Offroad POV
Offroad took a deep breath before entering Daou’s office with the stack of paperwork he held in his hands. This stack of paperwork contained his freedom from this place. It had been a few days since Offroad had last seen the man, almost kissed him actually, if Poon hadn’t interrupted he would have let the man. Offroad still didn’t understand why being in such close proximity to Daou had him throwing all logic and reason out of the window. Daou texted him almost immediately as soon as he plugged his phone into the charger. Offroad had begun sending him videos of Chance since the day he was born.
“What can I help you with?” Daou asked from his desk looking back and forth from the computer screen to the papers in front of him.
“Oh, I have the papers for you to sign to complete the funds transfer,” Offroad informed him as he stepped closer to his desk. Upon hearing his voice Daous’ head shot straight up giving Offroad his full attention.
“Oh it’s you,” Daou smiled at him. Daou in the midst of all of this was remaining kind and pleasant and that confused Offroad. “Let me take a look,” Daou said, reaching out a hand for the paperwork that Offroad handed over. Daou began to skim through it as Offroad stood there looking around his office, it was the first time he had entered this room. It was modern but modern with comfort. The desk was huge with an abundance of workspace and the shelves behind Daou were filled with books and nick-nacks over to the right was a large comfy looking black leather couch, a mini fridge, a prep station, a sink, a microwave, and a small tabletop bar station.
“Do you like to read?” Offroad asked, trying to fill the silence. Daou looked up at him, giving him a confused look, as Offroad pointed to the shelves behind him.
“Oh,” Daou chuckled, turning to look at the books. “I haven’t a single clue what is up there. I think my mother had them put there in hopes I would read them but I’m too busy.” He laughed, turning his attention back to the papers.
“May I?” Offroad asked, wanting to see the books his mother wanted him to read.
“Of course,” Daou said, waving his hand behind him, not looking up from his task at hand. “Feel free to take any you want god knows I won’t be touching them.” Offroad stepped behind Daou’s desk running his finger across the book spines. All the books contained a similar theme. Love.
“Your mother must have wanted you to find love,” Offroad chuckled as he continued to examine the books.
“Probably,” Daou laughed. “Oh, my mother wanted to know if Chance could come for dinner sometime next week.” Offroad felt a lump in his throat, he knew at some point in time Chance was going to have to meet his family and that also at some point he was going to have to get comfortable with Daou taking Chance alone. He wanted this situation to progress and move forward but every way he looked at it he felt like he was losing his son whom he had selfishly kept to himself for almost 6 years. “Offroad?” He heard Daou ask as he spun, no longer looking at the book titles.
“Hmm? Oh yeah, that’s fine,” Offroad tired, giving him his best reassuring smile.
“Great, I’ll let her know,” Daou said excitedly as he picked up his phone to text her Offroad had noticed his wallpaper was not a photo Daou must have taken from the park as it was his son making a monkey face at the top of the slide. Offroad smiled at that. Daou finished the text to his mother as he laid down his phone once again picking up the papers. “It looks fine to me. I’ll send them over to Geler to take a look at them before signing.”
“Great,” Offroad said, pushing himself away from the shelves. “Then I will officially be out of your hair, well at least here in the office.” He chuckled while walking back to the front of Daou’s desk.
“What do you mean?” Daou asked, eyes getting wide.
“Oh, I’m only here until you sign those papers and then I’ll be working remotely back at the other branch until-” Offroads words trailed off as Daou started releasing alpha pheromones causing Offroad to freeze in panic as they were angry. “Daou,” Offroad gasped trying to breathe.
“Oh shit,” Daou said, getting up and racing to Offroad’s side as the scent began to fade just as quickly as it began. “I didn’t mean to, I can’t seem to get a handle on my alpha side lately.” Daou apologized helping Offroad sit in one of the chairs. Running to the mini fridge and grabbing a bottle of water for him. Offroad happily accepted it, chugging half of it in one go.
“It’s fine, I understand,” Offroad said, trying to catch his breath. “You are experiencing a lot of change.”
“I don’t think it likes talks of you or Chance leaving,” Daou said sheepishly rubbing the back of his head in nervousness.
“Noted,” Offroad knew that talks of him leaving meant Chance by extension. He had panicked the other night when Poon had gone to grab Chance from him and heard the scariest growl come from Daou. Offroad wasn’t used to Alphas and their triggers but he had warned Poon not to reach for Chance in front of Daou to which he happily agreed, scared himself of what had transpired. “You’ll have to let me know the rules of alphas.” Offroad laughed.
“I’m sorry?” Daou asked confused at the question
“I don’t have much experience with them and the way they operate, so you will have to let me know. Maybe it will also help me under Chance a bit better as well.” Offroad sighed, he could read all the books on alphas and their tendencies but books and real life are not the same.
“Will do.”
“Oh, I need your address,” Offroad said, remembering the condo search he had done. He had located a few nice affordable ones a bit out of the city but he didn’t know how far they were from Daous place. Poon had offered his home for as long as they needed but Offroad could no longer sleep in the same bed as his son and he knew Poon had his own personal life to attend to and he couldn’t do that with an omega and kid hanging around no matter how much he adored them.
