Inside Takemichi’s cave, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, a sharp contrast to the cold outside.

Baji sat comfortably on a wooden sofa crafted by Seishu, a project Takemichi had specifically requested. The polished wood and soft leaves—act as a cushions, since takemichi doesn’t have the materials for this, provided both comfort and durability, blending functionality with coziness.

This part of the cave, referred to as the living room by Takemichi, served as the central gathering space where they could relax and socialize.

Baji sat with a laid-back posture, his eyes focused on two figures seated across from him on another wooden sofa.

His mother, Ryoko, and his vice-captain, Chifuyu Matsuno, were settled there, their presence creating a dynamic balance in the room, or that what people would think if they saw them and doesn’t know what exactly happened.

Ryoko, with her gentle demeanor, was draped in a cloak of unknown animal hide, its deep yellow hue adorned with gold-tipped highlights.

The cloak’s luxurious texture and elegant design seemed to echo her nurturing nature while also hinting at her distinguished status.

Her eyes, reflecting a mixture of warmth and curiosity, occasionally flickered toward Baji as if gauging his reaction to the new surroundings.

On the other hand, Chifuyu Matsuno sat with quiet confidence, his sharp, focused gaze always alert to his surroundings. His most striking feature was his hairstyle—a blonde undercut with dark roots peeking through.

The top of his hair was kept longer, falling slightly to one side in messy waves, while the sides and back were neatly shaved down to reveal the contrast of his natural black hair.

This unique style gave him an effortlessly cool look, accentuating his sharp features.

His emerald-green eyes, bright and expressive, seemed to hold both wisdom beyond his years and a quiet determination.

Baji already knew that this eyes….. They softened when he was with his friends, but could harden in an instant when faced with a challenge.

Chifuyu’s face was smooth, unmarred by scars, reflecting a youthful, almost innocent appearance that contrasted with the toughness he exuded.

Chifuyu’s attire was both striking and enigmatic, reflecting his unique status and role.

He wore a cloak made from an unknown, luxurious animal hide that boasted a deep, vibrant yellow with shimmering gold tips highlighting the edges.

The fur, soft and lustrous, seemed to catch the light with every movement, creating a play of warm, golden hues that accentuated the cloak’s rich texture.

The cloak was designed for both function and elegance. Its broad shoulders were adorned with intricate, golden embroidery that formed abstract patterns and symbols, hinting at an ancient and prestigious lineage.

The garment draped elegantly from his shoulders, reaching down to his mid-calf, and was fastened with a silver clasp that bore a subtle insignia of a fierce, stylized beast—perhaps a symbol of his authority or clan.

Beneath the cloak, Chifuyu wore a form-fitting tunic made from a dark, supple fabric that complemented the vibrant fur of his outerwear. The tunic was reinforced with subtle armor plating along the chest and shoulders, providing both protection and freedom of movement.

His for his lower part, matching the dark tone of the tunic, were tucked into knee-high, fur.

Though his appearance might seem unassuming at first, there was something about him—an unshakable resolve, a fierce loyalty—that made it clear Chifuyu Matsuno was more than just another face in the crowd.

The two figures seated on the wooden sofa were lost in their own thoughts, their expressions a mix of awe and disbelief as they took in their surroundings.

The interior of the cave, with its unexpected blend of natural and human-made elements, was unlike anything they had seen before.

The cave’s walls, adorned with intricate carvings and illuminated by the soft glow lights from a small balls across the edges of the cave, acting as a lanterns, created a setting that was both majestic and inviting.

Ryoko, despite having heard about Takemichi and his unique circumstances from others, was seeing him for the first time.

She had mentally prepared for this meeting, guided by descriptions and expectations, but the reality surpassed anything she had imagined.

As her eyes scanned the cave, she took in the thoughtfully arranged furnishings and the welcoming atmosphere. This cave was nothing like the rough, untamed spaces she was used to. It was obvious Takemichi had invested great effort into turning it into a home—a detail that both surprised and impressed her.

