All alone in a room, Giyuu sat. It was quiet, just how he liked it. Of course, it was never going to last. Because not even two minutes after he finally had silence, the door banged open and he sighed heavily. “Who is it?” he asked, getting up slowly.
There was a pattering of feet and then the two female Hashira rushed in, huge smiles plastered on their faces. “Happy pride month, Tomoka-San!!” Mitsuri and Shinobu both exclaimed. Both had large flags drapped over them like capes. Shinobu’s was coloured orange, white, and pink for the Lesbian flag (MINE AHHAHA-), and Mitsuri’s was yellow, pink, and blue for the Pan flag.
Giyuu was obviously startled by this and stepped back. “What?”
“Don’t tell me you don’t know what pride month is!! Considering you’re gay, I would’ve thought you knew.” Shinobu rolled her eyes and scoffed. Mitsuri placed a hand on her shoulder and her girlfriend backed down.
“Oh. I do know, I was surprised you wished me ‘happy’ pride month,” Giyuu deadpanned. He crossed his arms and looked at their expressions carefully. “I know you want something. What do you want from me?”
Mitsuri sighed. “Well we really meant the ‘happy’ of the happy pride month, Tomioka-San- But we also wanted to ask if you want to join us for a sleepover at the butterfly mansion. All of the other Hashira and some others are coming. Will you?” Shinobu bobbed her head in a nod along to Mitsuri’s words.
“I supposed I have no choi- Wait, want?” Giyuu asked skeptically. “I have a choice?”
“Of course you do!” Mitsuri said, confused.
“Oh.”
“So?”
“Okay..” Giyuu decided. There would be a lot of people and it would be crowded and noisy and he didn’t exactly want to go, but Mitsuri seemed to want him to go and she had given him an option to, so the least he could do was go. He would just sit in a corner and wait for the sleepover to end then go home.
Mitsuri’s smiled brightly and Shinobu seemed surprised at the fast response. “Yay!” Mitsuri squealed. “Can’t wait to see you there!! Make sure to bring comfortable clothes to sleep in, and anything else you might want.” She thought for a moment then nodded. “Also bring some snacks.” Smiling, she and Shinobu headed out, leaving Giyuu confused.
“Ookayyy..” he said, more to himself considering nobody else was even there, and he turned and went to go get what Mitsuri had required.
Time skip, 1 hour, 5pm (Lazy mf here hi)
Giyuu picked up his bag and headed to the butterfly mansion. He was a little bit late, around 15 minutes. He hoped that if he arrived late they would kick him out and he would have a reason not to go without being rude and ruining the sort of.. not friendship but.. something with the other Hashira. But of course, he wasn’t. Aoi let him in cheerfully and showed him to the room the others sat in. He saw the rest of the Hashira and the Kamaboko squad in there. Although Gyomei wasn’t there. He wondered why, but then stopped wondering when he noticed everyone was wearing their pajama’s already whilst he was still in his uniform. He flushed and excused himself, nearly forgetting to bring his bag with him.
When he got back, the others were animatedly talking. Not knowing where to sit, Giyuu lingered in the doorway until Tanjiro noticed him and motioned for him to sit next to the Kamaboko squad. Giyuu places his bag next to the other’s and walked over. He sat down and just listened as the others talked.
“I’ve never been to a sleepover before, is there food!!!???” Inosuke said, looking hopeful.
Tanjiro laughed softly. “I’m sure there is.”
“GOOD!” The boarheaded demon slayer pumped his fist in the air and ran out to go get some food before the others could stop him.
“He’s only thinking about food! Like, not even all of these girls around us??” Zenitsu said, looking around in wonder. His eyes latched onto Shinobu, Mitsuri, Aoi, Nezuko and Kanao. Tanjiro slapped his the back of the blond’s head the second he noticed his friend looking at his sister.
“Zenitsu! This is a sleepover for friends. Be respectful,” Tanjiro scolded.
Zenitsu looked guilty and cast his eyes down. “Sorry.”
Tanjiro smiled and nodded. “It’s alright!”
Giyuu was surprised at how easily the two interacted, dispite the moment of awkwardness. He could never do something like that.
Inosuke charged into the room, arms full of snacks and food. “RAHHHHHHHHH,” he shouted, running back to the Kamaboko squad. Kanao flinched at his loudness and Nezuko instinctivly cuddled closer to her friend, shrinking to the size of a child. Tanjiro awed at the interaction as Inosuke aggressively threw the snacks on the ground and started ripping the bags open.
“Be more careful, they’re all going to spill out-” Genya said. He’d been quiet the whole time, looking off to the Hashira. Although Giyuu didn’t know to who exactly. “And stop yelling so loudly.” Inosuke ignored the Shinazugawa and continued stuffing food into his mouth, much to Genya’s disgust. “Oh for fucks sake!” he huffed.
Tanjiro shot him a look that said, ‘My sister’s right here!’
Genya snapped his mouth shut and Inosuke laughed. Luckily for Tanjiro, Nezuko had been too busy learning how to braid hair like Mitsuri’s and hadn’t heard. (Kanao was an excellent teacher, although silent, and was able to keep her perfectly distracted).
Giyuu watched the interactions almost longingly, knowing he would never have any sort of relationship like that where he could talk so freely. At least not anymore. But as he listened to the group bicker and laugh and just be so carefree in general, he hoped that he was wrong. Maybe one day he would truly find some peace and would be able to socialize and have a normal, demon free—fear free—carefree life. But then he realized how unrealistic that was. He could only imagine a life like that, but it would never be reality. Never..
