Ship:
{ObaMitsu (and a little GenMui)}
“Oh! Oh! It’s Valentine’s day tomorrow! I should get gifts for everyone..! Oh..I’m so late!” Mitsuri cried out, pacing about.
She went to retrieve her money and started off towards the market center.
‘Hm… For Iguro, I’ll give him maybe…a snake plushie! I’m sure he’ll like it. For Shinobu-San…another butterfly pin? No.. Maybe a…oh! Flowers! Maybe she can add more into her garden! Tomioka-San is quiet…maybe he needs earmuffs. To keep his ears warm and so he can have quiet! Since he’s probably quiet because he wants quiet!’ Mitsuri thought, scampering around.
She bought the plushie and flowers and headed off to the clothes section, scouring the rows for the earmuffs.
After about a minute, she spotted a beautiful water-patterned pair and bought it, delighted on how perfect it was. Water for Tomioka because he’s the water Hashira! She was lucky to have gotten there at the time, apparently it was the last one.
“Alright! Now I have Shinazugawa-San, Rengoku-San, Himejima-San, Tokito-kun, Uzui-San, and… Oyakata-Sama! Oh! I should also get one for the Kamado siblings, their friends, Shinobu-San’s tsugoku…” Mitsuri trailed off as she spotted a pretty red candle sitting at the front of a shop. “Ooh! Maybe I can give that to Rengoku-San! Candles equal flames, right? And it’s so pretty! I’m sure he’ll love it,” she squealed.
Immediately buying it, she placed it in her bag and continued searching the place for presents.
“Hm… What does Shinazugawa-San like? Oh! I should get one for his brother!” Mitsuri said. She didn’t know what they liked! She needed to hurry up, she couldn’t stay for long. Her missions wouldn’t just disappear because it was Valentine’s day. Although she wished they would.
“Oh the necklace is beautiful! I’ll get that for Uzui-San, it’s very shiny, too! Ooh and it sparkles in the sun,” Mitsuri breathed. “Hey! I’m going to buy this too!” She motioned to the necklace and payed for it.
“It was sooo expensive,” she whined. “But it’s for Valentine’s day! The price doesn’t matter! …As long as I still have enough money for the rest of the presents-“
Walking to another stand, Mitsuri spotted a packet or intricately designed origami paper.
‘Maybe Tokito-kun would want this! I’m sure he could be interested in origami, maybe,’ Mitsuri thought.
She payed for the paper, buying an instruction book just in case, and searched for something else to buy.
“So…Shinazugawa-San and his brother, Himejima-San, the Kamado siblings, their friends, Oyakata-sama, and Shinobu-San’s Tsugoku!” Mitsuri said, listing off the names. “Okay, for Nezuko I’ll get her…a kimono!”
She turned and went back to the clothes section. “Excuse me, where is the section with kimono’s?” she said, tapping the back of one of the people there.
The person turned around and to her surprised, it was Genya! “Oh! Hello! You’re Shinazugawa-san’s little brother, aren’t you?” Mitsuri asked sweetly.
He nodded, embarrassed, and said, “Yeah. Sanemi’s my big brother…”
“Mhm! What are you doing here? I’m looking for Valentine presents!” Mitsuri explained.
“I’m buying something for Mui- Uhm…My brother and uh somebody else,” Genya said, turning quickly.
“Ohh okey!” Mitsuri hummed. “So, do you know where the kimonos are?”
“Over there,” Genya said, pointing to a row a couple feet away.
Mitsuri thanked him and headed to the section. “Hm… Maybe another pink one! Oh but there’s so many pretty ones…” She ran a hand over the kimonos looking for the one she would buy.
Eventually, she settled on a rose pink on with white flower patterns littered over the bottom and the ends of the sleeves. “Mhm! I’ll buy this one!” she decided.
She looked around, wondering what else she might buy from here. “I’ll get Tsuyuri a butterfly pin like Shinobu-San’s! Then she can have one of each!” she said, smiling.
Looking through the hair pins, she searched for butterfly ones. “It has to look just like it…” The sound of the pins mixing together brings Genya to look over.
“What’re you looking for?” he asked.
“A hair pin that looks like Shinobu-san’s…” Mitsuri said, concentrating on finding one.
“Like this?” Genya asked, holding up a purple and blue butterfly pin.
Mitsuri looked over and grinned widely. “Yes! Thank you! Can I have it…?”
Genya nodded and handed it to her. Mitsuri took it gratefully. She turned and went to pay for it, but suddenly turned. “Hey, uhm…do you know what Shinazu-…Sanemi-San likes? That I could buy for him?” Mitsuri asked.
