Evan’s POV
I took my seat in the front corner of class while Alex sat at the back, accompanied by his friends. English seemed to go on for quite forever and it got so boring. Not many students were paying attention.
“Alright class, you have an assignment that needs to be completed before the end of this month. It will be your final mark, not to mention it will be making up a huge part of your percentage for this semester, so I expect you to all participate in this. You will be working in pairs that I have chosen.” Mr. Ron, our English teacher announced.
The whole class groaned. “Do I make myself clear?” Mr. Ron asked, well more like yelled out. “Yes.” The class said in a dead manner. “Good, now let’s begin.” Mr. Ron started, “……and lastly….Evan and Alex.”
“What?!” We both yelled out in unison, with me being noticeably softer than him.
“Is there a problem?” Mr. Ron inquired.
“Yeah, there’s no way I’m working with him.” Alex huffed.
“And why not?” Mr. Ron asked, uninterested.
“Because it’s him.” Alex stated as if it was supposed to be the most obvious thing in the world.
“Well too bad. And that’s final. You especially need to boost your grades or you’re off the football team.” Mr. Ron stated.
“Yeah, I know that. But out of everyone, why him?!” Alex said, trying to sound calm but failing at that.
“Because I said so. Now sucker up and do it, or I’ll talk to your couch and you’ll be off the team.” Mr. Ron stately calmly.
Alex groaned loudly. I turned to his direction slowly, but was met with hateful daggers shooting right at me. I turned around quickly, in fear of looking back. If looks could kill, I’d be long gone.
“Whatever.” Alex scoffed, with a roll of his eyes. I could hear his friends laughing their heads off in the background. The bell rang at that moment and he stormed out of the classroom in anger.
‘Well this should be interesting.’ I thought to myself sarcastically.