Before he could continue down that depressing road, he was pulled over to the group with the Hashira by an insistant Shinobu. He followed her there so she wouldn’t drag him the whole way and asked why she was bringing him over. Tanjiro tried bringing Giyuu back but Shinobu didn’t let him.
“No wonder you have no friends, all you do is spend time with children instead of people your own age,” Shinobu scolded.
“Why is that bad?” Giyuu blurted out, ignoring the first part.
Shinobu just rolled her eyes. “Hurry up, you’re walking too slowly.”
After the two got to the Hashira, she made him sit down next to Sanemi before she said, “Alright, let’s play a game. Any suggestions?”
“30 MINUTES IN HEAVEN!!” Tengen said.
“Isn’t it 7 minutes-?” Shinobu asked skeptically.
“Yeah but that’s hardly any time,” Tengen said matter of factly.
“Okay.. Anyone others?” Shinobu dismissed.
“Spin the bottle!” Mitsuri suggested.
“Truth or dare?” Obanai asked.
“Kiss, marry, kill,” Sanemi said.
“Go home?” Giyuu added.
The Hashira glared at Giyuu who shut up.
“Alright, let’s write them down.” Shinobu took out some paper from somewhere (don’t ask..) and a pen before writing down all the options. “Is that all?”
The others thought for a moment. “Skeletons in the closet?” Kyojuro asked.
Shinobu noted it down, taking the liberty to write her own on, then put them all in a hat (DON’T ASKKK) and shook it making sure they were well mixed. “I’ll take one out and we’ll play that first.”
“First?” Giyuu asked.
“Yes, why?”
“…we’re going to play all of them?”
“Of course-” Shinobu raised an eyebrow. “Got a problem?”
“No..”
“Good.” Shinobu took out a paper and read it, smiling. “Skeletons in the closet.”
Muichiro looked up. “What’s that? I forgot.”
Shinobu nodded. “We all share our deepest, darkest secrets.”
“Oh.. Okay..” Muichiro said absently, tugging on his hair.
“Who will go first?’ Shinobu asked.
Everyone looked at each other.
Shinobu quickly wrote down all their names and took a paper out of another hat which she had hastily thrown the paper strips in. “Hm.. Himejima.” She looked up then realized he wasn’t there. “Oh oops.”
While Sanemi was laughing his ass off, Shinobu stuck her hand back into the hat and pulled out a name. She smirked at the Wind Hashira and he realized it was him. Almost immediately, he stopped laughing and clamped his mouth shut.
Meanwhile, the Kamaboko squad had noticed the Hashira and were curious. Zenitsu went over to see what they were doing. He went back to his friends and informed them that the Hashira were playing some games. Tanjiro, being an innocent little bean, just figured games more child-friendly and suggested they could go over and play as well. Zenitsu thought he knew so he agreed and the Kamaboko squad got up and walked over to the Hashira.
“Excuse me? Would you mind if we tagged along with the games?” Tanjiro asked.
The Hashira looked at each other, wondering if they should let him in. Then they realized Muichiro was already there and he was younger than most of the Kamaboko squad, so they admitted them to play.
(This is me going back and realizing I never said the seating arrangements. So there’s Shinobu then Mitsuri to her left. Obanai to Mitsuri’s left, Sanemi to Obanai’s left, Giyuu to Sanemi’s left, Tanjiro and Nez to Giyuu’s left, then Zenitsu, Inosuke, Tengen, Kyojuro, Muichiro, Genya, and then Kanao who is on Shinobu’s right. I really hope that makes sense and that I will remember<3)
“What’re we doing first?” Genya asked, ignoring Sanemi who was glaring daggers at him.
“Skeletons in the closet. Shinazugawa’s going first,” Obanai said, nodding to the older Shinazugawa.
“Oh alright.” Genya sat as far from Sanemi as he could without having to look straight across to him.
Everyone turned to Sanemi who pretended to be thinking. And then in one long breath he said, “IkilledmymothertoprotectGenyawhowastheonlyonealiveofmyfamilyleftbutnowhehatesmeandIactuallydon’t.”
Everyone blinked. “What?”
Sanemi took a deep breath and said, “I killed my mother to protect Genya but it was all in vain because he hates me for it, and thinks I hate him even though I don’t.” Immediately, he turned away from everyone. It was silent while everyone processed this, even Inosuke seemed somewhat shocked. But then he said, “You’re so dumb!”
Everyone glared at him but he continued, “Your brother is too! Because he also doesn’t hate you! You two are the biggest idiots in the world! I can’t belive you’re a Hashira!”
Tanjiro tried frantically to silence his friend but it didn’t work. Although, Inosuke’s words seemed to help a lot because Sanemi and Genya were staring at Inosuke wide-eyed. Relief flooded their expressions as they realized both of them shared the mutual feelings of caring-but-thinking-the-other-hated-them-even-though-they’ve-been-wrong-this-whole-time. Tears pricked at Genya’s eyes and Tanjiro went to comfort him, thinking Inosuke’s words had affected him—in a bad way. But it was in a good way and the tears were happy ones, which became obvious as the younger Shinazugawa started to smile softly, laughing at his own stupidity. Tanjiro sat back down, relieved. The others moved a bit away to let the two brothers talk, to get over their past grudges.
