Startled by the sudden inquiry, Lord Tang paused for a moment before waving his hand to summon someone.

Before long, Tang Lan’er entered the grand hall, dressed in a bright peach-colored outfit. At that moment, she exuded the aura of a junior sect leader, her expression solemn. She brushed back a few strands of hair from her forehead and locked eyes with Luo Jinxiao.

Luo Jinxiao felt a surge of delight. Whether Tang Lan’er showed up or not didn’t truly matter to her, but since she was here, the situation became much more interesting.

“When you rescued Huai Shan and Huai Yu that day, you were present, weren’t you, Young Master? Could you tell us, did you see any demonic energy emanating from my Master Uncle?” Luo Jinxiao asked.

Tang Lan’er shifted her gaze, quickly understanding the implication of Luo Jinxiao’s invitation. She shot a sharp glance at Luo Jinxiao but nevertheless answered in a loud voice, “I did not.”

Upon hearing this, the silent onlookers began exchanging looks of surprise.

“Then, when the two of you were captured by the demon race, were you both awake?” Luo Jinxiao pressed further.

At this, Tang Lan’er laughed dismissively, turning her gaze to Huai Shan and Huai Yu. “Awake? They both nearly perished in that tower. It was I who saved their lives; there was no question of being ‘awake.’”

At her words, panic flickered in Huai Shan and Huai Yu’s eyes. They quickly turned to Qu Chengzhou, pleading, “Elder Qu, what we said is the absolute truth!”

The situation grew increasingly perplexing. The sect leaders who had originally believed Huai Shan and Huai Yu began to murmur among themselves.

Qu Chengzhou’s expression darkened further, his gaze turning fierce as he fixated on Luo Jinxiao.

“However, to settle this matter, Qu family head, we implore you to allow us to examine whether there is any demonic energy on you. This would resolve everything. We have come from so far away; we wouldn’t want to cause anyone embarrassment,” the leader of the Life and Death Sect said with a feigned benevolence.

“Embarrassment?” Luo Jinxiao remained firmly positioned in front of Qu Weiyin, ignoring Qu Weiyin’s eyes as her own gaze shifted to Qu Chengzhou.

“Then let me show everyone what true embarrassment looks like.”

“Luo Jinxiao, what are you doing?” Qu Chengzhou finally spoke up.

“I’m not doing anything; I just want to show everyone something,” Luo Jinxiao replied with a playful smile. With a snap of her fingers, a small talisman materialized at her fingertips.

“What is that? It looks unfamiliar,” someone in the crowd queried.

“This? I developed it in a dream,” Luo Jinxiao said as the talisman suddenly erupted with a brilliant golden light, casting a soft glow that illuminated the top of the grand hall.

Within the soft light, droplets of water vapor began to appear, coalescing into a shape until it gradually formed a magnificent palace adorned with brilliance, at its center resting a gilded throne.

Qu Chengzhou’s pupils narrowed instantaneously. He stepped forward, reaching out to stop Luo Jinxiao, but was forcibly pushed back by Qu Weiyin’s raised hand.

Qu Weiyin’s expression mirrored his shock; her gaze was fixed on Luo Jinxiao’s profile, a whirlpool of emotions swirling in her eyes.

The discussions within No Regrets Palace grew louder, and the disciples outside strained to get a glimpse of the unfolding scene.

While the image remained hazy, it was clear that standing at the center was Qu Chengzhou.

“Did we catch her?”

“Hmm, she always has that Qu Weiyin protecting her. It’s not easy to capture her without a sound,” Qu Chengzhou had said in the vision.

“I’ve wanted to eliminate her for a long time. She caused me to lose my position as the head of the family, and as soon as I complete my cultivation, she will be the first to die!”

The sudden twist in events left everyone speechless. The grand hall fell into a profound silence, and one could even hear a pin drop.

Then, in the image, Qu Chengzhou suddenly reached out, and a chilling, ghastly sound echoed. Where individuals had once been bound on the ground, a corpse appeared.

“It’s Ke Xiu! It’s Ke Xiu!” Elder He exclaimed, pointing at the image above, his voice filled with shock.

A collective gasp echoed throughout the hall. No one had expected to witness such a scene. Outside, disciples reacted with panic—some screamed while others cried, creating chaos.

“Elder Qu, feeling embarrassed?” Luo Jinxiao interjected, cutting through the commotion. Each word she spoke was sharp and deliberate.

Seeing the situation exposed, Qu Chengzhou felt a bit flustered. Enraged, he lunged forward a few steps, but the instant he did, golden spiritual energy erupted from Qu Weiyin, sending him staggering backward in a disgraceful manner.

Qu Weiyin stood beside Luo Jinxiao, her phoenix eyes cold and penetrating as she pulled Luo Jinxiao closer to her side.

“Luo Jinxiao, you need to explain where this came from,” Qu Weiyin’s tone was more urgent and serious than ever.

At that, Luo Jinxiao’s expression shifted to one of grievances. She turned her gaze away, unable to meet Qu Weiyin’s eyes.

“Have you put yourself in danger again?” Qu Weiyin pressed, gripping her shoulders tightly to pull her back into view.

“I didn’t…” Luo Jinxiao’s voice grew quieter until it faded to a mere whisper, barely audible.

She had previously refrained from discussing matters with Qu Weiyin out of fear that she would blame her. Deep down, she knew Qu Weiyin would undoubtedly be angry with her. It would be better to resolve things first, and then perhaps she wouldn’t be so upset.

But looking at Qu Weiyin now, she was still seething with rage.

“Master Uncle, I just wanted to help you,” Luo Jinxiao muttered, biting her lip and casting her eyes down in a pitiful manner.

“You don’t need to put your life on the line to help me! If you don’t come back, what good is any help?” Qu Weiyin gripped Luo Jinxiao’s shoulders tightly, causing her pain. “Luo Jinxiao, you’re really foolish!”

She had avoided mentioning the situation to protect Luo Jinxiao from getting entangled in this dirty business. Yet, here they were; Luo Jinxiao not only stepped in but had also kept it a secret from her.

Qu Weiyin felt an overwhelming mix of anger and concern.

“Stay out of the way,” Qu Weiyin finally sighed, pushing her toward a corner before turning to face Qu Chengzhou, whose face had turned the color of a liver from suppressed rage.

“Elder Qu, Uncle Qu, now that the situation is clear, we should settle old scores,” she said, her lips curling slightly as a glint of murderous intent filled her phoenix eyes.

“Elder Liu, if you please,” she called out.

The door swung open once more, and Elder Liu entered with a swift gait, hands clasped behind his back as he stood beside Qu Weiyin.

“You girl! At your age, you’re making this old man run around!” he grumbled, his expression displaying great dissatisfaction.

The atmosphere in the hall was tense, the various elders and sect leaders feeling like mere bystanders, unsure where to direct their gazes.

“Liu Changxu?” Qu Chengzhou seethed, grinding his teeth.

“Long time no see,” Elder Liu replied nonchalantly, waving his sleeve. As he did so, several figures suddenly appeared on the ground, all tied up and unconscious.

“They’re all disciples of No Regrets Sect!” Elder Mei exclaimed as she crouched down to check their breathing. “They’re alive! Elder Liu, where did you find them?”

“From Elder Qu’s underground palace,” Elder Liu said, stroking his beard with a raised eyebrow.