The elegance and comfort of the space reflected Takemichi’s warmth and kindness, deepening her admiration for him even more.

Chifuyu, on the other hand, was grappling with a whirlwind of emotions.

Fresh from their travels and still processing the news of Baji’s mate, he was caught off guard by the reality before him.

He had envisioned what Baji’s mate might look like, perhaps imagining a female with certain characteristics. But nothing had prepared him for the sight of Takemichi—a male of extraordinary beauty, whose presence was as enigmatic as it was captivating.

The cave’s sophisticated interior and Takemichi’s demeanor left him both fascinated and unsettled.

Keisuke, who had been silently observing the scene, was a bundle of nerves and annoyance.

He couldn’t help but feel a twinge of irritation at the unexpected intrusion into what he considered a private space.

While he understood that the cave was not solely Baji’s—sharing it with Seishu, Mikey, Draken, and Takemichi—it was still a place of personal significance.

The sudden appearance of Ryoko and Chifuyu without prior notice felt invasive.

In the beast world, territorial boundaries held great significance and were strictly honored. Caves and other claimed areas were more than mere shelters; they symbolized one’s home, identity, and standing within their tribe or clan. These personal sanctuaries were fiercely guarded, and the traditions surrounding them were deeply rooted in respect.

Unannounced visits from outsiders weren’t just rude—they were seen as a serious violation, often interpreted as a potential threat.

The customs were straightforward: entering someone’s private space without permission was considered a deep act of disrespect.

This was especially true for personal dwellings, where privacy and security were paramount. The only exception to this rule was a healer’s cave, which was open to those in need due to its role in communal well-being.

Such breaches were not taken lightly.

They could provoke suspicion, hostility, or even defensive actions, as the integrity of one’s claimed space was closely tied to their social standing and sense of safety.

The social fabric of the beast world was built on a foundation of mutual respect and clear boundaries, and any violation of these boundaries could disrupt the delicate balance of trust that held their society together.

Keisuke’s agitation was entirely justified.

The sudden and unannounced arrival of Ryoko and Chifuyu at the cave was more than just an inconvenience—it was a significant breach of the deeply ingrained customs of the beast world.

The abruptness of the situation, coupled with the uncertainty of the guests’ intentions, cast a shadow of suspicion over the encounter.

The sense of intrusion was palpable and weighed heavily on him.

The cave wasn’t just a home; it was a personal sanctuary, carefully protected as a place of comfort and safety.

When strangers appeared unexpectedly, especially those with unclear intentions, it disrupted the delicate balance of their daily lives.

This intrusion threatened not only their peace of mind but also the safety and sacredness of their home, which added to Keisuke’s growing frustration and unease.

The chance of misunderstandings and the disruption of their well-established routines made the situation even more concerning.

Despite his frustration, Keisuke knew the importance of staying calm and diplomatic.

The unexpected arrival of his mother, Ryoko, and Chifuyu presented a chance to bridge gaps and foster understanding, even though it didn’t erase the tension caused by their unannounced visit.

The living room itself was a combination of rugged natural elements and thoughtful design.

The cave walls had been smoothed and decorated with tapestries showing scenes from the beast world’s landscapes, blending the natural rock with the crafted interior.

Woven rugs covered the floor, adding warmth and color against the cool stone beneath.

In the center stood a low wooden table, arranged with dried fruits, nuts (—Draken found one day while hunting), and a pitcher of herbal(—that takemichi found in lang zhu’s cave) tea, offering a welcoming touch.

The aroma of the tea mingled with the earthy scent of the cave, creating an atmosphere that was both refreshing and grounding.

The warm light from the lanterns hanging on the cave walls cast a soft glow, enhancing the inviting ambiance of the room.

While Baji grappled with his own concerns, Takemichi immersed himself in the kitchen, a crucial part of his ongoing efforts to maintain their home.