“Ohagi. He really liked ohagi.”
“Oh! Okay, thanks!” Mitsuri smiled.
“Mhm.”
Mitsuri walked away, humming to herself. She would get ohagi for Shinazugawa-San, maybe a boar plushie for Inosuke, something related to thunder(?) for Agatsuma, another rosary necklace for Himejima, for Oyakata-sama, perhaps flowers, too, and maybe some food for Tanjiro! Mitsuri didn’t know what Tanjiro liked, he was very selfless so it was hard to know.
He loved Nezuko—she was his sister, after all—so maybe she could make a Nezuko plushie for him! Yes, she would do that.
Walking to a grocery store, Mitsuri listed off all the food she would get. For Shinazugawa-San, she would get Ohagi, for Tanjiro…perhaps some onigiri? She didn’t know. She would get some chocolate hearts for everyone, of course. Oh! What about Genya, though…?
She turned abruptly and ran back to the market center, searching for him. She spotted hims standing next to a keychain stand. “G-Genya! I- C-Can I-” Mitsuri said, catching her breath. “What would  you like for Valentine’s Day?”
“Hm?” Genya asked, confused.
“What would you want for Valentine’s Day?”
“Oh- You don’t have to get anything for me,” Genya said nervously.
“But I want to!” Mitsuri protested.
Genya rubbed the back of his head. “Oh… Uh, I guess… Can you just get ‘Nemi to talk to me, maybe?” he asked quietly.
Mitsuri nodded enthusiastically. “Mhm! Mhm!” She smiled and ran back to the grocery story, leaving Genya confused.
After buying everything she needed, she went home and took everything out of her bag, placing them all carefully on the table. She lined them up and put one box of chocolate next to each of the presents, one of the chocolate boxes sitting isolated. That one was for Genya whose gift was one not given physically.
She took out some paper and made cards for everyone. Then, she placed them all onto the piles of the presents. “Alright! Now I’ve got to put them all in bags.”
She dug through a closet and found a big box full of many gift bags. “Perfect,” she said.
She took the box to the table and began placing the presents in the bags. The first one, blood-red and covered in blue swirls, contained Rengoku’s gifts. A box of chocolate, the candle, and a card.
The next bag was greener than fresh grass and a slight shimmer to it with Obanai’s snake plushie inside it. The box sat neatly under it and the card was tucked at the side.
Nezuko’s bag was a little bigger than the rest so it could fit the kimono in it. The bag was dark pink and hearts patterned in horizontal stripes along the front.
Mitsuri decided to make Tanjiro’s gift after she’s packaged all of the rest. Which she did, but didn’t finish for another two hours,
Zenitsu’s golden yellow bag sat next to Inosuke’s which had the head of a boar stuffed animal sticking out of it. Tomioka’s bag was ocean blue—like his eyes—and the earmuffs were crammed inside, the bag being a bit too small. But Mitsuri had wanted to use the bag because it fit Giyuu well, so she had to try and fit the earmuffs in, almost breaking them in the process.
The butterfly pin was placed carefully in Kanao’s lavender purple bag and the flowers for Shinobu were tied at the bottom with a red ribbon and sat in her purple bag, sweet as a daisy.
Himejima’s rosary necklace was in a dulled emerald green colored bag, right on top of the red box containing the chocolates.
Shinazugawa’s ohagi was in a small gray-blue box which was inside a soft gray and white bag. Oyakata-sama’s bag was a dark lavender with white swirls all around the sides.
Tokito’s was a beautiful dark navy blue color, a mist pattern all along the bag. The origami paper and instruction book was paired next to the card, the box of chocolate lying on it’s side so it could fit inside. Uzui’s bag was white with a light purplish tint and coated with glitter. The necklace was nestled next to the chocolate box and shone bright in the light.
And the last bag, Genya’s, was black and purple, with only the box of chocolates and the card inside.
When all of them were packed, Mitsuri started making the Nezuko doll, only after two hours realizing how late it had become.
Luckily it didn’t seem like she had any missions that night so she was able to finish it and quickly packed Tanjiro’s gift.

Time skip, the next day.
Mitsuri woke up with a start and realized it was morning. “Oh! The presents!” she said.
Quickly getting ready, she place each of the bags carefully in a box so she could carry them all at once without messing them up. Then, she headed to the wind hashira’s mansion.
When she got there, she knocked on the door and waited for Sanemi to open it. He was there in less than two second and asked what she wanted upon seeing her face.Â
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Shinazugawa-San!” Mitsuri exclaimed. She smiled brightly and fished out his bag. “Here!”
