The clouds were gray and covered the sun which gave a gloomy vibe. There were students walking in the hallways with an umbrella in their bag in case it rains.
Chaewon walked to her class and she noticed how dark it looked outside. She checked the weather on her phone and frowned seeing there was a storm coming.
She’s not the only one frowning from seeing the weather. If it were to rain when they leave school, then practice had to be canceled.
The green haired sat down in her seat and waited for Hyunjin to arrive.
“Yo Wonie how’s it going?”
The taller sophomore greeted her friend and sat down next to her. The bruise on her cheek was visible but it wasn’t swollen.
Chaewon gives her a smile and stares at the purple spot on her cheek.
Hyunjin notices her friend staring and turns to her “What?”
She doesn’t say anything but pokes her cheek. The taller flinches away from her finger and glares at her.
“Ow! What the fuck dude?” Chaewon just giggles and turns away as the teacher comes into the room.
Hyunjin furrows her eyebrows at her and also faces forward. The bell rings and the teacher starts going over today’s topic.

Thunder roars as a light flashes in the sky. Some students jump at the noise during lunch.
The girls are currently sitting down at their regular table eating lunch.
“I checked the weather before I got here and its supposed to rain all day”
Vivi told them and they groan knowing that practice is going to be canceled.
“Has your dad texted you about practice yet, Hyun?” Haseul questions the sophomore as she sips her drink.
Hyunjin shakes her head and takes a bite of her bread. Jiwoo frowns at the thought of practice being canceled, she wanted to work more on her skills before they scrimmage.
Sooyoung notices her mood go down from across the table. She smiles “Hey Wooming, don’t worry you’ll still be able to practice tomorrow before we scrimmage”
Jiwoo gives her a shy smile “Thanks Sooyoungie, I appreciate that” She looks down at her lap and Jungeun gives her a little nudge.
She looks up at her and is met with a teasing smile. Jiwoo just rolls her eyes and focused on her food.
Sooyoung stares at the younger as she eats. They continued to eat lunch as they talked about anything.
Hyunjin saw her phone light up with a message. She opened the app and saw her dad texted them that practice was still on.
He then sent her a text with an address saying to meet there for practice.
She clicked on the link to see where it was and a familiar building popped up. It was an indoor baseball field with everything they need to practice inside.
“Hey guys, my dad just texted and said to meet up at an indoor baseball field. I’ve been there before and its really cool”
They lit up hearing that practice was still on. They’ve been working hard to learn how to play and want to win the upcoming game. So of course they’re excited to hear that they can still practice.
“Wait really?”
“Indoor baseball field? I’ve never heard of that”
Hyunjin explained to them what is was and everything it had.
The facility had an actual field inside for teams to use. It also had batting cages, a bullpen, a gym and a whole cafeteria for teams to eat.
“Wait there’s a whole cafeteria like this?” Yeojin motions around her. Hyunjin nods and they were shocked to hear how it had everything they need.
Jinsoul looks at her with big eyes “Wow I can’t wait to go practice in there. At least we can still scrimmage right?”
The girls nod and finish their food as Hyunjin tells them more about the facility.
The bell rings interrupting her and they get sad having to go back to class. Bidding goodbye, they walk to class and the seniors go to the library for study hall.

The day passes by like a breeze and the girls are now on their way to practice.
Jinhyuk didn’t bother them today which made them happy. Although Hyunjin still wanted to punch him back for hurting her friends.
They pull up into the parking lot of the facility as its still raining. The building looks like the size of a high school and its two stories.
“Um Hyunjin, you didn’t mention it was two stories?! And why the fuck is it so big?” Sooyoung questions in confusion upon getting out.
“Yooo! This is how big our school is and there’s two floors!” Yeojin jumps out and stares in awe at the building.
Hyunjin shakes her head and watches her friends become shocked at the building.
She sighs “Its not even a big deal you guys are exaggerating. Come on let’s go inside” She pushes them to walk after they grab their stuff.
Heejin walks beside her and loops her arm with the taller’s. They’re both a blushing mess by the time they get inside.
Chaewon was behind them with Hyejoo and takes note on how Hyunjin let’s Heejin touch her. She doesn’t like a lot of skinship with others.
The girls’ stare in awe once they’re inside and look around the lobby. The coaches were already there and they spot the girls.
They chuckled at their expressions and motion for them to follow them.
“I see that you girls are shocked to see how an indoor baseball facility looks. Come let us show you around” Lee told them as they walked around the lobby towards the baseball field.
There were people coming and going in the wide hallway that leads to the field. The girls couldn’t keep their jaws close as they passed by the big gym that surrounds the front of the field.
There were different machines being used by athletes the girls had never knew existed. Shouting was heard as they approached the side of the field and they couldn’t help but let out a gasp as their eyes meet the field.
The baseball field looked exactly like the one they use but a little longer in the outfield.
There was a team using it right now so they stood off to the side as to not distract them. Hyunjin having already been here before is laughing at their shocked expressions.
“Its cool huh? This is used by a lot of teams from the little leagues to the big leagues. We’ll be able to use this later after they finish so for now, lets go use the batting cages and you girls will be in the bullpen” Choi spoke and pointed towards Heejin and Jiwoo who nodded.
They continued walking around the field towards the stairs that lead to the second floor. Yeojin and Jiwoo were taking pictures of the facility as the walked.
Jung turns his head to look at the group “Oh there are lockers and showers located in the restrooms. If you want to get a locker, just go up to the front desk and they’ll give you a key”
The girls nodded and thought about using the showers here so they don’t have to at home.
Walking up the stairs, the sound of bats hitting baseballs were heard and the girls turned to look at players in the batting cages.
And from across the room, pitchers were seen scattered in the bullpens. Of course the girls were in awe seeing how many cages and bullpens can fit on one side of the floor.
“This is where we’ll be working today since there’s a storm. So Heejin, Jiwoo follow Son to the bullpen and the rest stay with us. Also there’s a cafeteria on the other side of the floor if you girls want snacks” Lee finishes and they scatter around.
Hunjoon just arrived due to the weather and greeted them before they dispersed.

