“Love wasn’t in my vocabulary until I met you.”
ROSÉ
“Did you see that? Jennie smiled at me!”
“I can’t believe this! Jennie greeted me back!”
“Am I dreaming? Jennie said hello to me.”
“I can finally die, Jennie noticed me!”
“What happened to the expressionless Jennie?”
“Jennie looks better when she smiles!”
“Jennie accepted the flower I gave her!”
Those were the things we heard from the students in the hallway. I was not planning to believe those hearsays but then I saw how Jennie smiled and bowed back to the student who just approached her.
“Jisoo-unnie. Pinch me!” I said while my eyes are still glued on the smiling Jennie who was already waving at us from afar.
“Why?”
“Just do as I say!”
“Aww! That’s too hard!”
“You wanted it!”
“Look! This is not a dream right? Are we seeing the Jennie Kim we know?” Jisoo looked ahead and just like me, she was shocked too.
“I can’t believe I’m seeing this!”
“Is she possessed?”
“Maybe…seeing her smile is kinda weird.”
“What’s weird?” Jennie asked. We didn’t feel that she’s already in front of us.
“You,” I frankly said.
“Why are you smiling?” Jisoo asked.
“Why? Am I not allowed to smile?” Jennie pouted.
Seriously?! Now she’s acting cute?! Ohmygosh! This is a miracle!
“N-no. It’s not that… it’s just our first time seeing you like this.”
“I just want a change Roseanne!” Jennie responded, still wearing a gummy smile.
Now she’s teasing me huh?
“It’s Rosé! Not Roseanne!” I complained.
“Stop deceiving people. That’s what we saw in your birth certificate,” she rolled her eyes at me but then she smiled again. Maybe I should get used toward seeing her like this, right?
“But honestly, what’s gotten into you?” Jisoo asked, still not convinced by the sudden change.
“Nothing. I just wanted a change. I’m a changed person now,” Jennie answered with all honesty.
I hugged her. I admit, I kinda like her better now. At least, she’s starting to be expressive. I like the change, her change. Jisoo joined in. She hugged Jennie too.
“Thank God you finally become a normal person!” Jisoo teased which made Jennie break free from the hug.
“Am I not a normal person before?”
“No!” Jisoo and I said in chorus.
“You’re so harsh!” Jennie said as she gently hit us.
“Oh right, I still have a class to catch! See you later girls!” she said when she looked at the time in her wrist watch only to realize that she’ll be late any minute. We watched as Jennie slowly disappeared from our sight.
“I like her better,” I mumbled.
“Me too. But I like you best,” Jisoo said while trying her best to hold her laughter.
She almost got me. I thought she was serious for a moment. She is such a player! Sometimes I can’t tell if she’s telling the truth or not because she’s never been serious. She jokes a lot and I kinda hate that.
“Hmmp! I hate you unnie!”
LISA
PLAN #5-Make Her Love You More!
I was walking around the campus when I saw Jennie rushing toward my direction. She must be late for her class. I walked slowly while waiting for her to recognize me first but then as she was getting nearer to me, I can already tell that she didn’t seem to notice me.
I looked around if there are people looking and when I figured out that nobody’s around, I grabbed Jennie’s backpack when she was just about to pass by me which created a strong force that halted her from walking in big steps.
“How dare you! Who do you think you ar-Lisa?” her angered face immediately soften when she realized it was me.
“Are you in a rush? You didn’t notice me. “
“You’re wearing a cap and specs. It’s kinda hard to recognize you. Sorry!” she said as she pouted her face. I smiled at her and took a peck on her lips. She was surprised by my bold move but it somehow made her blushed.
“Someone might see us!” she said while hitting the back of my shoulders.
“Let them see then. You better start running to your class if you don’t wanna be late!” I winked at her before she started running towards her class with a smile plastered on her face.
A Day Before the Midterms
“Why is everyone so busy?” I asked when I saw Jennie, Irene, Jisoo, and Rosé in the library with a pile of books in the table while facing their own laptops. I sat beside the preoccupied Jennie Kim. She looked at me and gave me a tired smile.
“Because it’s midterms?” Rosé sarcastically muttered.