Shinobu took out a paper and read the name on it. “Obanai.”
They all looked at the Serpent Hashira who just glanced back, unbothered. And then he realized why his name was called and a look of panic grew on his face. “Can I skip?” he asked nervously, which only made everyone grow more curious.
“Where’s the fun in that?” Tengen asked, poking the other Hashira on the shoulder.
Obanai sighed heavily and then started to take off the bandages over his mouth slowly. Everyone seemed to lean a little closer, wanting to know. Kyojuro knew vaguely, but it had been so long ago that his father had come back with a young boy. Young and tired and scared, Obanai had met Kyojuro as a child. The two had spoken a little, but not much, for Obanai had been so distant, too fearful of everyone and anyone. But it had been so long ago.. And they had been so young..
The anticipation was high in the room as everyone waited with bated breaths. And finally—finally, Obanai pulled off the bandage and everyone gasped. A thick and long slit forming from one end of this jaw to the other, almost like a smile, was a scar. A deep one if it had lasted so long, for there wasn’t a time anyone remembered Obanai not having covered up his face, not eating around anyone but his snake, and taking extra precautions to bring extras incase they fell or ripped during a mission.
Without anything to add, Obanai quickly wrapped the white fabric back around his jaw, too embarrassed to say anything. There was a moment of silence and then— “How did you get that?”
It was a question everyone had been thinking. But all had been too scared to ask it. So it was quite a surprise that Giyuu, out of everyone there, had asked. The least social, the least confident, and the last person anyone would expect to ask, had said what they had all wondered. Of course maybe that was why. Maybe because he didn’t socialize much, he didn’t realize how those words could affect one. But Obanai didn’t express any emotions. His face was stoic and he was looking off into the distance, only barely catching the Hashira’s words. And to be fair, they were quiet. But of course so was the room.
Obanai was silent and Giyuu was about to repeat his question but then he said, “My family. I was the only boy born into it and we lived with a demon. The demon was a snake and she favored me, I suppose because of my eyes. I cannot remember. This”—Obanai pointed to the bandages which hid a horrendous scar beneath—”was made by my family to lend her some blood of mine and to make me look more like her. I escaped eventually, but it cost my family their lives and I wouldn’t have been here if it wasn’t for Reng- Shinjuro saving me,” Obanai corrected, realizing he should be more specific given that one of the Rengoku’s were actually present.
Kyojuro nodded at the words, the story stirring some of his memories. The rest of the Hashira and the Kamaboko squad were all in shock people could be so cruel. Giyuu felt shame course through him. He’d been moping for almost a decade over his sister and friend’s death while Obanai’s family had treated him like a toy and never actually cared for him like Giyuu’s family and friends had. How childish of him. More of a reason he shouldn’t be a Hashira.
Mitsuri broke the silence, saying, “Oh.. I’m so sorry, Iguro-San..”
Obanai just shrugged and said, “Maybe we should play something else.”
There was a collective round of nodding and Shinobu reached for the hat to pick a different game. She pulled a paper out and read it out loud. “Truth or dare.”
Sanemi, who had joined back with Genya to the group long ago, said, “Fuck yes!”
Tanjiro shot him a dirty look, covering Nezuko’s ears. Sanemi ignored him and said, “Can I go first?”
Shinobu shrugged. “Don’t care.”
Sanemi smirks. “Kochou.”
Shinobu glared at him. “Nevermind, you’re not going first.”
“Okay fine!!” Sanemi rolls his eyes and turns to the others. “Hm, Tsuyuri.”
Kanao, surprised that she’d been called, took a second to answer. “Y..yes?”
“Truth or dare?”
Kanao flips her coin and says, “Dare.”
Sanemi smirks again and thinks for a minute. “I dare you to.. go to the cook girl here—Kanzaki—and ask her out.”
Kanao turns red and falters, nearly falling over. Shinobu let her lean on her shoulder and turned to Sanemi. “Shinazugawa! Why would you dare her that?”
“Oh please, she was going to do it anyways.” Sanemi scoffed and turned away from her.
“And why do you think that?”
“She was watching her like a hawk, of course I would notice!!”
Shinobu glanced down at her blushing sister and said, “Hm.. You have a point. Aoi!”
Aoi bustled over with a tray of food, thinking they wanted some. “Yes?”
“Kanao wants to ask you something.”
Aoi looked down at the flustered girl and said, “Oh?”
“Yes. She wants to talk to you. Here, you two go talk in the hall way.” Shinobu helped Kanao stand up and led her and Aoi to the hallway before shutting the door and smiling. “Alright, since she’s a bit.. occuipied, let’s try again.”
Sanemi grinned. “Let me go again.”
Shinobu sighed heavily and nodded. “Fine.”
“Kanroji. T or d?”
Mitsuri smiled. “Hm.. Truth!”
Sanemi rolled his eyes but then a devious smile grew on his face. “Which girl did you kiss?”
“What?!” Mitsuri was shocked by the question. “And what gives you the idea I kissed one-?”
Shinobu groaned and swore under her breath and hid behind Genya (Who now sat next to her because Kanao was talking to Aoi).