Sanemi took the bag, confused, and placed it inside. “Is that all you wanted?” he asked.
She started to nod but then remembered why she’d come there first and shook her head. “Also, it would make Genya’s day if you talked to him! So can you please, please, please, talk to him today?” she begged.
Sanemi rolled his eyes, sighing. “Ugh- Fine!” he said, annoyed. It wouldn’t hurt to talk to him. Plus this way he could tell Genya to quit the demon slayer corps.
Mitsuri smiled thankfully and bowed. “Thank you, Shinazugawa-San! Have a good day, bye!!”
Next was Shinobu and Kanao.
“Hello!! Good morning!” Mitsuri said as Shinobu let her in.
Kanao entered the hallways and stood behind Shinobu. “Hi, Kanao!” Mitsuri said, greeting the younger girl.
Kanao nodded, and waved slightly to Mitsuri who smiled.
“What brings you here, Mitsuri-San?” Shinobu asked.
“It’s Valentine’s Day! So I bought some gifts for everyone!” Mitsuri explained.
“Huh?” Shinobu said. “Oh! I see, well, you didn’t have to! I’m sorry, I didn’t realize it was already February…”
Mitsuri smiled and shook her head. “No, it’s alright! We’re Hashira so it shouldn’t be something to be focusing on, it’s not your fault!”
Shinobu nodded uncertainly. “Okay… I guess I’ll get you a late present then.”
Mitsuri nodded enthusiasticly. “That’s alright, too! But you don’t have to! Anyways, so here’s your bag. And this one’s Kanao’s!” she said, handing the two their gifts.
Kanao, surprised, almost forgot to take the bag, but when she remembered she took it and bowed deeply. Shinobu smiled softly at her little sister. It was nice to see her happy. “Thank you, Mitsuri!” she called after the love Hashira as Mitsuri made her way out.
Mitsuri smiled and nodded, waving to Shinobu. “Mhm! Have a good day!”
She bumped into Muichiro on the way and was able to give it to him there. He seemed unfocused as always, but something about his clouded gaze looked slightly clearer. Mitsuri found out why when Genya went over to Muichiro and gave him a gift.
“Awww, you two are so cute together!” Mitsuri squealed.
Genya jumped, not having realized she was there. “O-oh! Hi!” he said nervously.
Mitsuri smiled. “I asked Shinazugawa-San to talk to you, and he said yes! So you can probably go find him later,” she told him.
Genya’s eyes shined with hope and he nodded happily. “Thank you so much!”
“You’re welcome! Oh, and here’s your bag- Uhhh, this one!” she said, handing him the purple and black gift bag.
He thanked her again as she left, telling them both to have a great day.
The next person she went to was Himejima. However, he was training so she put the bag to the side, hoping he wouldn’t accidentally crush it.
After Himejima was Uzui’s who was with Rengoku, which saved her time.
“Happy Valentine’s Day!” she exclaimed when she saw them. They both took their gifts gratefully, both feeling bad for not having got her one as well.
On her way to Iguro’s she found Tomioka talking to Tanjiro. “Oh, hello! Good morning! And happy Valentine’s Day!” she told them as she made her way over.
Tanjiro smiled at her and said the same back.Â
“I bought presents for you guys!” Mitsuri said, taking out Tanjiro’s, Tomioka’s, and Nezuko’s from the box.
Tanjiro opened Nezuko’s box and handed her her gift. As Nezuko opened her bag, Tomioka looked at his silently and confused.
“Oh, and do you know where Agatsuma and the boar head guy are?” Mitsuri asked, before she left.
Tanjiro nodded. “They’re just over there, Inosuke got stuck in a bush and Zenitsu was trying to get him out.”
“Okay!” Mitsuri walked in the direction Tanjiro had pointed to and found Zenitsu and Inosuke standing next to a rather beaten up looking plant.Â
“It’s Valentine’s Day so I bought you two some presents!” Mitsuri told them. She handed the two their gifts and left, wishing the two a good day.
Iguro was the last one Mitsuri went to. He greeted her at the door and let her in. “Good morning, Mitsuri!” he said with a smile.
“Hi, Igurooo!!” she said, squealing. “Happy Valentine’s Day!”
Iguro started to nod but stopped and said, “Wait, what?”
“Happy Valentine’s Day!” Mitsuri repeated.
Iguro blinked. “Oh.”
Mitsuri nodded and smiled. “I got you a gift!” she said, handing him his bag.
Iguro took it, feeling bad. “But…I didn’t get you one…!”
