Axel’s POV
Pete looks at me with wide eyes.
“I-I had no idea that happened.. And here I was complaining about my situation when-“
“Stop. Just because my situation may seem worse than yours, that doesn’t make your problems any less important” I interrupt Pete and frown.
“You’re right, I’m sorry” Pete says as he looks down at his feet.
I lightly punch him in the chest, “Hey, no need to feel bad. Come on, let’s go find lover boy”
“Yours?” Pete looks up with a smirk at what Jack said and I punch him on the shoulder.
“Ow! That one actually hurt dude” Jack frowns at me and I stick my tongue out at him.
He rolls his eyes, “Real mature”
“I knew something was going on between you and Jayden!” Pete says, and I blush.
“Yeah, we’re dating” Pete’s eyes widen in shock.
He smiles widely at me, “Congratulations, I’m happy for you guys”
I roll my eyes, “You sound like I just got married”
“Are you saying you don’t want to marry me?” a husky voice behind me says, and I jump back in shock.
“Geez don’t scare me like that, I have a fragile heart!” I say, placing a hand over my racing heart and playfully glare at him.
Jay lets out a low chuckle, then hugs me. “I missed you”
I laugh, “I literally just saw you this morning, it’s been 3 hours”
“3 hours too long” he retorts. He attempts to kiss me but I slap my hand on his lips before he gets to do so.
“My friends are here” I point to them, and Jay looks over at them, annoyed.
“By all means, go on” Jack says, and Pete nods along.
I roll my eyes, “Like you’re getting any free porn. Anyways, Pete. Now that you know, you don’t have anything to worry about. Though, it would be nice if you helped around the house”
Pete smiles and nods, “Of course, I’ll do everything I normally do at my place”
I nod and smile, “That’s all I need”
“Are you hiring him as a housekeeper?” Jay’s voice interrupts. I turn to look at him, and he has an adorable confused look on his handsome face.
I chuckle, “No, if-” I stop myself, and look to Pete for permission. He nods, but I don’t plan on telling him everything yet.
“If Pete’s parents kick him out, I gave him the option of moving in with me” I say and Jay frowns.
“I want to move in with you” he says, completely serious. I laugh and shake my head.
“You’re not even going to ask why Pete’s parents would kick him out?” I ask incredulously.
He shakes his head, “That’s Pete’s personal business, I don’t want to intrude on that. Instead, I tell you that I want to move in too”
“You know you can’t right?” he pouts and nods.
“Soon, one day I will” he says and I blush.
“You’re thinking real far ahead aren’t you, tough guy?” I say and pat him on the shoulder. We hear the warning bell ring, and go our separate ways after saying goodbye. Jay walks me to class, obviously.
“Did you find out the cause of Pete’s weird behaviour?” Jay asks as we walk to my next class.
“Yeah, I’ll tell you later. It’s messed up” Jay nods, and we talk for a little more before I reach my classroom. Jay gives me a kiss on the cheek before heading off to his class.
The day goes by quickly, and soon the bell rings signifying the end of school. I pack up my things, and just as I was about to leave the classroom, I receive a text from Jay. I laugh at what Jay changed his contact name to. He’s never going to let me live that down, is he?

I have football practice today, u want to wait or I’ll just come over later?

Actually, am I allowed to come watch ur practice?
Wait really?! You’ll come watch?
If I’m allowed to, ya sure. Why not

I put my phone away and head to the field. When I get there, I see a lot of boys talking and stretching on the field. I look around the field and see Jay standing by the bleachers, so I make my way over. He was talking to a few guys on the team, so I just sit down behind him. One of the guys Jay was talking to spots me, and smiles. I smile back, albeit confusedly.
“Oi, Jay. You’re boyfriend’s here” the guy says, and points at me. Jay turns around, and a huge grin spreads on his face.
“Hey baby” he says and gives me a kiss on the cheek.
“Hi” I say and smile. We stare at each other for a while, until the guy who spotted me cleared his throat awkwardly.
“Right. Axe, this is Tim and Wilson. They’re my teammates” he says and I wave at them.
They wave back, and the guy who I assume to be Wilson says, “Nice to meet you. Jay wouldn’t stop talking about you ever since you guys got together, that it makes me feel like I’m the one dating you with all the information about you that I know”
I let out an embarrassed chuckle, and punch Jay in the arm. I playfully glare at him, “You talking about me behind my back, Williams?”
Jay laughs, “Every second of every day, Miller”
I roll my eyes and lightly shove him, while the guys laugh at us. Their coach blows the whistle, signifying the beginning of practice. Everyone runs to gather around the coach, including Tim and Wilson. Jay turns around and looks at me.
He pouts, “I have to go now”
I laugh, “Go, before your coach yells at you. Show me what you got, tough guy”
He kisses me on the cheek before running off to join the rest of the team. I take my out my headphones, and play some music.
The coach yells something and they all yell back, before they start running laps. Then, they started throwing a football around and practicing plays. Jay’s shown me a paper with a bunch of the team’s plays and explained them all to me, so I see some plays that I recognize.
Throughout the practice, Jay constantly glances over at me and gives me a proud smile that clearly says look-at-me-I’m-so-cool, in which I laugh and roll my eyes.
Soon, their practice comes to an end and Jay runs over to me. “I’m going to go shower real quick and grab my things from the locker room. I’ll give you my keys and you can wait in the car okay?”
I nod, and I follow Jay into the locker room. He hands me his keys and I walk out of the school, to his car. I get in and wait for Jay, which doesn’t take long. I sit in the car for about five minutes before I see him exit the school and walk towards the car. He gets in and smiles at me, leaning in and giving me a quick kiss.
“That was fast, are you sure you showered?” I say and he laughs.
“Couldn’t let my princess wait too long for me, now can I? And of course I showered, mom” he says in a playful tone and I blush, rolling my eyes.
We laugh and talk on the ride back to my house. Jay pulls up onto my driveway and I go to unlock the door, heading in with Jay in tow. We go to the living room, and Jay helps me with my homework that I don’t understand. My brain seems to be starting to pick stuff up at the rate it used to, so I’m sure in no time, I’ll be able to do this stuff without anymore help. But for now, I’m happy that I have Jay tutoring me, although it hurts my pride to have a jock tutor me. Even if he has the top grades of the grade now. After we finish our homework, we decide to just watch a movie and cuddle on the couch. I tell Jay about what Pete told us at lunch and he frowns.
“That’s messed up. How could she even think of doing that to her own brother?” he grimaces.
“I know right? Pete was scared to fall for Franco again cause he didn’t want to be homeless, so I offered him a place to stay so hopefully they can resolve their problems soon. It hurts seeing Pete so frustrated all the time” I say and Jay kisses my head.
“They’ll talk it out and everything will get sorted between them, don’t worry” Jay says and I smile at him as we turn back to the movie.
I like days like this, where we just talk, cuddle, and enjoy each other’s presence. I’ve had many people leave me in my life, and honestly, Jay would hurt the most if he ever decides he’s had enough of me and leaves. I was skeptical about trusting someone else again at first, since I’ve been hurt so much, but all I can say is that I’m genuinely happy now. I think I’m falling in love with him, if I haven’t already.