Sanemi smirked. “Oh I don’t know, maybe because yesterday I hear-“
Tanjiro quickly stopped him and motioned to the fact that the whole kamaboko squad (except Kanao) was there, and Muichiro. Sanemi rolled his eyes but stopped himself. Mitsuri got the hint though and flushed deeply. Luckily Nezuko had gotten bored of the game and was up, walking aimlessly around, not paying attention anymore.
Mitsuri stammered, blushing, and said in a near whisper, “S-Shinobu-San..”
Giyuu was very surprised. No, he was extremely shocked. But he didn’t show that or say anything to it, his face as blank as usual. Sanemi grinned and poked Tengen who reluctantly gave him a handful of coins, much to Shinobu’s annoyance. The Kamaboko squad didn’t know what to do with any of this, but they were saved from having to react as the door to the room opened and Aoi and Kanao stepped in, cheeks splattered (Please tell me that’s how you spell it) with red and looking everywhere but at the circle of people. Shinobu got up quickly, having a reason to get away from the others, and went to her sister’s side. She whispered some things to her quickly and Kanao nodded much to Shinobu’s delight. Shinobu told Aoi to go sit with them. Aoi sat in between Kanao and Genya now, and by the way she and Kanao kept glancing at each other, flushed, but smiling, it was obvious things had gone well with the dare.
“What’s happening?” Aoi asked.
Before Sanemi could respond, Shinobu quickly said, “We’re playing truth or dare and it’s Mitsuri’s turn.”
“Ah okay!”
Everyone turned to Mitsuri who thought for a moment then said, “Tomioka-San, truth or dare!”
(BRO THE WHEEL HATES ME- It kept landing on Mitsuri (around 3 times) and then Nezuko (twice) even tho she’s not even playing the game anymore >:(( anyways I gave up and asked my sister for a random char/hashira/kamaboko squad person. Okay enough- back to da story)
Giyuu was quiet for a second, wondering which he should choose. He figured truth couldn’t hurt. “Truth.”
Mitsuri squealed. “Is it true you like someone here??” She was looking at him excitedly and everybody was curious now. Giyuu was oblivious and said, “I respect everyone as comrades, but I am not quite sure if I am friends with anybody. Although I do suppose I might be with Tanjiro and Nezuko because they said so. But.. I’m not sure. I don’t know exactly what you mean by “like someone here” because it sounds more specific, as if there would only be one.”Â
As Giyuu rambled on everyone was staring at him with exhasperated (I’m not even going to try spelling it) looks, but they all thought that this was adorable—except Sanemi and Obanai. At least that’s what they told themselves-
Mitsuri giggled. “I meant in a lover kind of way, Onii-chan!” She leaned around Sanemi and Obanai and poked him playfully.
Giyuu’s eyes widened as he realized how much he’d misinterpreted it. “Oh.”
Everyone stared at the two. “Onii-chan..?”
Mitsuri and Giyuu nodded.
When all they recieved was blank stares Mitsuri went to respond but Tanjiro beat her to it. “They see each other as siblings! I assume that they remind the other of someone or they’re just close with them in more of a sibling-bond than a friend one!”
This time the stares were directed to Tanjiro who was confused why he was being stared at. “Did I say something wrong?” he asked nervously.
“No, we’re just wondering how you know that,” Zenitsu said, giving him an incredulous look.
“Oh! I thought it was obvious-” Tanjiro said, confused.
“…no it wasn’t-?” Zenitsu gave his friend and equally confused look. “Or you’re just phychic.”
Before the two could continue arguing, Shinobu interrupted. “Enough of this, let’s get back to the game. Tomioka-San, do you like someone here—in a lover way, as Mitsuri put it?” Everyone’s attention turned back to the Water Hashira who had been just enjoying all the attention away from him when they all turned their eyes back.
“Uhm..” Giyuu gave them an uncomfortable look. “Yes..?”
That caught the attention of all those who hadn’t been focused on him. Everybody wanted to know who since Giyuu was known for keeping to himself and being somewhat ’emotionless.’ Giyuu didn’t look like he was going to say more, though, so they didn’t say anything.Â
Everyone turned back to the middle. Giyuu cleared his throat then said, “Ah, Tsuyuri, truth or dare?”
Kanao thought for a second, almost forgetting to use her coin, but then she remembered and flicked it into the air. “Truth.”
Giyuu thought for several long moments until Sanemi poked him. “Hurry up dumbass, we haven’t got all night.”
“Oh yes, sorry, uhm.. Are you and Kanzaki going out?” he asked bluntly.
Kanao and Aoi turned red and the others grew silent. Then Kanao nodded slowly and turned away. Shinobu rolled her eyes at Giyuu and scolded him for a little until the others grew impaitent.Â
“Okay, Kanao, your turn!” Mitsuri said cheerfully.
Kanao nodded and looked around the circle. “Agatsuma,” she said quietly, turning to Zenitsu who was somewhat across from her. He looked up, surprised to hear his name. “U-uh yes?”
“Truth or dare.” Kanao looked at him impaitently.Â
“Oh yeah- Uhm. Truth,” Zenitsu said, picking randomly. (Naur the wheel picked<3)
“Very well.” Kanao thinks for a moment. “How did your hair turn yellow and orange? I’ve heard it was originally black.”
Zenitsu was surprised she knew this but nodded. “It was black before. But now it’s yellow. Back when I was still training with Gramps, I got hit by a lightning strike and my hair turned yellow.”
“Oh, that must’ve been horrible!” Mitsuri gasped. “Did you get hurt?”
