“Obanai!” Giyuu said, bounding up to his boyfriend.

“Hm?”

“You’re a cutie patootie!!” he said enthusiastically.

Obanai blinked. “What…?”

Giyuu nodded matter-of-factly. “Uzui told me that I’m bad at complimenting so he told me that he can help me. Uhm. Uhm, you’re the pookiest pookie!!”

Obanai rolled his eyes, crossing his arms. “I preferred when when you could only think of calling me ‘cool.'”

Giyuu frowned. “But…”

“But nothing, I don’t want compliments if they’re from Uzui,” Obanai said, reaching up and pinching Giyuu’s cheek. “So respectfully shut up, alright?”

“…Okay,” Giyuu mumbled, saddened by the fact that he had failed.

Obanai sighed and pulled him in for a hug, patting his back. 

“Don’t worry. I’m fine without compliments,” he said.

“Iguro, why do you never eat?” Giyuu asked, frowning. He had just finished his food, placing his bowl on the table.

Obanai shrugged, handing a napkin to Giyuu. “Not hungry. Also, I prefer not to take off my mask.”

“I’m sure you look fine,” Giyuu said, resting his elbows on the table, his head in his hands. 

“I look horrendous,” Obanai told him shaking his head. He stood. “Let’s go. It’s too crowded here.”

Giyuu nodded and took Obanai’s hand as they made their way down a path. “I bet you look nice.”

“Then you bet wrong,” Obanai said. 

“Prove it!” Giyuu decided, stopping and turning to Obanai, a childish pout upon his lips. “I don’t think you look bad at all with the bandages, so I’m sure you look just as great without them.”

Obanai frowned. “Let’s go somewhere without prying eyes then.”

“Okay!”

After they arrived at Obanai’s estate and had settled down upon the tatami mat, Giyuu urged him to take off the bandages, swearing upon his heart that he wouldn’t judge at all.

Obanai sighed and took off his bandages slowly, angling his head down for a minute before looking up at his boyfriend, a mixture of uncertainty and shame in his eyes.

Giyuu blinked. “What were you worrying about…?” he asked, tilting his head and leaning closer.

Obanai rolled his eyes, sighing. “Are you blind? It’s the fucking scar!”

“Oh! Why were you worrying?” Giyuu asked, scooting closer and pulling Obanai onto his lap. 

“The fuck do you mean?! I look like a monster,” Obanai said, leaning against Giyuu’s chest.

“No you don’t! You look cute,” Giyuu said, peppering Obanai’s jaw where the scar creviced(?) his face.

“I do not!” he said defiantly. “It makes me look like a demon.”

Giyuu gave a dramatic gasp. “You think that Shinazugawa looks like a demon?!”

“What?! No! He looks fine, what’re you talking about??” Obanai asked, taken aback by this sudden turn in conversation.

“He has a lot of scars. If they don’t hinder your seeing him as a human than your scar shouldn’t stop you from looking human either!” Giyuu said, kissing Obanai’s forehead. 

“…I hate how I can’t actually argue with that,” Obanai said, crossing his arms.

Giyuu’s lips quirked in a smile. “I love you too.”