“Oh, that’s alright!” Mitsuri said, happily.
Iguro put the bag down and said, “No it’s not…!”
Mitsuri sighed. “It’s not an obligation, Iguro, don’t worry.”
Iguro shook his head. “I’m…going to give you one, I promise!”
Mitsuri nodded, not feeling like arguing. “Okay!”
She turned to leave but Obanai grabbed her arm. “Wait-! Uhm…” he started.
“Hm?” Mitsuri asked, cocking her head to the side.
“I…” Iguro said.
He looked at her and she turned so she was facing him. “What is it, Iguro?” she asked.
He sighed, deciding that he could do it. It was Valentine’s Day, after all. And it was now or never.
He tipped his head up slightly and stepped forward. “Tell me if you don’t want it,” he whispered.
Mitsuri nodded, confused.
He stepped closer so their bodies were one inch away from each other. His head tilted up slightly and he left a centimeter of space on between his and Mitsuri’s faces, giving her a chance to back away.
The second before Mitsuri closed the space in between their lips, Iguro pulled off his bandages.Â
Their mouths connected and their breaths seemed to fall in sync. It was perfect and both of the two lovers felt like they were floating away.
The kiss lasted about 20 seconds before Obanai pulled away, face redder than Muzan’s eyes. His heartbeat was fast and he breathed in and out, attempting to steady it. Only looking up when a soft hand was place on his arm.
“Obanai…” Mitsuri whispered. “I…I loved that…!”
Obanai felt like he was completed hearing Mitsuri say that. He’d fallen in love with her the day they’d met and to hear her say that. To have kissed her and been held by her, his heart was full of joy and his heartbeat’s pace—which he had just steadied—quickened and he felt a smile grow on his face.
But then he remembered. He’d forgotten to put the bandages on right away! He’d let Mitsuri see… She surely hated him now. Obanai looked down, the feeling quickly going away.Â
“Oh, Iguro…” Mitsuri said, lifting her hand to the snake Hashira’s chin. She lifted his head so he would catch her gaze. “What’s the scar on your face? Are you okay?” she said softly.
Her sweet and worried tone caught Obanai off guard and he blinked. Why was she worried for him? Why would a beautiful, sweet, loving girl like her care for an ugly, disgusting creature like him? (Stfu, Iguro)
“I…I’m sorry,” Obanai said.
“What? Don’t be sorry, Iguro! It’s not your fault you got hurt, are you okay, though?” Mitsuri said quietly.
Obanai nodded and said, “But why do you care? I’m real ugly and unfit to be your boy- I mean… I could never be a suitable person to even be in your life!” (Again, stfu)
Mitsuri shook her head wildly, her thick braids flowing around her like willow branches. “No, Obanai, no! You’re- You’re my favorite Hashira! (Although the rest are great as well). I- Don’t you dare say that again! Please! And, y’know what?” she said, placing her hands on Obanai’s shoulders. “Iguro Obanai, serpent Hashira, will you be my boyfriend? (You can say no, of course, but I want you to know that I love you so much).”
Obanai stood there in shock, processing what had just happened. “I… Yes…! But-” Before he could finish, Mitsuri pressed her lips against his for the second time that day.
This time, the kiss lasted a minute. And this time Obanai wasn’t scared when they broke apart and Mitsuri saw his scar. Because he knew she actually loved him, and he knew that the scar didn’t matter to her.
“I know it’s kind of early to say this, but…I love you, Mitsuri. I love how with all my (twisted) heart,” Obanai declared.
Mitsuri hugged him tightly and whispered the words back. “I love you too, Iguro.”
***
Mitsuri waved good bye as she left on her mission that night. “Bye, Iguro!!”
“Bye, Mitsuri! And come back whole, tomorrow! I’ve still got to give you your present,” Obanai called back.
“My present was the kiss,” Mitsuri said.
“I’m still getting you one!”
“No! You’ve done enough, you don’t have to do it!”
“But I want to!”
“No!”
“Yes!”
“No!”
“Yes!”
“No!”
“Do you think my present will be bad, then?” Obanai smirked, already knowing he’d won.
“Wha- Of course not! I just don’t want you to spend money on me!”
Obanai looked down in mock sadness. “Awh… okay… I guess you really don’t trust my shopping skills…”
“No! I just-…” Mitsuri sighed. “Ugh, fine! You can get something! But it can’t cost too much, okay?”
“Okay!” Obanai said, already knowing he’d be getting something expensive.
“Bye! I love you!” Mitsuri said as her crow urged her to go.
Obanai waved back. “I love you too!”