“Not badly.” Zenitsu wasn’t used to being worried about. Except for when the Kamado’s did, of course. But he wasn’t used to others worrying as well. He flushed. “Anyways. Tanjiro?”
Tanjiro smiled and nodded. “Dare!”
Given that most of the questions or dares had been digging into people’s love life, Zenitsu decided to do the same, feeling a little more confident. “Kiss your crush!” He grinned.
Tanjiro looked startled. “B-But..” He flushed. “What if they don’t want to? And both?”
The others there looked confused. “Both?” Kyojuro asked. Kyojuro and Tengen had been watching the whole procession quietly, not wanting to be roped into it. They both found it very amusing, however, and talked to each other, laughing about it quietly. Now, though, Kyojuro found that he should jump in because nobody else was asking it and he was curious.
Tanjiro nodded slowly, embarrassed. “I have.. two crushes..” he whispered. Zenitsu was looking at Tanjiro intently, but the other wouldn’t look back. In fact, Tanjiro seemed to be avoiding Zenitsu and Inosuke’s eyes specifically. The blond shook it off as nervousness since the two were his best friends and he might be the most anxious to tell them.
Unfortunately for Tanjiro, everybody seemed really curious now and they all pestered him until he finally said, “Can I just say who they are, but not, you know, kiss them..?”Â
Everybody found this fair enough and nodded to which Tanjiro took a deep breath and said quickly, “ZenitsuandInosuke.” They all blinked, trying to hear what he’d said. Tanjiro repeated it a little more slowly and then—
Zenitsu fell over in shock, his face red, but Inosuke seemed almost defiant. “WHY DO YOU LIKE ME??? HUH?? A CRUSH??? DO YOU WANT TO CRUSH ME??” He obviously knew what Tanjiro meant but he didn’t seem to believe it. The wild demon slayer continued shouting questions at Tanjiro who sat stock-still, flushed.
After Tanjiro managed to calm down and the others got Inosuke to as well, they all sat silently for a couple minutes before Genya said, “Why don’t we continue the game-?”
Everyone agreed quickly just to get rid of the awkward silence. Giyuu cleared his throat. “E-Ehm.. Tanjiro?”
The said boy looked up. “Hm?”
“Your turn.”
“Oh yes. Ahh..” Tanjiro looked around the circle. “Kochou-San?” He glanced at Shinobu.
“Ooh, yes?” Shinobu asked, glad to have been picked. She really wanted to ask Giyuu a question, and the only way to do it was if someone asked her first.
“Truth or dare?”
Shinobu looked thoughtful. “Truth, I suppose.”
“Okay, hmm.” Tanjiro thought for a moment. “How old were you when you became a demon slayer?”
Shinobu was surprised by this question, given that everyone else’s was a lot more.. they dug a lot more into their love lives. But she supposed she should’ve expected this from Tanjiro for his way of considering other people’s feelings probably prevented him from asking such things. “Ah, I don’t quite remember. I’m sure Himejima-San knows, but I don’t.”
Tanjiro nodded. “Okay, I get that!”
Shinobu smiled at him. Everybody else had nothing to add to that so Shinobu went on with her plan. She turned and smiled in a more mischevious manner than the tone her expression had held towards the young boy. “Tomioka-San. Truth or dare?”
Giyuu sighed heavily. “Ahh..” If he picked truth, she would make him tell her something embarrassing, but if he picked dare he would have to do something embarrassing. He figured neither could be worse. “T-” he started. He coughed and only managed to get out a soft, “ru-” before he fell into another coughing fit. The others were startled and Mitsuri hurried to help him. She patted his back. “What happened?” she asked as she gave him some water.
Giyuu didn’t know so he just shrugged. Shinobu waved it off. “Well, he picked dare. I dare you to sit you your crush’s lap for the rest of the night! Wait no, sit on his lap till we sleep then you guys have to sleep in the same sleeping bag.”Â
Giyuu couldn’t protest because he’d choked on the water and was coughing again. Shinobu smirked. “Perfect. Now up you go!”
Once Giyuu managed to regain his breath, he whispered, “and if the situation is like Tanjiro’s?”
Nobody understood at first but then Tengen said, “Ohh, he means what if he has two crushes, right?”
Giyuu nodded. Tengen grinned. “How flamboyant.” Shinobu’s smirk grew even bigger. “Then you must switch between them every now and then. Or you can lay on their laps~” she giggled at his horrified expression. “Go on~ Do it!” Mitsuri went to ask Shinobu if this was a good idea, but the Insect Hashira just waved her off and insisted it was fine.
Giyuu got up slowly and turned in a slow circle, trying to save as much time as he could with nobody knowing. Then, he simply plopped onto Obanai’s lap and cast his eyes down, his face already heating up. He felt everyone’s eyes on him. Then, Zenitsu said, “Well that was unexpected.” There was a murmur of agreement. Giyuu kept his eyes down until Mitsuri squealed and he looked up. “AWHH LOOK!! IGURO-SAN’S BLUSHING!!” she said happily. Everyone turned to look at Obanai who was hiding behind Giyuu. He was, indeed, very red.Â
“N-No I’m not! I’m just.. uh.. embarrassed to have to have such a.. a person like Tomioka like me! T-to be on my lap!” Obanai said defiantly. Giyuu looked down again and fidgeted with his haori. Obanai noticed this and felt kind of bad, but his ego had him in control at the moment and he pretended not to have seen. Giyuu went to get up but Shinobu was quicker and she pushed him back down. “Uh uh, this is your dare! Now, you sit on your second crush’s lap in two round, okay?” she said. Giyuu nodded slowly, hoping those two rounds would go by very slowly. Obanai was the safer bet, but considering he didn’t seem to like Giyuu, the second one’s reaction would probably be a lot worse.