Heejin and Jiwoo followed Son towards an empty bullpen and get their equipment ready to use. Son grabs his glove and walks to the other side to be the makeshift catcher.
“Alright Jiwoo, pitch to me a slider, fastball and sinker but not down and in okay?” Jiwoo nods and prepares herself on the mound. Heejin moves over the side to watch and to not get hit.
Jiwoo grips the ball to throw a slider and gives Son a nod.
She winds up and lifts her leg as she throws the ball with force giving a small grunt. The ball does land perfectly in Son’s glove just above his chin.
He stands up from crouching and tosses back the ball “Nice rotation keep it up” She nods and gets ready to pitch a fastball down the middle.
Gripping the ball a different way, she gives a bigger grunt as she throws this pitch with more force.
The sound of the ball making contact with the glove rings through the air.
Heejin flinches at the loud sound and looks at Son who widen his eyes. She chuckles “Nice one Jiwoo unnie”
Jiwoo smiles at her “Thanks Heekie” She then looks at Son expectantly.
“That was a great pitch. Good grip on the ball” He smiles at her and motions for the next pitch. She nods and grips the ball differently again as she winds up the pitch.
Another strong throw as the ball gives a little curve towards the end and Son drops his arm a little to catch the pitch.
He stands up and walks up to Jiwoo “That pitch was a little low but great. Just make sure to not curve your throw okay?” She nods and stands off to the side as Heejin walks up.
She stands on the mound and Son tells her what to pitch “Now Heejin, pitch me a sinker, splitter and a curve normally?” Nodding, the sophmore gets ready and winds up her pitch.
Her leg doesn’t lift up as she pitches and she watches the ball lower itself to the middle of the zone. He gloves it as a strike “Great grip on the ball Heejin”
Jiwoo claps and cheers for her friend pitching “Good job Heekie!” She smiles at and grips the ball to pitch a splitter.
Giving a small grunt as she bends her arm in a weird way to throw and she watches ball move from the side to the low corner.
She swings her arm to loosen up her muscles a little more as it kinda hurt when she the threw a splitter.
“Nice but be careful when throwing a splitter. Don’t bend your arm all the way okay because then you’ll break your elbow” Son gives her a firm look as he tosses her the ball. Heejin nods and sets up once again for one more pitch.
For this pitch, she lifts her leg up and makes her arm go further out to the right so the ball can curve.
She looks where the pitch lands and its caught in the top left corner by Son. Jiwoo applauds her after pitching as she’s proud of friend “Nice one Heekie! That curve was great!”
“Thanks unnie I tried my best” She answers with her deep voice and smiles at the junior. Son walks up to her and gives her a hi five.
“Great job Heejin, that was a great curve and remember to be careful with your arm” She nods and he takes off his glove to put it on the ground “I’ll be right back, I’m going to get Hyunjin so you both can practice your pitching with her”
They nod and start chatting about their respective crushes before Hyunjin comes.
Son walks away from the bullpen to go get Hyunjin from the batting cages across the floor.