“Don’t you have plans of reviewing Lisa-yah?” Irene asked while typing something on her laptop.
“Lisa doesn’t need to review. I have never seen her with a book in her hands but still she always ace every exam!” Jisoo said in almost a whisper.
“So you’re that great Lisa-yah?” Jennie asked without looking at me. I sneakily held her left hand and intertwined it with mine under the table. She eyed me giving off a warning that our friends might caught us but I just low-key shook my head and seized her hand tighter.
“Not that great. I just listen to the discussion of my professors all the time. I’m an auditory type of learner you know.”
“I wish I was as intelligent as you,” Rosé sighed.
“You must eat avocado in order for you to be as smart as me,” I jokingly said which made Rosé looked at me angrily.
“I hate avocados!”
“What do you love then? Walnuts? Peanuts? Everything that has nuts?”
“Stop it you two, I’m trying to focus here,” Irene plainly said.
“She’s right. You’re distracting me!”
“Wow. Just wow. Coming from you Jisoo huh?” Rosé protested.
“Let her be. Jisoo is more inspired now that you’re reviewing together,” Jennie teased which made me chuckled.
Examination Day
“What’s that?” I asked when I saw that Jennie is bringing two paper bags with her.
“Cookies, cakes, chocolates, something like that.”
“Who gave you that?”
“Mino, Kai, Jackson-They’re too many to mention,”
“Don’t eat that. You’ll fail if you do.”
“But what do you want me to do with this?” Jennie said while raising both paper bags.
“Give it to…her,” I grabbed someone who was just passing by. Jennie raised her brows when she saw that I grabbed a girl. She then gave it to the girl who was too happy to see Jennie giving her a gift.
“Happy? What now?” Jennie asked, from the look on her face, I can clearly tell that she’s now annoyed.
“Take this. I personally cooked it for you,” I said before I gave her the lunch that I made just for her. It magically lightened her mood.
“Thanks! Goodluck in our exams!”
After the Examination
“What’s the problem?” I asked as I entered their office. It was just us here. Jennie kept ignoring me since morning and I don’t even have the slightest idea why she’s doing that!
“Why aren’t you talking to me?” I asked again when she just stayed quiet. She’s not even looking at me.
“Jennie-yah,” I tried to hold her but she pushed my hand away.
What the hell is her problem?! She’s like a kid!
“Jenn-“
“Go away. I don’t want to talk to you!”
“But I want to talk to you…why are you acting like this huh?” I said trying to sound sweeter than my usual voice. She was sitting on a chair and so I went around her and hugged her from the back.
“Get off me!” she said while she tried to untangle my hug but then I just wrapped my arms around her tighter.
“No. Not until you tell me what’s wrong.”
“Are you still not gonna talk?”
“Jennie-yah?”
“Jagiya?”
“What’s the problem?”
“You. You didn’t reply to my texts!”
What? She texted me?! When?!
“When did you text me? I haven’t received any messages!” I sat in front of her then I gave her my phone.
“Let me see the number you texted,” I said as I took her phone that was resting on the table.
“Jennie-yah this isn’t my number!”
“What?! Let me see!” she grabbed my phone and read my digits. She then burst into laughter when she saw that she typed the wrong number. She typed 1 instead of 7.
“What are you looking at?” she asked when she noticed that I was just looking at her.
“I was just stunned. You look really pretty when you laugh.”
“I know!”
“Wowww. You’re getting more confident each day.”
“You’re spoiling me with compliments everyday Lisa.”
“Ohhh. So I was the culprit?”
“Who else?”
I was about to speak when Jennie’s phone buzzed. She picked it up and then she stared at me and then she stared back at her phone.
“What did you send me in my email Lisa?”
OHMYGOODNESS! I almost forgot that I sent her something funny! I must get that phone back before something terrible happens!
“No no no no. Don’t open that! Please! I am begging you!”
I tried to grab her phone from her hands but then she swayed it away from me. I tripped when I tried to grab it again and it gave Jennie the chance to run towards the door. I sat down in defeat. I don’t know how am I supposed to face her once she saw that video.
Do you know what I just did?
I recorded a video of myself doing the yum yum and ottoke song!
