Eunchae
Climbing up the stairs I shortly turned around and quickly waved goodbye to my driver. Turning back around again I smiled at Chaewon who already stood at the entrance, waiting for my arrival.
It was our first day at Köcher High, a school in Bangkok, Thailand, where I recently moved to, Chaewon already living here for two years. I often came to visit her during the holidays but it wasn’t the same as before, so I convinced my parents and brothers to shift here too, stating that they could extend their popularity like that. Gladly, they approved and now I was here with my best friend, having our first day at our new school. We both agreed to go to the same private school, deciding to take this one as it looked better than Chaewon’s old one.
I was happy to finally go to school. Being home schooled my whole life until now due to my heart conditions and my parents not wanting the media to find out about me, wasn’t very pleasing and ended in me only having one friend, Chaewon. We met when we were kids as both of our parents were business partners and often let us play with each other during their meetings. As we grew older, I started having problems with my heart. My condition got worse from time to time but Chaewon and my family were always there to support me.
Still having regularly check ups but knowing how to deal with my sickness, I along with Chaewon convinced my family to let us go to school together. It was pretty hard to try and make my brothers agree as they were a little overprotective due to my condition, but I just stated that nobody would recognize me anyway and made my famous puppy eyes and they couldn’t resist.
Even though there were already rumors about the Lee family having a daughter besides of their two sons, nobody knew her face or age. Not even my name was known to the public and I was thankful for that. I was still young and didn’t want to be a public figure like my brothers yet.
Chaewon on the other side was well known as the heiress of the Kim family, her parents being CEO’s of a famous makeup brand called Kimo. She was always recognized by people or paparazzi when we were going out, but she liked it. She sometimes acted as a model for her parent’s brand too, being the perfect girl for the job as she was ethereally beautiful even without makeup.
“Where is everybody?”, Chaewon linked her arm with mine but stopped, seeing the whole hallway empty. Not a single soul, except for us two, was present.
“I don’t know. Let’s just grab our schedules. Maybe we’re late”, I started walking towards the headmasters office, still having my arm linked with Chaewon.
“Yeah maybe, but classes are supposed to start at 8”, she stated but still followed me.
Grabbing our schedules, we asked the headmaster where everyone was. We were told that they headed towards a place called Köcher Stadium. Supposing that it was something like a sports place, we made our way towards it, trying our best to not make our shoes dirty as mud was tracing the whole path. I sighed in relief when my feet finally met clean concrete again, my white Chanel Mary Janes luckily still having their original color.
Chaewon glanced at me, hearing cheering sounds coming from the old stadium, which was already overgrown with some plants. A frown was traced on my face when we entered regardless and saw a ton of students standing in the rows and staring at four boys, who all hadn’t worn their uniform like Chaewon and me. They were probably very influential to not having to wear those old looking clothes. Chaewon and I also immediately got my brothers to handle the dresscode with the headmaster, both of us not very keen on wearing those ugly uniforms especially as my brothers owned their own fashion brand.
I flinched as one of the boys who wore an animal print coat punched some student leading to him falling on the ground. A round of laughter could be heard as the poor boy shouted some stuff while being soaked with water, as the whole ground was filled with the clear liquid. Chaewon closed my eyes and quickly dragged me away when some other boys continued to throw punches at the boy.
“What happened there Unnie?”, I slowly asked when we got out of the stadium, making our way back to the school.
“Nothing important. Let’s focuse on our first class”, Chaewon softly smiled at me but the shock was still visible on her face. Both of us were not excepting to be greeted with that sight on our first day.

A smile was plastered on my face seeing the snacks Chaewon took out of her bag. The cafeteria food wasn’t the best to be honest and I didn’t want to pass my lunch without eating anything.
“I love you Unnie”, I smiled while grabbing a cookie and stuffing it into my mouth. Chaewon just giggled and pushed a peach packet drink over to my side knowing that I loved that too.
My smile lit up as I quickly took it and started drinking it.
“Did I already tell you that I love you?”, I looked up to her with a stuffed mouth while she giggled seeing my childish behavior.
“Yup, you did”, she laughed while I continued to eat the cookies.
We left the cafeteria after a few minutes of chatting and eating the snacks due to the bell ringing, indicating that lessons started again. I hissed when somebody bumped into my shoulder leading to me dropping my favorite packet drink. I pouted seeing my favorite drink spilled all over the floor but was pulled out of my thoughts when a loud voice could be heard.