“Why?”
“I was doing some apartment searching outside city limits and I want to make sure I’m staying within the 50 miles.”
“I thought you were going to look at the apartments in my building,” Daou asked, his face growing more and more angry.
“Oh, of course, depending on the price,” Offroad said, his face growing red. He may have been a director’s son but after graduating, the job offer as a junior analyst at the southern financial firm was the last handout he accepted from his father.
“Oh I’ll pay for it,” Daou said, shocking Offroad.
“Oh no,” Offroad said, waving his hands and shaking his head. “I’m still having to pay for the monthly expenses for our home in Hat Yai and the city is just expensive,” Offroad explained, he wasn’t rolling in money but he and his son lived comfortably but if he was paying 2 monthly expenses for condos he couldn’t afford the prices of those in the city.
“Please let me help.” Daou sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. Offroad suddenly felt bad he wasn’t trying to argue with Daou but he didn’t want his money, he worked really hard to get where he was, and he didn’t like handouts.
“You are,” Offroad smiled at him, placing a hand on his knee. “Thank you for the generous offer, but I got it.” Offroad kept smiling trying to reassure him. Offroad watched as Daous’ eyes locked on his hand that was still on his knees, something flashed across his eyes that Offroad didn’t recognize.
“First lesson, touching me like that is quite dangerous,” Daou said in a husky voice as Offroad jerked his hand back.
“Sorry,” Offroad whispered. He was used to being around omegas and betas touching was just common between them.
“You didn’t know,” Daou said, closing his eyes and taking a breath. When he opened them Offroad gasped they were glowing like when you shine a light in an animal’s eyes.
“Your eyes,” Offroad whispered, studying them. “I’ve never seen that before.”
“Yeah tends to happen when my alpha side is overwhelmed with emotions,” Daou chuckled. “Let’s change the subject. Tell me why you are no longer blonde?”
“Blonde? Oh right in college!” Offroad said remembering he was blonde for a short while. “It was too much to maintain. My hair grows really fast so I was spending most of my money on it.” Offroad shrugged.
“That’s why I didn’t recognize you,” Daou chuckled. “I remember you as a blonde with short hair.”
“Oh,” Offroad said, looking down, finally getting the answer to his questions. About 5 weeks after the party Offroad had his stylist dye his hair black, it was growing out once again and Offroad no longer wanted to deal with it.
“You okay?” Daou asked as he leaned forward looking at Offroad with concern.
“Yeah I’m great actually,” Offroad laughed. “I had all these crazy delusional theories as to why I wasn’t memorable but never once thought it was because of my hair.”
“Really? Do tell.” Daou said, sitting back in his chair crossing his legs unbuttoning his suit jacket as if he was settling in to listen to a long story.
“Oh it’s nothing that complicated, the amount of money you left that I left for the maid was a bit much so I figured you thought I was a prostitute.” Offroad laughed.
“What oh god no that wasn’t-”
“I know, it’s okay, again, delusional theories.” Offroad laughed, interrupting Daou to calm him down. “Another one was that I wasn’t experienced enough,” Offroad said sheepishly. “I know you had everyone throwing themselves at you, probably with a lot more experience than I had by that point so it probably wasn’t memorable.”
“You were the first person I regretted leaving in the morning,” Daou whispered. “When I had slipped out of bed you reached for me,” he chuckled looking off into space as if he was remembering the morning after. “I wanted nothing more than to crawl back into bed with you.”
“Why didn’t you?” Offroad whispered, deciding if they were on the topic why not ask all his questions now?
“Force of habit I guess.” Daou sighed shrugging. “I had rules I followed back then and being there when whoever woke up wasn’t allowed. But trust me I remember,” Daou said looking at Offroad his eyes slightly glowing. “I remember your moans and gasps. I remember your begging and pleading.” Offroad was hit with a wave of lust that had him gasping at how strong it was. His omega stirred inside of him. “Lesson number two,” Daou growled as Offroad continued to battle with the lust he was now feeling himself. “An alpha’s sense of smell is 10x stronger. So I can smell when you are angry, when you are scared, sad, or hurt,” Daou said in that husky tone once again as he moved closer to Offroad jabbing his jaw in his hand. “I can smell your lust and need,” Daou said as a whisper against Offroads lips. “I can smell just how wet you are right now.” Offroad gulped his lips inches away from Daous. His cock was hardening in his pants as he was hit with another wave of lust groaning; he could feel his slick gush from his ass as his omega side was fully awake now wanting more than anything to be taken by the alpha in front of him.
“Ou,” Offroad whimpered.
“You have been the only one to call my name like that,” Daou whispered, his mouth moving closer to Offroads. “I’m going to kiss you,” Daou said, pushing his lips against Offroads.