The next two rounds went by in a blur. Giyuu made Muichiro say who he liked (Genya, much to Sanemi’s horror) and then Muichiro forgot what was happening so they gave the turn to Genya who asked Tengen who was his favorite wife (he said he loved all four equally, which brought many question but Tengen never answered them).Â
Shinobu smiled happily. “Now~ Tomioka-San! Switch laps.” She’d been keeping a close eye on him the whole time so Giyuu knew there was no escaping. He sighed and got up. Everybody watched as he moved slowly and sat down on..
…
…
Sanemi’s lap.
Giyuu turned even redder and the others had never seen so much color on the Water Hashira before. They were all shocked speechless. Given Sanemi and GIyuu’s… rough history, he’d been the last person they’d thought he would go to. At the silence, Giyuu looked up and realized they were still processing it. Then he said quietly, “Iguro and I fight a lot, why was Shinazugawa such a surprise?”
Mitsuri gave a squeak of surprise. “T-True, but Shinazugawa-San is a lot more.. violent and he and you fight quite a lot more than Iguro-San and you,” she explained.
Giyuu nodded, figuring this made sense. Then Shinobu got bored and said they should move onto the next game, much to everyone’s (only a couple’s) disappointment. She pulled a paper out of the hat. “Fuck, Marry, Kill,” she said.
Tanjiro glared at her pointedly and she shrugged. “Fine, Kiss, Marry, Kill.” Tanjiro gave her an approving-ish nod.
Shinobu turned to the others. “Who first?”
Tengen raised his hand high like a child. “ME!!”
“Okay then, go.”
“Hm. Kyojuro! Kiss, Marry, Kill. Me, Tomioka, Kochou.” Tengen smirked.
Kyojuro thought for a moment. “Kiss Tomioka, Marry you, and.. I don’t want to kill Kochou but this is just a game! So, kill Kochou!” he said confidently.
Tengen grinned. “You flatter me!”
Giyuu was much quieter than usual. Shinobu looked down right offended. “I- Why-?” she asked.
“I feel closer to Tomioka than you, simply! I do not mean any harm or negative things towards you! Just more positive towards him!” Kyojuro stated. Shinobu sighed but nodded. “Okay then.”
Giyuu was still processing. “But.. why would you pick me over her??” he asked uncertainly.
“I feel closer to you than to her!” Kyojuro repeated paitently.
Giyuu looked down, not believing it. Tengen rolled his eyes. “It’s a game, don’t think too much about it.” Giyuu nodded slowly, deciding to stick with that so he didn’t dig the hole any deeper.Â
Tengen nodded too then straightened up. “Who next?”Â
Mitsuri had gone next, picking Shinobu. The options had been Giyuu, Tengen, and Obanai, to which Shinobu had said, “Why did you have to make them so hard to choose from?! Fine.. uhhh.” Then she thought for another minute before saying, “Kill Uzui, Kill Tomioka, and Kill Iguro.” But Mitsuri got upset so she changed them to, “Kill Uzui, Kiss Tomioka—but only if forced, and marry Iguro—but only because I have no choice. Not even death was a choice.” Some of the others thought this was rather amusing, but Uzui was very offended. “WHY KILL ME BOTH TIMES???” he’d shouted. Shinobu ignored him and made Tanjiro go next.Â
The Kamaboko Squad hadn’t been as active with these games as the Hashira, mostly because Inosuke was too busy sneaking food from the kitchen, Aoi was trying to stop him, Kanao and Nezuko were wandering around, Genya was just watching, scared if he intervened Sanemi would snap at him (sure, they’d made up earlier but the tension between them was still there) and Zenitsu and Tanjiro were just.. just there. So really, it was mostly the Hashira now.
Tanjiro was surprised to hear his name but he nodded. “Ah, hm.. Tokito!” He turned to Muichiro who was drawing invisible birds in the air. “Kiss, Marry, Kill, Genya, Kanao, Nezuko.” He looked curious as to what Muichiro would pick.
Of course, it took a couple minutes and several repititions before Muichiro actually understood and remembered where he was. “Kiss.. Marry.. Marry Genya.. Kiss.. Kiss Genya.. Kill.. ” he paused. “Hug..? Hug Nezuko.. Who is Kanao?”Â
The others watched him in adoration. Shinobu looked a little offended that he had forgotten her sister but she pretended not to be and just smiled at him. Tanjiro was touched that he’d changed the kill to hug for Nezuko. He said gently, “Kanao is that girl over there. The one with the butterfly clip?” he pointed to Kanao who was currently putting Nezuko’s hair in a bun.
(I’m either stupid or I had a reason for this, but I wrote ‘flower clip’ instead of ‘butterfly clip’ the first time 💀)
Muichiro nodded slowly, although he didn’t seem to understand fully. “Hug, too..”