The other girls enter the cages in pairs to make it easier for them.
Jung helps them set up as Lee, Hunjoon and Choi set up the pitching machine.
The girls set their bags down on the floor and pull out their bats, gloves, helmets and guards.
The coaches finish setting up the machine and make their way to them to explain how it works.
“Okay this machine pitches for you when pitchers aren’t available. We’ll use this for now before we scrimmage and don’t worry, you’ll be able hit well”
Lee finishes explaining and the girls nod and move to their cage.
Chaewon with Hyunjin, Jinsoul with Yeojin, Sooyoung with Yerim, Vivi with Jungeun, and Haseul with Hyejoo.
They put on their gear and do a few practice swings. The first girls step up to the plate to hit. The others stood off to the side to not get hit.
Jung turns on the machines and they wait for their pitch.
The machines make a noise and a ball shoots out from it. Sounds of bats hitting the balls rings through the cages as they swing.
They managed to each hit a pitch and the coaches gave them some pointers.
“Nice one Chaewon”
“Great swing Vivi”
“Good job Haseul”
“Love the swing there Sooyoung and Hyunjin”
They gave them smiles and a few ‘thanks’ before setting up again.
A few more pitches were hit and they switched. The others came up to bat as the coaches added some more balls to the machine.
Hunjoon noticed that Jungeun looked a little nervous to hit pitches much more faster.
He walk up to her and she turns to look at him “Its alright if you’re nervous since y’all haven’t had the chance to hit harder pitches. But don’t focus on the speed of the ball, just focus on swinging your bat and hitting your pitch”
Jungeun listens at his advice and gives him a nod. He pats her shoulder and moves away for her hit.
She steps up to the plate and gets into her stance. Relaxing her shoulders, the machine throws a pitch and she gives a hard swing.
The ball hits the netting of the cage on top and Hunjoon smiles at her “Great swing there Jungeun. See, just focus on your swing okay?”
The blonde nods “Thank you and I will” She prepares again for the next pitch.
Jinsoul watches her as she’s hitting and can’t help but think how hot she looks just by swinging a bat.
She feels herself blushing and tries to look elsewhere but fails entirely. Looking around, she notices Sooyoung smirking at her.
Sooyoung gives her a teasing smile as Jinsoul glares at her and goes back to watching Jungeun.
Once they’re done, the guys give them a five minute break before they do the same thing again.

They quickly head to the cafeteria to grab some snacks but before Hyunjin can walk off, Son calls her name.
“Hey Hyunjin can you catch for Heejin and Jiwoo so they can get comfortable with you when we scrimmage?”
Hyunjin nods at him and goes to her bag to grab her catching gear. She pulls out her chest protecter, leg guards and mask.
Putting on her gear, she makes her way to the bullpen with Son. She greets the girls before going to her position behind the plate.
“Hyunjin is going to give you signs on which pitches to throw and where. You girls already memorized them so it won’t be difficult”
They nod and Jiwoo steps up to pitch first since she’s the starting pitcher. Hyunjin crouches down and waits for Jiwoo to settle in.
Once she does, the sophomore puts her right hand in between her legs to signs three fingers and points her pinky down.
A splitter down and in.
Jiwoo nods and looks at the ball in her glove to grip it correctly.
She winds up as Hyunjin jumps to the spot where she’s going to catch the pitch. The junior releases her pitch with a small grunt and watches the taller catch the ball exactly where its meant to land.
The bottom left corner of the strike zone.
Hyunjin frames it and gives a nod to Jiwoo saying ‘good job’. Son watches them and smiles a little.
The redhead smiles brightly at her and waits for her to sign again. Giving her a nod, she winds up her pitch and makes arm lower to throw correctly.
The ball gives a small curve as it lands in Hyunjin’s glove right in the middle.
“Wow nice curve on that one Jiwoo unnie” Hyunjin smiles at her and tosses the ball back.
Heejin can’t help but watch Hyunjin as she catches for Jiwoo. She looks so cool and hot at the same time that the bunny starts to blush.
Looking down, she calms her gay self and continues to watch them work.
After Jiwoo finishes pitching, Heejin steps up to the mound. She gives Hyunjin a smile as the sophomore lifts her mask up to smile at her.
Putting on her mask, she signs to Heejin a slider on the top right corner. Or two fingers with her thumb up.
Nodding, Heejin grips the ball correctly and winds up her pitch. She lifts her leg up a little before releasing her pitch.
Grunting a little, she looks at the ball slide to its right and land in Hyunjin’s glove.
“Oooh I like the rotation on that one Heejin. Nice one” Son compliments her as Hyunjin does too.
She blushes a little when the taller complimented her but she quickly shakes it off and watches her sign.
Her confidence went up after seeing Hyunjin catch for Jiwoo because of how patient she is to them.
Once again, she signs a fastball down the middle and waits for her to wind up.
Heejin gives a good throw as she watches the ball spin fast and hits the center of the zone. Hyunjin gloves it casually and winks at the shorter for another great pitch.
Of course she starts to blush at her wink and looks away.
The taller sophomore noticed how Heejin kept on staring at her when Jiwoo was pitching. She liked seeing her blush and malfunction when they were together.
Jiwoo saw the whole interaction and smiles at how cute they would be as a couple.
Son watches Heejin pitch really well and how her confidence has boosted. He can’t help but smile thinking about how they’re gonna win this game.
They kept going back and forth until Lee notified them that the field was available.
Hunjoon told them to grab their things and go downstairs to the field. They grab everything and make their way downstairs excited to scrimmage for the first time.
