Defeat.
The five hundred year war had waged on for generations, dozens of lives lost and power gained over the years, no one within the five mystic races would’ve thought of this outcome.
The almighty witches had been defeated by the demon king and his army, aided by the vampires he had forced them to bend to his will when he took their prince.
As he walked toward the courtyard of what was once a castle, he grimaced at the sight of decapitated heads and burnt bodies, this was the price the witches were to pay for not agreeing on an alliance with the demons.
He walked forward passing the torn drapes and shattered picture frames within the castle, the flames that burned a far distance from him told their own story, a battle had been fought here by a fierce warrior.
He looked to his men and all of them had the same expression, they didn’t know who it had been, as they walked further along the steep pathway the demon king spotted a golden barrier protecting all those who were inside.
His steps quickened to the room protected by the barrier, he knew the king and his family were inside but what could they do, the kingdom had fallen they had to submit and he would make sure they obeyed.
“Demonic Cataclysm.” With a hand laid on the barrier itself, the barrier shattered in an instant along with the door leaving only traces of wood.
“Give up Ramar you have lost or shall I kill more of your people and maybe children.” He threatened as his eyes flashed pitch black making his threat even more deadly.
“We surrender.” It was the king’s wife that mumbled her head bowed, the demon king knew the woman for her fierce spirit in battle she would not give up easily, yet she had and it stunned him but he did not dwell on it. “Alright then, gather your people they must also witness this.” He ordered and with only a nod to the king he left, as he did so the witch king and his wife sighed in relief.
“I hope his negotiations won’t include taking a child of mine, he’s done it with the vampires, I don’t think I can handle losing any of my children.” The woman spoke softly as three of her children revealed themselves within the room.
“I hope Ramier doesn’t come home to this, we must warn him.” She exclaimed directing her order to her firstborn daughter who nodded, the girl tried to port away but it did not work and she groaned knowing it was the demon king’s doing.
“He’s trapped us in the castle.” She confessed making her mother worry even more. “Goddess protect my child.” The queen muttered as they walked out of the room they were in, the courtyard was filled with the nobles and others who lived in the kingdom all of them stood with defiant faces.
They were silently waiting, no chatter could be heard as was the custom among large groups of people but they were silent. Though the courtyard had been cleared enough not to know what had happened, they knew. “The mighty and proud witches have been defeated!” The demon king laughed loudly with no humor.
“Now listen to me, your kingdom shall serve mine, your rule shall be overseen by me and if you disobey I shall kill more of your kind to prove my point.” He ordered, the air around the courtyard was cold, none would’ve expected this humiliation but they would not say.
“This alliance must be held together by a marriage don’t you think Ramar.” The demon announced looking at the king intensely, they both knew what he wanted, and Ramar was stunned into silence.

Deep in the forest, a cabin hidden away by magic, the sat a which, legs crossed, eyes closed and magic radiated from in powerful waves, he could feel the oncoming hoard of demons and vampires, he knew they were sent to scout the forest for any who had fled like himself.
The ground shook outside as demon magic pulsed through it, searching for anything it could find and the witch was found. “He’s here find him!” A voice yelled from outside the cabin determination lain in his command.
“Dark Reverberation.” The waves of dark energy shook the barrier revealing the cabin inside, the demon in his attack did not stop there, his hands sparked releasing lightning that finally broke the barrier but the witch was ready to defend himself, he had no choice.
“Dark Incantation Devine Forest Summoning.” A voice spoke and the trees moved from the ground to attack the platoon of vampires and demons, impaling them and only leaving shreds of corpses.
“You won’t take me anywhere and you’ll die before I let your fifth rule my people!” The witch yelled making the demons laugh, they knew the war had been won, the witches would be governed by the demons from there on.
“Too late, your majesty the war has been won, and we’ve been sent here to find you, our king requests an audience with the entire royal family.” A demon responded and rage along with magic mixed, in his fury clouds gathered in the sky, they rumbled with power being summoned.
“Third degree Lightning Dance.” It started as a small spark, them bolts of lightning so powerful were released onto the demons and the vampires, not a trace of them was left as the lightning kept on its assault, the witch was angry and they would know his wrath.
Those far away from the battle zone knew it was no ordinary lightning, they knew their hope was the one fighting, but they needed to protect him not have him fight because he may get killed by the demon king. As the spell wore off the witch walked farther past the cabin into a hidden cellar, more and more people were inside, he had saved them from the onslaught.
“I need you all to stay safe and hidden, they want me and if I stay here more will come, so I must leave.” He stated and protests broke out as they tried to stop him. “You know they will kill you, its best you stay here with us.” The witch shook his head in protest toward the woman who had argued.
“I knew this day would come since the war began, it is alright, don’t worry, keep yourselves safe, if more come defend yourselves.” The group of people nod toward the witch as there was no stopping him.
He vanished from the cellar and appeared in the sky where clouds of smoke had been mixed with the clouds in the sky making it all grey, looking at the destruction of his home and those who had done it brought outrage from within.
He appeared in front of the castle, his home, and his heart broke, his home was in shambles and ruins, his aura bubbled up to the surface with rage as the ground beneath his feet shook with each step he took toward the courtyard, he could feel his family and others there.
Another massive power was there and he could feel it, but it did not stop him as he was determined to save his people, ice shards appeared from the ground killing any who would attack him, he moved gracefully only flicking his fingers to defend himself, until he stood in front of the large doorway.
“We’ve been expecting you, your grace.” The tall bulking mass of muscle and power spoke turning to face the witch. “Fuck you, how dare you come with your army and destroy my home, are you so power hungry that the lives of innocents were killed for you to assert your power, the witches will not bow to you or anyone!” He yelled and everyone was baffled by his outburst but he did not care, his home had been violated.
The demon king laughed loudly and the courtyard rung out with his laughter. “What can a puny witch like you do to me.” As he finished his statement a kick was delivered to his torso, it was so strong that it threw the king to the wall and made the wall shatter behind him.
He appeared right in front of the witch who had attacked him to deliver his own kick, but the witch dodged, drawing out a blade he cut the legs of the demon king, In his rage, the king released a typhoon of fire toward the witch, the fire was put out by water that had been conjured by the witch.
Another spell was cast as the water rose creating an orca aimed at the king. “Hells Rage.” The demon spoke as fire burned meeting the water, the two powers collided and everyone stood astonished by what was happening.
They had never expected anyone to fight a battle like this with the king, all their lives depended on who would win if it went on. “Phoenix Flame.” Red flames were released from the palms of the witch burning the demon, he screamed in pain as the flames burned brighter.
A black shield appeared around the king as more mana started to surface within him, his wings sprouted from his back and his eyes turned pitch black, the witch also had more mana come from within as his hair turned into a pale grey flame, and the ground beneath his feet shook as both powers clashed.
The king was not intent on fighting the witch, he wanted something else which was a worthy prize. He disappeared and appeared again with the witch’s sister, he held her by her throat crushing slowly.
“No! Let her go.” The witch yelled as the demon king scoffed bringing a blade to the throat of the girl he held. “Surrender and I will.” He stated, knowing full well the demon was not joking as the blade he held had drawn out blood, the witch surrendered.
His aura was rolled back in and so was his magic. “Let her go.” He ordered and the demon king in all the commotion ordered his men to take the witch and hold him as he let go of his sister.
“As was said before the witches shall be under the rule of the demons and to secure our alliance a marriage shall be needed, the prince will do.” Everyone gasped at the declaration by the demon king, “Please anything else.” Ramar pleaded. “No, I want him.” The witch who was being held knew they had no choice, he might fight but the king would kill his family if he did so.
“I’ll do it.”