Meanwhile, Genya was beat red and was avoiding all eye contact. Muichiro got up and said quietly, “I dare.. I dare me to sit on.. Genya’s lap..” Then he sat himself down on the flustered demon slayer’s lap and got comfortable, cuddling onto him. The others awed at the sight while Giyuu kept Sanemi away from attacking Muichiro.
Time skip, 1 hour
By now, everyone was hungry (even Inosuke who had already eaten a lot) so Aoi went to go make food. Kanao, Tanjiro and Nezuko offered to help cook and Inosuke offered to taste-test. So the four went off to the kitchen and the other who sat in the circle waited. The circle parted into groups now, Sanemi, Obanai, and Giyuu in one corner, Shinobu and Mitsuri spying on the three, Genya, Muichiro, Kyojuro, and Tengen sitting in their own circle, Zenitsu just.. there.
“Mitsuri!” Shinobu whispered.
The multi-color haired girl turned to look at the shorter Hashira. “Hm?”
“We should get the pride flags! We can wrap them up then give them to everyone and pretend they’re gifts then they can all get the flags! I know most of their sexualities—don’t ask how or why—but there are some I don’t. Maybe you might know?” Shinobu asked.
Mitsuri nodded. “Just tell me those you know and don’t!” she said, agreeing to the plan quickly.
“Tomioka is Gay-sexual (I was being goofy okay-), Shinazugawa is Pansexual, Iguro is Bisexual—all three of them might be poly but we’ll ignore that—Rengoku is Pansexual, Uzui Pansexual, Polysexual, and Polyamorous (The fact that i’m poly but had to look up how it was spelled ;-;), Kanao is Lesbian, like me, Shinazu- ah, Genya, is Gay, Tokito is Gay, and.. that’s all I know. Besides that you’re Pan and I’m Lesbian,” Shinobu added.
Mitsuri smiled. “That’s a lot! And I think I know the rest. Aoi-chan is still in question, but leaning towards Lesbian, Zenitsu-kun is Gay and Poly, Inosuke-kun doesn’t care, but he thinks he’s Gay and Poly, like Zenitsu-kun. Tanjiro-kun is Pan and Poly and Nezuko-chan is cute!”Â
Shinobu smiled back and nodded along as Mitsuri talked. “Thank you!” she said. “And I agree, Nezuko is adorable.” She thought for a moment. “It seems most are Pan?”
Mitsuri laughed as she realized that. “That’s true!”
The two Hashira got up and excused themselves to the bathroom before going to Shinobu’s room. Shinobu shut the door and turned to Mitsuri and gave her a playful smirk. “Shall we start?”
Time skip #2, 15 minutes later
Everyone was back in the main room now. Aoi had brought trays of food and everyone was eating by the time Shinobu and Mitsuri came back. The two looked slightly out of breath but they both bore smiles on their faces.Â
“What were you two doing?” Obanai asked as everyone sat ’round in a circle again.
Shinobu said nothing and Mitsuri just smiled. The others looked confused but didn’t question it any further. The two sat down and everyone was quiet as they ate, the only sounds being the clatter of utensils against plates and the chewing (and Inosuke’s loud opening and closing his mouth as he ate). Then Sanemi said, “Now what? These games are getting boring.”
Shinobu and Mitsuri looked at each other then got up.Â
“Where’re you going?” Genya asked.
They left without another word, leaving everyone confused. A couple minutes later, though, they came back with their arms full of brown parcels. They dumped them on the floor and everyone (except Inosuke) stopped eating and put their plates to the side to see what this was all about.
“Okay! I’m going to hand them out and everyone open them at the same time, okay?” Shinobu ordered as she and Mitsuri started handing out the parcels. After everyone got theirs, Mitsuri counted down. “1.. 2.. and.. 3!”
Everybody ripped theirs open curiously. At the sight of the flags, some of them laughed, someof them looked even more confused, and some looked scared.
Mitsuri cocked her head to the side at Zenitsu’s frightened expression. Next to the blond teenager, his friend was pulling the sewed together pan and poly flag-blanket over his shoulders. Tanjiro smiled and turned to Zenitsu but then caught sight of his scared face. “What happened?”
“HOW DID YOU GUYS KNOW OUR SEXUALITIES??” Zenitsu exclaimed. “Have you been stalking us?!”
Shinobu looked annoyed. “Don’t mind that.”
“Where did you get all of these??” Tengen asked as he tied his around his neck like a cape.
“I don’t know! They were just in Shinobu-San’s room!” Mitsuri said.
Shinobu grinned. “Uzui. Remember how I made you pay me after trying to kidnap Aoi? I used that money to buy all of this.”
Tengen looked embarrassed at the mention of that but he just nodded. Kyojuro looked at him curiously. “You tried kidnapping Kanzaki?” he asked, confused.
Shinobu gave Tengen a dark glare. “Yes, he did.”
Tengen laughed nervously. “Ahaha- well, I didn’t after all…!”
Shinobu didn’t drop her gaze. “Yet that was only because these three”—she pointed to Inosuke, Tanjiro, and Zenitsu—”stopped you and went themselves. And they almost died. You almost got Aoi killed!”
“B-But she didn’t! She didn’t die or get killed!” Tengen protested. He looked around for help but everyone was frozen as Shinobu surveyed the room, seeing who would go to Tengen’s rescue. When nobody did she gave them a half smile then turned her attention back to the Sound Hashira.
“You were being very.. gay.”
Tengen blinked. “What?”