The kitchen, a meticulously organized and functional area within the cave, was where Takemichi devoted much of his time and energy. Today, his focus was on preparing the meat Baji had brought back from the hunt.

Takemichi approached the task with precision.

He began by thoroughly cleaning the prey, removing every trace of excess and ensuring the meat was in prime condition.

Once cleaned, he carefully coated it with a juice extracted from a local fruit, which served both to enhance the flavor and to act as a preservative.

Following this, Takemichi moved to the next step: hanging the meat high up on the mountain wall to dry.

The spot was chosen carefully because the higher location had better air flow, which helped things dry faster. Takemichi fully trusted Seishu, an friend, an important resident of the cave—a cavemate(?), to handle the task well.

The setup was practical and well-suited to ensure that the meat would be properly preserved and ready for future use.

Despite the remote location of their cave, Takemichi wasn’t overly concerned about potential theft. The isolation of their home, combined with the well-known fact that it was Baji’s residence, made theft highly unlikely.

The tribe’s respect for Baji and his territory ensured that any thought of stealing was a mere afterthought. Still, just in case, Takemichi had taken precautionary measures.

To safeguard against potential theft, Takemichi implemented a highly inventive deterrent. He carefully created a depiction of a black hole on the wall where the meat was hung, using black wood-coal to draw it. The black hole was intricately detailed, with swirling shadows and deep, foreboding edges that gave it a convincingly ominous appearance.

Inside this darkened space, Takemichi incorporated eyes—cold, calculating, and distinctly predator-like.

The eyes were designed to be both unsettling and realistic, with a piercing glare that seemed to follow any onlooker’s movements. To an untrained observer, the depiction might have appeared as nothing more than an abstract or crude drawing.

However, Takemichi, knowing exactly what the eyes were—since he had drawn them himself—could only laugh quietly in the background. He had simply sketched a pair of scary eyes, yet they had an unsettling effect on anyone who saw them. The eyes resembled those of a predator or mythical creature, something that seemed to watch every move, as if waiting to devour you.

And this tactic are very effective! Baji and the others had often been startled by them, especially when distracted. This fear-inducing effect kept the deterrent working long after it was set up.

Takemichi’s choice to hang the meat high on the mountain wall also ensured it was safe from both the weather and intruders. The height allowed for better air circulation, helping the meat dry, while the eerie drawing added extra protection. This blend of practicality and intimidation became a source of amusement for the cave’s residents.

In addition to his meticulous meat preparation, Takemichi was equally devoted to ensuring a well-rounded diet for himself and his companions.

Despite the fact that the four beastmen who resided with him were primarily carnivorous, they had developed an appreciation for Takemichi’s culinary skills, which included an array of vegetables.

Recognizing the importance of a balanced diet, Takemichi was adamant about incorporating vegetables into their meals.

He understood that relying exclusively on meat could lead to significant nutritional deficiencies, which was why he made it a priority to include vegetables in their diet.

To manage the vegetables efficiently, Takemichi employed a systematic approach.

He divided the vegetables into two groups: one for immediate consumption and the other for long-term storage.

For the latter, Takemichi had previously enlisted Mikey’s help to dig a cellar beneath the kitchen. This cellar, designed with careful consideration, provided an ideal environment for preserving vegetables—or what the people here called, herds, that takemichi found in Lang Zhu’s cave—, keeping them fresh for extended periods.

The cellar’s construction was a practical solution that contributed to the increasing stockpile of food within their cave.

As Takemichi observed the growing inventory of provisions, he felt a deep sense of satisfaction.

The expanding food reserves were not just a reflection of his thoughtful management but also a symbol of the well-organized and self-sufficient household he had cultivated.

The balance between immediate and stored provisions was a testament to his dedication and foresight, ensuring that they were well-prepared for any future needs.

While Takemichi busied himself with his tasks, Seishu made his way to Lang Zhu’s cave with a specific purpose.

He had been assigned the important duty of transporting Takemichi’s cubs to Lang Zhu’s residence.

