Just Say It Back ( Hanni X Male Reader) 27) The Start of a New Chapter

A+ A-

Y/N POV

After LE SSERAFIM’s album’s astounding success, you found yourself standing at the crossroads of a new opportunity that would push your music career to even higher heights.

The CEO of HYBE had taken notice of your musical genius, impressed by the waves your compositions had made.

He had a proposition, one at first made you extremely excited – he wanted you to extend your creative talents to other groups within the label. This included groups like BTS, TXT, Enhypen, Seventeen, and many other groups.

Producers would try for many years, most of them not succeeding, and for you to be getting this opportunity, it’s crazy.

Before only thinking about the positives, you said yes to the position and have signed that you were able to move between labels with HYBE Entertainment.

However, as you thought about it more and more, you finally absorbed the CEO’s words, and a shockwave of surprise coursed through you.

One of the groups you were expected to work with was Ador, the very label that housed NewJeans, and consequently, Hanni. You completely forgot Ador is in the HYBE umbrella.

Although you didn’t have any beef with Hanni after the breakup, you still feel rather awkward seeing her. Even when you saw her in the practice room once, your whole facade of getting over her had broken.

Although you felt as if you had gotten over her, it’s hard to forget about the memories you guys had shared. She was your ex… it just feels weird to see her.

Although you had believed you’d moved on from those feelings, the prospect of working side by side with Hanni once again stirred up a complex blend of emotions.

You hoped that he wouldn’t assign you to help NewJeans but it seems like life had other plans.

Out of all the labels, the CEO had decided that you will be working on NewJean’s upcoming full album.

Your worst fears had materialized, and now you had to face the challenge of working closely with Hanni and the memories that came with her.

As you exited the CEO’s office, a swirl of emotions engulfed you. The prospect of working with other Labels under HYBE sounded like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and was exhilarating.

But the idea of being closer to Hanni – made you feel a certain way you couldn’t explain.

Shy… Awkward… Scared. Sad… Just seeing her face brings so many emotions.

As you headed towards the HYBE studio to pack your belongings, you couldn’t help but feel a sense of nervousness and uncertainty about the journey that lay ahead.

The studio, which had become a second home to you, was now just a part of the past, and Ador awaited with its promise of both musical opportunity and emotional complexity.

*Knock Knock*

A soft knock on the door caught your attention, pulling your focus away from the half-packed studio.

Chaewon’s voice soon followed, filled with curiosity and an underlying concern, her brow furrowing slightly as she greeted you.

Chaewon: “Hey Y/N, what’s up?” Her eye held a glimmer of curiosity as they scanned the studio’s contents.

You turned towards her, a friendly smile gracing your lips, and your eyes conveyed a sense of readiness to share something important.

Y/N: “Hey Chaewon, just packing up.” Your words make her tilt her head in a mix of confusion.

Chaewon: “Packing up? For what?” She stepped a little closer, her gaze darting around the studio at the boxes and your partially disassembled equipment.

Y/N: “I’m going to be at Ador for a while,” you explained.

Chaewon: “Ador????” After a small silence then followed. After a few second it seemed like your words finally enter the leaders brain.

Chaewon: Wait ADOR??? Does that mean you’re leaving?” Her eyes widened with a tinge of surprise, and you could sense her processing this unexpected revelation.

Y/N: “I’m just going to work on NewJeans’ new album,” you clarified. “So they wanted to move me over to Ador for a while.”

Chaewon’s initial surprise seemed to evolve into understanding, yet there was a subtle shadow of sadness that began to creep into her voice.

Chaewon: “Ah… I see…” she said, as she begins to look down, probably sad by your sudden departure. “I guess no more late-night studio visits…” Her tone had a hint of nostalgia, as if she was already reminiscing about those times.

Y/N: “Yeah…”

You nodded, acknowledging the shift in your shared routine, and your eyes held a comforting promise of maintaining your connection.

After you became a producer, Chaewon would often visit you late in the night after practice since you would be in the studio working on music through the late night.

It had become a routine, she would come and talk to you and you two would spend hours talking about random things as well as sorting out any problems the two of you were facing.

It was sad that we wouldn’t be able to do that anymore since your new studio will be at ADOR.

Chaewon: “I’m going to miss our late-night talks after practice,” she admitted, her voice carrying a touch of melancholy.

She looks around the studio and sits down in the spot where she would spend hours talking to you, staying by your side as you continued to make music.

Her shoulders slumped slightly as she spoke, and her gaze once again dropping to the floor momentarily.

You couldn’t help but respond to her vulnerability with a warm, reassuring smile. Your eyes met hers, and the connection was palpable.

Y/N: “You can always call me, Chaewon. I’m not disappearing or anything. Just changing company buildings, that’s all.” Your words were like a gentle embrace, meant to remind her that your bond remained unaltered.

Your attempt to lift her spirits seemed to have an immediate effect, as a small smile graced her lips, like the first rays of dawn breaking through the night.

Y/N: “Cheer up Chae…I’ll be back before you know it.” you said her smile widened.

Chaewon: “You’re right… If anything, I’ll just visit you at Ador.” Her words were an offer extended with genuine warmth.

Y/N: “Sure, if it won’t be a bother, I’d really like that,” you said welcoming the offer with a nod of appreciation and a softening of your gaze, your eyes conveying the depth of your gratitude.

Chaewon: “Just remember to take breaks, okay? .” Her hand instinctively reached out and briefly touched your shoulder, as if to physically reinforce her words.

You reciprocated her sentiment with a warm smile and a nod of affirmation, your body language echoing your readiness to heed her advice.

Y/N: “I’ll do my best.”

With genuine sincerity, she stepped closer, her expression turning warm and affectionate, her presence enveloping you in a sense of care and understanding.

Chaewon: “Y/N, take care of yourself… And don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything.” she said once more, her words were like a gentle embrace, a reminder that your well-being mattered to her.

A warmth filled your chest, and you couldn’t help but convey your gratitude through your gaze, a silent acknowledgment of her caring nature.

Y/N: “Thank you, Chaewon. You take care too.”

With her final smile, Chaewon left your studio, leaving you with a mix of nostalgia for the late-night talks, a sense of anticipation for the new chapter at Ador, and a profound appreciation for the bond you shared.

———-
Wow done! I think I am going to add some fluff in between some chapters. It should all work out in the end, but I think the friendship* between Chaewon and Y/N happened to suddenly so I want to add some fluff to make it more natural. So if you’re a Chaewon x Y/N fan, your dreams will come to reality for a bit.
