inhaling the crips air that blows thru the whole city, wooyoung feels the stress fade away. finally he can lean back and start exploring his new hometown. after what felt like a year of a whole mess in his life, wooyoung finally got his shit together.

after working hard, finishing high school, meeting his parents, he fulfilled his own wish of going to his dream academy in his dream city. leaving everything else behind wooyoung was ready to start a new chapter. nevertheless saying goodbye to the closest people was nothing more but painful. remembering how yeosang cried his eyes out not wanting to let go of wooyoung who was already late for his flight.

“please text me when you land.” yeosang held onto wooyoungs waist while his rested on his shoulder. meanwhile seonghwa was trying to release the clingy boy from the other, wooyoung made sure he had everything he needed.

“when are you even coming back?” the younger smiled, happy he met people that genuinely care about him. his smile soon faded because truth was, he didn’t know when he’ll be back either. it can be months, years or maybe he won’t return at all.

“i’ll call you every day yeo, i swear.” he patted the older but shorter boy’s blonde hair.

“but in movies it happens every time that someone moves away and they fall apart and never talk again.” he answered talking way too fast that both boys needed to make sure that he breathed.

“yeo, chill you act like u are in a relationship and you definitely play the wife.”

“relationship? oh yeah, san.” wooyoung never saw him again after their last encounter. after multiple nights of crying while yeosang was ranting about what an asshole san is, he finally came to a point of rather than crying and being sad to smiling and being happy he had met san. the person he was in love with, his first relationship, the first person he kissed, the first in everything.

he misses san. he wishes he could at least see him and admire his beauty from afar. he wishes they’ll meet again and fall in love the right way. at the same time he was glad they broke up. being young, meeting the world all he wants to do is meet new people. being caged all his life, now he felt like taking risks, meet people, meet the wrong people, falling in love, getting heartbroken all those things he was ready to do it all. san was a lesson, a good one. it is the time in life to fail and learn.

“are you sure you’re going to be okay? there’s nobody you know in paris. how are you going to survive?” yeosang asked being extremely concerned about the boy he’d have taken care of for the past 2 years.

“wooyoung is going to be fine, and now leave or else you’ll miss your flight.” seonghwa turned wooyoungs body towards the entrance. he was about to take a step forward but he couldn’t leave without saying goodbye to his best friends. he turns around again pulling both boys into a tight group hug, squishing their heads on each side of his neck.

“i love you guys. take care.” he said, preventing the threatening tear roll down his face.

walking away, he turns around one last time seeing them still standing on the other side, waving him goodbye. only few meters behind where they stood, wooyoung noticed a person just standing with their hands resting in their jacket pocket. at first he didn’t care that much since there are multiple of people at the airport but taking a greater look he noticed the dark hair fall down the persons face, lightly covering the eyes and the dimple that appeared when he smiled as soon as wooyoungs eyes met his.

wooyoung hadn’t seen those stars in a very long time.

wooyoung fell onto the new couch he bought for his small apartment, smelling the scent of new furniture he didn’t like it.

“it’ll smell like home soon.”

the academy provides dorms but being in a different country on a different continent, the first thing he wanted to learn was independence. with the help of his parents he bought a small apartment in the heart of paris, he was even able to see the eiffel tower which lit up at night. tho he said he wanted to learn how to be alone, he still wished he’d had someone that could accompany him watching the glowing eiffel Tower from his apartment.

thinking about how he will survive in france by himself the first issue came up. he stands up, walking towards his kitchen and opens the fridge to see it being completely empty. what else did he expect.

“ugh.” he groans. after building all his furniture he was exhausted and now he needs to somehow come up with food. already annoyed he puts on his shoes and a hoodie since he thought the night wasn’t that cold but walking for a few minutes he noticed it was freezing. he didn’t even know where he was walking, he was just hoping to find a supermarket or a restaurant. sitting down after another few stressful minutes of him trying to communicate with a local french speaking person, wooyoung pulled out his phone to call yeosang who probably spent all his time missing him.

“hello?”

“OMG WOOYOUNG I MISS YOU PLEASE COME BACK SEONGHWA IS RUDE TO ME.” wooyoung pulled his phone away from his ear due yeosangs screaming.

“omg yeo i-“ wooyoung tried to calm down the boy on the other end.

“NO COME BACK.”

“let me talk to seonghwa.”

“YOU DONT EVEN WANNA TALK TO ME?”

wooyoung took a deep breath before continuing to deal with his best friend.

“wooyoung?”

“omg thank you.” the returning laugh on the other end made him feel better. not like yeosang wasn’t able to comfort him, but yelling at him definitely wasn’t going to make him feel good.

“you just called this morning, what’s up?” seongwha asked while he was probably comforting yeosang in his arms.

“I just wanted to ask a question that I forgot this morning.” he felt unsure, almost nervous to ask.

with seonghwa responding with a hum, wooyoung kept quiet for a few seconds.

“what is it?” he asked for a second time.

“uhm did you maybe see san or someone that looked like him at the airport when i left?” he asked wondering how the other boy would react.

“wooyoung i thought-”

“no. i mean yes i still mean what i said that i would stop hoping but i think i saw him and i don’t know maybe you saw?”

hearing a sigh, wooyoung didn’t know what answer he wanted to hear.

“no i didn’t. and if I did why would it matter?”

“I don’t know i thought i saw him and if he was really there why would he be there?”

“maybe it was just in your head.”

“but i saw him.”

walking thru the city, looking at all the lights he was fascinated at how there are that beautiful places in the world. seoul is a very different. it seemed like everyone here was happy. everywhere he looked was like a painting. the old buildings that gave off a very artistic vibe, wooyoung felt like he finally found the right city to stay for a while. hugging himself due to the cold, he leaned against a railing. in front of him the river which had the city lights reflect on it with the glowing eiffel tower and the stars in the sky.

he can’t but think about this one person. he got most things he wished for. a simple life, surrounded by a peaceful atmosphere. maybe not on the outskirts of the city like he wished and also not a small house in a nice neighborhood. only the two of them they said. all alone with him, that’s what he wanted. but now he was all alone, by himself.

“do you remember when we said we would move to paris together?”