The arrival of the two unexpected guests, Ryoko and Chifuyu, had created an unforeseen shift in the usual dynamics of their household. Their presence was a significant event that warranted immediate attention, and Seishu’s role in moving the cubs was crucial to maintaining their safety and well-being amidst the disruption.

The task at hand was not merely logistical; it was a matter of ensuring that the cubs were relocated to a place where they would be secure and comfortable, away from the potential chaos caused by the newcomers.

Seishu approached his task with a sense of urgency and responsibility, knowing that the cubs’ welfare was paramount.

As he journeyed to Lang Zhu’s cave, he was mindful of the need to act swiftly and efficiently, recognizing that the stability of their environment depended on how well the transition was managed.

༻﹡﹡Seishu’s POV﹡﹡༺

The realization that Michi had two cubs came as a shock, a revelation that unfolded the day after

I regained consciousness following three days of unconsciousness.

During that time, I had been wrapped in a haze of rest, as advised by Lang Zhu. It was only then that I began to piece together the fragments of my experience and understand the significance of Michi.

Although I had initially believed that Michi was the female I was seeking, discovering that Michi was male did not alter the profound connection I felt.

My time spent resting was filled with dreams and reflections on Michi—dreams that had become a recurring part of my life.

In those dreams, Michi’s face was unmistakably clear, devoid of the usual blur that often accompanied such visions.

This clarity confirmed what I had suspected:

Takemichi was indeed the male from my dreams, the one who had haunted my thoughts and emotions.

It was as if these dreams had been guiding me all along, a way for fate to reveal the truth about my destined mate. The bond I felt with Takemichi, the reason behind my persistent thoughts and yearning, seemed to stem from this deep-seated connection.

The dreams, which had started when I was still a cub, had been a constant thread weaving through my life, linking me to him in a way I had only begun to understand.

As I mulled over this realization, it became clear that my attachment to Michi was not a mere coincidence.

It was as though the dreams were a prelude to our meeting, a sign that he was indeed my fated mate.

This awareness made the dream’s imagery all the more significant, as it wasn’t just a fleeting vision but a guiding force in recognizing my true mate.

Reflecting on the past, it was evident that these dreams had been preparing me for this moment.

Even though the reality of Michi’s gender differed from my initial assumptions, the essence of our connection remained unchanged. It was this deep, unspoken bond that drew me to him and kept me tethered to the thought of him, making it clear that our paths were intertwined by destiny.

This realization only deepened my feelings for him.

It made sense why I felt such an irresistible pull towards him.

It was a connection that transcended mere attraction; it felt like destiny itself was guiding me.

However……

I wasn’t alone in my dreams, nor was I the only one drawn to Michi.

Over time, I learned that I wasn’t the only one, and I’m sure that thought beats that what in my dream shared the same sense of connection.

When I first discovered this, it was devastating.

The idea that I was not unique, that Michi had many mates, was difficult to accept. However, I eventually came to terms with it. It seemed natural for someone of Michi’s significance to have multiple connections.

One night, during a particularly vivid dream, I found myself amidst a crowd of beastmen.

The scene was surreal, with numerous figures around me—some male, some female.

A dense fog obscured their faces, as if to signal that it wasn’t the right time to recognize them. I accepted this as part of the process, understanding that I would eventually meet these individuals in reality.

Despite the strangeness of the dream, there was a sense of inevitability about it.

I had a lingering feeling that Michi was not entirely of this world, that he somehow didn’t belong here in the traditional sense.

Yet, as fate would have it, he appeared before me. His arrival was nothing short of miraculous. He saved me, and in doing so, I had the chance to meet some of his future mates.

The most astonishing revelation was that these individuals were not strangers—they were people I knew!

I found that out, after meeting takemichi with Mikey and Draken. Then soon, I fully realize it after the 3—Baji, Koko, Tajiu meet takemichi.

This unexpected connection added another layer of complexity to my feelings and understanding of Michi’s world. It was both comforting and bewildering to see familiar faces in the midst of such an extraordinary situation.

