A warm glow casted my face in light, my eyelids filled with a pinkish hue. The morning sun warmed my face in such a delightful way, I could’ve slept longer. Birds chirped merrily outside, crying out their tunes in search of a mate. The pressure on my chest reminded me of mine.
I had slept deeply, only beautiful dreams that I didn’t particularly remember but still left behind an impression of happiness. I adjusted my shoulders slightly, trying to wiggle back into a more comfortable position without waking up the snoozing boy that lay on me.
Squinting my eyes open, sunlight momentarily blinding me, I adjusted to the brightness. The window was open, filling the room with crisp, clean morning air and direct sunbeams that chased away the night chills. I grasped the end of the blanket and pulled it upwards and over our bodies.
Looking down I flushed at the sight. Pale pink strands of hair fell across his face, tousled in a bedraggled way. He had been squirming all night so the look seemed about what I had imagined. Rays of light illuminated his pale skin in cascades of warmth and sunshine giving him a peaceful glow. His eyelids fluttered, possibly dreaming as his fingers twitched lightly against my sides.
He had cuddled into my chest, ensnaring me in his tight hug all night long. I ran a finger lightly over the scar on his cheek, hopefully soothing his sleeping trembles. It didn’t seem to be a nightmare, I’ve witnessed plenty of those and they were usually more frantic, but whatever it was had him excited enough to move.
My fingers moved from his scar to his hair, softly scrubbing at his scalp and running through the thick locks. He released a sleepy sigh, his fingers ceasing their movements. I continued watching as he slowly blinked his eyes open.
He seemed dazed, half awake as it took him a few moments to take in his surroundings. His head lifted up slightly, turning towards the sunlight before dropping back onto my chest. His deep purple eyes gazed up at me, two beautiful galaxies I would gladly lose myself to. A small smile reached his lips as his hand lifted to cup my face.
“Good morning handsome,” he whispered sleepily. I chuckled quietly, always amused with his half awake personality. He’s sweeter when fresh from a good night’s sleep. His body brushed against mine as he moved upwards, head burying between my neck and shoulder. His breath tickled the spot making me flinch.
“Good morning to you as well, Sabito.” I felt his smile against my skin as he placed a sweet kiss on the spot. I flushed and rolled my eyes, partially in embarrassment. Who even wakes up like this? So sappy.
He continued placing soft kisses, journeying up till he reached my lips. He paused, staring deep into my eyes, his face red and burning. I smiled up at him as he pecked my lips quickly, suddenly very shy. He must be waking up a bit more. It would probably only take him a few more moments before he fully shut down in a flustered state. He dropped down by my side again, arms once more curling around me, cradling my body against his.
“You’re so cute when you’re like this,” I teased as he buried his face into my shoulder, I’m guessing now fully awake. I only laughed in response, he was just too adorable. I placed my own kiss on his forehead, pulling the blanket and covering us up to our chins.
“Are we going back to bed?” he asked in confusion. Normally we couldn’t sleep in and had to go train but I had struck up a deal with Urokodaki, might or might not include making dinner for the next month, but we were allowed one day of rest and I planned on cuddling Sabito all day long.
“Trust me and go back to sleep,” I mumbled, ready to fall right back to bed. He looked nervous but he’s known me long enough to know that I wouldn’t get us in trouble over something as small as sleeping in. I felt the tension leave his body, his legs intertwined with mine under the sheets.
We pressed in close, only inches away from each other’s faces and our bodies resting against each other. I sighed in content, placing one more kiss on Sabito’s lips before he quickly drifted off to sleep.
I stayed awake just a bit longer, admiring the angelic features of the beautiful boy pushed up against me. He was perfect in every way and I was lucky enough to be his and for him to be mine. I’d protect him with everything I have till death if I needed. Cuddling closer and laying my head on his chest, I dozed off feeling my love’s hands holding me closer.
