The parents just left. Thank god. I needed him out of my house. I can’t believe he will be sleeping in the bed my parents used to share for the next two months. He should be disgusted with himself.
“What do we do now?” Jessie asks. We are sitting in the living room. They are both on the couch while I am sitting in one of the chairs. I never sit in the chairs. Why would I? The couch is more comfortable and I can put my feet up. These chairs are uncomfortable. My ass hurts.
“We should go into the pool,” Levi says.
“There isn’t a pool,” Jessie says.
“Yes, there is. It’s in the back” He says. I nod to back him up. I avoided showing them it during the house tour. I have no desire to go in with them. I don’t want to wear a bathing suit in front of them. Especially today.
“I invited someone over he should be here in about…” I say and look at the time on my phone when there is a knock on the door. “Now,” Perfect timing if I do say so myself. I expected him to be here in like fifteen minutes. I get up and open the door.
In walks my dreamy 5 foot 11′ football quarterback with his short brown hair and baby blue eyes. I’m just kidding, he is not the quarterback but he is on the football team at our school. Also, if you ask he’ll say he’s 6 foot. He is dreamy though.
“Hey” I give him a quick kiss on the cheek. I don’t care that they’re watching. They won’t be coming in between me and my boyfriend.
He then waves to the two of them.”This is my boyfriend, Casey” I introduce him. I’m so fucking sick of these introductions.
“Hi” Jessie says to him. Levi is just staring.
“This is Levi and that is Jessie” I say.
“Nice to meet you” I can tell he fells awkward right now. He would never ever say nice to meet you to someone.
“You too” She says.
I turn toward Jessie, “Do you know how to order pizza?”
“Uh yeah” She says in a no-shit kind of way.
“Great. The number to the pizza place is on the fridge. Order when you get hungry” I grab his hand and start pulling him upstairs. “Come on”
I’m glad that interaction is done. We go upstairs to my room. I give him a small peck on the lips. I would have when he got here but that felt awkward to do in front of the two kids so I just kissed him on the cheek. We sit on my bed. I leaned against the headboard with my legs in front of me. He sat facing me on the other side of the bed. I finally get to turn my show back on. It was just background noise now but at least it was playing.
“Really? This show again.” A few months back I made him do a rewatch with me. I don’t think he expected to watch whatever random episode I turn on every single time he comes to my house.
“Yes really. Are you sleeping over tonight? Please say yes.”
“Is your mom going to be home?” This is already sounding like a no.
“Yeah probably” I wouldn’t be surprised if she got a hotel room with her homewrecker.
“Then no” He says.
“Why not? You sleep over here all the time” I say.
“We’re not allowed to sleep in the same bed. We sleep in the guest room. Those two beds are occupied. If your mom weren’t going to be home I would sleep in your bed with you. Also, we don’t want to stir the pot more after what happened.”
“I’m gonna have to get a trundle. You will be sleeping here this summer”
It was quiet for a moment. “So what are you doing this weekend?” He breaks the silence.
“I’m at my dad’s house this weekend”
“So you’re going to be gone?” He asks.
“I’ll be fifteen minutes away. I’ll be back here on Monday… maybe. We’ll see how the rest of the week goes with them here” I say.
“I’m gonna miss you” He says
“I’m going to miss you more” I say.
“Not possible” He says and leans in for a kiss.
“I’ll make sure to see you again before I go” I say as I pull away.
“What are you doing tomorrow?” He asks.
“I don’t know. I’m sure we are doing something but you can probably come. If my mom brings her boyfriend I’m bringing mine. It’s only fair” I say.
“At least I’m not a homewrecker”
About twenty minutes later we decide to head downstairs. We are starting to get bored and hungry. Hopefully, Jessie ordered the Pizza. Jessie and Levi are sitting on the couch. He is lying with his head on her lap again and watching TV. He is watching whatever the new big show on Disney Channel is nowadays. She is sitting on her phone playing a game. They must be bored too.
“Hey. Did you order the pizza yet?” I ask as I’m walking down the stairs with Casey right behind me.
“Yeah. It should be here soon” Jessie says.
I sat on one of the chairs again and Casey sat opposite me. No one said anything. It was so awkward. We should have stayed in my room. I watch whatever this garbage show is on in the meantime. The pizza man finally arrived and I did not skip a beat in turning off the TV. I get the pizza and pay the guy while Casey sets the table. Jessie and Levi are sitting at the table waiting. We start eating and it is dead silent. I don’t know why my mom and their dad just dumped them here with us like I do not know these children.
Afterward, we all went to our bedrooms or their temporary bedroom.
“Finally some alone time” Casey says as he closes the door.
I turn to face him. He pulls me in and kisses me. I pull away. “Casey, not with the kids here.” I say.
Don’t get me wrong I wanted to but it would just be so awkward if they heard.
“They’ll never know”
“Fine but clothes stay on” I say.
He leans in again and his lips are on mine. I grab the back of his neck and pull him in closer. His hand starts to travel through my golden blonde hair while his other is on the small of my back. I pulled away from the kiss for some air. I saw my phone on the bed light up. It can tell it is a text notification from my mom. “Wait one sec”
I quickly look at the text. She is letting me know that they will be home in twenty minutes. You have to be fucking kidding me.
“Ok, you have to leave” I say to him.
“Why? We were just getting started” He says.
“My mom and that guy are on their way home. Besides I’m not sleeping with you with two kids across the hall.” I say.
“Ok fine” He says. We stand up and I open my door. I turn to go downstairs when Casey speaks up.
“Shouldn’t I say goodbye to them?” He asks.
“If you want.”
He knocks on the guest room door. I hear Jessie yell “come in”.
“Bye guys. I’m heading out. I’ll see you soon” He says to them. Jessie was sitting on her bed on her phone and Levi was on his bed lying on his stomach on his iPad.
“Bye” They both say to him in unison. They both barely looked up. So creepy.
“My mom and your dad will be home soon” I say.
“Ok” Jessie says.
Me and Casey go downstairs and to the front door.
“I’ll talk to you later” I say.
“Ok” He says and kisses me.
“I love you” I say after the kiss.
“I love you too” He says back and heads out the door. I turn around and I see Levi on the staircase. He was watching the entire thing and was quietly laughing.
“Yep. That was so funny” I say emphasizing the so.
“It really was” He says and keeps laughing. I swear I saw tears coming out of his eyes.
“Did you come down here to get something or you were just being a little stalker?” I ask.
“I needed something but I forgot what after watching that” He says and starts to calm down.
“Come on let’s go upstairs” I say.
He starts walking up the stairs and I walk up behind him.
“I’ll see you in a little bit” I say.
He goes into his and Jessie’s room and I go into my room. My mom got home less than 5 minutes later. She comes upstairs and knocks on my door. Am I busted? I yell come in and she opens the door.
“Hey,” She says and closes the door behind her. She sits across from me on my bed. “How was your night?” She asks.
“It was good” I say.
“Are you getting along well with Jessie and Levi?” She asks.
“Yeah they’re ok” I say.
“That’s good to hear” She says.
“I was nervous you weren’t going to like them” I don’t. It’s more about who their father is though.
“I’m going to go to sleep now” I say. That’s a lie. I just don’t want to listen to her. She has no right to be this happy after what the two of them did to my dad and I.
“Ok. Goodnight. I’ll see you in the morning” She says and stands up.
“Goodnight” I say and she walks out.