Well….

Not that I’m complaining—far from it. I’m completely fine with the situation, as long as I can have a piece of him.

Returning to the matter of the cubs, I discovered their existence the next morning after discussing Michi with Lang Zhu. My initial reaction was one of shock and confusion. It wasn’t Draken’s or Sano’s—Mikey’s cubs, which was unexpected.

Lang Zhu explained that they weren’t Michi’s biological cubs but adopted ones. However, something about the situation felt off to me. My instincts told me otherwise; I was certain they were Michi’s cubs.

My intuition has never failed me before, and this was no exception.

Oddly enough, and though it may sound strange, among Michi’s mates that I had seen in my dreams, two were fairies—just like the cubs.

This only reinforced my belief that they were indeed Takemichi’s offspring.

Despite the confusion, I genuinely like the two cubs. It doesn’t matter to me whether they are biologically his or adopted. As long as they are connected to Michi, I will love them with all my heart.

Arriving at Lang Zhu’s cave, I found him waiting outside.

“Oh, Seishu? What brings you here?”
He asked, puzzled by my unexpected visit.

“I’m here to take Michi’s cubs”
I replied with my usual nonchalance.

Lang Zhu’s eyes widened in surprise.

“Eh? I thought it was the little male who was going to take them. What happened?”

I paused for a moment, then explained the situation from that morning in detail. As I spoke, Lang Zhu suddenly burst into laughter, which left me bewildered.

He wiped away imaginary tears from his eyes and, still chuckling, said…

“I see, I see. So Ryoko has finally met the little male, and not just that—young Chifuyu did as well. Hmm, it seems something interesting is about to unfold~”
His amusement was palpable.

While I didn’t quite understand his reaction, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something significant was on the horizon. Whether I liked it or not, I had to agree that change was coming.

Lang Zhu then opened the animal hide that served as the door to his cave and said..

“Come in. The cubs are inside. Let’s continue our conversation there.”

Without a word, I nodded in acknowledgment and followed him into the cave.

I’m uncertain about what the future holds, but whatever it may be, I’m ready to face it. As long as I can be of help, support, and protect Michi, I’ll give it my all.

Inside Takemichi’s cave, in the warmth of the kitchen, Takemichi busied himself preparing meals for his guests.

Baji, having lent a hand, was now heading back with the dishes Takemichi had prepared for their visitors.

Suddenly, a notification from the system flashed before Takemichi’s eyes, causing him to pause in his work.

“Congratulations to the host, your second series of tasks has been completed! The reward will be issued to you soon. It’s a very special reward! Please check it, and hope that you’ll like it.”

Takemichi’s brow furrowed in confusion as he read the message, but his bewilderment quickly gave way to astonishment when a large bag materialized in front of him.

It wasn’t just any bag—it was Takemichi’s own bag, the one he had packed for an upcoming vacation that was supposed to happen in two weeks.

He hadn’t expected to see it again, especially not as a reward!

For a moment, he stood there in stunned silence, then his face lit up with sheer joy.

The appearance of the bag was a welcome relief, and he knew that the contents would ease many of his worries.

The bag was filled with supplies and items he would need, making it an invaluable reward.

Takemichi felt a surge of gratitude so intense that he was nearly moved to tears.

However, his elation was short-lived as he heard Baji’s voice from outside the kitchen, indicating that he was speaking with the two guests. Quickly regaining his composure, Takemichi hid the bag away in his room, tucking it into his large cabinet.

The system had once again proven its power, delivering a reward that was both timely and immensely helpful.

With the cold weather setting in, Baji and Seishu no longer needed to venture out for hunting. Instead, they could stay indoors, focusing on smoking meat and pickling vegetables.

Yet, unbeknownst to Takemichi, as winter approached, a group of orcs began making their way to the wolf tribe.

Their arrival would soon disrupt the previously peaceful life of the tribe, ushering in unforeseen challenges and changes.
