“why don’t you want to have friends, woo?” san caresses wooyoungs head which is laying on his lap. they both sat on the grass. san’s back is leaning against a big tree that has it’s leaves falling down on the ground. surrounded by a lot of other trees, they were in the forest of course. there’s a big place with grass and flowers all over it. sadly the flowers are slowly dying but that didn’t matter since the different pretty brown tones of the trees made the scenery better.

“long story.” wooyoung only answered, playing with san’s fingers which are interlocked with his.

“tell me about it. we have all the time in the world.”

wooyoung lets out a long sigh. he really doesn’t want anyone to know.

before any word could’ve been said he heard san started to speak again.

“it’s okay. you don’t need to tell me if you don’t want to. it won’t change the way i look at you.”

“goddamn why is he so caring?”

“i once had this one friend. the first time I saw him was when he was just randomly sitting on the grass, picking the petals off the flowers. he looked alone so I decided to talk to him. we were both around six that time. we saw each other everyday and there was no way I wanted to separate myself from him. back then my parents owned an orphanage and that’s where he was. I don’t remember his name, i wish i could. he often used to come to my house and we would hang out together. he was the best friend i’ve ever had.”

“ok the last part hurt.” san said acting hurt which made wooyoung laugh and pinch san’s cheek. “everything going good what happened next?”

“this went on for years til we both were like fourteen. and uhm how do i say this?”

san raised his eyebrow in curiosity.

“that was around the time i realized I was into guys and i fell for him. I know its wrong to fall for your best friend and even worse was he my only friend. after some weeks i knew i liked him he just was gone. when i asked my parents where he went and they told me a family finally adopted him. but he didn’t even say goodbye. i was hurt and i thought everyone would do this to me. i was scared of getting attached to someone like him and end up all alone again.”

san sat there listening to every word wooyoung said. he could tell that what happened back then had a big impact on him to this day. he felt bad for what happened to him back then but san felt so familiar with everything wooyoung just told him, it was oddly weird.

“this is why i had a difficult time realizing my feelings towards you and why i was hesitant. but i don’t know. at the bus station i just felt such a strong desire to talk to you.” wooyoung finally looked at san who is clearly thinking about something. but when san realized the younger was looking at him he immediately shook his thoughts off and looked back at wooyoung. san smiled and caressed the others head, giving him a kiss on his forehead.

“as you said, it was written in the stars.” san said which made wooyoung melt in his touch.

“don’t you think it was selfish of me?” wooyoung asked. “i mean he finally got adopted and he finally got the family he was wishing for and all i cared about was how i was hurt because he didn’t say goodbye. it’s kinda stupid.”

“i think you have every right to be sad, i mean you guys did spent a lot of times together.” san answered but inside him he somehow felt unsure about his answer. actually it was more this whole story just made san feel a little uneasy. it was hard for himself to even tell how he felt.

wooyoung did feel a little relieved by san’s answer but he could also see that san was bothered by something.

“what about you? why didn’t you want to have friends?” wooyoung asked him back, he was curious as well.

san was thinking about it too. he knows why he didn’t want to have friends anymore but why couldn’t he say it right now? there was so much going on in his mind right now, he couldn’t even build a sentence.

“uhm i also had that one friend back then. also around six years old but we kinda drifted away from each other over time.”

“that’s not even happened, san. just tell the whole story.” he mentally slapped himself.

wooyoung could tell san had a hard time talking about it so he just decided to drop it. the younger sat up and looked at san.

“what do you think about going somewhere else?” he asked to distract san from whatever was going in his mind.

“where?”

“it’s a surprise.” wooyoung smiled and pulls san by his hand out of the forest.

they rode the bus for quite a while. san had no idea they were going but looking out the window he can clearly tell they were far from civilization.

“woo, are you sure we are going the right way?”

wooyoung only held san’s hand and nodded his head.

“you’re going to like it for sure.”

the sun was already setting and they just kept driving into an unknown place.

“last stop. we kindly ask everyone to leave the bus.”

san immediately shot his head to wooyoung almost panicking.

“where the hell did you bring me to. aren’t last stops always at the very end of the world.”

“omg sannie chill.” wooyoung took his hand and let both of them out the bus. san for sure still felt very unsure about they were but soon was surprised about where wooyoung had brought him to.

there was a big ferris wheel and a lot of other rides but something was off. it was completely abandoned. there was no should there only the last remains of the carnival that has probably closed down a few years ago. san recognized this place. he has been here before.

“i bet there are ghosts here.” san said looking in front of him.

“follow me.” they both got closer to the ferris wheel and wooyoung was about to climb up the ladder that let them up the big ferris wheel.

“are you going to commit suicide or what? you’re not going up there.” san pulled the younger back.

“oh come on. you’re only scared.”

“fuck yes i am. i don’t wanna die today.”

“I’ve been here multiple times. come on.” with that wooyoung recklessly climbed up the ladder.

“fuck this.”

they climbed up a good minute but they were soon at the very top of it. getting into one of the capsules san was amazed by the amazing view they had. the sun was almost done setting but the colors in the sky just started to grow more beautiful. before he could even just turn around to wooyoung, the younger had already his arms around san.

“see? it’s not bad.” san was still speechless. not only did he just fight his huge fear of heights but also the fact that he was here seeing this view and especially with wooyoung.

“i discovered this place when my friend just left. this place is really close to the orphanage and also my old house we used to live in.”

“there is no way.”

“woo?”

“yea?”

“do you have a scar on your left upper arm?”

wooyoung looked at him curiously. “how did you know?”

“oh I just saw one day. I wanted to ask about it.” san came up with a lie. he never actually saw that scar.

wooyoung started to laugh. remembering how he got it.

“it was when I was around nine. at the orphanage another kid had accidentally cut my arm with a knife. it sounds creepy when i say that because which kid cuts someone with a knife. but he was running around at lunch with that knife and I just somehow got in his way and that how it happened.” he said with a smile on his face, remembering how dumb he was as child.

“you should’ve been more careful.” san replied laughing as well.

“it’s fine tho. my friend took great care of me back then.”

“of course he did.”

“it’s him.”
