“AND THE VALUE ASSIGNED TO THE FIRST PLACE CONTESTANT IS TEN MILLION!”

Poor Midoriya. Was the first thought that went through his head. It was a damn miracle the kid even managed to get first place, and now everyone would be gunning after him. Exactly why it was a stupid idea to get so pent up about first place in the first game. Killua thought. I wonder if it was intentional. Killua was scanning the forty one people surrounding him, trying to map out a strategy.

Everyone started sectioning off into teams, so Killua had to work quickly. The smartest route would be for him to pair up with someone like Uraraka, or maybe Tokoyami. He glanced around, looking for either of those two. He quickly spotted Tokoyami and approached him. “Hey, w-” Killua blinked as Tokoyami kind of took a step away from him. “No thanks.” Oh- he tried a few other people, nobody seemed to pay much attention to him. Killua suddenly remembered. Oh right, I’m quirkless. And nobody really has a grasp on my strength right now. Of course nobody wants to pair up with me.

Well that sucked. Nobody from outside his class wanted to take him either. Killua scanned the crowd again, looking for any teams without enough people. Someone’s gotta let me on their team, even if they don’t want to… It took him a bit, but he spotted a group of two. Shoji and Tsu were chatting near the left side of the field. Killua strolled over to them and cleared his throat relatively loudly. Shoji glanced over at him, looking confused. Tsu glanced at him as well with an awkward expression. Killua let out a sigh. “Listen you’re the only group with two people still.”

Shoji let out a sigh. “I understand. I don’t want to be rude but…you can’t exactly contribute much.” He said, looking apologetic. Killua rolled his eyes. “I can contribute plenty.” He shot back, eyes turning to Tsu. I have an idea but I’m not sure if it’ll work. “Tsu, how far can you stretch your tongue out?” Tsu tilted her head. “About 20 meters, Kero. why?” Killua nodded thoughtfully. “Shoji could be our horse, and I could be on offense by jumping at other teams. Then Tsu tugs me backwards.” It might be flirting with breaching the rules, but it was all he could think of. Shoji nodded, thinking. “Is that even allowed?”

Killua was about to open his mouth, when Midnight piped up. “As long as you don’t intentionally throw a rider off its horse.” Killua grinned, this would be interesting. “Perfect. So, you in?” Shoji and Tsu glanced at eachother, then nodded in unison. “Best strategy we’ve got. Welcome to the team.” Shoji said. Killua gently hopped up onto his back, which was very strange. It felt like being on a platform made out of flesh, which was kind of disturbing. Tsu hopped up beside him, crouching down in a froglike position.

Killua received his Velcro headband and wrapped it around his forehead, the countdown was about to start. However as he was scanning over the teams, he noticed Todoroki glaring at someone in the crowd. The hatred in his eyes looked all too familiar to Killua. He curiously followed Todoroki’s gaze, realizing who he was looking at. Ah, so he has daddy issues. Honestly I kinda saw that coming. Killua had researched several pro heroes in his time holed up in bed, and he had to say he wasn’t exactly fond of Endeavor.

“THREE!”

“TWO!”

“ONE!”

“BEGIN!”

When the round finally began, nearly every team rushed for Midoriya’s. They stood little chance of gaining a headband from that chase, but he had an idea. Killua tapped Shoji’s back to get his attention. “Follow them. Trust me.” Shoji glanced up at him, then nodded and diverged toward the crowd and started chasing after Midoriya as well. “Tsu, the moment I grab a headband or I start to get too close to the ground, pull me back. Unless I tell you to wait.” Tsu nodded. He could tell neither of them really had confidence in his abilities all that much, but he’d definitely prove his worth here.

Just as they pulled close to two separate groups, one on either side. One from class 1-B, and one with Hagakure at the head. All they were focused on was Midoriya’s team. Their team started flying, causing all four of them to look up. Killua held up a hand, signaling he was about to jump to Tsu to make sure she was ready. Killua then leapt off Shoji, the one thing he’d trained in the past few weeks was how to control and manage his strength and speed in this new gravity. Killua grasped Hagakure’s headband, then yanked it off relatively carefully.

He couldn’t actually see her because she wasn’t wearing a shirt. The last thing he wanted was to touch something he didn’t mean to. Hagakure gasped, although she was now completely invisible so he couldn’t tell what she was doing. Tsu’s tongue wrapped around his torso and yanked him backwards, Killua hoped it didn’t hurt very much. As he was yanked back, he turned in the direction of the other team. A blonde student with a cocky grin on his face sat as the rider, not someone Killua recognized. Not sure what is quirk is, but I can take a gamble. As soon as Tsu set him down, he leapt off again in the direction of his new opponents.

However this time, they were expecting him. One of the horses, a man with oddly shaped eyes, exhaled deeply. As he did so, a mini near invisible wall formed between them. Killua made a split second decision, and called out to Tsu. “TSU!” Tsu yanked him backwards again, and as she did so he saw the rider grin with confidence. Exactly how he wanted him to. “What was the point of that, Kero.” Tsu asked, as he was set on Shoji’s back once more. Killua grinned, although he knew it wasn’t visible through his mask. “I could easily break through that barrier, but now he doesn’t know that.” He turned to Tsu, grinning underneath his mask.

“And that’s how we get him.”