Offroad whimpered pushing himself onto Daou as he wrapped his arms around his neck deepening the kiss. He had wanted this again since Daou had kissed him outside of the restaurant. He had wanted to taste the scent that drove him insane. If his omega was going this insane with want and need he couldn’t even imagine how Daous alpha was acting at the moment. Offroad could feel Daous scent wrap around him like a warm blanket pulling him closer and closer to Daou as their tongues began to taste each other. Offroad whined moving his hands to Daou’s face wanting to taste more of him curling his tongue against his using his lips to taste Daous tongue as well. Offroad did not know when but he had been pulled into Daou’s lap at some point during their kiss and was straddling him.
“Ou,” he whimpered again as he pressed his ass back against Daous cock feeling how big he was. Offroad used the night they spent together to fuel many of his fantasies as he was alone and needed release. Daou stretched him in ways he didn’t know was possible and any lover he had since fell completely short of the expectation Daou had set. Offroad didn’t care if it was only one more time he wanted to feel him again.

Daou POV
Offroad was grinding on his lap kissing him feverishly as Daou responded back by holding his hips down hard against him. Daou since finding out Offroad had been that omega hadn’t been able to stop thinking about the night they had spent together. The way Offroad fit on his cock was like a glove like Offroad was made specifically for Daou and Daous and his alpha loved it, wanted more of it, and wanted to claim him. Even now Daou could feel his teeth elongating as his alpha screamed ‘bite him, bite him‘. If his alpha side had his way Offroad would be bent over his desk with Daou’s cock buried as deep as possible knotting Offroad as he latched onto his neck marking him as Daous. Daou even groaned at that thought, it was barbaric and animalistic but my god he wanted it more than anything.
“Sir,” his secretary’s voice came over the intercom. Daou growled at the interruption as Offroad broke the kiss but Daou grabbed the now distracted Offroad by the face going back in for the kiss. “Sir, your father is here.” His secretary called again. Daou froze and the list he was sending from Offroad quickly turned to panic. Daou grabbed a now wiggling Offroad keeping him on his lap as he reached over to the intercom.
“Tell him to meet me in the conference room, I’ll be there in a minute.” Daou paused looking back up at Offroads face that was flushed red as Offroad tried to look anywhere else but at Daou. He let out a small chuckle.
“It’s not funny,” Offroad mumbled, smacking Daou’s shoulders. Daou wrapped his arms around the boy pulling him close so he could bury his face in Offroads stomach as he breathed the boy’s scent in deeply.
“Stay here until you can no longer smell anything. There is some cologne in the bottom drawer of my desk,” Daou said, finally allowing Offroad to stand up from his waist. He straightened his suit, buttoned his jacket, and turned towards his office door. “Oh,” Daou paused with his hand on the handle. “We will finish this later,” Daou said as he opened the door quickly shutting it. He watched his secretary raise his eyebrow at him before he proceeded to the conference room. She had been his secretary for the last 5 years, before that he ran threw them, them only lasting about a month before Daou would ultimately find them naked in his office begging to be fucked. The first words out of her mouth were “I’m a lesbian,” and Daou knew she was the one. She was very good at her job and at putting up with Daou.
“It’s about time,” his father said as Daou entered the conference room. “God you reek,” his father said, making a face. Daou knew his father could 100% smell the omega pheromones all over him and he didn’t care.
“What do you need, father?” Daou asked, slipping his hands into his pockets and leaning casually up against the wall.
“Well I was coming to see how things are going with the custody arrangement but I can smell they are going just fine.” His father scoffed. “If I knew he was your type I would have taken up Sam on his offer to force you to marry the boy,” His father sighed, taking a seat finally.
“You know the more you open your mouth the more my patience is running thin with you,” Daou said, now crossing his arms over his chest. Daou had found out about his and Offroad’s father’s “deal” involving keeping his son from him. Apparently, Sam had called his father in a fit of rage wanting to know how in the short time they had arranged the marriage between him and Mang, Daou knocked up his illegitimate son. His father was apparently not happy with the proposal to force Daou to marry the boy as he had no rights to Sam’s fortune technically and his father was a businessman first.
“Hate me all you want but you would be where you are today if that boy would have let you know, as I see it he did you a favor,” His father said waving him off.
“A favor? Yeah I wouldn’t be where I am today because I would have been able to raise my son and-”
“And what? Marry the boy?” His father asked, interrupting him laughing that just pissed off Daou.
“So what if I did?!” He asked, raising his voice.
“He is a bastard,” his father said in shock. Daou growled his alpha coming to the surface to protect his omega.
“That is the father of my child and you will speak about him respectfully and show him the same respect as you do me or so help me you will never see your grandchild,” Daou said bending down to stare his father in the face. “Get out of my building,”
“Don’t come crying to me when this blows up in your face,” his father growled back. “Nothing good will come of this,”
“That’s for me to decide now isn’t it?” Daou said, holding the door open for his father. His father stood sharply, giving Daou a side-eye stare as he made his exit. Daou sighed he was done letting people take his choices in life away. The more he interacted with his family he could see why Offroad made the choices he had made. If offroad had been treated like this by his family and people outside his family no wonder he wanted to run from the situation. Daou was determined to show him it was going to be different from here on out. That he was different.
