day soaking up the sun. The beach was just a short walk from their villa, and as they stepped onto the warm sand, they both felt an immediate sense of freedom and joy.

The beach was nearly deserted, giving them the feeling that they had the entire stretch of paradise to themselves. The water was a stunning shade of turquoise, clear and inviting, and the sound of the waves was soothing and rhythmic.

Max spread out their towels on the sand, while Charles kicked off his flip-flops and took a few steps toward the water, letting the cool waves wash over his feet. “It’s perfect,” he called back to Max, who was adjusting the umbrella for some shade.

Max looked up, watching Charles with a fond smile. “It really is. Want to go for a swim?”

Charles grinned, turning to face Max. “Race you there?”

Max raised an eyebrow, a competitive glint in his eyes. “You’re on.”

Without another word, Charles took off toward the water, laughing as Max quickly caught up with him. They splashed into the waves, the cool water a refreshing contrast to the warm sun on their skin.

They swam side by side, diving under the waves and emerging with laughter, the sound carrying across the empty beach. Max was the first to reach the deeper waters, turning around to see Charles swimming toward him with an expression of pure joy.

“Come here,” Max called, holding out his arms as Charles reached him.

Charles swam into Max’s embrace, wrapping his arms around Max’s neck as they floated together in the water. The sun shimmered on the surface, casting sparkling reflections all around them.

“This is incredible,” Charles said softly, resting his forehead against Max’s. “Just being here with you, no distractions, no pressures—just us.”

Max nodded, his hands gently holding Charles close. “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” he replied, his voice equally soft.

They stayed like that for a while, letting the waves carry them as they floated together, perfectly in sync. Eventually, though, the call of fun and mischief was too strong to resist.

“Think you can handle some beach volleyball?” Charles asked with a grin as they made their way back to the shore.

Max smirked, already knowing that Charles’s competitive streak was kicking in. “You’re on.”

They found an empty volleyball net set up further down the beach and quickly got into the game, the sand flying as they chased the ball back and forth. Both of them were skilled athletes, and the match quickly became a fun, energetic battle of speed. Their skill to do any other sport then racing lacking.

Charles managed to spike the ball over the net, sending Max diving into the sand with a laugh. “Nice try!” Charles called, raising his arms in mock victory.

Max, lying in the sand, just grinned up at him. “I’m just getting started, Leclerc.”

The game continued with plenty of laughter, playful banter, and even some exaggerated dives that had them both in stitches. By the time they called it a draw, both were breathless and grinning, their faces flushed with exertion and happiness.

They collapsed onto their towels, the sun warming their skin as they caught their breath. “I think you got sand in your hair,” Max said, reaching over to brush some grains from Charles’s tousled locks.

Charles laughed, shaking his head slightly. “You’re one to talk. I think we’re both a mess.”

“But a happy mess,” Max said, leaning over to kiss Charles’s forehead.

They spent the rest of the afternoon lounging on the beach, alternating between napping under the shade of the umbrella and splashing in the shallow waves like a couple of carefree kids. When they got hungry, they wandered over to a nearby beachside shack, ordering fresh tacos and cold drinks to enjoy at a small, weathered table overlooking the ocean.

The food was delicious, but what made it even better was the way they fed each other bites, laughing when a bit of sauce ended up on Charles’s nose or when Max tried to steal an extra bite.

As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, casting long shadows across the sand, they decided to take one last swim. The water was cooler now, but still inviting, and they waded in slowly, hand in hand.

The evening light made everything feel almost magical, the sky painted in shades of pink, purple, and gold. They swam close together, their movements slow and languid, just enjoying the serenity of the moment.

After a while, they drifted back to shore, where they lay down on their towels once more, watching as the sun finally dipped below the horizon, leaving a trail of fiery orange in its wake.

Charles turned his head to look at Max, who was gazing out at the ocean with a peaceful smile on his face. “I wish we could stay here forever,” Charles murmured.

Max turned to him, reaching out to take Charles’s hand. “Me too. But no matter where we go, as long as we’re together, it’ll be just as perfect.”

Charles’s heart swelled at the words, and he leaned over to kiss Max, their lips meeting in a slow, sweet kiss that tasted of saltwater and happiness.

When they finally pulled back, Charles smiled, his thumb brushing over Max’s knuckles. “I can’t wait to see what other adventures we’ll have.”

Max grinned, his eyes sparkling with the promise of many more days like this. “Whatever comes our way, we’ll do it together.”

With that, they stood up, gathering their things and heading back to their villa, their fingers intertwined. The day had been nothing short of perfect—a day filled with laughter, love, and memories they would cherish forever.

As they walked up the path, the sounds of the ocean still in their ears, they knew that this was just the beginning of a lifetime of happiness, adventure, and unbreakable love.
