“So, you and Brady used to watch lots of these girly shows?”Paula asked, “Not that it’s a bad thing. Just not my kind of show.”

Brady and I used to make a whole list of shows that we were going to watch together. Even though we never finished Dexter, I was excited to watch shows like Bates Motel and How To Get Away With Murder but now, I have to watch it with Paula. She’s not a bad company but she talks way too much while watching shows.

We were currently watching The Vampire Diaries and as much as people say it was cringe, I found it kinda interesting. Not because of the romance or the annoying, naive main character but because of the okay plot for teen drama and a good villain.

“Not exactly Brady taste either, “I muttered, not wanting to elaborate more on it since I was over Brady and that meant that I was not going to talk about him at all.

“Have you heard from him yet?”She asked sympathetically.

“No, and that’s fine.”I said casually, “I haven’t even think about him at all lately.

That was a lie.

I thought about him a lot and I try hard not to but I just do.

She got a notification from her phone and I couldn’t help but let out a grin when I saw her blush.

“Who are you texting?”I asked teasingly, “Is it that hot guy you went on a date with last night?”

“That guy was really boring.”She mentioned, “This is just a girl that flirted with me at the bar last night, while I was on my date.”

“Oh, “I muttered.

“What?”She raised her eyebrows.

“Nothing.”I shrugged, “I just thought you like boys.”

“I do.”She pointed out.

“And this girl?”I said awkwardly.

“She’s…pretty.”She said.

“What did she say?”I asked excitedly,      “Is she asking you out?”

“Even if she did, we’re not close enough for me to tell you everything.”She said in an annoyed tone.

“Aww.”I frowned, “But I told you everything about Brady.”

“I asked you about it once and you haven’t stopped.”She pointed out.

Someone walked into the front door and I saw my father walked in with a grocery bag in his hands.

He immediately saw us and smirked.

“Keep that up and the two of you might fall in love.”He joked, most likely referring to my past relationship with Brady.

“Haha.”I laughed insincerely,

Brady Hutton

Ryan had been nothing but cold to me ever since he found about Liam and me.
He usually had something dickish to say but he was quiet while we walked to the arena.

“You really not gonna say anything before I risk my life out there?”I asked Ryan after we entered the locker room.

“Just get dress and I’ll see you out there.”He said coldly, “I’m gonna go and check on the ring.”

“We broke up.”I uttered out, making him stop waking, “For what’s it worth.”

“Good.”He said bitterly, “Just get ready quick.”He shrugged, “These people hate waiting.”

I nodded and he went away while I take out my gym bag to get dress.

My vacation days were almost running out and I just needed to get this over with as soon as possible and go home to see Liam, if he doesn’t hate me. The final voice message really hit me hard and I just needed to make things right with him.

“You Hutton?”

I turned around to see a plus-sized bald guy with tattoos around his eyes starring at me weirdly. He was very tall too. If you were to see him from a distance, you might think he’s a werewolf.

“Who’s asking?”I raised my eyebrows.

“I’m your opponent for tonight.”He said and I don’t what it was but the guy kinda scared me.

“Great, I’ll see you on the ring,” I said casually, making him glare at me.

“Listen here, little guy.”He choked me and slammed me on the locker, “We have no beef with you. Just go home and leave the asshole here.”

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t consider it but then again, I’ve made it this far and I can’t just backstab Ryan like that.

“Tempting but no.”I shoved his hand away.

His face was all red and he looked he wanted to kill me but he took a deep breath and punch the locker behind.

“You’re gonna regret that when we kill you both.”He spat and stormed away.

I had a few more minutes before the match started and I just had a bad feeling about this. I mean, there was no way I could beat that giant and even if I did, there is still a chance that they’d kill us anyways.

What if I die after this and I’ve never got to apologize to Liam or my siblings for leaving.

I finally got the courage to take out my phone and record myself.

The first person that I needed to apologize to was obviously Liam.

“Hey, Liam, “I started, “I don’t know what’s gonna happen to me after this but I’m sorry for everything. I love you, Liam, always have and it kills me to listen to your messages without reaching you back. I promise that if I managed to get out of all the shit I’m going through now, I’ll come home and tell you everything. Letting go of you was the biggest mistake of my life.”

“Hey, you ready?”Ryan asked me.

“Yeah, okay.”I said to him and turned back to the camera, “I’m really sorry.”

I sent the video to him.

I sighed and went out outside the locker room, where everyone was cheering. I didn’t mind them and jogged to the ring.

My opponent was standing on the other corner while I just casually stood near Ryan, who was on the edge of the ring, outside of the rope.

“Here’s the plan, “Ryan started, “There are no rules and I suggest you hit him with a chair or something.”

“What do you mean there are no rules?”I clenched my teeth, “Wouldn’t it be better if you told me this earlier.”

Ryan didn’t have any time to answer as the bell rung and the guy instantly came after me, squashing me onto the corner, making me grunt.

He backed away and was nice enough to let me recover before he was ready to do it again but I dodge, making him hit the corner.

“Brady.”Ryan called and slide what looked like a baton under the rope, “Aim for the legs.”

“Where did you even get this?”I said loudly.

I instantly grabbed the weapon and as he was running in my direction, I hit him on the face, making him lose his balance and fall to the ground.

“I said aim for the legs,” Ryan yelled.

“I’m sorry, are you the one in the ring?”I said angrily.

The guy was still on the floor and it looked like he was unconscious but there was another problem, the guy on my opponent’s corner was chasing after Ryan.

I decided to help him out and grabbed the guy by the back of his shirt and held him by the collar.

“It’s over, I won.”I said seriously, “Leave me and my friend alone.”

“I’m just a coach. He took my wallet”He said like a coward, “Please don’t hurt me.”

“Who the fuck do I have to talk to then?”I spat.

“What are you talking about?”The guy asked, “Talk to who about what?”

I turned to Ryan and he struggled to make I instantly knew what he was planning.

“How much?”I asked bitterly and he struggled to make eye contact with me.

“What now?”Ryan said dumbly.

“How much are you making out of this?”I spat, “And how much did you pay that guy to threaten me.”I pointed at the guy in the ring.

“Look, Brady, we can talk about this.”He lowered his voice.

“Fuck you, “I said and stormed away.

“Brady, come on.”He said after I went backstage and he followed me. I grabbed my stuff from the locker.

“I should have known to not trust an asshole like you, “I said while packing my stuff.

“I was planning to give you some of the money too.”He defended.

“I don’t fucking want it.”I spat, “I trusted you, Ryan. I can’t believe that we used to be brothers and you just manipulate me like this.”I grabbed my bag and was ready to go but not before saying, “The truth is, Ryan, you are a fucking loser and I thought I was sad but literally no one cared about you and the only person that does gives a shit, you do stupid things like this. So, you can take your money and you can go spend it on your own fucking miserable life.”

“Thanks, bud.”He said casually, “Now I got some extra cash to spend.”