“Are you deaf? Aren’t you the Sound Hashira?? Or has all your gayness caught up to you and you can’t hear?” Shinobu said with a smirk.
(This is a goofy joke bc i got stuck and someone said to make her say ‘gay’ and I decided to keep it because it’s 1am and I couldn’t give less of a fuck🤩)
(Anyways pretend that never happened-)
Mitsuri and Shinobu got the flags they’d been wearing earlier when they had invaded Giyuu’s house, and put them on. Giyuu was looking very confused at his. “How did you know my sexuality though..? I never told anyone.”Â
Shinobu and Mitsuri glance at each other with amused expressions. “You weren’t very subtle with it.”
“I wasn’t?” the Water Hashira questioned. He had thought he’d hidden it pretty well.
“Mhm.”
“Oh.”
Time skip #3, several more hours of chaos later.
(this is me being lazy, skipping ahead, and speeding it up bc I’m taking too long to write this random ahh chaotic story that doesn’t make sense)
Everyone was getting their sleeping bags out now. Shinobu instructed them to go off and run around after sitting for so long before she moves the sleeping bags into ways that the ships would all sleep next to each other. When they came back they were all confused at first about the random movement of their sleeping arrangements, but when they all found their sleeping bags and went to lay down, the reason for the placement became obvious and nearly everyone glared at Shinobu who acted like she didn’t know why they glared.
Tengen was perfectly content with this, however, and even cuddled closer to Kyojuro. As everyone drifted off to sleep, Tengen figured the others wouldn’t know because he thought they were sleeping, so he moved over and bit Kyojuro’s neck lightly, sucking until the Flame Hashira’s face was equally red like his breathing style, and there was a very visable hickey on his neck. Tengen smirked as he pulled back and went to go back to cuddling Kyojuro when he noticed some movement. He turned and saw Giyuu quickly pretending he hadn’t seen anything. Tengen didn’t mind that much but Kyojuro did once he realize someone had seen and who it had been. He turned redder than before and hid in Tengen’s arms for the rest of the night.
Meanwhile, Giyuu was still processing what had just happened as he lay quietly, stuck in between Sanemi and Obanai whom were both pretending to be asleep just so they could discuss something after Giyuu fell asleep. Unfortunately for them, Giyuu still hadn’t fallen asleep 1 hour later and they grew impatient. Then suddenly, Sanemi jerked up and turned to Giyuu, mouthing a quick “be quiet” before he went down and was an inch away from the Water Hashira. He gave Giyuu the choice to push him away or anything, and when he didn’t Sanemi smirked and went all in, pressing his lips against Giyuu’s. The beautiful blue eyes of Giyuu’s widened but he closed them as the kiss grew more passionate. Giyuu felt a wave of emotions hit him. Nervousness. Fear. Giddyness. Surprise. Shock. Joy. And something else. Something he hadn’t felt in such a long time..
But then Sanemi pulled back and Giyuu felt disappointed. Then he saw why, when Obanai’s face appeared closer in the darkness of the room. The shorter of the three seemed to want some attention as well. He pulled off his bandages, feeling a little more confident about showing it because of earlier. He bent down, his black hair brushing against Giyuu’s cheeks. He hesitated but Giyuu pulled him down and Sanemi watched the two interlock into an intimate moment. He smiled. A real smile. And after the two raven haired Hashira parted, the three cuddled for a little, the previous occurrence Giyuu had witnessed became something far off in his mind, the only thing he wanted to think about were the two Hashira whom he’d quarreled with the most, yet was now most likely the closest with.
An hour before, Genya and Muichiro had been laying peacefully when suddenly Muichiro, in his sleep, turned over and instinctively clinged onto Genya. The young demon slayer turned red and went to ask Muichiro what he was doing when he realized the Hashira was actually asleep. Eventually he gave in and ended up falling asleep with his arms around Muichiro.
Around the same time, Kanao and Aoi had been talking quietly. Just aimless conversations, just for the fun of it. The two enjoyed each other’s presence just itself so they didn’t do much else. They talked for another 20 minutes until Aoi said they should sleep. Kanao complied and the two fell asleep slowly, their breaths growing slower as their bodies relaxed. In her sleep, Kanao smiled.
Inosuke had been rather chaotic with all of this but eventually they had managed to get him under control. For a little. Tanjiro was sleeping peacefully when suddenly, he felt something warm and heavy fall onto his body. He instinctively went to kick it away but then he realized it was Inosuke and he sighed, amused. He let himself relax and he started to drift off to sleep again when Inosuke suddenly kicked his face. Tanjiro grunted and moved Inosuke to be laying the normal way before pulling the blanket over him again and closed his eyes. Next minute he found Inosuke curled up in a ball half on top of Zenitsu, half on top of Tanjiro. Zenitsu was too deep in sleep to notice and Tanjiro didn’t want to wake either of them up so he left the wild teen like that. It was a while until Tanjiro was able to sleep but it was worth it because when he woke up, he found himself somehow smashed into a hug with Zenitsu and Inosuke.
Shinobu and Mitsuri had been watching some of it, and they were trying to not squeal as they were excited the sleepover had been a success. Half of the reason for it was just for everyone to finally get together like they all wanted but were to nervous or shy to actually. In their excitement, Mitsuri clasped Shinobu’s hands and kissed her. She pulled away a second later, embarrassed at the action but Shinobu pulled her back in and the two embraced each other happily.
