They soon reached the hall where Kalev suspected his parents and other nobles are judging by the noise coming from the inside,
–
Nothing could describe how incredulous Sejin is feeling right now. How much of an amoral his parents are being right now. The audacity to throw a banquet after engaging him to someone- or rather after selling him- how much of a foolish beings are they. He glared at the grandeur gates of the banquet hall, his thoughts going haywire and his rationality blinded by this madness.
Levi sported the same expression while climbing back in Sejin’s arms, he knew that the two royal rulers were an arsehole as he had regressed more than one time with the former Sejin, but he did not expect that as time goes by, the corruption was eating time and time again.
“Should we make a grand entrance, my snow rose?”
Akira smiled at Sejin, his eyes glinting in a soft gleam which did not go unnoticed by the lion in his blood brother’s arms. Levi frowned. He had observed these twins long enough to know that there is something wrong with them- the way his skin tingles at the sight of them,
‘There is something wrong this time…’
“Say the word, little bird.”
Jane followed, planting a soft and gentle kiss on the back of Sejin’s palm with an innocent smile before glancing down at Levi with a small jerk of his lips. The receiver of such eerie expression shivered in fright and subconsciously digging his body more in Sejin’s arms.
“What’s wrong, Levi?”
The first prince looked down in worry while the twins sent Levi a closed eye smile.
“Nothing. Just crash in.”
He mumbles and hides his face away with a huff.
“Yes, that pet is right.”
“Just crash it, my little bird.”
And then as if the words became his fuel, the engine of his madness roared in hatred. Inside the banquet, while every nobles shared their fake facades and the two royal rulers conversing with the envoys of the kingdom. The gates of the banquet hall crashed open along with the shards of sharp and rough ice as it expanded and hindered everyone’s movement; the burst of ice left the nobles quivering as the temperature dropped to a certain degree.
The two royal rulers frowned at this while the palace guards surrounded the envoys and their rulers.
“So, no one informed me?”
Sejin stepped in with a condescending glare accompanied by his tails. The room fell silent at the demonstration of power, the envoys watched in amazement and fear as the renowned survivor of the blacks stood before them- seething.
This wasn’t how they pictured meeting him.
“When are you going to tell me that I have been engaged to the Duke’s sons?”
He stepped forward each syllable of his questions made the hall colder and stiff. The royal rulers stepped down from the platforms of their seats and smiled at Sejin, his mother approached him and chuckled softly.
“Oh, perfect! Did the two bright Lucasta already told you?”
Sejin gave a short reply of affirmation,
“That’s wonderful! I especially went to the duke’s manor to announce the engagement.”
He raised his eyebrows with a cold smile contrasting his mother’s excited smile as she told him about the plans she had laid upon his future: from the wedding, grandchildren, guards, manors and titles for each child. Once they have reached the platform, Sejin sat on the Queen’s seat and crossed his legs to the other. The nobles’ gasps silently while the twins stood by the gates with a playful smirk- proud and prideful.
Levi could not help but feel the oppression from his position but knowing it was not directed to him, he sat comfortably in Kalev’s arms.
“What are you doing, Sejin?”
The queen was dumbfounded as she looked at her son with an unbelievable gaze, her smile already turned into a frown by now. Sejin’s thin lips drew in a contemptuous smile, his eyes trailing his mother’s figure with an unreadable gaze.
“Why? Do I not belong here?”
His cold and mocking voice was enough to gain the disagreements of the nobles.
“How could a demoted prince be a Queen?”
“Such a disgrace.”
“Just because you came back from the blacks, you can act like this.”
“Ungrateful delusional prick.”
“You are not fit for the throne, your brother is.”
“You are of no royal blood.”
“The fire god disagrees with your existence.”
As these comments rang in the hall, Kalev stepped back anxiously while watching all of this unfold. His existence was once again brought up. Something that he was oh so used to hearing, being compared to others like they don’t care how they would feel. He’s a victim of it too even if it was him who was used to compare with others. But knowing that his existence brought inferiority to them, how cruel his existence could be….
